Cycle 6
Stand your ground, stand your ground!
Several blows landed on D’vangeline’s greatshield, eliciting loud clanking sounds from its surface. Even in her madness, the girl knew that even a single mistake could lead to her demise in a matter of seconds. Just like with her father, she knew the the bloodthirsty immortals would not hesitate to deal a coup de grâce to her if the opportunity arose.
As she traded blows after blows, the child of light reflected on the life she had led. She thought she had let go of her grudge, yet Titanius managed to prove her wrong, and with such ease… Perhaps what she really wanted to do was to avenge her father and kill the immortals until they would not rise again. Her sense of guilt and grief allowed Titanius to become one with her, turning her from a dignified ruler into a puppet on a string.
At this point, the valkyrian knight was completely lost within her storm. Titanius’ tainted whispering was getting louder, spurring her to kill, and kill, and kill. But at some point, she had completely forgotten why she was even fighting.
Little by little, D’vangelline’s grasp on her shield weakened as her legs shook under the pressure of the unrelenting attacks. Before her, a magical abomination used its deformed and tendril-clawed hand in an attempt to breach her defenses. Despite its size, each blow had enough power to force the queen to go on the defensive. Eventually, the attacks managed to unarm the child of light of her greatshield, diminishing her ability to defend herself. Before she had the chance to retaliate, a magical bolt struck her forcing her on her knees. Like that, her suffering at the hands of dissonant takeover finally came to an end. The fallen knight’s frame met the obsidian ground with a thud. However, due to the group’s inability to rip her out from her altered state, D’vangelline began to convulse violently as she struggled to push Titanius out on her own.

You hear a deafening noise that you cannot comprehend. Listening to it for more than three seconds was enough to bring you down to your knees in pain.
When the Valkyrian knight was defeated, the entirety of the obsidian-like material shifted in color, steadily losing its black pigment. Pores and tentacles came to life once more as the environment’s fleshy-red and pink hues returned in another metamorphosis. This time, however, the otherworldly monster had become enraged and everything turned into a violet and insidious color. All around the group, the fleshy walls convulsed while the ground shifted and mutated, pushing them towards the middle, where a large cavity eagerly awaited for them.
Because of the slippery surface, not a single person was able to avoid plummeting 40 feet into what anyone could only assume to be the horror’s stomach. Those who were closest to the wall were caught by the sticky wall that immediately began drawing them into the fleshy interior. They were consumed.
The flesh at the end of the fall was soft enough to cushion the group’s fall, allowing them to get away with minimal injuries. However, a massive tremble could be felt as the surface of Titanius’ stomach tilted. The deeper part of the battlefield quickly filled with bubbling stomach acid. Those who fell into it and was unable to climb out melted to the bones as Titanius absorbed their liquified essence.
At the center of the slanted battlefield was the eyeball they fought earlier that day. However, it was pitch black and appeared slimy as though it had been coated with black tar. At the center of the eye, the iris opened up to reveal rows of teeth lined within the eye’s flesh. A few unfortunate players fell right into the gape and were gobbled up immediately.
As the adventurers began occupying the battlefield, eye slits opened all over the spherical black mass. Beneath the eyeball were a bundle of fleshy cord that appeared to extend beyond the surface. It was likely the thing that is controlling the various tentacles around the battlefield.
The final battle against Titanius has begun.
