OOC: Anyone may join if they wish. This thread is just an introduction to my character. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
The fruit I took a bite of was quite sweet. It has been a while since I have tasted virtual fruit. I smiled at it greatly as I walked the streets of Stokbon. Walking past various workers and construction sites, the city was ever expanding outward. Right now, the outer most rings were shops of all kinds. Mainly fruit stands, foods, or even goods of trinkets or even small wearables such as scarves or necklaces. The cobble streets were filled with people of all races, shapes and sizes. I mostly blended into the crowd with my black and red skirt and top. Some who I walked past clearly could tell I was a Player. Someone with the ability to use skills and magics that some considered unnatural.
This much was very true.
I had the control over darker arts. Magics, hexes and the like. However, I wasn't very good at it. I still remember getting the invite for the game. Sitting there for some time before I finally caved and downloaded it to my headset. Now, I wish I had done it sooner. The lives and the actions of all these people around me felt genuine, and wholesome. However, I always had this doubt in my mind. A doubt of my abilities and if I were to use them, what it would mean for me. Being a practitioner of Dark magic, I would be hunted down like a witch. Like an animal. Just because of that fact alone, I had my Katana attached to my hip.
I hated having to hide myself. I hated having to be the kind of person who would be sought after only in the absolute dire times. It seemed like anyone with any other ability than that of the dark arts were welcome into the world. Yet, I was not. People were scared of what they didn't understand. I knew who I was, what I was. They didn't, and therefore, I was scary. I was the unknown variable. Much like a child learning about fire and how they shouldn't touch it. They are curious, and when it causes pain, they become afraid of it. Same as with me. They are tempted to look, but when they see that I am.... They run.
My face grew deep in thought as my fruit was only a few bites in. The juices drying up as I walked randomly. Coming to a portion of the city that was unknown to me, I stopped and looked around. I could hear a scuffle down the ally. Whatever was happening, was taking place without me. I turned around and started to walk away when I heard a voice cry out. It was faint, but still there. Unintelligible, but still there. Turning down the ally, I placed my back up against the wall, and peeked my head around the corner. Seeing two men, one smaller and lean in stature, and the other much taller, and broad.
What looked to be a young boy with a toy sword was standing up for himself and what looked to be another child. I couldn't tell who or what gender the other child was, but I still rushed forward. Taking some steps quickly down the ally as I yelled out.
"How about you leave them alone. It's not good scaring children."
I then received a growl from the larger of the two men. His hand reaching for a weapon of some kind. Knowing that this would be a confrontation, I reached for my own Katana. Letting my hand rest easily upon the wrappings. I could see the little boy who was there. Holding the wood sword out still. Red cheeks, and a complexion of fear. A white skin tone as though the ghost of a family member had just walked past.
"Look, I don't want to fight. Just let the kids go."
I was trying to not draw blood. I didn't want to. Even more so in front of these kids. I was paying attention to the man as he growled at me. Holding one of my hands up in a stop sign, I dropped my ring finger into my hand, and drew a shape in the air as I spoke. Letting the incantation speak out from me.
"Tenebrarum amplexus circumdabunt mei spina forma spicarum audeant inimici mei tarn me tangere."
As I spoke, black wisps of air flowed up from my toes. Sliding out of my boots and up to my form. Each wisp then formed and hardened into a spike upon my body. While I stood there, the man rushed me. Knowing it to be magic, as soon as he saw the darkness rise, he slowed. Coming to a stop as thorns covered my body. Through these thorns, I could see the faces of the children sitting there. The two men looking at me agape. I felt anger and hatred towards the two.
Slowly my energy drained as the two man walked away. Drawing my katana slowly, I took a stance and held the sword out. Ready for the fight, they then turned tail and ran. Deciding that someone else was an easier catch. As soon as they were gone, I walked towards the children. Realizing that I still had my thorns on as they stood up, They were quivering in fear. Fear that I did not want from them. They two then ran. I sighed as the thorn effect wore off, and I found myself standing in the ally alone. With children and men running away in fear of my visage.
I shook my head, sheathed my weapon, and walked out of the ally, preparing myself to head to my room at the near by in, and gather my belongings to leave. No point in staying when a witch hunt was going to begin soon.
