Personality
Ira's a snarky, arrogant douchebag whose unlimited credit card funds and exemption from the basic consequences of his actions left him as a disturbingly insensitive individual. He's wholly unempathetic and incapable of understanding how his words hurt others. Despite his duplicitous nature and ineptitude in connecting emotionally with others, years of expensive tutelage has left him with a strength in manipulating and leading others. Even if he can't understand and respond to others as a functional, healthy human, Ira can identify how others feel and use it to his own advantage.
When not in a position to use his natural charisma, however, Ira is a hot-headed, painfully frank person whose cutting words and permanent shouting strikes peoples' hearts (and eardrums!). All of his shrewdness, in the heat of the moment, is typically shoved away in favor of his aggressive solution to any problem that comes his way: fight. Or bribery. Whichever works.
And, when he's not in a situation where he's required to be a firm, strong leader or a violent brawler, Ira proves himself to think mostly with his genitalia than anything else. He's a flirtatious, promiscuous guy who can and will hit on anything that moves (or, in a time of desperation, anything that doesn't move). Strangely, in spite of his amorous behavior, Ira has never actually expressed interest in seriously bedding someone before—a possible clue to his true nature underneath layers of selfishness, charisma, and horniness.
Positive: Honest, affectionate, witty, persistent, meticulous, and shrewd
Negative: Narcissistic, snobby, self-centered, aggressive, promiscuous, and blunt
Biography
Irini Barlos was born on the thirteenth of May in Athens, Greece. He was the third son to the prosperous Barlos family: a group of upper class, modern aristocrats who owned a few businesses within Greek borders. Following the legacy of his great-grandfather, Irini and his siblings were expected to further the Barlos family interests by dedicating themselves in spreading the family influence through fields of politics, science, and economics. As a result of his parents' strict plans for his future, Irini was brought up in the lap of luxury. He attended exclusive private schools that were the height of Greek education and he enjoyed the wealth that being a Barlos brought him. He had everything he ever wanted—except freedom.
Despite his attempts to garner his parents approval, his siblings often outshone him in every aspect. Athletes and academics were produced by Ira failed in both regards, until he found his calling; his wily charms, youthful face, and sweet words landed him a profitable position as the family's foremost socialite. He learned to weave his way, form connections, and further Barlos interests by seduction and beauty until he forgot who he really was underneath the polite handshakes and sly smiles.
By the time he reached senior year of high school, Irini lost any sort of perspective on the lives of others. His spoiled, privileged spending bloated his materialistic ideology and his years detached from the lower rungs of society left him callous to the pains of others. The cutthroat nature of business negotiations made its mark and, as he enrolled in college with the intent of securing a degree in political sciences, he found that he couldn't relate with anyone anymore.
His family were distant, their expectations ever demanding, and his friends were few and far between (mostly being comprised by those who benefited financially and socially from having a relationship with him). It's no surprise that he lashed out when he did. Ira, upon graduating with a Bachelor's with plans to continue into post-secondary education, was stunned when allegations of various affairs began to surface.
Although later proven false, his reputation was soon in tatters from the scandal and, with his world falling around him, he had a single realization: for what reason was he living? He held no serious emotional attachment with anyone inside or outside his family and his sole motivation up until this point was to do as his parents told him to. And it was then that Irini decided that he wanted to make his life his own.
Soon enough, all the accusations of his degenerate person began to become real. Irini Barlos became the infamous playboy son of the Barlos patriarch and, in a fit of rebellion, he grabbed a one-way ticket to Terrasphere to live his new life free of obligation. There were no ties that bound him to his old world and this virtual reality seemed like the perfect escape.
