The Temple of Idna sits silent and desecrated within the crater of the volcano, surrounded by smoke and stone and flame. High above it, buried in the walls of the volcano itself sit the fossilized bones of an enormous dragon that once called this place home.

Beyond each of the three bridges that grant access to the temple sit gates which have already been broken inwards. The bodies of slain priests litter every entrance, robes of Idna scorched and blood stained. At each of the gates stand several Deacons wielding magic and obsidian daggers, guarding the temple.

After fighting or slipping past the gate guardians, the insides of the temple become accessible. Despite sitting within a volcano they had been kept in fine condition, until recently. With purple tapestries and rugs, fine furniture, and golden accents to marble corridors, there can be no doubt this was a great temple once. All such has been ruined however, as the works of Man destroyed what nature could not.

At every statue or image of Idna there appeared to be defacing and damage, making their hatred of the goddess well known. Deacons roaming the corridors offer resistance in the form of bolts and waves of flame, wielding vicious black knives when any draw in close. Those that do not hunt the adventurers seek out and destroy relics of the temple; slowly burning libraries and archives of history and knowledge, smashing statues, and desecrating altars by writing obscene slander across them in blood.

At the center of the temple, a large ritual takes place. The chanting is interrupted by your progress, but so long as the Deacons live, the strongest of them takes the time to maintain the ritual bindings to empower their summon. He must be slain, in order to stop the ritual.

Ignorant swine! You shall die here, with the Whore Goddess's temple of deception! Why do you stand in the way of what is right? Never mind, I have no need of your answers! I only require that you burn!

    Objectives
    • Spread out and make your way into the temple and kill or subjugate the Deacons within.
    • Red team must fight through waves of enemies to the Father of Flames, a powerful Pyromancer. Kill him to stop them from empowering the inevitable summon.
    • Teal team and Green team should go to other parts of the temple to clear out the remaining Deacons. If they aren't all hunted down, they will combine forces and retaliate en masse.

Oh no! It seemed as though her day was going to be one of resting and relaxation, preaching the word of God to some nice gladiator types in the Arena's off day and healing up wounds in return for a place to sleep. That had all become spoiled as a fly in a fruit shop though, when everything started to shake and a bunch of scary BULLSHIT started to happen. Not wanting the large building to fall on top of her, Temperance had run out to the safety of the Arena's open fighting field only to find a bunch of freaky people teleporting in suddenly! A few spoke, but it seemed for the most part everyone knew what the fuck was going on except for her! Almost like they could communicate with just their minds or something. Freaky!

Approaching the large gathering, the small priestess woman tried her best to blend in, sporting her holy garments. Bunny ears included.
As she looked over the crowd an even freakier thing happened and the world ripped open, and everyone started walking into a fucking volcano. Ballsy! Too curious not to follow, she looked around and saw that some real douchebag types had started screwing with the nice temple priests, who were dead. Bummer.

"I know JUST WHAT TO DO!"
she shouted as she ran ahead, freezing the ground and sliding across a bed of ice to bypass the temple guards. Each time she ran past a Deacon she hurled a softball sized chunk of ice right into his dick with her magic, shouting her incantation.

    FROZEN BOLT

She left them stunned and incapacitated for the others to finish off, running around and triumphantly giving the bad guys the blue balls! Each time she herself was hurt, she provided herself a generous amount of healing to keep herself in top form.
"Better put some ICE ON THAT!" she shouted.

The heat was overwhelming, the sweltering bite of it drying her breaths and prickling its way across her skin. Even her hikes and climbing out in the waking world's west coast was nothing compared to the volcano the teleportation magic's warp gate had dropped her in front of. Gwyn would normally find herself captivated by such a sight, but there was a dangerous ritual pulling on the leyline Beretta and her had found information on previously. She wasn't sure if it could even be stopped at this point, but she could certainly make the gathered deacons suffer for every chant and gesture.

She pulled the first arrow from her back to slot up against the line of the black longbow she'd long ago had custom crafted for her and, with that, charged. She had no personal investment in the goddess Idna, but she was happy to help one of the game's Elysid court deal with her temple's infestation problem. One would think a goddess would have been able to contact some follower of her own previous to all this mess, but the gods people believed in back home were silent too. Maybe it was the same here?

With the waves of players beginning to warp in, the guards outside would fall quick and the confines of the temple awaited. The lofty words of the deacon at the head of the foul ritual boomed through the cavernous maw of some ancient dragon's tomb turned temple to a god. She didn't care for it. He should be quiet. He could be still. With swift steps and sharp eyes, the archer locked onto her target with lethal intent and left the rest of the temple to others. With a wild light in her eyes and her pulse singing something nearing a hymnal through her veins for the thrill of the coming fight, Gwyn let loose the first of many arrows that would fly.

What had Astor got them into this time? It was the only thought rolling around Roland's head as he followed the intricate instructions to arrive at the temple in the middle of the volcano. It seemed the man had a passion for stirring up all kinds of trouble, and if Roland didn't know any better he would have thought that the Archana Queen was his doing as well. Actually, now that he thought about it out loud, it very much seemed possible.

A cloud of arrows sailing over Roland's head snapped him out of his daze. Roland quickly turned to towards the perpetrator @Gwyn ap Herne and shot her a stern star before turning once more to observe her target. It was some NPC labeled the "Father of Flames" and at least one of her arrows had struck true, as he began to climb back from the chaos before him. Biting his tongue Roland left a complaint unsaid, unsheathed both his blades and dashed forward into the crowd.

His goal was the same NPC but a variety of lesser Decon's lay before him, each armed with a set of blunt religious weapons in their hands. Roland tore through them with ease, however, his blades dancing in lopsided arcs as limbs and chunks of flesh fell to the floor before him. He showed no mercy, slaying any of those who stood in his path, a murderous intent gleaming in his eyes.

Sometimes, she wished that she was less responsible, that she would just wave hand at the real life and immerse herself in the much more restful virtual reality. But she was responsible and did not let her health or work suffer for the virtual experience, even if sometimes she really, really wanted.

Lately she was barely on and again she fell behind others due to the limited time she spent in the game. Luckily, it was done for now. That is, now she would have more time to spend in the game and heal more people and perhaps look up bit more the Goddess that she chose as hers. Maybe visit more temples, look for Priests or Priestesses of her.

Those musings, as she had finished dressing in the inn-room, were disrupted by an earthquake. When she glanced out of the window, she saw the sky was shaking. Ilusa watched it wide-eyed, feeling the ground slipping under her feet; that is aside the ground shaking. It ended and she quickly ran out of her room (it was paid for few more nights) and in middle of that dash, the ground shook again. Her fur stood up and ears flattened as on shaky legs, she managed to get out of the building and see people panicking and the earthquake finished, but then the UI blinked with message.

Hissing, she glanced at the message only to blink and focus on the words much more intently.

“Ugh.” A sound of complaint was uttered and she flickered her ears annoyed, continuing to read the next message. She had heard the rumours, but she did not focus too much on them in the scant short time she had for playing the game.

Her eyes narrowed in annoyance at the mention of the temple that was being used; the temple of the best friend of her Patron Goddess. Then her ear twitched. “You did what?” Ilusa murmured glaring at the part where Astor mentioned a ‘kinda deal’ made with a very powerful caster.

Sighing, she accepted the emergency summon. Just like the first summon it was pleasant, but then as she walked through the gate-

Well. She did not wish to experience it again. Ever.

Bristling a little at the unpleasant feeling of the place itself, she glanced at the new message and then entered the desecrated temple, with slain priests on the ground. Other players helped getting inside and once there she called the light. An easy spell, called forth by memory and she hurled it at the man who seemed like one who was important for the sumonning; she was not the first to attack him and his group, nor the last.

Stelluna hasn't had the best of times recently. First, she was bombarded with ice because of the cult. Didn't make out of that one unscathed either, now sporting some bandages from the various cuts she suffered escaping. Then, the temple smelled absolutely horrid. She wasn't asking for everything to smell like a rose but a combination of burnt and rotting flesh was definitely not nice. Finally, she hadn't been in a real fight in a long time. That would have been something good to most people but Stelluna lived for battle. The closest she got recently was torturing some nobody who wasn't able to fight back anyways.

She was ready and more than willing to kill a few cultists, especially if they had done something to warrant a slaughtering. She stalked closer to the main door of what could have been a mess hall before kicking the door down. The cultists inside turned to look at her, surprised at the sudden entrance. Without a moment of hesitation, she charged across the room with her spear at the ready. It was time to spill some blood.

It was all too overwhelming. The heat licked at every part of her body, warming her far beyond the point of comfortable, but Kyupin couldn’t back out now. Through the haze of fear-powered adrenalin, she could barely recognize Gwyn’s figure, letting loose an arrow, taking lead.

Yes. @Gwyn ap Herne would know what she was doing.

Taking a deep breath, Kyupin followed after the other Ranger, taking faith in the more experienced woman’s decisions. She rushed forward to her side, hooking an arrow into place and letting it loose, watching as it pierced through one of the many deacons protecting the portly man performing the ritual.

That was the one who wanted to unleash hell on Terrasphere? Then she’d stop him. One way or another. And it seemed she was not alone in that mindset.

After he was ejected from the portal, Astor was barely able to keep himself from emptying his stomach onto the volcanic floor. Wiping away the sweat on his brows, he took a deep breath as he searched for where the rest of the players had been thrown. It was an absolute disaster around him, given that players are experiencing the awful feedback from the teleportation magic.

Knowing that he doesn’t have a lot of time to dawdle around, Astor turned from side to side, searching for his feline companion, @Ilusa Nakhalee . “Ilusa, let’s go stop some cultists. Just protect the front of the assault and we should be able to break through the swarm of enemies.”

Turning over to, @Gwyn ap Herne , he recognized the large woman whom he had slaughter some vampire wurms with a while back. “Hey, archer woman, can you watch for cultist mages lying in ambush? They probably know that we’re storming the temple already. It might be bad if our team unexpectedly bathe in fire.”

Then, his attention shifted onto @Kyupin Felnya , whom he shouted to as well, “You, tinier archer, cover the side and the rear once we break into the temple? If the cultists aren’t dealt with on the side, they are going to flank us!”

It was sweltering hot and there was scarce a moment where Alpha wasn't sweating under her arms, on her back, and in other places that she herself didn't know existed on her body. She enjoyed quests and such as any other kid would when they were introduced to a highly realistic fantasy game where they could do anything they wanted. Sure, she did her fair share of treacherous journeying and dangerous combat. She spent cold nights under a sleeping bag and hungry days after splurging all her gold on buying those cute bunny slippers. There was one thing she couldn't get used to, though. Heat. And it seems like her volcanic surroundings were just like the simmering Summer sun amplified up to a hundred.

She panted before unwrapping another waterskin pouch and sunk its contents to the bottom of her throat, the cold liquid soaking at the back of her throat as she took a moment to appreciate just how nice it was to have a drink around here. And then she looked up from her hiding spot; a nice spot chosen out of all the safe nooks and crannies in this cultist temple. And then, as a drop of water dripped down her throat and sizzled onto the floor, she struck.

Blade drawn forward, she launched herself towards the ringleader of this archaic ritual. A cocky smirk was settled on her face as she plunged the blade in. "Beat this!" she grinned before somersaulting back. The man was not grievously wounded by any means; in fact, she had inflicted damage but not enough to bring down the hulking Father of Flames. Well, if he wasn't injured. She grinned at his fallen body and cheered, with her blade held up high: "Team Alpha for the win!"

"Time to get serious," He muttered to himself as he walked through the gates to the temple, there were bodies everywhere, it seems he was late to the party. Walking through the courtyard, he drew his Odachi as the minions of the Father of Flames came upon him crude weapons of their cult. He chuckled as he went on the offensive, empowering his blade with the dark energies that flowed through his body. he charged the first man, bringing down his mighty blade upon, cutting the fool down with a horizontal slash, he used his skill in arcanamancy to teleport himself beyond the other two that had tried to kill him from behind. They didn't even see it coming when he beheaded the two of them. turning around he saw another cultist too dazed to move, drawing energy from his body and into his index and middle fingers combined together, he fired off one of his Arcanamanc spells at the woman, a purple ray of light ripped through her body like paper before she fell to the ground lifeless.
"I guess that was a warm up?" He shrugged his shoulders as he made his way into the Temple

Cultists, bloody cultists. Why can't anyone ever just take up an honest profession, like fishing or underwater basket weaving? It was one thing to be dissatisfied with how your life happens to be going, but trying to wipe the slate clean for everyone was a jackass move. And look at those poor statues, the ones of Idna were usually quite pretty, such a shame. Err he would follow... There! He'd follow that person.

"Pardon me miss," Ozwin shouted as he ran after @Stelluna , lighting beginning to dance around the prongs of his trident, "I hope you don't mind me coming along, seems rude to not escort a lady as she kills bloodthirsty cultists." Ozwin burst into the room after here and dropped to one knee holding his trident much like a rifle as electricy

Was she an idiot? Surely, running into two of her biggest fears was not a logical action for an anxiety-ridden woman. Offline, just being near a gas stove that was lit would make her jump- this place was quite literally filled with flames! Then, there was the fact that she'd died already in a cathedral. Who in their right mind, after that, rushed into a temple to join a boss battle?

Still, she was going to do it. Her nature magic wasn't going to do much good, most likely, but she hoped some of the minions would at least be easily taken down by minor traps. Joining what had been dubbed the 'green' team merely out of her love for the color, she rushed to the side of a stranger- only to find herself sliding on ice not long after setting her vine traps, landing herself into a face-plant not long after.

"Ow..." With a groan, she struggled to her feet, sliding herself towards less slippery ground. Grinning to @Temperance, who she'd vaguely seen make the ice, she gave a thumbs up. "Good plan! I'm not very strong, but I can help trap them with this, if you don't mind a little co-op!"

Ursula scratched the back of her head nervously. She always felt awkward among people for just how weird and unusual her situation was - a lack of memories before she woke up in the Maithen Woodlands and the ability to use weird magic just like the newcomer did not put her in a great spot. Who would guess that a single tap in some sort of magic tablet would warp her immediately to an arena, for Endra’s sake? Damned be her curiosity, because tapping that green shining option was the end of her mining activities.

After taking in all information from the shiny and magic things (UIs and messages), Ursula hurriedly followed along as she did not want to be bisected by the portal — after going through a hell of an experience when entering the magic portal they arrived in a place where embers, smoke and ashes were commonplace. What a warm welcome!

As the adventurers started making their way through the bridges and fighting (or sneaking) past the gates, Ursula followed @Temperance planning to make use of her opening. Before she slid on the ice, the blacksmith jumped and pointed both arms to the temple’s structures. Her armor’s gloves were shot like rockets, grabbing on the temple’s walls. The extended arms reeled her in, pulling her up to the ceiling once she was inside. From her large backpack, small spider automatas dropped, causing small explosions on vital points of many cultists.

“Aaaaaaye! Ain’t this one hell of a party!?”

One thing about being the newcomer of this game was that he has no time to know what he got himself into. The investigation in Norforva was a bit chilling and unnerving for him to process, but learning about the cult's twisted plans to summon some kind of creature was enough to make him disbelieved, which he was still processing that this game was too lifelike to his liking. Still, he managed to recover enough to join the fight against this twisted cult.

Once he witnessed several adventurers had their turn on attacking the cultists, Verity decided to act next. With the Breeze Shroud cast behind him, he charged in with his sword, which he gave a few slashes to the remaining cultists. Unlike before, his swings were not a rough as his first days as a newcomer as he was now accustomed to his weapon of choice. And thanks to his spell, he was able to use it not just as an offensive spell, but as a way to increase his speed with the wind acted as a boost for his legs.

Regardless, it might be enough to slow down enough of their enemies to pass through.

Sharara wasn't usually the type to get involved in these grand sweeping adventures, saving the world wasn't really on her to do list. Especially since she wasn't really interested in politics or the human kingdoms or whatever was going on in the day to day minutia of the game. But when it came right down to it, people were in danger and heroes would always respond to that danger. No matter how much it bored them, no matter how much they didn't understand it.

If there were cultists trying to hurt common folk then it was her job... Her duty, to attempt to save them.

So here she was charging in alongside a bunch of other players, most of which she didn't even recognize at all. All of them splitting up to take down these robed cultists in order to stop some grand ritual. And that's why she hefted her massive blade, cutting a mighty swath through as many of these cultists as she possibly could. Her masteries weren't that impressive at this point in the game, but she could at least try her best.

"I didn't think you cultists would be so on FIRE to get a butt whoopin from a bunch of adventurers!"
