A mysterious masked heroine of the sword----That's the setting. Blader X is a bleeding heart who is none the less on a mission of vengeance to reclaim her honor. She is clearly in over her head and she knows it, and yet, she stubbornly refuses to throw in the towel.
She's a kind and puppy-like individual but when it comes to her realm of expertise, the sword, she clearly knows her stuff. Only, Terrasphere is not reality, and she often forgets that she has left the world of common sense behind.
X curiously uses an unsharpened blade to bludgeon foes. She draws her sword not for the sake of taking life, but rather to seek a purer strength with each passing day.
Positive: Earnest, Sensible, Kind
Negative: Easily-flustered, Out of her element, Bit of an airhead
Biography
A world-class fencer who once even competed in the Olympics of all things, she has since fallen on hard times...
Chosen as a test-subject-example for a certain mythbusting show, the question of the episode was whether or not natural skill could conceivably convert into tangible, effective experience within a VR setting.
Given the peripherals, Yonah was given two weeks to become acquainted with the system. After those two weeks were up, she was to participate in a VR duel against one of the world's top contenders in a virtual weapon-based fighting game.
Yonah lost, horribly. The myth was -totally- busted. This was all well and good, only Yonah had trained a bit too hard at the system, she had trained just a little too seriously at the peripherals. In the end, she was acquainted enough to move normally within the system, but during her duel she hadn't been able to fight the way she wanted to.
The result was her getting butt kicked on national television while appearing as though she was performing at the peak of her natural ability. She had convincingly made herself look like a fool. Ultimately, it was an embarrassing loss that made her look like a novice. Worse yet, she became a meme-- "flailing sword girl" --and from there on, that negative publicity dovetailed into costing her a sponsorship deal, her credibility, and her friends.
After a month-long period of shock spent watching various permutations of the original parody video of her fight on YouTube, Yonah one day received a mysterious email, an invitation to an online game. Feeling the universe was mocking her, she vowed revenge.
Donning a mask and the weapon of choice of her oppressor, an eastern curved sword, Yonah's plan was simple: She would conquer the world by becoming Terrasphere’s strongest and after doing so, cast off her mask and reveal her true identity. Then, she would act smug and rub it in everyone's faces.
Serves them right!!!
