    The Clockwork Ruins

Out in the depths of Adecus Forest, there is an ancient ruin hidden behind purple flowers and green buds that grow throughout the seasons. On the outskirts lay inventions of a caliber that could be considered nearly unheard of in its sophistication and expertly-made creation. The recent discovery has been made many years after the relic was built, the doors weakened and rotted with age. The stench of maggots and wildlife have invaded the corridors of the architecture and now it's ready for adventurers to travel through it. Seek fortune in The Clockwork Ruins or maybe just find a premature death instead.

  2. Roland lazily lounged in a bed purple flowers in front of the dungeons entrance. He had actually found it quite some time ago, but that was before he had been able to get any kind of weapons or armor. In fact, it had been his first day playing, as he wandered the forests looking for left over treasure he could use to equip himself with. In the end all he had found was the egg that he kept safe in the pouch on his hip, he had a feeling it would be worth something eventually. Despite not finding any immediately useful gear he had overtime been able to accept a few menial fetch quests that allowed him to build up enough in game currency to get lower end gear, and now he felt he was properly outfitted to return.

At least that was part of his reasoning the other was with the notification of a raid soon on its way he thought it best for him to cut his teeth on a smaller dungeon first. That said, as he had approached the entrance earlier, a dialogue box had popped up informing him of the instance. This annoyed Roland at first, since he preferred to play without the in-game interface constantly spamming his display, but he was glad it did. It detailed the mission briefly stating something about it being some sort of steampunk dungeon, but more importantly detailed a suggested group size of three to a maximum of five. This made it seem doubtful that Roland could simply solo the instance, at least not at his current level. Again he decided to resort to using the in game world channel to see if any one felt up for the challenge.

No one responded immediately so he had decided to wait, hoping that a pair or team of adventures would come and help him clear it. Luckily the dungeon was in a starting area meaning there were no real threats to worry about, so the adventurer lowered his guard and laid out on a bed of flowers, taking a short nap underneath the warm sun.

  3. Wendy was having a good time playing Terrasphere today as usual. She still had not brought it to her school's lost and found but that's okay! She was sure that the person who had it would be alright without it for a little bit longer! After all, video games were addictive and they should spend some time outside! Meanwhile, Wendy sat in her bedroom attached to VR for who knows what day in a row. Her parents did not know she had it. This was unlike her but she really liked this game, like a lot.

Magi Heart was in a town just finishing up a small quest involving saving a villager's dog. It brought the young girl so much joy to see the smiles she brought to people's faces here. These NPC people were so neat and real like! Happily collecting her reward and marching around town to do more chores. Magi Heart was becoming known as the little errand girl rather than a magical girl heroine but that was okay for now. She did not want to fight anything too gross and had a lot to still learn. Her bow and arrow missed a lot and her magic powers, that were SO COOL, still were taking a lot of getting used to. She did not know exactly what kind of spells to do with them. Healing sure but there were a lot of abilities that magical girls should have, and they needed to be named really cool and stuff!

While doing tasks Wendy would think on these things. Although that would sometimes cause her to get lost in such a big world. Sometimes though, getting lost was fun too!

*Music* "Fighting evil by moonlight, making love by daylight!"

Oh, her special alert jingle! Cool beans!

Magi Heart checked her menu and saw that someone was sending out a request for help with a dungeon quest! Wow, she had never been to a dungeon yet! Maybe this was her chance... but what about the monsters? She had to be tough! Yeah, she could do this! Maybe...

Magi Heart quickly checked she was ready to go and then headed towards the location after sending a reply to the sender saying she would like to help.

  4. "Just how far from a town could I be?"

Over his last few play sessions, Beatle had decided to throw caution to the wind and wander into the forest, embracing the Bardic tendencies of lore. What he hadn't accounted for was the sheer size of the map that the game used. What he thought would just be a fun little journey had turned into a multi-hour hike through thick foliage and several monsters, all of which Beatle opted to run from instead of fight. His Guitar made a better instrument than a weapon, so rather than risk combat and end up dying, Beatle practiced his Rouge mastery by evading and sneaking around enemy camps.

Just as he began to think that there really was nothing to do out in the woods, Beatle stumbled out of a bush nearby. The young bard recovered neatly, dusting himself off a bit and looking around, hoping that nobody had been there to witness his mistake.

That's when he noticed the machinery, followed by the grand entrance to what appeared to be a dungeon of some sort. To confirm his suspicion, a notification appeared on his screen, alerting him to the dungeon's name and party requirements. Beatle looked around the area and, sure enough, there was someone relatively close by, napping in a field of flowers. Hoping that the person was already waiting for a group, Beatle resigned himself to sitting on top of one of the large machines and playing his guitar, filling the air with a warm, summery vibe.

"Hopefully they have room for a bard..."

  5. Ortix's head was still throbbing from the quest he quite literally just got out of. He attempted to walk off his headache on a detour through the lush greenery of Adecus Forest on his way back to town. The forest was very thick in the area he now walked through. Ortix was careful to watch for spiders, snakes and other poisonous critters though. The amount of insects that buzzed in face face was innumerable, they seemed to have swarmed everything that moved by the thousands. Ortix now sought a break from the cluttered forest and walked towards an opening. He followed the light until he broke free of the sea of trees and vines. Ortix found himself on the top of a cliff, down below was a man walking around using the in game interface. A few seconds later Ortix saw a message pop up in the chat box for the area he was in. It was the same guy that was underneath of him. Ortix made an attempt at getting the man's attention, but he proved to be too far away as the man clearly could not hear him from above. So Ortix decided to respond to him in chat.

Yo! I'm right above you and coming down now. I'm down for a dungeon!

Ortix Followed the cliff side leading down, observing what looked like the dungeon entrance. He was careful not to step too far towards the edge and plummet to the ground. Eventually he got to a point where he could simply hop from the edge and land safely. He ended up a little ways from the dungeon using this method, but it was no matter as he could just follow the cliff side back. After a short jog back, Ortix saw the man laying in a bed of flowers.

"Heyyyy! Heyyyy! It's me! I messaged you earlier about the dungeon!" Ortix sprinted over towards the man, waving.

  6. Michael had a spree of bad luck today online. Left out of three quests, one in which he had to go through several mods to even get a chance at, before being booted, and even to that point, he fell short of three others. At last, however, lady luck flipped a face card! A dungeon! This was a call to action! A call to adventure, a call to JUSTICE! Cynesiege took great haste to reply to the fellow. The thunking of heavy, yet rusted out plate was approaching fast as the warrior began his trek out to the clockwork area. Why, what greater way to bolster his strength, resolve, and loot hoard than to fight alongside others, taking their blows and carrying them upon his righteous back? When he approached to see a group of four, his heart breathed a sigh of relief. For once, he wasn't left behind, or to the wolves. Not that it mattered, his armor plate blunted blades and halted hammers as well as stopping other tools of destruction. He waved, feeling it was right and high time to introduce himself. "You all! I saw the post upon the bulletins."

It was clear what HE was spec'd up to be, a tank, and a fierce one at that. "Whatever dangers we face below, I will face them with you, my new friends. I am Cynesiege, and I will be your shield!" he boasted, pounding a fist against his chestplate, thunderous bellows into the forest winds calling a grand echo in recourse. Well... He was certainly something. In truth, both in and out of character, Michael was at least happy to be doing something aside from sulking.

    The Hooded Figure

You all gathered here for a particular dungeon in the middle of the thicket. The opening to it is a golden gate made of materials you can't identify and the architecture is brilliant yet deceptively ancient. The door seems to be made of cogs and gears one might find in a clockwork contraption or a similar item. That was what probably led to its name, dubbed by locale as Clockwork Ruins. A bushel tilted over and hanging on wooden construction loiters around the outskirts. A mysterious stone, with two protruding plants on either end which resemble the numerous cacti of the desert, stands out in front. Perhaps you had arrived to a party of people or, maybe, you had arrived alone and had sent out the initial message to this well-fortified troupe. Either way, the important thing is that you're here. A shadowy figure notices when all of you are gathered, swooping down languidly with only an eye and its grin seen from underneath its stitched hood. Despite its two-legged nature and the intelligence shining in its eye, the beast was most certainly not human in any way, shape, or form.

"You're all here to enter the ruins, aren't you?" it cackled, the sound resounding through the hollow trees and grassy plains. When it had landed, the presence of the stealthy creature had surprised you all yet some of you took it better than others. The grinning stranger bowed in a mocking fashion, its claws poking a bit through the long, billowing sleeves. "It's been awhile since we've had visitors, you see. The place over here used to be all nice and pretty 'till it wasn't and, when it wasn't, the little rodents and birds and bugs began coming in," it explained animatedly, not even thinking about properly greeting himself to the adventurers that it had disturbed. It stepped closer to the group and more into the light, revealing a masculine yet slim figure.

It turned its back away from your group, staring at the decaying door with a minute glance. It walked up to the door, peeking its head in through one of the gaps that could only let small wildlife in and out, and sniffed. It turned its head back, staring straight at all of you. "If you want to come in, there's a way," it said, snickers just below its tone. It pointed along the corners of the door, as if trying to tell you all something that you could guess by simply looking. The hinges looked as if it were forced open by something other than the natural process of life. It would appear that someone or something strong enough could possibly pry the door open, especially with its current state.

"I'll see you in there, I hope!" it gave one last, taunting laugh at the lot of you before seemingly vanishing into thin air, not a trace remaining. The door's state, however, remained the same.

  8. At the presence of such a creature, naturally, Cyn was startled, staggering backward, almost tripping over his own heavy plate armor. While, again, it was desiccated and old, it trumped being empty handed and bare bodied. That creature, though, Cyn felt peculiar about... Listening to his words with crossed arms, the mighty, and zealous, knight took into account what this 'thing' could be, and what he could be possibly trying to get at here as far as leading them astray, or further in. When the creature exited, the knight made a straight line to the gate, nodding. "There is no further time to introduce ourselves. We must do so on the fly."

Observing the worn structure, and lowering his visor, the large man concluded that this was to be a team effort. "I cannot pry this open myself. If I could, I would, and allow everyone else through first. You there!" he pointed to the largest armed figure, the one who'd laid in the flowers. "Be a kind soul, and aid me in prying this open for our company." The knight seemed to be taking charge, perhaps it wasn't such a bad thing. Grabbing wherever he could, Cyn would await the other's joining before even attempting to pull it open. "Plus, if anything lies on the other side, we will be the first to be struck. By we, I mean me. I have no qualms with taking hits for you, or anyone here."

  9. Beep. Beep. Beep.” chimed Roland’s communication notifications as he laid on the bed of flowers. Most of it was mindless chatter on the world channel that Roland pointedly ignored, until he saw what he was looking for.

    Magi Heart

Hi, I'm Magi Heart! I'll help u! Please wait for me!

“Great.” Roland thought as he returned his head to resting on his grassy bed, “That’s at least one, even tho-“ “Beep.” His thought was cut off as he received a direct message almost immediately afterwards.

    img
    Ortix Farlin
Yo! I'm right above you and coming down now. I'm down for a dungeon!

With a quick flick of his wrist Roland closed the message as a smirk grew across his lips. “Good.” He said out loud to himself, “That will make the minimum party, looks like this getting a party together thing is easier than I thought it would be.” Content with his rosy bed, Roland waited for the arrival of his soon to be party. His rest did not last long, however, as he was soon interrupted by a sweet melody cascading through the air.

Shocked Roland quickly grabbed the hilt of his blade jumping up to this feet as he unsheathed it in one smooth motion. Several thoughts cascaded through Roland’s mind as scanned the immediate area for the source of the sound. He had been lazy, off guard, he didn’t think there was anything dangerous in this area, but he was right outside a dungeon. Thankfully, he had managed to find the musician strumming away on his guitar several feet away moments after standing up. Roland appraised the figure quickly, sighing a breath of relief once he saw he was a player character, a lower level one at that, and if the guitar was any indication he was aiming for the Bard class. “He’s not a threat,” Roland thought blissfully sheathing his sword as he beamed a large smile at the teenager, “Greetings, here for the quest eh?” Roland declared as he sat back down on the ground.

The bard wouldn’t get a chance to answer however as Ortix came jogging into the field. “At least I was expecting him.” Roland thought as he waved the Feris down, “Good to see you, we got one more on the way!” he shouted as the catperson got within earshot. Ortix was then swiftly followed by the hulk of a man, Cynsiege, who shouted out his own greeting. Roland waved him down as well, “Hello! I have a feeling we will be in needing of a shield, you’re more than welcome to join.”

In the few moments before Magi Heart showed, Roland adjusted the settings on his in game terminal sending out a party request to all four would be team members. Thinking it unwise to leave all of his realism settings on, he turned on a party tracker which would display each party members name and health in the upper left hand corner of his vision. “Judging from the state of everyone’s equipment, it’s likely me and Ortix are the highest level here. Likely we will need to be the main contributors of damage, and hope either Magi Heart or that Bard can maintain heals long enough for our new tank.” Roland thought assessing their situation before he was distracted by the odd hooded figure.

As the creature spoke, Roland could not help but be distracted by its strange limbs, and method of movements, “I don’t recognize this type of creature.” Roland thought to himself, “My instincts tell me it’s some sort of crow/man hybrid, but in that garb it’s hard to tell.” Eventually the monster left on its own accord leaving the group with the conundrum of actually getting inside. Immediately Cyn moved forward inspecting the door in earnest before turning to Roland and asking for his help in brute forcing it open. “I don’t think that’s a wise idea.” Roland said confidently striding forward poking his finger through one of the various holes in the door, “These look intentional, my guess is once enough weight is pressed against this door, some sort of trap will spring forward from it.” He moved back taking in the area as he pressed his pointer finger against his temple activating his investigation mode. As expected four things popped up immediately, the overturned bushel, the wooden construction it hung from, the mysterious stone cactus, and the door itself. Sadly, none of the contextual windows that had popped up contained any extra information to give him any kind of idea of what to do. So, Roland decided to speak his thoughts on the situation, out loud, “I know to some of you, this will be obvious but bare with me. The door is made out of clockwork, and in most games this means that the entire dungeon will have various mechanical based traps and puzzles. I think this door is our first one, this bushel and stone are exceedingly suspicious and are likely the keys to opening that door without us getting hurt, or worse.” Roland paused taking in his various teammates before continuing, “My guess is we have to turn the bushel right side up and put something inside it, whether it’s that stone or the flowers I do not know.” Again Roland paused waiting for any feedback after which he continued. “I think before we do anything though, we should settle what our roles should be on this team, to do this lets introduce ourselves and state our specialties. My name is Roland, I excel with one handed slashing weapons, and have capabilities with a bow. I believe I should fight in the front lines, to back up Cynsiege.” With a nod Roland signified he was done speaking for the time being and would then listen to everyone’s comments, and if no one attempted to do so on their own, he would try to move the stone and place it in the overturned bucket. If the stone could not be moved, for whatever reason, he would begin to gather up a collection of the flowers and place that in the bucket instead."There is definitely something I'm missing though." Roland thought regretfully, hoping one of the other teammates would figure it out.

  10. Magi Heart had a bit of a harder time than she thought finding the Clockwork Ruins. She was still getting used to the map system the game had built in. It took so long to get places too. Very life like! Wendy could not help but be kinda nervous about this quest. Her first real mission with others and her first dungeon at the same time! Wow, this was so exciting! Wendy had decided to try and role play more too. After all, that was what this game was partly about right? So, Magi Heart had to act more heroic and had to know no fear! ...That might be hard if the monsters were too scary though.

After probably passing the ruins by three times. Magi Heart would find the dungeon. There were other people here too. Magi Heart needed to introduce herself to them and be sure to pose in a cute but cool way like a true mahou shoujo heroine! Yeah! The little girl's silly idea was interrupted by the sudden appearance of... a super duper creepy hooded cat creature! Or not... it actually had a creepy cute style to it. Wendy did not know whether to hug it and touch it's adorable ears or hide behind one of the others.

After the creepy cat spoke and said really vague stuff that made Wendy's head kinda hurt a little. It disappeared! Just like that! Poof! Oh no, was it a ghost cat monster thing? That was not something Wendy wanted to deal with. She would eventually be brave and defend the world and stuff, but not now. She was not ready! Yeah that's it, so hopefully she would not have to deal with ghosts here... too much...

The guy named Roland did not seem bothered at all by the creepy cat ghost. He was really cool and had a good head on his shoulders. He was like those...cool smart guys in anime that always know what's best to do! She might be okay with him around. Wendy would take this chance to learn how pros play! Yeah this will be awesome! Running up to Roland and making a quick bow. Magi Heart looked at them all and introduced herself.

"Hi there everyone! I'm Magi Heart! A magical girl! ... um. You guys have been playing for awhile right? I might be kinda weak but I can shoot arrows and heal!"

That was awful. She had started with good role play and then became nervous. Oh well, these guys were not really role playing either. Maybe it was not cool to do that? That made no sense in a game about role playing but... okay! Magi Heart listened to strategy getting made. Mostly by the smart Roland guy. This was all serious and epic! Magi Heart gripped her small bow and hoped she had practiced enough. She had used her magic a little too, but she still had no really good ideas as to what kinds of spells to make with them. The possibilities were so vast!

  11. Ortix stood near Roland, the man he assumed to be party leader as he sent out the messaged that brought him here. Their party began to fill up soon. There was Roland, an unnamed bard, an armored tower named Cynesiege, and himself. Shortly after, a short girl arrived, introducing herself as "Magi Heart". Ortix followed Roland's example and introduced himself in a similar manner.

"My name's Ortix, I'm good with one-handed pierce type weapons, illusion magic, and have the rogue skill set. Nice to meet you all."

Immediately after introductions, a hooded cat-like humanoid appeared. Ortix wasn't very shocked by this, remembering that he himself was a cat-person. The hooded figure, however, was not a Felis, it seemed more cat than human. Truly though, Ortix didn't know for sure, it was all meaningless conjecture at the figure's appearance that hid behind the opaque darkness beneath it's hood. Then it spoke, revealing only information of an entry method and an inference that it resided within the dungeon. After speaking, it vanished into thin air. Assuming it was the work of magic or the creatures skill in the rogue-like arts, Ortix whipped out his Jinn's Eye in response and placed it over his eye in order to check for a magical trail of some sort. He was still unsure if it wasn't magic after all, if it working or not, or if the spell simply wasn't strong enough to be detected in the first place as this was his first time ever having used it.

"Nothing..." He murmured to himself in disappointment at the lack of the trail he was searching for. He looked over to Cynesiege who had now taken leadership in an attempt to pry the door open and requested Roland's aid. This was only until Roland resumed leadership in turning Cynesiege down and giving valid reason as to why.

"Traps, huh? This place is gonna suck. I like puzzles though. Anyhow, let's try what Roland said first and then I guess we can just move stuff around until something interesting happens. And if all else fails, Cynesiege, Roland, and I will go back to Plan A and make an attempt at prying that bad boy over there open. Sound good?"

    @Roland Rutledge @Magi Heart @Beatle the Bard @Cheshire @Cynesiege

  12. As more and more people arrived, Beatle grew in excitement and nervousness.

"It's gonna be such a pain to try and explain my situation, so maybe I shouldn't even try to talk? Come off as the strong silent type... yeah, that should work. Nobody will question it if i look like i know what I'm doing, right?"

So Beatle put on his best Pokerface and joined the crowd, just in time for a strange, small creature to appear and drop a hint. As fascinating as that was, Beatle was more astounded by how quickly everyone responded. Immediately, identities were thrown around and ideas were put into action. An armored man moved to the door, with the intention of prying it open by force. A straightforward answer to a rather interesting puzzle, though after looking over the group Beatle doubted there was enough muscle power for that to work.

One of the swordsman began investigating the area where the small creature appeared, and the other seemed to believe that the objects around them were related to the puzzle.

"Just from looking around the team, it's pretty obvious what everyone's assigned roles are. Mägi Heart was obviously a make of sorts, and there was a likelihood that she had healing capabilities. Ortiz and Roland would be our main sources of Damage, and Cyn would be the tank. That leaves me with the role of Healer. Simple enough, right?"

As the group talked amongst themselves, Beatle walked up to the giant door and knocked on it. It seemed too simple to be true, but why not? It made Beatle feel as though he was contributing.

When prompted for his introduction, Beatle simply took out his guitar and played a gentle melody, healing those within earshot by a small amount consistently. He only played for a few seconds to demonstrate.

"Oh man I hope they don't get mad that I can't speak. It's gonna be such a pain in the ass to message everyone individually whenever I need to say something...."

Beatles thoughts were interrupted by Ottis's suggestion, which Beatle gave a nod to. With that, he joined Roland in the search for some form of switch.

    A Box of Bones

It seemed that the general consensus of your group was to investigate the surrounding area for any sort of mechanism that could open the rune door without expending more energy than needed. The group split off, each doing their own independent work and such, holding no more contact with each other than initial greetings and agreements.

    • Beatle the Bard searched the flora and wild greens for a sign of a lever. Unfortunately, he had found none. He did, however, find inspiration for nature poems and epics.

    • Roland Rutledge had attempted to move the giant, planted stone in the front to no avail. It was an obvious result considering how deep the rock must be buried deep below. Afterwards, he went around and picked the white and green flowers and undergrowth that grew around the area.

    • Cynesiege had attempted to open the door alone but, even with his bulky physique, it was impossible to move such a thing by himself.

    • Magi Heart readied her bow and her magic for the challenges ahead. She was prepared for any battle and injury her teammates could sustain.

    • Ortix Farlin attempted to find magic in the area with his Jinn's Eye but had found not a spark or trace of it. Perhaps once he has situated himself inside the dungeon, he would find more success in his endeavor. For now he would investigate the area along with the majority of his teammates.

As the group spread far and thin, time had passed quickly with little to no progress. Finally, after a long while, Roland gathered all the flowers he supposed he needed to fill the bushel and made his way towards it. He knelt down, attempting to work the wooden contraption to turn the bucket upwards. It was obvious what the construction was developed to do but, over time, it had rotted and cannibalized itself with age. Woodwork was torn and eaten away by age and decay. The only way to lift the container would be through that sub-par, wooden machine as it tied the top of the bucket down to the earthen soil below.

Rudiford attempted to get the mechanism to work and, upon investigating the matter with a pile of colorful flowers sitting beside him, he found a pink striped box. It all happened in a moment, and the contraption suddenly snapped forward, catapulting the package to the rune door, missing Cynesiege's head by mere inches. The noise drew the attention of the rest of the group and, as the box fell to the ground by gravity's demand, the lid popped open and the shaking and rattling of some hollow object could be heard.

The group went to investigate the happening and, lo and behold, there in the neatly-wrapped and lovely box (that had somehow survived better than the ruins through the ages) was a pile of bones and skull that must have once belonged to a living person. Inside of it, forefront and contrasting brightly against the macabre display, was a white note with fancy lettering and without a tint of brown or any other decaying color that could determine how old the message and 'gift' was.

    For Luna.
From (a scribbled out name where no letter was distinguishable or recognizable).

    Happy Birthday.
    You're free now.
The disturbing message would be the last thing the group could find out here. Then, as if fate had made it happen herself, the cogs on the door began to turn and shift, creaking and whining out a screeching noise. It was obvious that the years had corroded it so and the opening of the door, with the construction slowly disappearing into the top layer of rock it was built upon, moved up slow and steady like a turtle or a slug that had a drowsy day. Step by step and, at some moments, pausing for awhile as if it was about to collapse in on itself. Finally, without the party knowing what had caused the reaction, the ruin door was opened at last and a long hallway, with a door at the end, was uncovered and illuminated by the natural light outside.

Someone had definitely wanted them to get in.

  14. Nodding along as his team members introduced themselves, Roland, tried to make a mental checklist of their various abilities. There was Cynsiege who, garbed in starting equipment, would be their tank and hopefully meat shield; he hadn’t stated what his skills were but Roland assumed he had at least picked up guard and shields. Next there was Magi Heart, a spitting image of an anime's version of a magical girl, who had an unknown healing ability as well as skill with a bow. Then there was Ortix, who seemed a prototypical thief with illusion magic to boot. The only one that still perplexed him was that of the nameless bard who had, once again, decided to play music rather than announce who he was or why he was here. During his tune, however, Roland had spotted that he had gained a small regeneration buff confirming his suspicions that he was heavily invested into muse. “Not bad.” Roland said as he collected the flowers, “Considering how we all came here, we have a surprisingly balanced party. Magi Heart do me a favor and try to focus on your marksmanship if we get into any trouble, I have a feeling we will need more damage than healing when push comes to shove.” He said it with a genuine smile directed at the girl. When he had first saw her he had thought she was clearly an older man acting out some perverse fantasy, but her brief introduction, Roland came to the conclusion that either he was incredibly good at acting, or she was in fact played by someone roughly the same age as she appeared. “I guess it doesn’t matter.” Roland thought coldly, “I’m not here to make friends.”

While Roland continued collected buds for his plan he had some time to think to himself. Cyn seemed like a good character steeped into his role, heading for the door first wasn’t that bad of an idea, and his tank instincts seemed to be right on point, “Perhaps I should have let him take the lead after all” Roland thought, “Once we get that door open I’ll try and hang back in more of a support role”. Ortix seemed to have a good head on his shoulders as well, which was great for a rogue, “My guess is he can take care of himself.” Roland mentally concluded before shifting his thoughts to the remaining two, Magi Heart and Bard (As Roland had decided to refer to him), were the two unknowns. He was positive Magi would try her hardest in the situation, but she was admittedly unexperienced, and Bard’s lack of communication could likely be an issue. “Hey, Bard.” Roland called out in a genial tone, “I had thought about picking up the bard skill set, it seemed really interesting, how have you been liking it so far?” He asked hoping to pry the Bard out of his proverbial shell.

After sometime he had collected enough flowers that he felt comfortable would fit in the bushel, so he turned towards to swinging contraption and easily climbed on top of it in order to flip the bucket upwards. However, after he investigated it he realized he would need to push it through the wooden contraption before he could do so. He hopped down and looked for a means of doing just that when he came across a small box. Reaching forward he tried to touch it before it suddenly vanished from his field of vision with a loud, “SNAP!” Shocked, Roland jumped back grasping at his sword while trying to figure out what had happened. It seemed the wooden contraption was some sort of old catapult and had launched the box towards the door which was now creaking slowly open with a loud groan.

Hand tightly on the hilt of his blade, Roland, slowly crept forward to investigate the box, noticing the bones, and the note. “Well that’s creepy.” He voiced out loud as if it were an afterthought as he turned to the hallway before them. Being illuminated from the hot sun behind them, he could see that it stretched out to closed door. His instinct was to simply march ahead and investigate the door before attempting to open it but instead he looked towards Cynsiege with a slight nod indicating he had his back in whatever he chooses to do here and waited to see if any of the teammates wanted to investigate the box or anything else outside before moving inwards.

  15. Magi Heart saw everyone trying to open the large old door. It was huge and no matter what they did, it was not opening. Magi Heart was not going to even try to push that thing... it was bigger than her bed! Roland, the cool guy who took the lead, asked her to focus on her arrows mostly. Wow! Did he believe she could do well with them? Cool beans! Wendy was going to enjoy this dungeon thing maybe. As long as the others took care of anything too hard. Magi Heart would support them! Nodding her head and clutching her bow tightly in two hands. Magi Heart responded with a enthusiasm.

"No problem! I've been practicing and leveling my mastery things! You can count on me!"

Proud to be counted on and to have a chance to play along side such a big and friendly seeming party. Magi Heart would check out a bit more about her other friends here. There was Ortix, a cat guy! Ooh cool. Wendy loved the kitty characters! He was kind of tall and less cuddly though... but those ears! Maybe she could touch them if she helped him enough! Magi Heart's then eyes shifted to Cyna... cineseg... zynegi? She would just call him C. He was kinda scary with all the armor and loud voice. Magi Heart could tel that he was probably a good person though! He chose to play a knight in shining armor after all! The last of the bunch was a quiet guy. He seemed really shy maybe? He played really nice music though! Wendy kind of felt sorry for him. Kids at school like that needed a friend. Magi Heart would reach out and show him that he is loved!

Magi Heart would walk up to him and reach out her hand with a big smile.

"Hi, I'm sorry if I'm being rude but... are you okay Mr? You don't have to be shy, we are all friends here okay?"

Not wanting to upset the bard. Magi Heart would not persist for him to speak, especially when the giant door began to suddenly move and revealed the path beyond! Oh wow! Did someone solve the puzzle? Magi Heart bet it was the cool guy! He did it for sure! Turning to see where he was. Magi Heart saw him leaning down over a opened box. How would that move the big weird door? Wendy guessed it was magic. This was a rpg after all. Running over to him and peering in she wondered what she would see?
