Personality
Sophie can often seem like a cold person when she's met outside of work. She's not talkative, brief in her words, almost expressionless. Though in actuality, her job in HR often leaves her emotionally drained. She tries to be caring and relate to people, though will usually try and hide these facts about herself and outright lie about her motivations. Helping someone is because it was easy or convenient for her, hearing someone out on their problems is so they'll hopefully get over it and so on.
She's absolutely afraid of being vulnerable to a person, and thus, even the people closest to her are held at arm's length. Anyone having anything over her that could be used against her in an emotional manner is something she constantly avoids that makes it difficult for her to make friends or have lasting relationships.
Positive: Selfless, Agreeable, calm, thoughtful
Negative: Destructive, Reckless, Masochistic, Careless
Biography
Sophie has been somewhat reserved for most of what she can remember of her life. She's not certain when exactly she started shifting to be that, but she recalls it all the way back to at least middle school. She would almost actively avoid people and isolate herself out of what felt like habit. She couldn't explain it to herself, why she felt the need to do this to herself. But every time she was around enough people, she'd find herself growing more and more anxious. Despite not being able to put these feelings into words, her feelings themselves were enough to justify her actions in her mind. This behavior escalated more and more throughout high school and into college, where in her second year, she dropped out and moved out of state indefinitely.
She managed to pick up a job in an office environment, working in the HR department. Her job let her sustain herself in a single bedroom apartment, with some money left over occasionally after bills and food. Her schedule made it hard to actually go out and do much, not that she'd want to in the first place. As a result of a desire to do
something with her time, Sophie picked up gaming as a hobby. Her favorites were things like JRPGs, things she could get a lot of time out of for her money, things packed with a lot of content to spend her time experiencing.
Over time, she became more involved in online message boards, though would almost exclusively lurk in threads. That's where she learned about Terrasphere. Sophie bought a VR headset recently for the novelty of it. She thought it'd be something nice but quickly found out that a large portion of the market was rather unsatisfying, at least to her tastes. So reading about some game that was only sent out by a glitched email, it sounded like a campfire story. But the descriptions of what the game was supposedly like made her intrigued. She searched around, trying to find a torrent link of some sort, only to be met with message board after comment section under articles saying that she wouldn't be able to find it on any publicly accessible sites, and would have to search elsewhere.
Sophie did just set, taking all the necessary precautions to do so, such as connecting to a VPN and using a particular internet browser. After a bit more searching, she finally found what she was looking for. A download link. She found it strange that it specifically required her to install the client through her VR adapter. But the curiosity of the situation would be well worth it in her opinion for finding what turned out to be one of the best ways for her to let out a lot of her bottled up feelings over the years.
