"I'd like some thyme and a god, please."

Discussion in 'Trade Quarters' started by Ike, Oct 17, 2016.

  1. The trading district was crowded this afternoon. The shopkeepers were selling their goods, chanting varying prices as adventurers tried to haggle down the price of the overly priced goods. However, the lasting harmony in the trading district was about to be disrupted as a new and clueless adventurer was on the prowl to find himself a god, an unlucky god at that.

Ike stormed through the crowd, excited and seemingly in a hurry to get somewhere. A badly scribbled map was the only guide the clueless newbie had to go by. The blond didn't move through crowds very well though, bumping into people every now and then, followed by insulft and Ike apologizing for his clumsiness. Eventually, the young adventurer had made his way accross the lively plaza, finally reaching one of the alleys. Ike sighed heavily as he took a look at the map, he was officially lost. An hour or two spent asking around for herbal cafe's had Ike finally back on track. He had found it the shop where his would be god was working at, though it didn't seem like a place one would likely find a god.

Barely able to hold his excitement, Ike barged into the shop, tripping over the threshold as he came in. He managed to keep his balance just enough to keep him from faceplanting into the ground. Embarrassed, Ike scratched the back of his head before muttering, "Ehm .... sorry about that." The blond chuckled as he apologized for his brute entrance. The scene he had caused, had all the employees looking at him. "I'm looking for Briareus." He continued after a moment of awkward silence, which was followed up by an awkward chuckle of his own. "Someone told me he'd be the perfect god for me .... Do any of you know where I might find him?"

    Briareus likes this.

  2. Shortly after the young man had walked in and asked his question, a loud shatter sounded throughout the café. As for the source? It was a timid looking, silver haired youth out on the floor. Petrified with horror and face colored a deep red, he stood there frozen, his eyes fixated upon with what appeared to be an overturned tray of spilled beverages. Broken glass shards remained scattered across the floor.

A desperate look was given towards one of the other employees as a silent plea for help was repeatedly sent. Hands trembling from embarrassment, his eyes welled up as if on the brink of tears. Thankfully, a maidenly figure had already shuffled over to him and taken control of the situation. “Bri… it’s okay. I’ll handle this. Go over there and talk to that man. He’s here to see you apparently.”

A soft nod was given as he stared meekly at the stranger standing near the door. Instinctively shuffling a step back, he’d hesitate before moving forth to greet the man.

“W-welcome! … How can I help you today?...”

His voice trembled a bit while speaking. Eyes distinctly avoiding contact with the café’s newly arrived guest, he’d attempt his best to put on a brave front. Unfortunately for the titan, his best wasn’t exactly passable.

  3. Ike looked over at the display, chuckling softly as the man guiltily looked around him. It looked like a scene out of his own daily life, almost in the exact same way Ike had made his entrance into the café. As the silver-haired man made his way over towards Ike, Ike could already feel the awkwardness within him rising. He scratched the back of his head which was accompanied by an awkward chuckle, the man didn't really seem like he was too happy to meet an adventurer.

Ike raised an eyebrow at the man before him, the way he spoke didn't really make him seem like a god. He didn't look like a god, a mythical being of great stories, but then again it was his first time meeting one. Ike bowed in greeting, before introducing himself, "I'm Ike Akiba I'm looking for ...." Ike's eyes shot wide open as the physical discription of the man in front of him started to sink in. Silver hair ... Withe ... Willowy. Ike's lips formed into a bright smile as he realized. who he was talking to.

    "
You're Briareus, aren't you?!" The blond exclaimed as he drew his conclusion, immediately reaching out his hand to greet the god before him . "Nice to finally meet you! I've been trying to find my way here the entire day." Ike chuckled, a bit ashamed of himself, as he scratched the back of his head with his free hand. Ike's eyes shot open once he realized something, he was being to informal to a god, which to him seemed like a bad thing. The blond immediately shifted from his carefree expression into a bow, his eyes diverted to the ground. "Excuse me for my rudeness, I'm an aspiring adventurer and I would like to join your familia." Ike said hoping he hadn't made the god hate him already.

  4. It was a fair statement to say that Briareus wasn’t exactly the most enthusiastic when it came to entertaining adventurers. More times than not (especially when pertaining to women), most of their lot came with qualms regarding Korra, be it her laid back demeanor… or rather persistent tactics. Needless to say, the titan found it incredibly troublesome when dealing with varying types of strangers.

Upon hearing the newly arrived guest speak his name, he’d sent yet another desperate look back at a coworker before eventually returning his gaze to the lad with great reluctance. “Yes…?” His voice sounded out with hesitance despite the surety of his answer. It was most likely due to an extreme lack of confidence.

Danger signals continued to sound off within the silver haired deity’s mind as the adventurer resumed speaking. Oh god… he’s been looking all day? Just what on earth did you do this time, Korra?!? Taking delayed notice of the offering for a handshake, the god’s mind eventually caught up with reality. As if by instinct, he’d quickly dodge away from the extended limb due to the stark invasion of personal space. Given a moment or two, the realization of his social folly would kick in, causing the youth’s face to flush an astonishingly bright red as he’d quickly bow with an apology.

    “Excuse me for my rudeness—“

“S-sorry! That really rude of me!” Perhaps the prescribed course of action wasn’t fitting for a god, but from the perspective of an employee at a café… it seemed appropriate enough. The book didn’t exactly cover this particular scenario.

An awkward silence quickly filled the space between the two of them as the titan looked up with a bit of confusion. “Wait… W-what did you say?!?” His voice sounded a bit shaky as he gently probed with a hint of disbelief.
