Personality
When she first started playing TerraSphere, Ezra was your basic eager newb ready to jump into anything the world had to offer her with both feet forward and eyes closed. She was very trusting, very friendly, and overly exuberant about nearly everything. Because of this, she found herself tackling an event that was slightly outside of her level range. Due to that and an unfortunate incident with another player, she perished and had to be remade.
Because of this, Ezra has become distrusting. She no longer takes people at face value and believes, to a certain extent, that most people are out for themselves. She finds it hard to fulfill her original role as a tank for events because of this. Her main allegiances lay with her Lady, Lucia Mierz. For her, Savannah will climb the highest mountain or swim the furthest distance. She is her only friend within the game, something which makes the female Death Knight sad in a way that she will not speak about with others.
Ezra is interested in TerraSphere and, more specifically, the NPCs that inhabit the world. She could sit in a tavern, drinking and laughing and singing with them for days on end if she had the energy. She finds their stories, personalities, and quirks not only endearing but amazingly realistic. Though outgoing with the AI of the game, she is much more withdrawn with other players. In the beginning, it was hard for her to know which was which but since playing for some time now, she’s become an expert at it. Sometimes, she will even act the role of an NPC to get other players to leave her alone. Sad, but true.
Should you be a player that Ezra believes she can trust, she is a great adventuring partner. She doesn’t mind sitting in the front of the battle and taking hits, protecting her squishy partners. She can listen for hours and hours to you rant and rave and moan and groan, all while either giving advice or trying to lighten the mood. She loves exploring the world, finding hidden caverns or treasure or enemies. She isn’t fond of puzzles, however, and generally doesn’t want anything to do with traps of any kind.
Since the introduction of fishing, she’s taken it up as a hobby and can be found near large bodies of water in her town clothes. She finds joy in entering the fishing competitions as well, even though she has yet to win one.
Positive: Courageous, Good-Natured, Incorruptible, Dedicated
Negative: Stubborn, Relentless, Faithless, Solitary
Biography
Addison was left parent-less at a very young age and sent directly into the care of her maternal grandfather. He did the best he could under the circumstances, but he was brought up in a time very different than his daughter or his granddaughter. Much of what he tried to teach young Addison fell on deaf ears, though she soaked in his creativity and his work ethic like a sponge. It was those things that allowed her to excel in her studies and, somehow, power on after his untimely death during her junior year of high school.
Juggling schoolwork and a job was hard for her and left her little to no time for recreational activities or much in the way of friends. She turned to the internet to get her social needs met and found many welcoming arms to fall into. She easily submerged herself in various fandoms, book clubs, and gaming groups and found a host of people rallying beside her.
On the advice of one of these internet friends, Addison checked out the recent job listings at a popular bar in New Jersey and sent in an application. She figured since she was heading to New Jersey for schooling, she could also work part-time at the bar should she be able to land the job. The job wasn’t glamorous at all – working at a bar very rarely is – but the pay was good and said friend even had a spare room that Addy could bunk in so all was well. She packed up and moved half-way through the summer after high school.
It was also this friend who introduced her to Terrasphere. Addy had read all the news articles she could get her hands on about the full-dive VRMMO genre and was mostly ready to write off the entire experience as something she didn’t need to add to her bucket list. But the way this game was hyped up by her friend, she couldn’t just let it pass by without at least trying it out.
However, things went south in New Jersey within the first year. Her temperament began to change after her first death in the game. She stopped going to class, started lashing out at men who were too grabby or women who were too snarky. To add insult to injury, her friend found a boyfriend and decided to move in with him, leaving Addi to foot the rent all by herself, which was impossible for her to do. A week before she was to be evicted, she packed up what little belongs she had and took a bus to New York City, hoping that her luck would change for the better there, though she was a girl with no plans, no higher education, and no money. All she had was the virtual world that she carried in her backpack to ease her through these difficult times.
