  1. OOC: This thread solely takes place in the character creation for Terrasphere. Because of that, it's more or less a solo reply/ short story / one-off affair from the perspective of your Real Life character. If your post is starting to get on the long side, do forum scrollers a favor and put it in spoiler text. Fighting boars and the like should be done in an open thread. (Tee~hee~)

The wiki details concerning the character creation process can be found here: http://spherical.link/terrarp/wiki/The_Game

A well-lit gray room. An unfamiliar ceiling. And yet, the young woman---Yonah Curtis----could not see her hands in front of her face. Did she even have a face...?

Looking down, in a chair, she found her body waiting. Her body seemed vacant, unoccupied... It was as though she were going through an out of body experience. Correction, she was.

    WELCOME TO CHARACTER CREATION.

A kind jingly voice announced as it ran through the basics of where Yonah was and what Yonah was capable of doing.

“Eh? I could even be a guy?! No no no no that’s crazy...”

Yonah nervously laughed. Her doll-self was currently seated in front of her, completely still, wearing nothing but the most basic of underwear.

“So I can just touch ‘it’ right, I mean me... and become someone else...”

The voice answered in the affirmative. She could indeed sculpt herself like clay if she wished. But there were others way to go about it as well.

    Yonah bit her lip...

“No... not someone else. It wouldn’t mean anything if it wasn’t ‘me’ that was doing this, playing this game, I mean...”

The voice said nothing. It wasn’t a therapist after all. Yonah felt silly.

“Right... but maybe at least... well... wouldn’t it be interesting if...”

Yonah approached her own body as her cheeks glowed a soft shade of pinkish red. Something about the whole process felt awfully awkward, perverse even. Even if she had seen her own figure in the mirror countless times, this was something else. It was more like touching a twin. Peeking through one eye and with a great deal of flinching hesitation, Yonah gingerly, nervous reached for ‘her’ chest.

“It’s just... in real life I’m always working out... and that... comes with costs as well as benefits...”

Yonah studied her toned body, it was merely a side effect of day in and day out training, but even so, she was proud of the efforts it represented. However, a certain area was now quite a bit bigger than before...

    “Woah...”

Yonah held a ‘hand’ to her chin nodding.

“And if that’s like that then...”

Yonah stood Doll Yonah up and gently pushed in at the sides giving herself an hourglass figure. Then, spinning it around she looked at her rear...

    Was bigger always better?

WOULD YOU LIKE TO ENABLE PROPORTIONAL CORRECTION?

“Eh? Ehhhh? This isn’t...? ...Ah, okay, yes please...”

Perhaps knowing what aspects of the character model that players would like to favor retaining the most, Doll Yonah grew taller before Real Yonah’s very ‘eyes’.

    “Wow...”

What stood before her was a statuesque beauty, an athletic super model, Yonah’s dream adult body when she hit maybe around 26 years of age. 19-year-old Yonah was at a loss for words. She merely stood there gazing until gradually, she began to shrink away from the overwhelmingly feminine, adult, and maybe even a little sensuous aura.

    “Uhm... un... undo...”

ARE YOU SURE YOU WOULD LIKE TO UNDO YOUR PRESENT CHANGES...?

“I-I get it alright?! I’m just a banana!”

Real Yonah sobbed at the Adult Model Doll Yonah. Life just wasn’t fair. Truly Yonah didn’t know the merits of her own figure, yes, she lacked curves and maybe a few inches of height, but other women would kill to have what she did. Yonah was cute, but it would seem that she dreamed of being sexy.

Alas, Adult Model Doll Yonah poofed back into plain ol’ cutey face Yonah causing the real deal to sigh.

“Maybe this is for the best, there’s something that just feels considerably dishonest about making use of ‘that’ form. Not that I’d blame anyone else for doing so. Maybe in a few years...”

    IS YOUR DEFAULT SELF ACCEPTABLE?

That was a fatal question to a young woman but after considerable thought, Yonah nodded.

“Yes. My default form is acceptable.”

    Yonah affirmed.

PLEASE DECIDE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SELECT YOUR MASTERIES FROM A PRE-DEFINED CLASS TEMPLATE, UTILIZE ATTRIBUTE RECOMMENDATION MODE, OR ENABLE FULL-CUSTOM MODE.

    “Hmmm...”

It was a tough question, Yonah considerably lacked experience in video games, much less VR Games. Her painful backstory was a sore reminder of that.

“As long as I can use a sword, could we maybe use recommendation mode to start?”

THAT IS POSSIBLE, ADDING SLASH TO THE LIST OF MASTERIES AND BEGINNING BRAIN SCAN TO FORM A PERSONALITY PROFILE...............

    “...”

SCAN COMPLETE. BASED UPON YOUR ATTRIBUTES OF ‘SUSCEPTIBLE TO LONELINESS’ AND ‘UNEASE IN NEW SITUATIONS’ IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU INCORPORATE SUMMONING INTO YOUR CHARACTER BUILD. THIS WILL GIVE YOU A PERMANENT COMPANION.

Yonah flinched at the brutality of the assessment but none the less...

    “I can have a friend?”

YES. SUMMONING WILL GRANT YOU ACCESS TO A PARTNER CHARACTER THAT WILL ACCOMPANY YOU UPON YOUR JOURNEY.

“That sounds really nice... I think your words left some emotional damage, but you’re right, I think I would like that, thanks for looking out for me...”

WOULD YOU LIKE TO ENGAGE IN A TRIAL SUMMONING NOW TO DETERMINE YOUR FIRST COMPANION? THIS COMPANION CAN BE CHOSEN FROM A LIST OR CAN BE RECOMMENDED FROM THE SCANNED PERSONALITY PROFILE.

    “Ah... well... recommend... maybe...?”

ACKNOWLEDGED. PLEASE ACTIVE THE HIGHLIGHTED SUMMON BUTTON IN YOUR UI IN ORDER TO BEGIN A TRIAL SUMMONING.

Yonah looked at her UI. Sure enough, there was a new glowing button, ‘summon’, so Yonah pressed it. Symbols and light followed and from there was a kind of poof. As the little smoke cleared, Yonah saw a floating... cube... droid... thing...

    (~~~whir whir whir~~~)

    “Huh?”

PLEASE HIGHLIGHT YOUR POTENTIAL SUMMON AND VIEW ITS STATUS.

    “Okay.”

    Name: Friend Cube

    Type: Support

    Species: Automaton

    Element: None

    Personality: Helpful

    Difficulty: Beginner

THIS IS THE SUMMON RECOMMNDED TO YOU BASED UPON YOUR CALCULATED NEEDS CRITERA. IT WAS SELECTED BASED UPON THE FACTORS OF-----

    “That’s okay.”

WOULD YOU LIKE TO CEASE THE EXPLANATION?

“Yes. You’re probably going to say something super depressing...”

    IS THIS SUMMON ACCEPTABLE?

The hovering cube bounced around as it flapped about on two little cherubic wings. It was about the size of a basketball. The wings seemed more for show, they shouldn’t have been able to support its weight. Could Yonah really reject a friend specially selected just for her? What would she say? ‘This isn’t good enough?’ ‘I don’t like this one, so just get me another?’ As if. Yonah knew the pain of being cast aside. If this was the very special friend who answered her summons then...

“He’s perfect. Of course I’ll take him!”

WOULD YOU LIKE TO DECIDE ON A NAME NOW?

    “Hmm... Cubey.”

    (~whir~whir~whir~whir~)

    Cubey acknowledged her.

WITH THIS STEP CHARACTER CREATION IS NOW COMPLETE. WOULD YOU LIKE TO REVIEW YOUR CHOICES?

    “No. I’m ready.”

Cubey hovered over to Doll Yonah’s side.

    ACKNOWLEDGED. STARTING GAME.

“See you on the other side Cubey!”

*Shupt* The light in the room went out.

  2. When the game launched Dieter wasn't exactly sure what he was doing. However, he found himself in front of an exact replica of himself in black underwear sitting on a chair before him. There was something eerie about seeing yourself so lifeless this way. He walked forward and inspected himself, completely ignoring the character designing panel that floated with him as he circled around the sitting Astor. After a brief while, he finally noticed the character creation tool next to him and realized that he needed to make a character.

With a hand cupping his chin, Astor looked at the overwhelming number of options. Despite TerraSphere being a game where everyone could make their dream body, Dieter didn't care for it and only wanted to get into the game as fast as humanly possible. And so, he tapped randomize.

Then... blackness. The next time he opened his eyes, he spawned in the middle of a wolf den in black underwear. One thing was certain at least, he still had great abs.

  3. This... was the strangest character creation ever made.

Well, if Chelsea played a bunch of VR game's maybe she could prove that but still!

Logging into this game was something she really hesitated about. It was out of mere curiosity if not desperation to get away. Run away from everything that was troubling her in her life. Her parents being murdered with no resolution, her company taken right from under her nose, her aunt making her sing and dance like a puppet for her own agenda.

And just feeling alone in general.

Virtual avatars wouldn't change that but here she was anyway. Yeesh what a weird setup. The avatar in front of her looked... like her but not. In a way it made her think of her aunt even more. This person would be exactly what she'd be. Might as well put a little idol master costume or something on her and stretch her mouth in a ridiculous smile or something. What was there to even smile about,..

So what kind of character was this even going to be? She barely cared but she did want to run so... a second self. Yeah Chelsea didn't want to be another person. Just the version of her that should be. The head of technological cutting edge advancements. Like her father. She could be the mysterious and rich head of a company that works for the good of humanity. Scoffs the haters and, proves itself right every time!

    Always at the forefront.

It wouldn't be real though. Nor was this game likely going to start her off that way. Grinding wasn't on her to do list either. So... maybe just play herself with a code name?

Chelsea went to the creation panel and started to navigate it. Boo, nothing even remotely interesting for a starter build. Punching and shooting were realistic enough. That magic stuff... boo. This Tinker thing might be worth holding onto.

After finishing her build and giving herself the tiniest bit of a boost in the vertical department, she was done.

Chelsea R. Nexon. The only person she needed to be.

    Code Name: Lady N

    Scratch that, Mysterious Lady N
