NoahWithin the rather peaceful setting of the Upper Quarters where the rich made their time and took in their rather blissful atmosphere their leisure there seemed to be a steady chain of disturbances taking place in the streets slowly heading up towards the higher levels of the district. In some places well kept woman began screaming and dashing to the sides of the streets, and wealthy merchants yelling out at the unknown to stay away from their nearly broken goods. As the string of disturbances continued to occur many of those who viewed them began to take a much more clear look at the source. At the start of the chain there was a skinny rough looking fellow holding a brown cloth bound package for dear life as he ran through crowds or pushed the wealthy women to the side to clear his way and shortly behind him was a much more physically imposing ginger haired hair man chasing after him. The skinny looking fellow, as he ran through the streets, was clearly attempting every sort of play in his book in order to shake his approaching assailant from knocking over crates or people to dashing through crowded houses though no matter what he tried the Ginger Haired man was able to keep up. Eventually the skinny fellow saw his opportunity to get away from the chaser for as he began fleeing into a wealthy families house near the door that lead towards the room that lead to the back entrance and courtyard there was a large bookshelf next to a staircase. Just as he passed it and the ginger haired man entered the house behind him he kicked the lower portion of the bookshelf causing it to tumble and fall behind him upon the entrance blocking it completely from passage. Both the expressions of joy and pure relief were very much apparent as the skinny fellow exited the house into the courtyard as he knew full well that it would take his chaser at least 20 seconds to move the bookcase that was blocking the door which was more than enough time for him to vanish into the district. Though in that instant of relief the expression was once again replaced with fearful confusion as he heard the sound of a window breaking. As the sound of shattering glass scattered through the air behind him the skinny fellow could only turn his head around as he ran away from the house only to see his assailant flying through a newly broken window from the second floor with a rather painfully amused look on his face. At this sight of his makeshift plan being defeated his legs seemed to temporary forget how to run properly causing his movement speed to slow down and slightly stumble. While he regained his composure quickly it was clearly more than enough time for the ginger haired man to not only quickly catch up to him but quite literally tackle the skinny fellow through a rather well looking wooden fence. Sounds of snapping wood broke the air as the skinny fellow just now noticed that his situation just grew much much worse due to the simple fact that as the two of the them fell together he did not feel any thing resembling the feeling of ground under him. Instead of hitting a grassy surface or at least a stone one nearly immediately the look of fear in the skinny fellow's eyes could only grow as he saw that they were now falling downwards. Below the two was a near 20 foot drop onto a hard paved stone surface which was nothing more than another one of the various upwards slopped roads that lead towards the upper areas of the Upper Quarters. The skinny fellow knew that the impending pain that was quickly approaching was only going to be made worse by the simple fact that his chaser was on top of his back with both his face and belly face down towards the ground. Just a moment before the skinny fellow's body impacted the ground the Ginger Haired man both snatched the now air born cloth bound package and tightly grasped his own hair so that he would struggle less as he fell. In quite the painful sounding crash the skinny fellow quickly impacted the ground face and body first as the ginger haired man jumped off his body to lessen his own impact and increase the skinny fellow's own. "Haha... ha... Ow you and your stupid little ideas." crouched down standing a few feet away after his fall and slight skid across the paved stone the Ginger Haired man began to speak in tone that quite spelled out both demeaning and amusement. "Almost lost me a few times." the ginger haired man began to walk towards the now immobile man who's only response to the statement sounded more like painful moans than coherent words. "Key word being almost." Once the ginger haired man reached the man his feet moved slightly more so that his right foot landed on the skinny fellow's. "Noah... we... ugh... we had a deal..." The skinny fellow reluctantly spoke to his chaser named Noah there was a series of painful moan's and slurred words being uttered under Noah's foot, a lot of it slurred due to his face being planted into the stone road under him. "We did, but I just told you that I would tell you how to take it not that I would let you keep it. *Sigh* You disappoint me. But hey you did your part and now that you did once I return this, for a reasonable finders fee obviously, I think that some fortunate merchant will be more likely to give a few more good deals on prices don't you think.... ow and just so you know the bust is almost worthless outside of personal value. You'd get maybe 20 gold out of it if you were lucky." As the two of them spoke not only did the tone of Noah's voice change to a more cold monotone one but the few amount of people in the streets began to take notice of the situation and stopped where they stood at their various distances to see what was going on with the strange site. 1051 @Hades OOC | N/A
It was an interesting chase, one Hades watched from start to finish. Naturally she couldn't keep up with all of it, but tracking them wasn't difficult for Hades who was able to measure a person's worth through their experiences and life story. It was only at the end of their adventure that Hades finally felt it was time to do something about this joke, after all if the bust was broken, it wouldn't be a satisfying end for the Goddess who found the fighting distasteful. Her approach was quite noticeable, every click of her heels could be heard over the questions and confusion as she proceeded down the route the ginger used to bring the man down to a near death state. As she got closer, the bystanders and locals would slowly part after feeling her gaze on their back, the blank uncaring in her eyes carried a harsh frigidity that warded people away, as if she could drop the temperature with her eyes alone. Parting one person at a time, she made her way to the center of the small crowd where the man was being robbed of his hard stolen goods. "For every grievance there is a perpetrator, for every debt there is a collector. Though there was no enmity between us, you saw fit to risk something very precious to me." She spoke, her approach didn't stop as she tried to step onto and over the man Noah had been chasing, her blunted steel heel sinking into the man's back making him flail or cry with whatever energy he had left until she stepped off. "Even though it's not mine, you should have known better then to mishandle a bust of my consort." She spoke her monotonous tone droning with a lack of warmth or feeling as she proceeded to talk down to the man persistently, her choice of words was incredibly curt and a bit harsh, but she glanced towards Noah extending a hand in his direction. "Bust please--" She spoke, as if demanding, but her gesture was instead very patient. If he gave it to her he'd pull the wrapping off, if not, she'd simply shrug it off as if it were no big deal and continue. "Persephone is a very important figure, I'll not have someone defacing the image of my partner." She complained once more before exhaling a stoic sigh. Glancing back to Noah once more, she would offer the bust back to him if he'd given it to her, if not she would simply gesture at it as she spoke. "The upper limits of that price can reach 30 gold pieces, it could stretch as high as 70 with the proper names attached; even if it didn't belong to royalty there are 'new money' morons who would want it as a conversation piece at that price. I would argue for 40 or 50 if you found a merchant sleazy enough." She'd offer some advice, her tone still blank and uninterested, but her words were quite clear as she evaluated the uses of the gold. A bust that sold for 20 gold at the market price could be forced up to 30 with negotiation and 70 if the buyer was a moron. Those who were skilled at that sort of negotiation and dark enough to have no ethics or morals would no doubt buy it for a higher price since they could earn a higher return. This sort of math was done by Hades in passing, evaluating something as simple as a statue wasn't difficult for the girl considering the current market was something she helped to establish in her time in this world. Dusting her hands off casually, she felt she'd done a good enough job as she continued to complain. "Now, you and your boss also owe me 60 gold, I've come here to find where he's hiding, perhaps you'd be so kind as to enlighten me?" She asked turning down towards the now shattered and battered man, originally this was her purpose for tracking their chase, but her interest grew because of the object being acquired and pursued as well as the pursuer who did a good job to maintain moral ambiguity to offer help that wasn't helpful.
Noah Noah knew that with every word he spoke his reasoning for even continuing would decrease with each syllable though then again that rarely ever stopped him from mocking someone for their own idiocy even if that idiocy was prompted by himself; especially in that case. Even so the continued sounds of the broken man's whining and moaning under his foot began to grow more and more tiresome by the second further prompting the desire to be rid of the sight of that man at least until he needed his... services again. Though as Noah was just about to lessen up the strength placed on his foot the sounds of the small crowd around them began to shift and directed at a new sight. From the corner of his eye sight the image of a both exquisitely and strangely dressed woman came into being. "For every grievance there is a perpetrator... ... known better then to mishandle a bust of my consort." There seemed to be a air of awe, elegance, and even intimidation in the air surrounding the small crowds around them all of which most obviously stemming from the view of the Goddess in front of them most of which stemmed from a mere lack of knowing how to really respond to the situation. Even though they had seem many goddess before now the natural emotion towards here was vastly different as if it were required. Though if Noah were to be perfectly honest at his moment from both the sight of her appearance to the manner in which she spoke he just felt like the Goddess was attempting to compensating for something a feeling that could only be expressed by the current look on Noah's face; blank with a hint of confusion. On the other hand the mere sight of her placing her heel into the idiot as though it were a natural thing to do was quite amusing. "Bust please--" The Bust was not exactly a well known item that you heard about in every sort of nick and cranny of the city after all usually the only types of individuals who ever even saw it were those rich enough to do business with him and those outside of that circle tended to be those of less reputable professions and mindsets; Noah included. But considering the fact that not only did this Goddess know about the bust in the package but also knew the name of his former holder showed that she at least knew what she was going on about and more importantly actually had something to back it up. Even so the words were not exactly anything that would prompt Noah to hand over his well earned prize. "The upper limits of that price can reach 30 gold pieces... ... if you found a merchant sleazy enough." This would be the first time in the, for now, one way exchange of words that Noah would directly turn his face towards the Goddess after hearing these words making it seem at least at first that he was interested in what she was saying. "Well well aren't you just the generous wandering soul... but then again if you just want to look at somethings face value like anyone else... while you are not exactly wrong its just that no one worth their own salt would exactly call it right would they... though somehow I think that such generous advise is beyond some people." Noah's foot began to turn to the right and left to not just indicate as to whom it was referring to but just to reiterate his... well position there in case he had forgotten with the Goddess showing up. Every merchant worth his own knew that sometimes it was better off to hold out on a quick sell in order to gain something even more worth while another step down the road, it still usually lead to a profit in the form of a gold sum but also in the shape of something even more worth while in the futures market. This was essentially the entire theme that lead to the events that had just transpired; villain performs his act, hero steps in, and everyone important enough wins though it just would not exactly be mentioned that both parties in the transaction were more of villain than hero. But now this lead to a even more important question as to what exactly did the Goddess hope to gain from placing her foot in the circle of this event. "Now, you and your boss also owe me 60 gold,... ...be so kind as to enlighten me?" Mira, otherwise known by his more known name Little Foot, was not exactly inspiring image of a master underworld criminal boss that one would hope to get in bed with but he had his foot in many pockets in the city though sheer will, connections, and most importantly a imposing family name that made it difficult to cross him. While he had not done so in the last few years due to occupational changes Noah had dealt with the man before and found that he was quite simple enough of a character to deal with just as long as he thought he got the better end of a deal. In fact it was though those transactions that Noah had come to know the broken man that laid down under the foot the two and if this man was any sort of indication of the types of people Mira employed they could get a fairly good idea. "Ugh... you can both go f*** yourselves you little...." The well mannered words spoken by the broken man were cut rather short by his own returning grunts and moans of pain as the foot upon his head began to once again increase the pressure upon it. "Now now, is that any way to speak to a lady? After all she may of just saved your life." The words that came out of Noah's mouth were far more than mere sarcasm but also merely insinuated that something even worse was going to happen if the Goddess did not show up, there wasn't but he did not exactly need to know that after all before the Goddess showed up Noah was just about to leave him to his stoned fate. Though as Noah heard the Goddess speak he would be lying if he said that he were not curious as to which she hopped to gain by dealing with that idiot Mira. On a good day Noah could of probably told the Goddess what she need to know or at least a place to start if he were being honest, but his curiosity towards her intent was of far greater interest to him at this moment. "Try speaking again, with a little more generosity on your tongue." "...Why... why would I know where Mira is, let alone tell you?...ugh... What do you want with him, make a deal?.. let me up and maybe I'll just take you to him to let him deal with you." 1181 @Hades OOC | N/A
Hades only continued to blankly stare at the man for a long while as he spoke and as Noah spoke to her. Indifference still painted her face with no real emotion or clearly discernible intention. With a brush of her dress though, she only let out a light sigh at Noah's question about receiving advice for free, she gave an uncaring shrug, after all, nothing was free in this world to the goddess of wealth. "It will be considered your earnings for assisting me up to this point." She spoke, preemptively offering a non-monetary payment before explaining the reason why so that it couldn't be taken back or exchanged for something more worth Noah's while. This unfortunately was how Hades acted, to pinch even the faintest measure of advantage out of anything, she broke herself even with the man who made the effort to do this service for her trying not to leave any room to negotiate for more as she continued right through her explanation without pause. "As I said, I can offer any service for the right price-- Even ****ing myself, however you cannot afford this service. If you want, I can offer you a menu of things you can afford, but I'm afraid even with your life as collateral it does not amount to much." She explained shamelessly. Naturally, Hades had no problem with anything provided the price suited the service, but she quantified anything and everything including lives. "If I wanted to make a deal with him, I wouldn't have come trying to find you; I'm going to collect his debt-- Even if it means ripping the paintings off of his walls and the clothes off his back. We had a deal, and I will not allow him to renege that deal, it's that simple." She explained knowing that she was already beyond the point of making deals, instead her intention was to start repossessing the things that he owned until he paid his debt properly. "I don't need you for that job; now that I know his name, all I need is someone with free time and strength to do that. You've made yourself rather worthless in this situation by giving me that information haven't you?" She explained with a deadpan look, glancing away from the man on the floor as if he was already dead. She had a lack of interest in the mortal who no longer had any worth in her gaze. As if she could see the seconds ticking off of his life anyway, she didn't invest any more time in something that was about to dry up. "Either way, it's not as if any of us have to do anything to end you since you don't have much time left as it is." Hades explained flippantly, the man's life amounting to less then little to Hades before glancing up to Noah who had already completed one job well enough, there was still more on Hades' little to do list. "Now, I have some repossessions and debts to collect, I suppose putting out a request for help would be satisfactory; Offering what's left of their assets as a reward, I could collect it all rather easily." She mused, though her word choice made it seem as if she were talking to herself, her eyes didn't move from Noah. As if trying to anticipate the man's desire to participate for such an easy and morally ambiguous job that treaded the line between legal and illegal enough to not draw negative heat while not looking good to the public. "Requests are expensive though--"
