Perhaps if she walked into a crowd of underage Yladians, she might blend in.

Personality

A shy and meek girl, Sylpha Astarte could be best described as a wallflower in-game. Being new to the world of online games – and partly by accident for that matter – she is expectedly wary of her new surroundings akin to a newborn fawn in its first days. As such, she tends to think of actions and process their possible outcomes first before actually acting upon her intentions; a trait passed on from her player’s job as a pâtissier where even the simplest miscalculations would mean the difference between a fluffy soufflé or a collapsed pile of disappointment.

Despite being overly cautious about everyone and everything, Sylpha is nevertheless willing to try out new things and experiences in the hopes of giving her some much-needed inspiration in baking. Thus, given the proper motivation, she could be coaxed into exploring some dangerous ruin beneath the earth, go fishing in a monster-infested ocean, or gather for rare herbs and spices in a deathtrap of a forest. Still, being new to the concept of games, it would be wise not to expect too much from her as she has yet to master the finer points of Terrasphere, or VR gaming for that matter.

She has a height complex, which makes for quite the ironic situation given she chose to make such a short Yladian. It can only be blamed by her overly cautious handling of the game.

Biography

Born in Japan, Erika Reid discovered her talents at baking early and went to culinary school, where she continued to hone the talent. She managed to land a job at the Dominique Ansel Bakery in Tokyo as pâtissier. Through continued efforts, she eventually moved to the branch in New York. Even though she was producing someone else's menu day by day, being on the team allowed her to grow as a chef and pâtissier. New techniques, new flavors, she had the time to work on them, though it would still take many years before she would have enough ability to open her own store.

She was never big on gaming to begin with, so imagine her surprise when a thumb drive fell out of her working cap one day at the end of her shift. Nobody owned up to it even after a week, so she took it home. However, she wasn't so curious as to actually open it, so it would be months until she plugged it into her computer wondering if she could obtain any inspiration for it.
