As you slowly come to, you could feel your bare skin against the cold stone floor. You are able to recall the long march you had to do as Falderen’s prisoners with the bag over your head, but you can’t remember your arrival at all. Given that you have been stripped of your belonging and had had your attire replaced with dirty rag, all the while having your wrists bound by rope, you can assume that your captives had knocked you out before they turned you into the model image of a prisoner.

You are able to use your palm menu, however, the communication button was grayed out. If you went into your inventory, you will see that it is completely empty. If you tapped on the logout button, a warning popped up saying that due to you being in a dangerous area, your character will immediately die if you go through with it.

Once your eyes have adapted to the darkness, you realize that you are among acquaintances. However, tried as you might, you can’t even make out their faces because it is too damn dark! Your only source of light came from the heavy barred door in front of you (1). If you looked outward, you can see parts of hallway A and B with a dimmed light coming from down hallway A.

When other people started to wake up and move around, you realized that your cell was quite compact. There was a little bit of walking room, but not much.

At some point, two guards, one with the ringed-eyes and one without dragged someone down hallway B, stopping at the door into your cell. The normal looking guard rustled with his key before he jammed it into the keyhole, opened the door, and threw @Kyupin Felnya into the cell. The two left as quickly as they came in.

After the commotion die down, you noticed a few things.
    • On the left side of the room (2), you can feel that the wall is slightly crumbly. In fact, you can remove a few loose stones here and there, but eventually encounter sand and dirt… Was it some kind of wall filling? Did some poor bastard spend their time making this, or was your desperation to get out so great that you are imagining things?
    • On the other side of the room (3), the floor tile was rather unstable, you nearly cut your feet walking through it.
    • If you placed your ears against the wall at the back of the cell (4), you can hear intelligible chatters, it seemed that this cell in particular was connected to another chamber that was occupied.
    • Lastly, you can see a guard with a torch coming down from hallway A, stopping at your cell and looking inside with his creepy ringed-eyes before moving down hallway B. With the clock from your palm menu, 2 hours later, you noticed that a mage with a blueish light came down the hall and doing some kind of gestures at the wall and passed by your cell without looking in. 2 hours later, the guard with the torch returned; it was a set routine!
    Kyupin Felnya Story

Earlier… You are woken by cold water splashing against your face. As you slowly came you the sensation of a sharp pain shooting from your elbow up to your bicep force you to go from groggy to alert in within a few seconds. When you turn your head to your right, all your eyes could focus on was the sight of your purple hand pinned against the table you were uprightly strapped to. Fortunately, you can’t even feel it at this point, the thing that really bothered you was the fact that your arm from the elbow down was completely displaced, twisted and bent in the opposite direction it should be; you weren’t sure if the bones were connected at this point… Thanks to the miracle that was the pain setting, you could somewhat have a rational internal monologue as you experience all of this without passing out or shrieking from the pain.

Whenever you finish reacting to it, you could see golden hair at the corner of your eyes. Your attention immediately snapped back to yourself when you saw a guard removing the massive iron spike that was pinning your hand onto it. It felt a bit funny, almost as though you could feel a cool breeze passing through the cavity in the mid of your palm. Once that was over, your arm fell down in a comical manner, swinging softly at your side. At this point, it seemed to remain attached only because of the flesh and skin. It seemed like you were tortured, but you can’t remember anymore… it seemed like something that happened so long ago.

As the guards grabbed onto your arms and dragged you away, you could see the man with the golden hair again, it was Astor. It seemed he was strapped down on a wooden X while a man in a black robe was positioning a wooden wedge underneath his nail. The man had a mallet in his hand and seemed to be saying something to Astor, who was looking at the wedge in horror. Despite the ringing in your ears stopping you from listening in on their conversation, you could hear Astor’s blood curdling shriek as the wedge ripped through the tip of his finger, plying his nail open like someone was shucking a bloody oyster… The last thing you saw as you were pulled out of the room was Astor’s writhing uncontrollably against his restraints.

Once you were out of the room, your consciousness came and went, you did, however, remember that it was straight, right, left, left before you are thrown into a jail cell…

She woke to cold stone beneath her. She woke to a line of rock, her face pressed against it in a boneless heap of not-quite-agony, and for a moment she was at the cliffs. Her mind was entirely convinced she had never left their base, still laying broken under the anchors with her hip and leg nothing but useless meat shielding shattered bones. These weren't the cliffs though. Even with the agony and the shame, they had still towered over her with something like protective might. They had taught her a lesson and it had been done with. They were still familiar and she could see hours over the years spent clinging to them in the climb. Here was not familiar, it wasn't home, and the sun hadn't woken her gently to the sound of the forest living uncaring of her plight.

Gwyn blinked slowly, hyperaware of the world around her. A carved stone floor. A prison cell. No armor. The ambush. No tames. The storm of arrows and thunder of an army. No weapon. All those throats ripe for her to fit her teeth around in a lovely ivory necklace that bit down and down and down.

The ranger might have let herself stay in the dazed heap longer, but the creak of the cell bade otherwise. There wasn't any time for loathing herself and there was even less time to sit around licking her wounds like a beat dog. With a snarl she jerked her head and torso up and snapped a leg up under her. It wasn't a good stance, but it was enough of a hold to lunge. She didn't get to. She saw guards in a horrific halo around her kitten. No armor. They threw her forward and the fight was gone in that moment as she used the single bare foot to shove herself beneath the Felis' mangled form in an attempt to break her fall. No weapon. Sharp blue eyes didn't leave @Kyupin Felnya as she tried her damnedest to catch her on her shoulder or thighs, anything softer than the hard cobble floor, to curl herself around the smaller figure as if that could protect her. No Vulcan. It was too late to protect.

Gwyn opened her mouth to speak, but bit down when all that worked its way out of her throat was the beginnings of a sob.

Action: Gwyn wakes up and hears the cell door opening. She readies herself to throw herself at the guards, but sees Kyupin and instead tries to catch her and break her fall.

Ashiore came to a while ago, but everything still hurt so badly that she didn't feel like going against her body when it practically begged her to just lie still and not aggravate anything. She must have passed out sometime but trying to recall anything beyond the arduous walk worsened her headache, so she gave that up soon. Ambush... Naixi roaring in pain... beyond that, nothing.

She couldn't stay slumped over forever. There was movement around her, bodies pushing against each other, forced close. So, they weren't corpses. Good. That was... very good.

(Remember what that reanimated elven corpse looked like? Of course she did. She remembered its half-rotten face, partly stripped to the bone, she remembered what it looked like spilling out of the bag- stop. Don't think about it. Don't wonder if the bodies next to you are like that, falling apart and decaying. Stop.)

She tried gathering herself. Spoke a bit with the others in the cell, found out that one of them was Gwyn, another Corvella. People she knew, some not very well, but the familiarity was heartening. As much as anything could be heartening in this situation, stripped down to rags and tossed in a tiny cell with their hands bound.

Light filled the cell like a blow to the head. Ashiore had to instantly blink away tears; suddenly being given light to see was too much, and when the doors slammed shut again after a dull thud filled the cell. She was blinking away spots long enough that she missed what had happened. The warm splash of blood was unmistakable though. Someone was hurt? Forms were difficult to make out in the dark, the distinction between one body and the next difficult to make out, but that was definitely another person there with- Gwyn? Or Corvella? Damn it, too dark to tell.

"Who's hurt?" Ash asked, doing her best to stumble over. With her hands restrained, it wasn't easy to get a feel around for what was happening, but she found the source of the- Oh... this was supposed to be an arm?

Damn it! Fear focused her mind. The healing incantation came to her clear as day, though as the chant left her lips she felt... oddly drained.

That was unimportant right now. She had to focus.

Action: Scramble over to Gwyn and Kyupin, try to cast a healing spell on Kyupin.

Kyupin was shocked into consciousness once more as her body rattled helplessly against... something. The motion jolted her pitiful excuse of an arm, drawing a guttural whine of pain. Her heartbeat pounded in her ears, almost drowning out the sound of the people talking around her. She was in a cell. With somebody. 'Somebody's, maybe. She tried to find the energy in her to move, but... nothing.

She had to do something. To tell them what she'd seen. Her mouth parted, but no words came out. She'd screamed her throat raw earlier, back in that room, hadn't she? She couldn't... she couldn't quite remember what had happened.

Other than the holes in both her hands and her mangled arm, serving as a reminder of how they'd held her up, there was nothing else, right? She squeezed her eyes shut. Flashes of blonde hair. A scream, blood-curdling and slicing through the fog of pain. Astor. The King. She whimpered. Hands, pulling at her. Light-rimmed eyes. Straight. Right. Left. Left. More sound broke through the ringing in her ears and she strained to hear.

She knew that voice, didn't she?

With effort, Kyupin nudged her good-ish arm towards the mysterious person cradling her with their body.

    "G...wyn...?"
she gasped, barely managing the whisper.

She tried to reach out to her friend, the source of that not-quite-sob, but her hand fell shy of a cheek, the pain keeping her from offering her comfort.

    "... are... o...kay? Don't.... cry..."

Action: Attempts to move but is about as useful as Magikarp using 'Splash'. In too much pain to really do anything.

Corvella woke up with a shocking gasp. The events flashed in her mind like a bad dream "Oh God.." She tried to open her eyes to look around, but it was already open. Did she go blind? Few seconds later, her eyes adapted to the darkness, giving an outline of where she is. She tried to get on her feet, with her body felt so weak physically and spiritually. Whatever they did to her, it reduces her ability to use magic. There was two other person with her in this small, enclosed room. Talking to them revealed it was Gwyn, that she had already known and Ashiore, which apparently was also in the Azog business thingy.

With the room so dark they had a hard time navigating in it, she found some unusual things. Particularly the unstable floor tile as she stepped on it and let out a small "Ouch!" She looked at her bound arms; it was held together with a rope. The floor tile's edge were quite sharp, that she plan to try cutting the rope with it. After letting know her fellow inmates(?) she crouched down. Noticing the lack of weight in her body, she just realized she had been stripped from her heavy armor. She then tried cut the rope loose with the sharp part of the floor tile. Doing it with bound hands proved to be a daunting task.

Whatever the outcome is, she had been doing it for gods know how long. It was at the moment the door was opened, the light came in and someone was thrown inside like a ragdoll she stopped to not attract attention to her. The guards doesn't seem to pay attention to anyone in the cell though as they leave quickly. She stood up to investigate the thrown body with the others "..Who?"

Action: Wakes up, found the sharp floor tile while moving. Trying to use the floor tile to cut her ropes, but stopped at the moment Kyupin was thrown in.

@Ashiore Evretto You find your magic rather weakened from the "magically sapped" condition and also struggling to cast your magic with your wrist-bound in such a way. It seemed you could only muster a meager heal and restore 2HP for Kyupin this cycle.

@Corvella The edge of the upturned tile was enough to eat through some of the rope, slightly loosening your binding. It would only take minor efforts to remove it after you finish your business.

@Kyupin Felnya You find the supposedly soothing heal rather moot against the intense pain every time you move so much as an inch. Someone really ought to try and splint that useless, swinging arm of yours; it wouldn't take much effort if there were supplies...

If any of you looked at the time in your palm menu, it was roughly 19:00 you would see that there is about 1 hour left before the patrolling guard pass by your cell once more (20:00). The cell remain as small and as cold as ever. The temperature is quickly dropping, heralding the coming of the late evening winds. There was not a single sound of wind, however, indicating that your cell was perhaps not in the outermost position.

    Notes:
    • Kyupin heals 2HP; 2 more healing attempts as a minor action needed before her condition improves.
    • @Ashiore Evretto loses 4 EN.

Oh no, what happened to her arm? Corvella wondered, looking at Kyupin's right arm which is not supposed to bend that way. Did they torture her that bad? Ashiore quickly came to her side to try and heal the arm, to only little success thanks to the rope binding her hands and something those people did to them. If we can get her hands free, she would be healing Kyupin's right arm more quickly. Without further thinking, she went back to cutting her rope with the sharp floor tile. The rope is already damaged enough, that some quick tile slashes on it should free her hands. "There we go." It would still hangs on her wrists should it be cut, keeping it natural when the guard came back for a patrol.

She flexes and bone cracking sounds could be heard. Just how long they have been captured? She opened the palm menu, where there is nothing in her equipment anymore except 'Prisoner Rags' and 'Rope Cuffs'. Her eyes gazed on the clock '19:00'. Now she knows the answer to her previous question. According to @Gwyn ap Herne, she could gather more information on when the guard will come back. We need to watch the timing to not mess up. Corvella doesn't want a broken arm.

After letting the others know about her freed hands, she helped @Ashiore Evretto to unbind the rope on her hands in a haste. With the help of the sharp floor tile and her free hands, the task proved to be more effective. It quickly tore the fibers of the rope when more strength is applied. When Corvella successfully freed Ash from her bindings, she will go to Gwyn to help her with the ropes. "Just wait, I'm going to free you guys real quick."

Action: Cut her remaining rope with the floor tile, going to help Ashiore to cut the rope with Corvella's free hand and the floor tile, the try to cut Gwyn's rope should she suceed.

It was still almost impossible to see anything. But Ashiore was getting pretty decent with healing, and she knew how most of her spells worked by now. Even beyond just having her hands bound, that Magically Sapped condition was no joke. She grit her teeth. Damn it, this was all she was good for and she couldn't even do this right!

There was some shifting behind her, but Corvella's form appearing nearby to help her with her bound wrists solved that mystery. Not that there were many other options for what else could possible have been going on. "Thanks," she said quickly, turning back to Kyupin. It probably made her seem a bit rude. But she had to keep trying to fix the mess that was Kyupin's arm, now that she had a bit more freedom than before.

If there was further talk of strategy or planning, Ashiore didn't pay attention. All her focus now was on healing Kyupin, doing her best to fix up the arm. Every time she had to touch the arm to heal it she kept her touches as light as possible, trying not to cause any more pain. It was probably a futile effort, though.

And if it happened that they were going to move Kyupin away from the door, Ashiore did what she could to help with that as well. Probably not much, since Gwyn seemed to have that handled pretty well. But frustrated that her spells weren't doing as much as she wanted them to, she would take any chance she could to do something.

Action: Continue healing Kyupin. If needed and/or possible, assist Gwyn with moving Kyupin to the back of the cell, away from the door.

The cold stone in her stomach, a kernel of fear of rage of horror of disgust, felt like it weighed more than all the world. Kyupin laid broken in her lap and hidden in her shadow and the dark of the cell and there was nothing she could do. They were trapped like rats and at a terrible disadvantage. At least they weren't alone. The gravest mistake the Falderens had made was placing them in cells together. Together they could be better.

    Gwyn had to be better.

Kyupin asked if she was alright. Gods above, she needed to be better.

She bit back the emotions crowding her thoughts and swallowed hard around the awful noises building in her chest. Tears wouldn't help Kyupin. Ashiore's magic would. She needed to fix whatever seemed to drain it, to nudge the trickle of health into a raging torrent. They talked together and planned what they could with how little they knew, but there was only so much that could be done. The broken tile was a blessing and the illusory knight she had met in one of the Silent Sisters was freed. In no time she had Ashiore's hand unbound and then Gwyn's own. Gwyn- be it as Sabine or otherwise- had always known to appreciate her upper body strength. She had spent years cultivating it in the waking world and in the game had easily follow suit. It held her above the unforgiving earth, it notched her arrows and let them flew, it was something to be proud of. Never had she needed it for something gentle, kind, and caring. Here though? Here she slid her arms under the Felis' slighter form and hauled her up as gently as she could. She had to be careful of the arm Ashiore remained latched to with her magic.

Moving her wasn't difficult, not with how little she weighed and how short of a distance. The cell wasn't exactly expansive. The archer was loathe to leave her side, but this wasn't where she was needed. As soon as Kyupin was settled, the archer brushed some loose hair from her face before nodding to Ashiore. A quick and silent stride brought her back closer to the bars of the cell.

The fierce white glow of her Hunting-improved Investigation Mode lit up her irises. She'd spend every minute until she heard that guard on their way scouring the inside of their cell. The door. The hallway both ways. The opposing wall. She'd listen. She'd look. The huntress would have her revenge as soon as they had their freedom.

Action: Moving Kyupin to the back wall with Ashiore's help. Spending the rest of the time Investigating the cell and hallway.

No matter how gentle Gwyn and Ashiore were trying to be, and they really were trying, it hurt. Each slight movement felt like a hammer to the right side of her body, a jolt of sharp, seemingly unending pain driving her teeth further into her already bleeding lips. But she could not cry out; could not make herself a bigger burden than she already was.

So she swallowed down her sobs and chewed through the bloody skin on her lip, letting them move her around as needed.

Kyupin shivered as her scarcely-covered back was pressed against the cool stone of the wall. At least she was away from the cell doors. She'd prefer to be even further away, lest the guards decide she needed another round, but the cell was only so big. She needed a distraction. Something. Anything.

The muffled chatter on the other side of the wall caught her foggy attention. Shuffling around, Kyupin pressed her feline ear to the wall, straining to make out what the words actually were. She kept one eye on Gwyn though, ready to drop her head if needed so the pausing guard wouldn't make any assumptions.

Action: Is moved to the back wall (4), Felis ear pressed to the wall and is trying to hear what's being said on the other side.

@Corvella You spent a lot of time filing away the rope that was eating into everyone's hands. Your effort paid off, however, and you were able to cut your party members free.

@Ashiore Evretto Without any impediment, you find your heal stronger than the last attempt, this time, healing Kyupin for a lot instead of the meager attempt last time.

@Gwyn ap Herne Nothing was really of note in investigation mode that you, yourself haven't seen before. However, the moment you turned toward the crumbly part of the wall, you noticed that the UI identify the wall injury to be man-made and that the stones are stacked out of order; what could that mean? This seems to imply that the last occupant of this cell must have spent a lot of time doing something with it, and most people without a high level of Hunting would doubtlessly missed this subtle detail. As far as interaction goes, you likely have to figure that out yourself.

@Kyupin Felnya The sound resembled that of laughter and merriment, which you are able to discern thanks to your Felis' ears. However, you noticed that there was a sharp voice of someone complaining loudly, you can't make out specific words, but it sounded something like... "What the fuc--? I told yo-- Hurry the fuck up-- chicken--!!!"

    Notes:
    • Kyupin heals for 11HP, the pain stopped. Change the status description to "Your right arm is usable but accompanied by a lot of pain." The condition changed early due to a near critical heal.

Nothing stood out but that damned wall. Nothing else to see, nothing else to use, nothing else to offer them a leg up a way out anything of any fucking use meanwhile Kyupin suffered and Ashiore was too kind for this and Corvella seemed too noble a soul to be in this swill and fuck it all. It was safer to wait. Smarter.

She didn't care. Gwyn wanted out and the archer was not a woman known to give an inch. This would not be where she would back down from a challenge when she could see a way out. Every minute they wasted another one of the players or surviving NPCs from Astorea could be in the same position Kyupin had been. She had seen others she knew on the field before. The sharp-eyed Beretta. Their fiery martyr Eleanor. Alpha was still just a child, for fucks sake. She remembered seeing Roland as well. Near to Astor. Astor. Currently being tortured, was actively in the position Kyupin had been as far as they knew.

How long had they been unconscious? How long had Astor and Kyupin been conscious under the nail, the needle, the driving fist and boot?

With a violent movement she turned from the bars and began working at the wall. "Cover me." The stones were wrong like their entire situation and she would pick it apart. Her nails weren't long, but they were enough to dig in between the loose and incorrect set of the pieces to pull them away from one another. Gwyn wasn't fool enough to go throwing them about and making a larger mess for Corvella to cover. The extra second it took to place them in neat stacks to the side was fine. Plus, it'd be easier to grab one and softball pitch it through a skull if they were nearby. As soon as they were out of her way she'd set to digging through the sediment behind and keep digging until there was a light, was a room, was a target for the first pound of blood and flesh she sought to claim.

Action: Gwyn begins quickly, but neatly, dismantling the stones and working on the wall behind it unless something else is revealed of use.

    Special Event

@Gwyn ap Herne You dug and dug, working your nails through the thick sediment and eventually hitting another layer of loose stone. If you had pushed a little harder, the stones would have crumble and fall onto the floor, giving you passage into the next room over, making quite a bit of noise.

The new location was actually a cell identical to the one your party's currently residing in, though it has deteriorated quite a lot. If you were still in investigation mode, you would have been alerted to a dozen or more blunt spoon hidden in the dirt, it seemed both prisoner had the same idea and managed to connect the cells.

Despite the darkness, noticed a barred door, which was on the right hand side if you crawled through. This door led into same hallway your cell was attached to. With careful inspection, it seemed that the door appear to be rather faulty.

Some time has passed since she freed everyone from their bindings. Gwyn steadily removed the wall pieces, one by one. The rest of the fillings were dug with her nails. She watched her digging, occasionally helping moving and stacking the stones. The effort paid off, as the loose wall on the other side of the wall were spotted. It crumbles and fell into the other room as it was pushed. Another cell, identical but not the same.

Corvella and the others were rejoiced by their findings. Not only they found potential weapons (in the form of spoons), but further investigation shown that that cell's door was rather faulty. Hey, we might break this open easily! She went through the passage into the other cell with Gwyn.

Before going to inspect the door more, she looked back and spoke to Gwyn "I think we still have much time before the guard return. Let's try to open this and then put it back again and when he passed this cell, we go and strike!" With now Ash's hands free, Kyupin's right arm would be healed fully soon enough. Corvella believe they could take on the guard when he goes to their cell to investigate.

Action: Went into the cell on the left with Gwyn, inspecting the door for ways to open it. She will try to open the door quietly, if she succeeds she will put it back to the way it looked before to not catch attention.

With her hands free thanks to the work of Corvella, her spells came much more smoothly to her. It almost felt as if she had overloaded the spell, and it took a surprising amount of energy out of her. But she couldn't argue with the results. Kyupin's arm seemed much better, though it was hard to really tell in the dark. If nothing else, the pain was fading.

When Gwyn uncovered the tunnel through the crumbling wall, Ash couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. She wasn't normally claustrophobic, but she was definitely starting to understand the fear after spending so long in this run-down cell under such awful circumstances.

After the discussion on what their next steps were, Ashiore agreed to whatever was being discussed. She didn't feel much like thinking too deeply about their current plans when she still could barely keep her head on straight over present concerns. As long as it would get them out of here, that was a good plan in her book.

Ash continued healing. Though Kyupin's arm was better, it still didn't look fully right. Besides, it made her feel better to know she was doing something useful, so really this was as much for her benefit as it was for Kyupin's.

Action: Heal Kyupin's arm Stay near the back of the cell and get ready for the guard to approach.
