The group's combined their effort to take down the incredibly powerful shield, playing off of one another to bring down their adversary together. Although the shield resisted the physical attack from both Minerva and Roland, combined with Ashiore's natural spell and Seto's dark spell countering one another allowed Roland to get in one more blow that would shatter the light-imbued shield, scattering it into thousands of fragments.

The mad king shrieked in anger as he was knocked back by the exploding shield. The king used both of his hands to grab onto his sword and turned toward @Gwyn ap Herne, leaving Roland by his lonesome self. Once he reached the female archer, he swung his sword down on her, dealing massive damage to her. The sword also stopped glowing.

Cleric of Light Took her time to heal the Sorceress of light for 42, which did not restore anymore health since she was already full. However, the delayed spell allowed her to empower the sorceress spell.

Sorceress of Light While the whirlwind continued to persist, the sorceress took advantage of it and launched an orb of lightning into the whirlwind. With the circulating wind spinning the lightning inside, it began to shoot out in random directions.

The pain was great, it felt as if his body was being destroyed by countless sparks of electricity yet his life fore stayed untouched. That was shocker to himself, he thought the enemy would have been more precise with their assault but it seemed he overestimated the enemy. Of course the most shocking thing that cought his eyes was the little girl, Alphabet runing to his position and curing him of his status effect and Ashiore as well. He gave @Alphabet Chocolate a thumbs up with a smirk on his face before looking back at everyone. It wasn't a pretty sight seeing most of the party wounded in some regard, Gwyn was targeted the most from the fight so far but Lady Amane began healing Gwyn of her most serious wounds. Seto knew he had to act so without hesitation, Seto drew his Broadsword and fell towards the wall of the throne room infront of everyone.
It was than he looked at @Ilusa Nakhalee whom had thanked him moments ago after he parried most of the attack from her and Ashiore. He looked back and gave her a faint smile.

"Don't wory about it Ilusa, we are comrades after all and I refuse to allow even a single one of my comrades fall in battle. If one needs to die today, it will be me for it is my duty...A warrior's death is acceptable in my book."

      Rooted: Final Turn

Lightning rippled across the forearms of the archer and stung across her skin. It shattered through her veins and curled around her bones, branching like the veins of pale leaf litter. She could feel every hair on her body stand on end as she stared down the mad king's second charge and once again he struck with all he had to offer. The slice across her torso was deep and Gwyn could keenly feel the precipice of defeat and not for a second feared it. The king was crouched before her, the sword's glow fading as the glow from Amane's healing spell took over. He wouldn't be rising from that position.

She shot straight down through one bent thigh and watched with aching glee thundering in her chest as it bolted through with malicious ease. The heavy, hooked edges of it dug into the marble floor and anchored King Theodore de Falder where he knelt, sword still half biting into her skin before she pulled away from it. The crow feathers lining the end drank what blood split from his cleaved femoral artery. "Right where you belong. I don't care for kings and crowns, but I can see the appeal in having someone prostrate themselves before you. I'll leave it to others though." She glanced up over his shoulder toward the other king and snarled at @Astor Balthas as well with bared teeth. "Go on then, claim your second crown."

The ranger leaned down for a moment to meet the old madman's eyes before she backed away to let the other claim his own revenge. "For my Kitten. For my Kitten, you'll burn."

Ashiore thanked Alphabet for clearing her of the stun, and then turned her attention back to the battle. King Theodore had not taken the destruction of his shield well. It seemed like he didn't take any loss well, as the trap he set after Dormont was taken showed.

She felt the Falderen pin that she stuck to her chest. Remembered when she felt honored to receive it, after helping keep the civilians safe as they evacuated Dormont. Now, though? She had worn it in the hope that perhaps the king could be reasoned with, could be convinced to step away from this fight. But was there any reasoning with a man that would have watch his daughter die without a shred of remorse?

Ashiore glanced back to Princess D'vangelline's unconscious form. Perhaps, when she took the throne, it would be an honor once again to wear the Rosen pin. But, before that could even begin to take place, there was a duty to do here.

She then looked towards Astor. He had helped her the first time they met during the siege, had offered her a chance to fight beside him. It was a chance that she didn't take, waffling over her own guilt and uncertainty.

Well, there was no uncertainty now. It was time to end things.

For but a moment... but a single meager moment. Minerva had been hit by something that left her unable to react properly. The stunning effect was truly annoying but it lasted shortly thanks to the aid of a healer in the Astorea party.

Feeling her arms and legs regaining sensation. Minerva could not help but struggle to hold a smirk at the actions of the archer. These people really disliked this man. He had done some unsavory things according to rumor but otherwise Minerva really was not sure how evil or good he was. She could understand the desire to protect his world from intruders. However... that would be her task someday. No need for a flawed and past his prime royal like this. Maya knew how it was to be a handicap. So somewhere she did feel sorrow for him.

Minerva walked calmly over to the Falderen King. He was still pinned by arrows for a short while but was already getting back up. Durandal would knock his crown off of his head sending it flying up into the air like so much garbage. Indeed his reign was about to become as such... His allies would likely lose power if they were truly held in this world by him.

"I thought I came here to face my greatest challenge. to face the mightiest of Kings. Yet I can revive countless times, I can speak vast distances, I can grow ever more. You? You are about to die, with or without our help. I feel for you, your maje... no old man. You have no right to wear that crown."
    So much for this scuffle.

Focusing every ounce of concentration he had into freezing the mad king’s shield, Astor failed to notice the enemy sorceress receiving the delayed magical empowered buff that allowed her to use the whirlwind to scatter her lightning all over the chamber, striking half of the room and stunning the other half. As the electricity circulated throughout his body, Astor let pained groans escape his lips as he attempted to move his stunned limbs, only to realize the futility of it all. Fortunately, @Ilusa Nakhalee kept an eye on him as she always did.

With a single spell from the priestess, he quickly gained freedom from his electrified prison. It was the second time she had freed him from imprisonment. Yet, despite the indescribable gratefulness that was welling up in the pit of his stomach, all of it was drowned out by the seething hatred he felt when he witnessed the mad king and his enslaved spirits cut down his party members one by one.

During his slow recovery, @Gwyn ap Herne somehow managed to regain her footing even after the massive blow the king dealt to her. Whether or not it was foolish bravery, sheer tenacity, or raw hatred, she pinned the mad king onto the floor, forcing him to prostrate before Astor while the rest of the team worked together to set up the finishing blow for him. @Ashiore Evretto also targeted him with him a boon to empower his spell.

Astor, however, lost himself in that critical moment, unable to move as he dazedly lumbered about, the emotional fatigue was quickly catching up to the man tormented psyche. However, the voices of his teammates brought him back to reality in seconds. With the fog cleared from his mind, Astor quickly realized that the mad king had put himself in a wholly compromised situation, allowing the rest of the party to capitalize on a once-in-lifetime opportunity.

Without any reason to hold back all of the pain, anguish, hatred, joy, love, and a host of other turbulent emotions that had coursed through his veins the past couple of weeks, Astor firmly planted his feet on the floor and began advancing toward his mortal enemy. However, each of his kingly steps felt crushingly heavy as the fate of his nation and his teammate weighted him down.

Astor raised both of his hands for his first attempt at simultaneous spellcast. Filling his lungs with a gulp of air Astor began reciting his simultaneous spell. While he concentrated on pronouncing every syllable of the two overlapping incantations accurately, the sound of children crying in the night as the enemy’s catapults violently ravaged their home and the screams of those who fight for Astorea charging at the enemy with no intention of turning back, filled his ears.

Once he finished his long and unintelligible incantation, it felt almost as though time came to a complete stop.

"The paths of light and darkness are as beginningless and endless as the material universe - by one is liberation attained, and by the other, rebirth.

The times during which, after passing from this world, the seekers of ice and fire are either liberated or reborn, I shall now describe to you, greatest of the Frostfire.

By Fire, Light, and Day, during the fortnight of the waxing moon and the summer solstice - those who pass then from this world and know the Supreme shall attain the Supreme Power."

    skill
    Frostfire Aura

Moments later, the ornate tunic that hugged his muscular chest disintegrated as a searing flame burst forth from the entire right side of his body, reaching the ceiling and leaving its brand on the once flawless marble. At the same time, an equally potent blast of frost enveloped the left side of his body, freezing the area around him. With each alternating step Astor left behind footprints of frost and fire until he towered over King Theodore de Falder. When @Minerva Alexandria plucked the crown off Theo's head and tossed it toward Astor, he grabbed onto the pure gold crown and turned it to liquid gold within his fiery grasp, letting it drip down the floor.

Casting a murderous gaze down at the old man, who returned his hateful eyes with his own. Astor said,

    “Die.”

The king who had been made to kneel before the enemy and left to die at his hubris cried out as Astor extended his hand toward him, with the Frostfire ready to melt him into nothingness. The sword that he so dearly clung to moments earlier clattered onto the floor.

“O’god, why hast thou forsaken me? Was it not thee who told me that enemies from another world was coming to claim my throne? Why hast thou let them do unto me this unjustified defeat, have I not done as you had ordered? Then why so have you abandoned me in this hour of ne---?!!!”

At that moment, time grinded to almost a complete stop as the sword began to darken in color as a shadowy hand reached for it, picking it up in its illusory hand. Despite the near time stop experience, all of the players who were present in the chamber could still see and hear everything that was going on around them in their ‘stopped’ state; however, as soon as they attempted to speak, they would find that they are unable to say a single word. If anyone was facing King Theo, they would be able to see a thin and sickly looking figure with skin so dark that it trapped all of the light attempting to reflect off of it.

There were no words to describe its appearance other than something akin to a spacial abscess where it stood. Putting the sword back into King Theo’s hand before it tightened his fist for him, it guided the blade into Astor’s heart just as Astor’s magic began melting King Theo’s face.

It then retrieved the sword and carefully pushed it into @Minerva Alexandria ‘s chest in the place where her heart was. Then, it came toward zone 11 where @Seto Kurama was and performed the same gesture with a near surgical precision. When it removed the sword and inspected the blade, which had obtained hundreds of cracks its body, seeming as though it was about to burst, the figure tossed it to the floor like a toy it had gotten bored with.

Then, the figure spun around playfully as it skipped over to zone 7 where the Archer was assaulted by @Roland Rutledge . It first forced the Archer’s form into a shooting posture before drawing the string of her bow and putting it into her hand before it conjured a shadowy arrow and nocking the bow for her. Then, the figure got behind the archer and aimed it at @Gwyn ap Herne.

Walking over to the cleric, the figure grabbed and stroked it chin for a bit before leaving her in her sorry frozen state as she was.

Afterward, the shadow approached the mage and opened her book and shaped her into a spellcasting posture before he muttered something in an intelligible language that only hurt the ears of those who managed to pick up a word or two.

Finally, the figure returned to King Theo and reached beneath his armor, pulling out two bizarre looking amulets that the king had been wearing all this time. Anyone who had their investigation mode active would have been able to identify that the two Amulets were.

Rebirth (Accessory - Amulet) Recall the heroic souls of people who had given their loyalty to you. These souls cannot die and will reborn if they are killed. However, they become extremely weak the lower health they are at. You cannot force damage on these souls.

Birthright (Accessory - Amulet) All of those who have the Falderen Birthright within them must succumb to your voice and obey your order. Your targets may resist.

As if there was a sudden lapse, time began moving again and the catastrophe happened all at once...

After he melted Theo's face, @Astor Balthas began to fall face first into the floor was blood began pooling beneath him. @Minerva Alexandria fell onto her back and experienced much of the same fate. @Seto Kurama too fell onto the floor, lifeless. The rest of the party began to get stuck by lightning that came down from the ceiling after the Sorceress finished her casting gesture.

The Archer of Light loosed her shadowy arrow, striking @Gwyn ap Herne in the chest, where the heart would be. Just as quickly as they appeared, the souls dissipated into nothingness at the blink of an eye.

  4. A new day

D’vangelline watched the entire fight unfolded, unable to lift a finger to help. The treatment she received from both @Ilusa Nakhalee and @Ashiore Evretto earlier was barely enough to keep her stable, but she was able to stay conscious through all of the fightings. As much as she would like a proper healing, the two women had more pressing issues to concern themselves over.

The princess bit her lip when she saw her father brutally cut down @Gwyn ap Herne, who somehow survived the hit. Although the odds were stacked against her allies at first, the table turned when the mad king overexerted himself, allowing the group to capitalize on his mistake and take him down.

However, it did not end there as D’vangelline's heart stopped when she watched the shadowy figure appear and retrieve the two artifacts from her father. When she realized that the source of her father’s power and madness might have been the incomprehensible existence in front of her, D’vangelline screamed silently. Despite putting every ounce of strength into moving, and wrestling to free herself from her immobile state, she remained a prisoner of her own body, helplessly forced to watch as the thing murdered her allies.

Then, just like that, the figure was gone in the blink of an eye. Time started moving afterward as the calamity came into full swing. Despite having steeled her heart and putting up a strong face all this time, D’vangelline’s couldn’t process the events that unfolded in front of her. By this time, the translucent arrow had disappeared along with the Archer of Light. The princess's legs gave out as her body collapsed onto the floor.

As soon as D'vangelline laid her eyes on the unmoving king, whose head had been marred beyond recognition, her heart shattered. Tried as she might to produce words, only the sound of ragged breathing came from her lips. Beads of tears welled up in her eyes and streamed down the contour of her face as deep-seated memories of a different Theodore began to surface in her mind.

Since when has the king become such a different person? Since when has she come to detest him so much that she wished for his demise? Since when has she lusted after the now-empty throne? There were so many thoughts were bubbling in her head that she forgot how to think at all.

Instinctively leaning over the floor, D’vangelline used her fingernails and grabbed onto the edge of the floor tile to drag herself toward the man who had raised her and provided her with warmth and love. Even if the world will only remember King Theodore as a fearful tyrant who mind-controlled them into an unwanted war, she would never forget the Theodore as her hero, whom she truly respected and aspired to become once upon a time. Even if the world defaced his portrait and marred his statues, she would never forget the wrinkly eyes that had cast such a kind and protective gaze over her as she grew up.

Despite knowing that she would never be able to experience that fatherly love again, she was content even to be able to squeeze the last bit of warmth from the hand that had stroked her head so tenderly and held onto her so gently in the past.

By the time the supposed dauntingly strong warrior princess of Falderen reached the body of the king, her face had regressed into that of a crying child. Grabbing onto the king hard armor with her trembling hands, the princess pressed her forehead against the cold steel and began sobbing. Forming fists with her feeble hands, D'vangelline would hit Theodore’s body as hard she could, again and again. Choking up from the tears, she shouted, “…idiot! IDIOT! How could you...” She had lost her shelter and was truly alone now as the sole ruler of Falderen.

At some point, while this was happening, the massive doors leading into the throne room opened quietly. Although the guards behind the doors immediately tried to charge into the room, the group of nobles stopped them after having seen the Princess grieved for the king.

After a while, the older woman in the group pulled the two guards down to her level and whispered something in their ears. Once they nodded affirmatively, they escorted the two servant girls who were in the throne room earlier when the group arrived. Together, they pulled D’vangelline off the king’s corpse, whispering to her that she needed to see a healer immediately. Since she had lost so much blood at that point and was unable to resist them, she continued bawling as they dragged her out of the chamber.

An elder man, who wore clothes similar to the noblewoman came toward the group and bowed his head deeply before them, “from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for releasing our people from the mad king and return Princess D’vangelline to Falderen where she belongs. We can’t express enough thank and would like nothing more than to end this needless war. Regardless of the differences between our nations, the nobles of this country would like to work toward a mutual prosperity with Astorea from here onward.”

    @Astor Balthas @Roland Rutledge @Seto Kurama @Ilusa Nakhalee @Ashiore Evretto @Gwyn ap Herne @Minerva Alexandria @Amane Hirota @Alphabet Chocolate

  5. It was over. Ashiore stood in place, shaking lightly as Astor's attack finished off King Theodore. The gruesome smell of melting, burning flesh filled the throne room, but Ashiore didn't care. It was done.

And then, of course, things started going wrong. Frozen, unable to do anything, she watched the thin, dark figure emerge from the king's body. Watched it slaughter Astor, turn the blade against Minerva and Seto, puppet the Archer and Sorceress around. Watched it steal two small pendants from the king's corpse, and vanish.

She didn't have time to move before electricity coursed through her entire body, making her seize up, twitch, and fall to her knees. But at least she was alive, at least she was still there to do something as four bodies slumped, lifeless to the ground.

When she could move again, she ran over to the first body that she could reach, already muttering the words to her resurrection spell as she moved. She had become upsettingly familiar with the chant, as of late. Every time she attempted it, it had worked, but her heart always froze in that one moment between the incantation ending and the energy flowing through her hands, afraid that this would be the time it failed.

Luckily, it wasn't. Around her, she could make out the forms of the others similarly reviving those that had fallen. As they all stood up, Ashiore sighed in relief. They had made it through this battle. They had won.

    And then, she saw D'vangelline.

Her first instinct was to ask if the princess was alright, but the words died in her throat as she caught sight of the princess's expression. She stayed to the side, silent and motionless, as D'vangelline dragged herself to the king's body- her father's body. Broken as it was, she still reached for it, sobbing uncontrollably.

The unease in her gut and lump in her throat felt like guilt. She... she just helped to kill the princess's father. She had known, of course, that D'vangelline was the king's daughter. But, until this very moment, it hadn't sunk in.

The throne room doors opened, and everything began moving again. Ashiore stayed to the side as Princess--or was it Queen, now?--D'vangelline was removed from the room, as people began entering. There were some people who looked like noblemen speaking, but uncertain what she could add to this conversation, she remained quiet.

Unfortunately, that left her a lot of time to stew in her own thoughts.

It was cruel, what they had done. Killing D'vangelline's father in front of her. Bringing their own dead back to life, and leaving her father's mutilated form lying there to cool. She felt no remorse about not reviving King Theodore. But perhaps that made the guilt worse, in a way.

As the nobles continued speaking and negotiating, Ashiore ran her fingers over the surface of her golden pin, tracing each petal with a discolored finger. Falderen's symbol was a rose, a flower of beauty and fragrance, though its graceful appearance belied its painful thorns. Slavery, turning away desperate refugees, the terrible thrall that the king had put his subjects--people who depended on him, who relied on his protection--under... Falderen indeed had many, many thorns.

The bee did not dwell in the same garden where the rose grew, but they needed each other all the same. Ashiore had been content to leave Falderen and Astorea to their own devices, for the most part. But today, she'd done something she wasn't proud of, something that was necessary nonetheless. And there would be consequences. The very, very least that she could do was to stay, and to help.

  6. At first, there was nothing more than the covering darkness that overtook his body, one moment his body was warm as the sun itself in the sky than in the next moment......everything was cold and dark. What in the world happened? His mind almost instantly went blank when time began to spun up again than came the all so familiar pain he had been used to for so long in the real world, the only difference the tier of pain that form was so intense it was too much. Despite how quickly the pain had come, it was all over in a instant, his hands were forced to let off of his broadsword as his body crashed to the floor under him. Everything was cold, so cold than there was nothing as he felt his life force leaving his body, forcing him to give in. The last thing he would see from the edges of his eyes was the corpse of the king laying dead on the floor ahead of him before finally the Darkness consumed him...........So this was how it was going to end? Was this how the witch died as well? He really didn't think he would have died in such a way like this, he guessed it was too much to ask for a warrior's death.

With his mind in the darkness within his mind, he could no longer feel his body, any control he had over before was gone and now he knew it would only be moments before his life force would leave his body. Eventually even his mind began to slip away, he couldn't help but wonder how things turned out like this, he knew from the geck go he wasn't the most bright and positive person on terrasphere, he's always known he was the necessary evil in this world and knew from the beginning he was destined to goto hell for that was where someone like he belonged. Despite all the wrong doing's he had ever done in this world, he had always done It for the greater good, for Astorea's sake. If he had to kill a few for the many than so be it, he had to burden the evil's on his shoulders than so be it, he was ready to accept such punishment. In his final moments of his demise where he could only hear the rain of a storm from within in, he could only think of Oliva, @Emmeline Valenick, @Aalam Abungu and of course @Alia......it seemed this was really the end If he was thinking about his special redhead....Everything went dark after that and Seto....Seto was no more.

Everything became so puzzled when he felt his mind returning to his mind, his mind felt like it was splittering away from the confusion alone. How? How was his happening??!! He died.....He knew he did, he felt his very being leaving his body and everything went dark yet here he was, back in his body. The most daunting thing was his body felt warm like the sun instead it's cold touch it had from earlier, how was this possible? Thee were so many questions and not answers, he swore his mind would break from the situation. The last thing to remerge was his networks coming back to life as the ravines that connected his body together began flowing with the energy of the living. He suddently felt the pain from before but this time it was different, it didn't hurt as much. Within a few moments of returning to his body, his eyes flashed opened, revealing the throne room once more and the hands of @Ashiore Evretto infront of him as she finished using some sort of magic to revive or heal. For a few moments, he didn't know what to say but eventually Ryosuke instead choose to speak.

"Ashiore, I thank you for healing me. I know Seto isn't the most beloved person on here but he does have a heart and everything he does is for the well being of Astorea."

Following Ryosuke's words, Seto took over once more as he picked himself up, he grabbed his broadsword up along the way and sheathed his broadsword using all the strength he could muster. He was alive certainly but his body had seen better days, putting his blade away required all his strength, his arms and legs felt like they wanted to give out which in result, forced him to walk like an elderly person. There was the still the pain he felt but for now, he would need to use his willpower to ignore it for now anyway. Seto didn't know what had transpired since he had died so he took a moment to scan the throne room, Minerva had been killed as well most likely in the same regard but she was being revived by Lady Amane so that was good. Seto sighed at the scene of Ilusa reviving Astor, couldn't say he was really surprised by that, she was his pocket mage after all. The crying was what was he drawn him, the sight of the Felderen Princess crying over his father's corpse made him want to smack her but deep down he understood her pain more than most could. Seto limped his way over to @D'vangelline Falder

"That....is enough now D'vangelline, Do not cry over your father's death, rejoice that your father's soul can finally rest in peace from the pain he has endured. The man you once loved and respected will be waiting for you when your time is up in this world, until than it is time for you to grab ahold of yourselve and become the ruler your people need. There is no more time for such childish things.....I know you will do well."

Seto than turned to face the others before slowly walking towards the direction where they came from, Seto's voice softened as he spoke once more.

"Don't think for an instant I don't understand the pain you have within your heart. I know war and death and what it brings better than anyone here.....Don't let it consume your being.....You must become stronger not just for yourself but your people as well as the future."
