Private - Saving Private Sean
Discussion in 'Crystallized Zalra' started by Sean Poteitoku, Apr 18, 2018.
  1. Bradwynne listened on as @Sean Poteitoku related about who was currently living with him. Apparently he was still at least a dependent; living with his parents and uncle. And so breaking and entering should be the least priority, since someone would always hear them opening a door or window, and there was always a chance that someone of those three would see them within the house, and by his experience in watching a lot of anime and cartoons, it would not end beautifully for them. And so, although talking to Sean's parents was just one of the myriad ways to contact him who was still trapped within the world of Terrasphere, it should seem to be one of the few logical choices, if not the only logical one. And so @Hanno Futaba was right in asking what should they say to the three, if ever. Although @Raid thought that they would put the gaming life of Sean in jeopardy if they would say the truth, which for Bradwynne was a valid point, they would need to do it if they were to gain access to Sean. And so whatever they would say would matter in this situation.

"Raid is definitely right, saying the whole truth might affect your gaming life,"
Bradwynne said, while pacing left and right while holding his chin, seemingly trying to rack his brain for him to know what they should do or say to the adults to rescue Sean. Suddenly one idea had come into his mind, but as he put a good amount of thought on it, he then thought that it was too insidious, even for him that was always running against authority. He was the type of person that always says the whole truth regarding a matter, and if not would stay silent. And so he found it revolting to say this idea to the three, especially to Sean, but he would need to say it nonetheless. One more person helping out in the drive against the god that sought to control all worlds should be better than nothing at all.

"I really hate this idea, but what if we should only just say to them a portion of the truth while withholding the portions that might affect Sean's life in gaming especially wanting to play Terrasphere? We just say that we are Sean's internet friends, and he promised an offline meeting in his house, which should be definitely true. By all means the goal was to free Sean from being trapped in the game without a way to log out, whether we will be the ones who will do it, or the adults will do it for us. As Sean mentioned, there are at most three adults in the house, and they might hear or see us entering if we enter in any other way besides the front door, except when they would be all gone. Which," he then stared at Sean, signalling that he should think about it, "Sean should know. The goal was to remove him from the VR interface without much fuss, and fuss means we serve a jail sentence, Sean being banned from playing VR games, or both."

And then he focused himself regarding the way they should make an entrance to the vicinity. Futaba is right that they going together should be the best way to convince whoever of the three adults to let them in to see Sean, or to strategize if they would fail in convincing them. And so, when he heard Raid's plan on how to meet up, he immediately agreed. "Well maybe we should meet somewhere near Sean's house, if not at the front of it. If you need my number, here it is." He then mentioned the number of the mobile phone that he was always bringing with him. "To be sure I will be using a transport service to go there directly, maybe you can contact me if you are near, I will contact you as well."

  2. As Sean's companions talked to each other about him losing the ability to play video games, he just started laughing. "Pffffffffffffhahaha! My parents and uncle don't care about what video games I play, they've found me doing much worse!" He slowly regained his composure. "Okay, my father has a weak point... I think. For my mother and uncle, just say you are my internet friends and want to play some video games with me, they'd be glad I made some friends. For my father, say you're my classmates and I gave you my address in class so its more believable." He took out his sword and started examining it. "Hey... How much will this affect my combat ability?"

  3. The Faerin looked at @Raid explaining a possible consequence of @Sean Poteitoku being banned from playing video-games. That would be pretty harsh and Hanno didn't even considered this possibility, after all he lived alone and the only person checked how much time he was spending on games was his best friend.

Exchanging phone numbers would also be a good idea, specially because they didn't know how they looked like in real life, which could cause some problems.

Hanno noted @Bradwynne phone number. "Yeah, I will be using transport service too. I live close enough to him, it shouldn't be a problem." He looked at Raid waiting for he say his contact. "I think our plan is concrete now, right? If yes, let's go do it, because the feeling of being stuck in a game is probably horrible, so we need to-"

Hanno gave a funny smile at that sentence. 'Aaah, that dude doesn't have a care in the world, does he? We are probably more worried than him about this.' He couldn't help but keep that funny expression on his face.

But he actually thought it was better to Sean stay oblivious about the danger of the current situation he was in, at least until they got to unplug him. If he began to panic and started to make a fuss in game, a lot of players would probably start to panic aswell.

  4. "I really hate this idea, but what if we should only just say to them a portion of the truth while withholding the portions that might affect Sean's life in gaming especially wanting to play Terrasphere? We just say that we are Sean's internet friends, and he promised an offline meeting in his house, which should be definitely true."

@Bradwynne seemed hesitant to suggest this but it was certainly a good idea. If they could convince them of they had some other reason for being there, they would be able to pull him out without a problem. @Hanno Futaba seemed to find this idea acceptable as well and so they went back to palling how they meet. It seemed to be agreed that they would meet near Sean's house and contact each other via cell phone.

"Pffffffffffffhahaha! My parents and uncle don't care about what video games I play, they've found me doing much worse!"

@Sean Poteitoku seemed unconcerned with the potential backlash from something that could potentially be a life threatening situation, but the other two seemed to agree with Raid's thought on it somewhat. Regardless, they would hopefully be able to convince Sean's parents to let the go to him, or perhaps even have them unplug him themselves. After Sean was out they could just play the part for a bit and then leave with Sean's parents being none the wiser.

Sean went on to suggest they perhaps play the part of school friends or the such and gave them insightful suggestions on what he believed would be good things to say to his family. After they were done collecting all the information they could Raid look to the others.

Very well, Here is my number. Now let's go ahead and get there. If any of you think of anything else important or something comes up, call the rest of us... See you all IRL...

Raid opened his UI and went to log off. It was time to go back to the real world.

  5. Bradwynne then took mental notes of the phone numbers of the two people before him. Hopefully he could still remember the numbers back in the real world, and not like a dream where he might not remember anything after he wakes up. The matter should be settled quickly once they would enter the house, but first he should think about what to say. Fortunately, @Sean Poteitoku said some pointers regarding what to say to the adults. Although he felt it weird on what he said about the adults not caring on what video games he played, and noting the fact that he made something worse than that. Although his parents were working in New York for an insurance company, and his brothers and sisters were now living lives separate from the mother and father, they do look out for one another, and so he did not want to let them down. Or maybe that kind of family was now the exception instead of the norm in the real world. That was why, as much as possible, wanted to know Sean's response regarding him saying half-truths to his parents, since he might not like that idea. Although he was relieved that he could withhold some key pieces of information, he was holding some concern to the state of parenting in Sean's house. But as he also considered it imprudent to butt in into other people's affairs, especially about their family, he would say nothing about it any further.

He then thought about the options Sean had said about his parents. Although he quite not liked about what Sean said about the father's tendencies - Sean called it his weak point - he thought about he said that they should say that they were his classmates in the school where he was studying. He then stared at @Hanno Futaba, while also thinking about @Raid who had just logged out recently. For that ruse to succeed, they should be around the same age. Although in this game he was a nineteen-year old overgrown kid, he was a fourteen-year old of the same form, only scaled down from five foot eleven inches to five foot two inches. But what about the others? It should be important to be within Sean's age for them to use that alibi. Hopefully they look like people of Sean's age in the real world for it to work. But the question was: how old is Sean? Well, maybe they should adjust within their approximations of Sean's age, and he would see what reasoning he would do once they would be there.

After a long thought, Bradwynne then said, "All right, I have noted everything. So it should be easier to say something to the mother and uncle than to the father, I suppose. Hopefully we are within the same age bracket..." He then stifled a laugh as he was thinking about the worst case scenario. Clearly he was imagining him self in his childish form, Raid as a burly man, Futaba as a very tall guy, and they were visiting a college student. What a huge disparity in age levels. "...or at least our faces look like we are within the same age bracket as you. Hopefully, either of those. So..." He then opened his UI to log out. "See you on the other side...? And by the way, you asked about if your combat capabilities would be affected by the loss of UI? Fortunately I have seen the first two victims of the UI loss fight, and they did brilliantly and we defeated the spirit of Titanius with their help. So I could say, if you can swing your sword perfectly without system assistance, and you can chant spells without manipulating your UI, you would do good. All right, good bye for now!" He waved his left hand while pressing the logout button with his right, returning to that familiar scent of the room in his house.
