Close Encounters of The Mortal Kind (Open)

Discussion in 'The Slums' started by Khaos, Oct 7, 2016.

  1. Mortals were such delicate creatures. The primordial chaos loved them more than the gods themselves. All the different looks, ideals, struggles just to get by, and ways to survive in this unending chaotic reality. Sometimes they did find good moments too. Those happy and content times were less enjoyable to Khaos, but it was still a nice flow of warm feelings that was good to keep things fresh and make the next moment of plight that much more entertaining.

Khaos was dressed in a heavy robe today. She disliked making her presence too known at times, while at others she was going around on carried thrones. It really depended on her mood at the time. She kept her hood up as she approached her destination. A rough and tumble joint that saw it's fair share of troublemakers and drunks. There was nothing quite like watching drunk humans. Khaos was so pleased with Dionysus. It was one of the few of her progeny that may have understood what existence was truly about. Even if it was not a natural change of state. Alcohol was still a entertaining creation.

The hooded 'young lady' entered the tavern and went to the counter. She could feel the stares around her. She was different and they had not seen her before. The barkeep made a face when he saw the female under the hood.

"Hey you sure you didn't come to the wrong place? This is a tough joint. With a pretty face like that you could get yourself in a pretty bad spot girl."

He kept his voice down as he spoke. Luckily no one was at the bar itself today. Khaos's eyes finally settled on his and she spoke. He seemed taken aback from the sheer intensity of her gaze. She smiled a twitchy grin at him.

"That's exactly why this place is attractive. It is natural to be drawn to the more instinct driven types hmhmhm. The concern is wonderful thank you kindly. Now, give the hardest liquor you have."

The barkeep shook his head and brought out a large bottle. The stuff looked as thick as mud as he poured it into a mug.

"Nononono.... the entire bottle. All of it!"

His eyes widened and he laughed. Giving her the bottle she placed more than the drinks price into his hand, closing his fingers over the gold with her gloved hands. His look of greed and joy from the tiny pieces was delightful. Humans are always such a joy.

Taking the bottle as she twitched again and licked her lips in anticipation. She made her way to a corner table and sat. She sat there and waited for awhile. She had a good time planned in here. Oh yes she did indeed.

  2. Kessler pushed his way into the bar drawing gazes from a great many. His presence seemed to cause a mild hush to wash over the crowded bar. There wasn't a single person who wouldn't recognize this young man with blood colored hair and eyes. His pendant at his lapel labeled him as a member of the watch, a person who works for the authority figures in town as a guard, while his appearance and equipment further clarified his identity as an adventurer. His outfit was of a high quality, far higher then those normal adventurers, it detailed not only his potential as an adventurer but his ability as well.

While he garnered the attentions of the patrons, some were hostile a blend of envy over his reputation as an adventurer or hate for his status as a guard. The others however withered, whether because they'd seen him act previously or because they worried they would be next on his list for clearing out criminals. Regardless of how they viewed him though, the naive young man remained oblivious to the gazes of those around him. Instead, he looked down at the paper in his armored hand trying to read the handwriting as he spoke out loud. "Hello everyone!--" His overly cheery and bright greeting was perhaps grating on these individuals who were more seedy or darker by nature. Even worldly down to earth individuals might feel Kessler's sense of positivity and kindness at times were bothersome. "--I'm looking for... A Mr.-- Mr. Stein?" He asked turning his gaze upward.

This wouldn't be the first time Kessler came out to find someone; sometimes to try and arrest, sometimes because he was simply offering help. It was truly a crapshot trying to figure out exactly why he'd come, the warm kindness he radiated was always constant as if nothing could stain his gentle but meek demeanor, he really gave no indication that his appearance could be anything but happy. It was for this reason that some people got uneasy around him while concealing secrets, it was just hard to get a real beat on what he was thinking or planning.

  3. The taste of liquor was already kinda dull as it hit the goddess's lips. It certainly did not help that Khaos was actually never made drunk from it. The burning sensation was enjoyable for a being that did not possess a tangible form at least. Still, she needed something else now. Ah yes... something else...

A young man entered the bar and made himself pretty obvious as a outsider just by his mannerisms. Khaos could tell this one was a total lame o loser. This would be amusing indeed. Khaos stood up and moved quickly to the man. Her hand was placed upon his shoulder from behind. The deities eyes were set on him from under her hood with great anticipation.

"Mr. Stein? Why not just check a shrine or a mine? Hmhmhm.... are you fun? Lot's of fun is planned here tonight you know."

The crowd was now totally fixated on the two. Which was exactly what the undercover psycho god wanted. Khaos could not have asked for a better 'partner' than this guy....

  4. Kessler hesitated for a brief moment, reflexively, he seemed to stiffen from the hand on his shoulder, as if 'something' were meant to follow, but was suddenly restrained as he relaxed once more hearing the voice. Glancing back towards Khaos, Kessler couldn't help a weary chuckle at the goddess's words, not really certain exactly what she was thinking about when she answered his question. It was only after a few seconds' thought that he finally brought his hands together as if trying to nail his palm; a metaphorical light bulb going off as he felt he discovered the girl's intentions. "A very good rhyme Miss, though I hardly have the time. Mr. Stein is a friend of mine, one who may have come across a crime so I need to make sure he's fine." Kessler explained with a meek but cheery smile, clearly feeling proud of his alliteration. He felt the girl was merely trying to rhyme words at him and wasn't really intending anything else. Thinking he was clever, he tried to rhyme a response at her thinking that this would be satisfactory for this strange Goddess who wanted his attention.

"I can't say I'm too much fun though... I'm probably too serious for that sort of thing-- Maybe?" He asked as if he wasn't quite sure himself. The people in his life didn't really talk about him being a fun person or someone who enjoyed 'fun' in any sense of the word. They didn't exactly consider him opposed to it either, it wasn't something that ever really came up in the Hybrid's life. Instead, he was mostly referred to as incredibly innocent or two faced or monstrous. A word like fun hadn't ever really applied to Kessler in the past making him think that it probably didn't in the present. "I guess I like fun as much as the next person... but fun should always be had in moderation right?" He asked speaking such a mature and responsible line off as if it were natural.

  5. Khaos's face brightened just a little as the young mortal played along with her. She clapped some as her head turned back and forth, scanning the bars patrons. Her eyes settled back on the patroller again. Her eyes began to squint a little and a odd smile spread across her lips. Mortals were so entertaining and so full of life. The gods that created them had made the greatest contribution to the chaotic being they possibly could. Even this one tavern was like a gold mine of potential energy. Mortals truly were 'alive' more than anything else with all those feelings, ambitions and faiths. Of course she needed to know more about this one. Hopefully he'll enjoy today's show and emit some nice emotions! Still it was actually kinda unfortunate how close to the end of the cycle things were now... oh well. The next cycle will always come! She leaned a little towards him and whispered with a seductive voice.

"Being serious in the right situation... is always amusing as well. You know, the fiery spirit of determination, or the tender seriousness of love and sadness. Everything people do is pretty fun if it is done in enough excess. Oh my... moderation is soooo overrated."

Khaos poked her red nailed finger into the man's chest.

"Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moon light?"

She giggled and pulled her hood back. Long blonde hair fell out and fell long down her back. Her attractive face got some whistles from the unsavory band in the bar. The insane goddess began to snap her fingers and noticed her effect on the patrons starting to kick in. It was a side effect of her being in humanoid form. Those with weak wills would find their instincts and emotions much more prominent when she was around. The main benefit of this? It made parties of anarchy so much easier to perform. Dionysus's gift of alcohol was also helpful for this. Khaos made a cute face to the red haired mortal and ran a finger along her lips while rubbing the other on his chest. She made a wink.

"Dancing is a good way to get into a fun mentality. Wanna try it? Everyone else seems interested hmhmhm."

  6. Kessler only flashed a sheepish smile at the girl's efforts to make a seductive voice at him. As if the 'seduction' didn't quite register, he received her efforts thinking it was merely a strangely childish game much like her previous rhyming. Though her words again were riddled with confusion and a myriad of things without any relevance to the things going on at the present. It simply made him smile back brightly, the simple and childish man he was, Kessler didn't really have a problem with patience or feel bothered by these types. If they had fun pretending to be mysterious it would be in bad taste for him to ruin it right? "No, at least, not now." He confessed with a weary expression. "It's dangerous to do anything too excessively. Maybe in the future if I can get strong enough it won't be so bad for everyone, but for now it's best to be moderate in everything you do just for the sake of safety and such." He spoke trying to be kind in his efforts to divert or change the girl's mind.

The talk about dancing with the devil made him stiffen briefly though-- A devil he knew very well, it made his smile grow wry just remembering the face of his father. Certainly that man deserved to be considered a devil for a variety of reasons, the nostalgia faded quickly though, returning to the task at hand, he scratched a hand through his hair uncertain of exactly how to respond. "Well... The only Devil I really knew was my Dad-- That was his a part of his moniker as an adventurer at least. I haven't really danced with anyone though, I'm much more of a wall flower type I guess?" He admitted a bit shyly knowing that he wasn't someone who really enjoyed the spotlight, not with all of his failings, cowardice and weaknesses at heart.

It was only when the mood of the room changed with Khaos's hood coming down that his gaze listed from the goddess to the tavern around them. There were a variety of people who were changing their moods towards the girl, but they didn't seem to quite remember he was there. He wasn't one to really say who was attractive and who wasn't but they seemed drawn to the goddess in front of him, he didn't really have a better word then 'drawn' to describe it. Lifting a foot, he stamped down trying to use the loud sound to jar those few dazed individuals back, as if pouring a bucket of cold water over them, Kessler's eyes narrowed into a Feline slit as they slid over the crowd while he spoke. "That isn't a way to start a good Dance-- That's how you start Trouble." He spoke with a weary smile, but something was clearly different in that young man who seemed gentle and kind. The moment he stamped down, a thick killer intent surged from every pore of his body, the viciousness of his gaze grew staggering, a savage viciousness was thick enough to cut with a knife as he turned that volatile radiance on those around them.

"I can't tell you how to act friends... But please understand that a certain frame of mind is important for cordial relations with other parties and establishing a mutual respect. Please endeavor to sober up before initiating those types of pursuits or I will sober you up." He added with a gentle smile that didn't quite fit the sharpness of his cautionary words. Kessler knew his own power better then those around him after all, he was at the moment at least one of the more feared super rookies, it led to a little bit of confidence when it came to enforcing his sense of justice.

  7. The changing of emotions she felt form this lawful mortal was wonderful! He was more than he let on wasn't he? Did he think was a hero of justice or something more? Some humans did have messiah complexes. Oh those were pretty entertaining to watch at times... other times they were just speed bumps to the chaos of her world, and Khaos wished she could flick them out of existence. When he finally went to making a threat. The chaotic god made a look of excitement. This was going to go well after all!

"Your father sounds like he was someone to be careful of. A dangerous guy... like you maybe? Are going to get really, reaaaally dangerous if people don't listen to you?"

Khaos began to circle him as she spoke mockingly. The crowd was calming slightly and she needed them get them riled up, actually riled up was a understatement. The origin god loved to see how these creatures that were created by the spawns, of her spawns, of her spawns, ticked. She never had the opportunity to from such a distance. Being on a separate plain of existence as a untangible being was not all that fun even if you're a god.

During a pass behind him she wrapped her arms around his shoulders lightly. A whisper that only was directed to the red haired mortal was made right into his right ear.

"Do you really think humanity wants order when your very existence is chaos? Watch and learn tonight that you have so very little power over the base instincts of mankind."

She jumped away from him and threw her cloak off until a stool. Her voluptuous and unscarred body was almost on full display. She wore a exotic dancers outfit with bells dangling among the various bling. She leaped barefoot onto a bar table as the crowd burst into uncontrollable applause and cheers.

    "Yeah baby!"

"Damn I'm coming back to this place!"

    "F*ck Yeah!"

    "Shake it baby! Woohoo!"

    "How much!?"

The lust was like a surge of adrenaline to the deity of madness. Khaos began to dance and leaped from table to table as she spun. Busting out moves that would make Apollo blush and be hard pressed to keep up. Bottles were lifted and downed. The bartender was the only one who seemed to get bothered by this and looked to the man hoping he'd do something. Although what could one man do in a bar full of thugs and ruffians? No normal guy would have the guts to do anything but hope to leave in one piece.... but was he normal?

Khaos broke into a mischievous smile as she stopped for a moment on the top the bar counter. She posed seductively and waved to the crowd. Then blew a kiss.

"Thank you all so much! Such big strong wonderful crowd tonight! Now I'm sure you're scared of the big poopy head that wants to stop the FUN! But don't listen to himmmm! HehehHEHEHeheh... In fact I'll go out with the guy who is the strongest in here! Wadda YA SAY big boys!?"

Khaos was getting too excited and was beginning to lose her ability to maintain a even tone of voice. This didn't bother the dirty minded goons none at this point though! Shouts of who was strongest began to ring out. A chair flew and the bartender threw himself down to hide under the bar.

Ah yes.... total chaos. So good!

  8. Kessler could only flash a weary smile at the girl's response about his father and him being dangerous, if only this girl knew the reality. His father's moniker came from 'Handsome Devil' he was the type that could talk his way out of a paper bag or sell water to a drowning man, far from dangerous, he was a particularly charismatic adventurer. No, Kessler was well aware that he inherited his father's looks and delicate nature before anything else. If Kessler inherited any kind of dangerous elements, he knew it was from his mother, someone who was eventually referred to as a 'Living Disaster' by the guild for insurance purposes. "No... I can't really say I'm the dangerous sort. As much as things might go wrong, it only happens because there are people who don't want them to go right." He tried to offer an explanation, it was his personal belief anyway.

Though it was when Khaos brought up people's instincts and chaos that Kessler finally grimaced faintly, with a somewhat self-depreciating expression and tone, he could only watch with a heavy sigh as the goddess stirred up trouble in the bar. He could feel the eyes of the bartender on him, asking for help with his gaze that made Kessler sigh internally. "Geh... Troublesome things again. I told Mal he should have all of my luck with these sorts of things." were his thoughts as a helpless expression came to his face. The Bard previously hoped Kessler would trade him his luck for finding these types of women but it was a luck Kessler never wanted in the first place. Instead, he watched the chair fly knowing that he simply couldn't stay and watch. Kessler had been beaten up before, he'd been pushed down, beaten up, brutally stomped on and kicked from his youth trying to stand up for people. This was simply nothing new...

When the chair approached the bar, Kessler would lift a hand towards it, and perhaps Khaos herself would notice the change in his hand more then any other Deity as it made contact with the chair. His hands gave off a strong and ominous feeling as he swept it towards the chair, rather then him slapping it down, or even breaking it like some would think, there was a very unique reaction, one that didn't make sense. His fingers would begin sinking into the wood, cleaving it apart as if his blunted hands were blades, that faint touch was enough to split the wood like a knife or sword sliding through cleanly. Not caring about causality, about order, about cause and effect, as if he were breaking the rules he cut the chair down using his fingers resulting in it collapsing into pieces on the counter top before it could do damage to the bar behind. "It doesn't matter what humanity wants... If it wants to cause trouble, then I will change it-- If I'm not strong enough yet, then I'll just get stronger-- If I can't change it by following the rules, then I'll just break them."

He affirmed with a weary smile reaching out for Khaos's cloak, trying to gently toss it towards her to cover her on the table top, Kessler flexed then clenched his fists briefly. The metal that armored his hands groaned from the stress as he tried to place himself between Khaos and the crowd with a discomforted expression. "You're all causing trouble for this establishment. If you don't calm down, I'll be forced to eject you from the premises." He spoke before glancing back up to Khaos with a meek chuckle thinking through exactly how he should approach her words about going out. "If you're looking for company, there are better ways to do it then this though-- You should reconsider that maybe if not for my sake then for your own good?" He tried to offer advice, since she said she'd date the strongest, Kessler didn't want to be stuck with another strange girl.

  9. Khaos's opinion of the mortal became one of even more interest than before. This uptight party pooper was actually really strong and had a unique ability! The primordial chaos loved powerful people. They were like the largest game pieces on the chess board. The clashes between the powerful were so exciting and almost always destructive to those that got caught up in their wake! Khaos wondered which god was his master.... no god would ignore one like this. Then spoke of his thoughts on rules... he wasn't such a law abiding citizen then? Khaos began to think of just how far he meant to go, and what rules he was willing to break.

Catching the cloak he tossed towards the bar with her hand. Her attention changed from what was once the whole of the room, to just her new single interest. Oh she wanted to she if he did that to other things too. Could she get more out of him tonight? Not bothering to put it on she jumped down from the bar with grace and wrapped her arm around his snuggling up to him. She spoke quietly under the chaos.

"You would break the rules? Do you know what CAN HAPPEN to those who do? You're a GOOD one. K... I-I mean, I kinda like you. If just for awhile at least."

Those who noticed the man's effect on the chair grew pale faced while the others just took advantage and started to beat on them. The emotional enhancement made them more fearful than normal too so they began to scurry for the door. Three big thugs were the main ones who remained still standing and willing to fight. They all saw the others start running one after the other. They turned almost in unison to the red haired guy.

Khaos's pretty face began to twitch uncontrollably. She was barely able to maintain her normal vocal patterns. Letting others know which god was here wasn't really a big deal but it would make things less fun for her. Khaos's inability to control herself when excited did always make this sort of undercover stuff a pain. Well... they probably would recognize her later anyway if they weren't so drunk. She had no interest in returning to the slums for the time being, and who listened to the words of thugs and low lives? As long as she followed those insufferable rules to not use her divine power she wouldn't have to worry much about what other gods thought. Of course that's for as long as she could resist that one. Rules really weren't her thing after all....

She smirked haughtily and waved to the big guys. She put on a big pouty face.

"I have ALREADY chosen! This one is my new BOYFRIEND! Unless you can stoooop ussss! HeHeHehaHA."

The insane female smooched him on the cheek and then grabbed a bottle off of the counter next to her.

"He told me.... that you all fight like little girls! BOO Friggin' hoo Hahaha! Game OVER girls!"

Khaos glanced back at the red head as she took a big almost skip step ahead of him and shrugged. Making her body look limp and relaxed as if she might just surrender to him and leave. Then her face went wild an she started leaping back on the tables, she rushed towards the exit. Throwing her cloak over her body. The men were furious at everyone right now and one made a grab for her. She laughed and kicked him in the face with her bare foot. He fell back but looked really pissed now. The other two went for the red head who stole their supposedly stole their pleasure for the night and mocked them. As she reach made it to the exit she spun around one last time to her handiwork. The mad god gestured for the powerful patroller to follow her seductively as she vanished out into the night. She then began to run away. Shortly after the doors closed a bottle awfully like the one she held earlier flew threw the window crashing into a hanging lamp. It crashed downward as it burst into flames Quickly engulfing the table it landed on. Leaving a very quick to grow blaze. Luckily the barkeep took action grabbing buckets of water and cursing like a sailor.

"If she ever comes back here again! I swear I'll kill her! I swear! Aren't you security? Why aren't you taking action? Do something! Who pays you people?! God damnit!"

He shouted angrily as he tried to put out the flames.

  10. Kessler could only sigh a little, he certainly knew the problems with rule breaking, in truth he didn't like going that far. Even if he didn't like it though, it became a very necessary evil for the young man who wanted a true justice for those who couldn't achieve it themselves. Those fat cats who hid behind the 'laws' of the kingdom and dealt dirty money and promises behind the scenes were some such people. Naturally dealing with those people by following the rules was an impossibility, instead, Kessler would no doubt break the rules in those moments and dole out vigilante justice if the crime was harsh enough to require his intervention. "Whether I know what happens or not isn't really the important part is it? No matter what happens, I'd still break them if it meant I could do real good." He explained with a flicker of self-loathing. No matter what rule he broke or the consequences that followed, he was content with being the monster, a more qualified, more handsome and powerful hero would eventually take him out. Until then, he only had to make sure that his terror only harmed those who were villains themselves.

Of course, when Khaos began snuggling into him though, Kessler immediately stiffened, his arms swinging up without hesitating keeping his hands as far away from Khaos as possible. The reason however was purely because he didn't want anyone accusing him of being the person who instigated this act. Instead, he tried to inch away as much as possible without letting the woman fall, trying to slowly creep and shy away from her efforts to be close to him. Despite being 19 and marriageable, Kessler was not one who knew anything about the opposite sex; they remained a dangerous mystery to him that only got more puzzling and confusing the more they approached and showed interest in him. Exactly how to react or how to deal with this was not something he was aware of in the slightest, instead, he merely tried to distance himself from her and keep his arms away so as to not incriminate himself as some kind of deviant. "T-That's-- No closer please... R-Really you should only-- Only be that close with someone you care about. Haha-- Hahahaha." He started to awkwardly laugh after trying to caution the woman that others might get the wrong idea. His gaze listed to one side trying to avoid her in every sense of the word knowing that this was a trouble that was well beyond his expertise.

It was only when she began to flee like some kind of thief that he felt a bit more relieved. Even if the Bartender or owner was frustrated by her choice of exit, Kessler couldn't help whispering silent apologies in his heart for being happy that she wasn't clinging to him any more. Instead, he turned towards the pair of large thugs who were charging towards him with a wry smile. "Come now, you don't have to act like this you two..." Kessler started with a meek laugh, his sheepish expression clear even as his legs began to spread to a shoulder's width as they charged. "I can take both of them-- Minimize collateral damage-- Improvised weapons check-- Don't forget to turn them in--" His mind raced through this line of thoughts as he began to take action once his stance was properly set and his guard had been effectively raised.

With the pair charging towards him, Kessler stepped towards only one knowing that fighting both simultaneously would only waste time unnecessarily. With the man's arms up to grab him, Kessler's arms swung out to swat the man's arms away not wanting to maintain too much contact. Not leaving much for him to grab onto, Kessler's body turned inward as he lowered himself down thrusting his shoulder into the man's mid-section and his elbow into his crotch swiftly trying to bring the man down with a sudden sharp action. Using that debilitated thug as a shield, he lifted his hand trying to borrow the man's belt with a sweep of his hand for a moment, the action was smooth and it wasn't difficult since Kessler could slice through things with his fingers alone. Pulling the belt from the disabled thug, he swung it around towards the second one who might at this point be having doubts about his ability to handle things after seeing his friend drop. The first swing aimed at the man's hand smashing the buckle against his hand like a mace weakening his grip and hand as metal clashed with bone. The second swing met the man's wrist wrapping around enough for Kessler to be able to tug him forward. Using that momentum, he pushed his own body upwards using the pull to lift himself up with the help of a jump. His upward jump and downward pull was a move Kessler was very familiar with. Thrusting his knee up, he shoved it into the chin of the man as he was leaning downward, the force was thought shattering, but it was a signature blow for Kessler.

Breaking the pair, at least for the moment, he began using the belt and some fabric to bind the men together, turning his attention to the bar keep he could only flash a weary smile. "Well, it could have ended worse, and she's gone now. A table and a chair, not a big loss right?" He tried to offer some condolences and consolations. There were no doubt rowdy bar fights that ended worse then this. "I'll make sure she's not up to anything weird though, when the other guards come, please send these three off with them." He asked trying to turn out after the bizarre woman to make sure nothing crazy happened.

  11. A small carriage with no identifiable markings moved quickly through the dark streets. Another small individual rode it. They too were covered under a hood. The carriage made it's way to a street near the bar the incident occurred at. It halted and seemed to be waiting for someone. The rider pulled out a fresh and tasty looking apple, then began to carve at it with a knife. They continued this for most of the previous event. By now the ground had a lot of mutilated apple scraps, many in some interesting shapes!

Back in the nearby alley. The insane goddess had decided to take a break and wait to see if the patroller would follow her from the bar. Stretching out and taking a deep breath of fresh air. Khaos began to practice the whistle motion with her hand again. It was something she needed to signal her quick getaway tonight if anything had went awry. Though it really went pretty well and maybe was too predicable in it's outcome for her tastes. Khaos only wished it was a more bloody event. This was still to lighthearted to maintain her interests for long. That red headed mortal was certainly fun but he still played too nice since he had that... guardsman like style to him. It was his other aspects the god of discord craved to see more of. She couldn't help but hope he cleaved his hand right through his attackers. That would have been a great joy to watch!

Looking back towards the bar she folded her arms and waited. The robe blowing around in the night air revealing a bit of leg in the process. Truly she only had a finite amount of reasons to wait here for him. But she wanted to see him again for some random reason. Perhaps it was just her randomness as always. Simply running away completely without a last turn to this game would not be very nice.... and the red haired man was her favorite for the day.

  12. Kessler found his way out from the bar to chase the instigator with a heavy sigh, naturally this wasn't the type he enjoyed chasing, those without rhyme or reason wouldn't really be able to understand where they erred after all. Contrary to Khaos's desires though, Kessler wasn't someone who would bloody people who's only crime was being unable to control their desires. Instead, it warranted a naturally lighter punishment, he'd learned from Eliah not to hold back until he was ragged, but he wasn't about to go gutting random strangers. Instead, Kessler applied just as much power as needed to provoke fear or deter his attackers.

Instead, if she'd met him in the dungeon somehow, she'd see a very different result, perhaps the one she wanted in this situation. Kessler was a great deal more ruthless to the mindless attacks of the dungeon's monsters. His sleeves would always be stained up to his shoulders in red from every trip down, and his hands would need to be hosed off to try and wash the red of of his armored fingertips. Even now there were still occasionally dots of red in the crevices where it couldn't be thoroughly cleaned with his meager skills, but it was enough for him to look presentable. Seeing Khaos out there waiting for him, he was a bit relieved, gesturing at her from afar. "Not going to at least leave a name or something?" He asked wanting to make sure the bar owner knew who to bill for the damages, even if he couldn't find the girl's name, he had no doubt that she'd be incredibly easy to find regardless, so he wasn't too hung up on getting her to talk in this instance. It would however mean he went the extra mile to try and mitigate things properly if he made the effort.

Unfortunately, a carriage wasn't exactly the best means of escape against someone like Kessler, provided it came anywhere close to him, it would have to be a vehicle that could survive losing one full side of it's wheels. He wasn't particularly concerned with the person's escape, rather confident in truth that if needed they wouldn't be able to evade him, there just wasn't anything to gain from making that sort of a scene. "I'll make sure you get the bill for the tables and chair but I have to say please don't cause these sorts of messes again, it makes things harder for the people who are only trying to do honest work."

  13. The mortal of the day showed up! Khaos couldn't help but be glad. He was such a dutiful fellow. She needed to try and remember him. He could be a worthy piece in her chess board. Keeping her arms folded, the primoridal deity having a much different air about her than in the bar. No longer was she seductive in any way other than what her form naturally granted her. Her stare was as if she was analyzing every possible thing about him. All gods did tend to have this ability. It was usually used to decide if one should be granted a falna. This was not her reasons though. Burning his visage into her memory. She spoke but completely ignored his bill comments.

"The origin of your creator times many. Does that fulfill your request or just pique your interest more?"

Khaos seemed to finish checking him out and her face grew bored. Boredom was the worst thing for Khaos to feel because it usually led to something like a rise of wars and random world wide destruction until she felt like stopping. It actually became common for the Greek pantheon to just go "Khaos must be having a fit of boredom." whenever strange or disastrous things happened on a grand scale with no appropriate god to blame at the time. Some would even cover their own misdeeds by blaming things on the intangible being's mood swings. Of course, that was then. Now she was in a different situation. So her boredom was not so easy to resolve.

"...Soooo dull. Why do you things not just constantly preform for your goddess? Name, NAME NOW!"

The suddenly angry god pointed at him threateningly. Then her eyes started to become wet with tears as she pulled her finger back and bit it's nail between her teeth.

"Please oh please give Khaos your name? 'sob' Sooo bored... Khao wants to remember you. You're, kinda, sorta, maybe fun. ARGGGH I GAVE YOU MY name. Oops... teehee."

The nut job of a deity jumped up and down and shaking her head. Then she whistled hard by putting her fingers in her mouth. The nearby carriage began to approach. She stopped bouncing around and looked dead serious as she stood prepared for her departure. Maybe she thought he'd try to stop her? Or she was thinking something else? Probably just some random emotion as usual.

  14. Kessler was a bit surprised by the change in Khaos's demeanor, but didn't invest much surprise into it Kessler himself was someone with two very clearly defined sides after all. Getting awed by the revealing of someone else's was probably even rude, so Kessler refrained from investing much into the woman's change. Instead, he scratched his head in thought knowing that the woman's words however unfortunate wasn't exactly true. "My creator? My mom's origin? That can't be right." He admitted with a weary smile knowing his own ancestry well, the woman wasn't a member of his family he knew, even if he had been aware of her identity as Khaos at that time, he wouldn't have believed she was the origin of his mythological creator. Kessler was from Amaterasu's Familia, the origin of his creator, his primordial god was Izangi as far as he was concerned.

Hearing her name was a definitive win for Kessler though, thrusting a hand up victoriously, he laughed with no hard feelings, a very innocent and bright laugh as he nodded back. "Perfect! Thanks-- You're not so bad after all maybe." He admitted kindly, rather then others who might view Khaos as insane, Kessler had the mistaken view that she might merely be misguided or troubled. He had no reason to look down on her or question her nature after all. Instead he considered not giving her his name for a variety of reasons. There was just so much that could go wrong after all, coming for revenge, or troubling him here or there, there was a lot that could presumably go awry. Though in the end, his good conscience and optimism won out over discretion and common sense. He would endeavor to believe in the good in people before believing in the bad.

"Kessler... Kessler Cole is my name. That's... Probably not too hard to find out though." He admitted with a wry expression knowing that this was probably going to come back to bite him later. He didn't try to hide it too much though, at the very least he had the awareness to know he was somewhat infamous in some circles. "I'll tell them to bill you for damages then-- get home safely!" He offered knowing she'd be picked up, he was prepared to stop her or pursue if she didn't give her name so readily, but he managed to get it rather easily. Instead or twisting off tires, he simply let it continue watching the woman go if she was intending to leave.

  15. Khaos stood calmly as the carriage approached. The red haired spawn spoke his name. Kessler Cole... whether it was his true name was not all that important. At least now she had something to use when speaking of him. The mad goddess heard him call her "not so bad". That was actually true. Khaos was a seeker of just about everything a dark or evil god would love. However until the time came to end it and return everything to it's origin, she had no desire to permanently destroy or end life. Actually ending life meant no more enjoyment could be gained from that object so only things that truly had no more use were completely eradicated by Khaos. Of course, the biggest problem with her was she did enjoy terror and mass destruction. So unfortunately death was a side effect of her actions more often than not. Also her own uncontrollable madness would cause many random accidents. Watching things explode was too much fun to just ignore.

Khaos made a small and surprisingly gentle smile to him after he stated his name spoke of bills and then began to depart. Her carriage stopped right next to her as she opened the door. This night of meager chaos was at it's end.
