Jayden Heartly The still of the morning was disquieting. Jayden paced back and forth in front of the Tower of Babel. Today was Jayden's very first time delving into the Dungeon himself. His hand was planted to the hilt of his sword, as it usually was. His nervousness was getting the better of him, as he bit his lip in solemn wait. His patience was gradually waning, as a short-stemmed, finite resource that he had not much to spare. He desperately wanted to invade the first few floors of the Dungeon, racing through and slashing beasts down and exhausting himself with endless battle and glory, just so he could go home and eat, sleep, rinse and repeat. Though he tried his best to keep this fantasy under control, he was grinning the whole time as his footsteps made mild clacks against the stone ground. He was awaiting the arrival of three other members who he had decided to go into the Dungeon with. He figured for his first time in, he should go with other people as to commemorate the moment, but also due to this very short-lived apprehension. While the first floor was nothing to write home about in terms of danger, it was still his first time entering, and not only that, but there was very little telling what kind of things could roam through unexpectedly. Tales of creatures escaping from lower floors and rampaging up was not unheard, and thus Jayden decided with his better judgement (for once) and put a want ad up for other Adventurers and Supporters to aid him. It was now roughly five-thirty in the morn. The declared time of meeting was roughly five-forty-five, but Jayden got here before the sun even began to peek over the horizon. The excitement for today was so overbearing that he could barely sleep a wink. Instead, he spent a large portion of the night practicing his heroic greeting for the people he was meeting today. All that was required of the ad was a name and position, so he hadn't much of a clue as to who was going to show up for the meeting today. Nonetheless, the black-haired hero-in-training was simply bursting with joy. His face was positively beaming, his grin wide and his energy full to the peak. It was as if the lack of sleep from the evening before had completely dissipated. He watched the small clock in the square by the Tower of Babel in anticipation. Five-forty-one. Jayden made a small squeal, taking the moment to jump for joy and let out a preemptive cheer for the momentous occasion. While he was almost sure nobody was going to be around yet, or at least this early, he was desperately hoping nobody saw him do that just then. @Soren Kalamalos @Shigure Kosaka @Choir Liore OOC Notes: Only for the introduction posts should we sort of order our posts, but once we're in the Dungeon we can drop post order.
@Jayden Heartly Soren had woken up early, earlier than his normal time to wake up. He had to, because he was supposed to meet someone early today. Groggily, he got out of bed and tiptoed out the room so his father wouldn't wake. He'd be a nervous wreck if he was awake, fretting over his son over taking the role of a supporter and with this being his first trip into the Dungeon, who knew what would lay in there? He slowly packed everything he thought they needed on the trip, having done about half of it last night before he went to bed. He was sort of cursing himself for not finishing the job, but then again it was early and he was a little cranky about being woken up this early. Heaving a sigh, he shouldered the very large bag and stepped outside. The sun was just beginning to rise as he got out and breathed in the cool air. Cold... he thought as he made his way to the Tower of Babel. He weaved in and out of the city streets, never keeping his eyes off the tower. It was the landmark he used to be able to find his way towards it. After some time, he reached the tower and began looking around. His eyes fell on a pacing boy with horns on his head. He had to raise an eyebrow, but shrugged it off before approaching him. "Excuse me," he said, "Are you Jayden Heartly? I'm here to act as your supporter."
If it was one thing he was good at, it was sleeping in. Still, despite that, he was not going to be doing so today - he had plans. Important ones. Something he needed to do in order to really get started in life, as well as in the Dungeon itself. That, of course, was the plan. It took him a little bit of time to get ready, making sure to tighten all of his leathers, grab a few extra bowstrings in case they were necessary. His quiver was full - he was ready. Or at least as ready as he'd ever be. And yeah, he might have cheated a little and taken a nice bath before he went, but that was just because hey, if he was going to mess this up and die, he'd be leaving a clean corpse. He didn't even say goodbye to Skadi - they had a pact of mutual interest, but he wasn't a 'servant' by any stretch. A familia was... different, in his opinion. While there wasn't anything inherently wrong with being a servant, he had his own goals, and though he would certainly aid his familia if they needed it, he wasn't going to call his matron Goddess his master. He was his own master. Choir was considering leaving behind his shoes, but he honestly didn't know the interior of the dungeon. It was a possibility that doing so would leave him open to things, even if it was better for his magic. Settling on keeping the shoes ( but being willing to part with them in a pinch ) was the end result, and how he found himself outside the Dungeon. The half-elf approached, in time to hear the name Jayden be uttered by one of the individuals gathering. He perked up slightly, the redheaded Liore knowing that that was the name of the person who started the party. He approached, casual, nodding his approach. "I overheard your name - I'm Choir. It is a pleasure to meet you both. I will be your bowman today." He patted the bow that was strapped across his chest, as though it weren't positively obvious what he'd be doing. From what he'd seen, most Adventurers were the type who hacked and slashed - he preferred to eliminate the problem well before it was a problem. Today would be his first test, it seemed. Perhaps a first for all of them. @Soren Kalamalos @Shigure Kosaka @Jayden Heartly
No moment wasted Shigure was the last to arrive. She was the worst morning person as she fumbled over her own feet while yawning. Morning was her bane, she at least got her I rank armor and weapons with her, but forgot to bring her H rank gear leaving her figure revealed. Tail flicking around slowly as she looked like she was ready to fall back asleep at any moment when she arrived to see the three males, one questionably but she simply assumed all males and slowly waved. "Nyaa, I hate mornings~" A light voice emerging from her lips as she kept walking, not fully bothering to stop and talk with them, she wanted to get something to drink from the guild before she went into the dungeon, just to wake herself up anyways. If they entered behind her they would find her waiting at a small counter as a women came back into view with a steaming cup offering it to Shigure who hopped off the high stool and stood the shortest of the group, within the cup, warm milk and coco resided. "So Nyaa all ready to likely be brutally murdered if not worse?~" Yet again speaking in a light, and now even slightly playful voice despite the grim words spoken as she sniffed her cup before sticking her tounge in to check the heat. Quickly moving the cup away from her mouth before she spoke again, taking a brief moment to fan her tounge beforehand. "So Nyaa isn't much help this early in the morning... So try not to expect to much from me until I finish my coco.~" With that Shigure's tail swayed calmly and she went towards the dungeon entrance, not so much caring of the others took the time to follow her or not. She was just fine on her own in this place, the party was simply to mix her solo grind up a bit. @Jayden Heartly | @Soren Kalamalos | @Choir Liore
Jayden Heartly Jayden jumped, frightened, originally not prepared for the swift arrival of basically all three members of the group within the span of moments. However it seemed that everyone he was expecting to show up had made their way with decent time to spare. Five-forty-two. As the men who introduced themselves as Soren and Choir introduced themselves, Jayden lent out both of his hands to shake. They were bolstered by onyx claw-like gauntlets that reached up to Jayden's wrist, which then devolved into a black sleeve of fur which braced over his forearm and bicep. His grin was brighter than the sun at this hour. "Ah, good morning! You'd be right, I'm the one who put out the ad. I'm ecstatic you showed up! My name is Jayden, don't forget it okay?" Speaking this phrase, he placed his now free hand on a hip, as the other jutted out a thumbs up. His ability to control his excitement was reaching an all time low. In contrast to the now approaching Shigure, whose tail lackadaisically waved about, Jayden's own tail was whirring with excitement. If his horns didn't blanket over them, then it would be visible his ears were perked. His excitement was impeccable and visible. "Aye, we can get going now if you all are fine with that." Jayden somewhat disregarded Shigure's attitude, his own blind optimism of delving into the Dungeon overpowering her destructive pessimism. His childhood dreams revolved around a moment like this, so he would not allow anybody, even someone with more experience than he, ruin his mood today. @Soren Kalamalos @Choir Liore @Shigure Kosaka
@Jayden Heartly @Choir Liore @Shigure Kosaka Soren didn't hesitate to shake Jayden's hand, a soft smile on his face. He wasn't the only one that was excited, the dark elf couldn't wait to get the party started and go into the Dungeon. Yet, he was feeling apprehensive, for he wasn't sure how dangerous this first trip would be. Would they run into something far worse than they could ever imagine? But that was only if they went into the lower floors, so he didn't know. He turned his head to look at Choir. "You're a bowman too?" he asked, "I'm also a bowman. My bow and arrows are in my pack right now." He paused. "...Maybe I should get my quiver out, just in case," he said with a sheepish grin, "One moment." He took off his pack and opened it, retrieving the quiver full of arrows. Once that was done, he closed the bag and shouldered the quiver and the bag onto his back. "Alright, there we go."
The lady - for she was the only woman in the group, it seemed - was fully content to just... mosey right on in. He wondered if he, too, would be that disillusioned with the Dungeon once he'd had some experience with it. Part of him couldn't imagine it - he'd spent the past four years getting himself to a suitable point where he felt like he'd make it in the first place. All the horror stories one heard about new Adventurers that were murdered in their first few steps... It was just... strange, to see someone so lackadaisical. He did, however, nod along, as Jayden made sure they wouldn't forget one another. Nyaa ( because the way she spoke made him assume that was her name ) just... went in, and Jayden followed along. Soren, however, seemed to hesitate as well - the two of them, though, were not going to be front-liners, it seemed. Choir smiled at Soren and nodded. "Just in case." He agreed, and waited for the Supporter to get his own weapon ready. "It's nice to see someone else with a bow. It seems most Adventurers prefer getting close to the monsters." Ah well. He should probably learn more than basic defense - just in case something got too close, too. Hmmm. He walked next to Soren, gesturing at the mouth of the Dungeon. "We'll be just fine. The four of us together? It will be easy, I'm sure." It wasn't false confidence or bravado - he was just positive that four people would be able to handle the first floor at least. Plus, they'd be close enough to the exit to make a dash for it if they had to. And with that, he made his way into the Dungeon after Nyaa and Jayden. @Jayden Heartly @Soren Kalamalos @Shigure Kosaka
No moment wasted Shigure likely took her decent down the stairs the slowest. Her left hand holding the handle of her cup as she blew over the rim to try and cool it down while she carefully went down each step. Her lazy eyes fluttering as she watched the other three before her. "So are Nyaa all Rockies or something?" Shigure was not truly making a baseless assumption. Anyone who came down here to excited was either insane, or new to the dungeon. Reaching the first floor she tested her tounge in the coco again and audibly purred with delight. Tounge licking up a bit more of the coco before she tipped the cup and slowly enjoyed her drink as she walked. Her ears twitching with each sound to guide her as she was fully intent with enjoying her coco. "So Nyaa want to fight, or just get a feel for the place first?" Shigure spoke slightly more cold this time as she began to wake up from her drink. Right hand slowly pointing down a passageway. "Two goblins that way, at least that's how many I can hear." Shigure lowered her hand to her side as she drew a shuriken from her side bag and looked forward. She never liked the first floor because of how few monsters that got left. The thought of it being morning and few people entering before them had not fully registered with the half asleep cat folk as she took another few sips of her coco. She would remain in the back of the group, mostly because she trusted none of them with her back, and it was easier to get out of the area if things went south. @Jayden Heartly | @Soren Kalamalos | @Choir Liore
Jayden Heartly After finally catching up with Shigure, and catching the back-end of Soren and Choir's conversation, Jayden unsheathed his blade, taking it by the hilt and getting a rather firm grip upon it, stiffening his wrists. His stance was rigid. Shigure perked up, pointing about goblins and if they would prefer to start with exploring or fighting. The first thing Jayden did was glance over, his eyes glossing with childish excitement as he saw them in his view. Maybe it was because he was finally seeing his first monster anywhere relatively close. His grin grew devious, now brandishing his blade a bit more ferociously. "Sure, let's give ourselves something to look forward to! Nothing like delving right in, eh?" Jayden's impatient behavior would prove less than fruitful, as he was the one to lead the charge towards the goblins without exactly gaining the consent of his group members. Not only that, but as his feet carried him within ten or so meters of the things, the walls began to shake semi-violently. Jayden halted on his heels, the recluse of safety evaporating nearly instantaneously. His eyes glanced to the walls, his heart sinking as he saw two more goblins emerge from the area on his rear. Jayden had blindly run into an ambush of four goblins with his teammates at least some meters behind if they ever decided to assist him after he suddenly gave chase. Cornered, Jayden held up his blade, his eyes narrowing on the targets in front of him instead of behind him. His idea was to strike the targets in the front, though this was a risky maneuver, especially for a "rookie Adventurer." He heard her ask the question, though he kind of spaced out during that sequence as he was so enthralled with the First Floor as they finally descended to it. "S-Shit, there are more than I thought!" Rookie mistake. @Choir Liore @Soren Kalamalos @Shigure Kosaka
@Choir Liore @Shigure Kosaka @Jayden Heartly Soren remained quiet, shrugging at Shigure's question as they descended down the steps to the Dungeon below. He honestly was a little afraid of coming down there, if only because of the possibility of being outnumbered and without protection. He shouldered the bag and quiver once they reached the bottom, having finally entered the Dungeon. Next thing he knew, Jayden had rushed into the fray, towards a bunch of goblins minding their own business. His blood ran cold when he saw goblins coming out from the walls. An ambush? Did they had this planned? How did they even get into the walls just to prepare for some hapless adventurer wandering in?! He swallowed thick as he realized he forgot his bow in his pack. He began to berate himself mentally as he dropped the bag and began searching through its contents for it. "Can someone help him out?" he asked, worry clearly on his face.
No moment wasted Shigure was rather enjoying her coco at the moment when Jayden rushed in like a rookie and got ambushed. She stood there watching the support as he forgot to get his own bow out before entry. A low toned sigh escaping her lips as she casually lifted the cup to her lips with her left hand while her right hand opened her side bag and held two shuriken. 'Throw them at him, make him a easier target for the goblins!' Shigure listened to her inner voices as she throw the stars towards the group. Shigure was bad with aim sadly, and her not trying to aim the shuriken did not help. The two projectiles missing the goblin's to Jayden's back side, and if he dodged right he would be hit by them, but if he went left or stayed still the two pieces of metal would lodge into the goblin's eyes to his right causing Shigure to click her tounge as she lowered her cup from her lips and set it to the ground. "Dam rookies, if your going to be reckless at least have the right gear or fighting style to make it count!" Shigure reached into her right armguard and got out her tanto before rushing forward. She first slid across the ground past the other two members of their party, her moment starting to twist as she spun low to the ground taking out a leg of each of the goblins behind Jayden before rushing after him. She gave no word she wanted to two archers to deal with them, she simple kept going forward, running towards the wall before she jumped towards it and cut diagonally past Jayden and lodged her tanto into the forehead of the likely blinded goblin as she crashed into it and landed on the ground as it began to vanish. Tail slowly flicking with anger as she rose to her feet, her face devoid of any expressions. @Jayden Heartly | @Soren Kalamalos | @Choir Liore
Apparently, things went a little sideways almost immediately. Jayden had no desire to move as a group, which would no doubt need to be addressed thoroughly when they survived this situation. ( Of course, that was a hopeful ‘when’ – rather than ‘if.’ ) Bow in hand, he was already drawing an arrow from his quiver, drawing the string back and leveling a shot. Apparently, though, the lady ninja was in motion already – barely moving her drink in the process. A pair of shuriken sprouted from the eyes of one of the attackers, so he shifted his focus off to one of the ones that had popped behind Jayden – he released the arrow and it lodged into the Goblin’s back. It let out a screech, even as it tried to reach behind it to grab at the offending shaft. His eyes narrowed as the blur of the girl dropped that one – and the one next to it. She was quick, faster than he was, even, as he already drew out the next arrow from behind him. He couldn’t even argue with her words. She was one-hundred percent correct on this. Jayden had gambled his life on the off chance that everything would go as planned… and he’d been wrong. Were he on his own, he’d likely be dead in the next two minutes. Still, that talk could happen in a bit. His hand twitched slightly, and the arrow slung itself through the air, impaling one of the downed goblins. He hadn’t even noticed that his fellow archer had only gotten out his quiver – he’d mostly assumed that it was, perhaps, a concealed crossbow. Yikes. A third arrow hit its mark, and the two goblins she had left in her wake fizzled and popped out of existence – his arrows falling to the ground. Well, at least that was convenient. He approached, casually, picking up the fallen arrows as he watched Jaden – he only had the goblin-with-shuriken-for-eyes left, and it was more interested in dislodging the weapons than murdering Jayden. @Jayden Heartly @Shigure Kosaka @Soren Kalamalos
Jayden Heartly The predicament in which he found himself was rather dire, until it seemed almost all at once the group around him began to assemble into action. He heard the sound of steel slicing through the air, realizing a goblin in front of him was swinging a crude dagger in his direction. By the faint chance reaction, Jayden swept himself to the left in a roll as two steel shuriken to whizzed by his head. They plunged into the soft membrane of the goblin's eyes right in front of him. Jayden's eyes widened in horror, watching it struggle to pry the steel from its eyes as it released a frightening shriek. The boy's attention was drawn to Shigure who flew past nearly as swiftly as the shuriken she threw, striking down the other goblin who had not been blinded. Her technique was swift and saturated in finesse. Her strike was clean and lacked the sheer brute force that Jayden's own usually had, in favor of precision. He watched her graceful strikes, despite just earlier being called out completely on his mistake. He knew in the back of his head that the group was definitely going to have some comments, questions and concerns for such a headstrong and impulsive tactic like this. Just as the guilt began to set in like a weighted heat in the back of his skull, the sound of slicing steel once more shook the air around Jayden. The allegedly blinded goblin had successfully stripped the steel stars from his eyes, revealing two crimson gaping holes in its head. Jayden felt his stomach lurch a moment, steeling himself as he got to his feet. He backpedaled, taking a glimpse behind him. The sight of the two ambushers vanishing into a dark swirl of dust was a sight for sore eyes. Jayden breathed in, looking back to the last opponent. The slicing steel came within a breadth of Jayden's left arm, just narrowly colliding with Jayden's own by sheer instinctual guarding. He gritted his teeth, slicing at the blade and pushing the goblin back, but it was a ferocious little bugger. It rushed at him again, forwarding an upward slash, which Jayden deflected once more, but was then unable to find an opening again. His own horizontal cleave was easily dodged by the green sack of flesh. Jayden was becoming irritated, now circling around the goblin who, despite being completely disabled visually, was able to keep up with Jayden's own blade, likely by sound alone. So instead of using the sword, he came up with another tactic. This time, as he launched a vertical swing downwards at the goblin's head, he used the timing of the block to forward an advantage. As the crude dagger met with Smiling Jack, Jayden launched from his heels, sliding his own blade from the dagger and knocking the goblin off-balance for a fracture of a moment. Within that time, Jayden cocked his own head back, then cannoning it forward right into a headbutt at the goblin's skull, the collision of their heads creating a volatile echo of snapping and cracking. The goblin dropped to the ground, which Jayden then wasted no time plunging his blade into the still carcass, twisting it for good measure, before the mangled corpse devolved too into dust and dropping a meager soul stone. Jayden looked up, the blood from the sword plunging into the body having lightly patterned his shoulders, neck, and tunic, while the brunt of the spray got on his greaves and blade. He looked to the group, his curious crimson eyes now bearing innocent bloodlust, as blood poured from a wound on his forehead. He grinned, lightly, his eyes still wide with fervor and dangerous vigor. "... I got 'em." He laughed a little, not realizing the wound in his head had caused any damage, but only feeling the secure of his first kill course through his veins. The murderous attitude faded very quickly, as he yipped and cheered for the successful combat experience. At the very least Jayden learned something close to a lesson. Wait 'til your teammates are a bit closer before launching yourself into the fray. ... Maybe Jayden really hadn't learned all that much after all. @Soren Kalamalos @Shigure Kosaka @Choir Liore
@Jayden Heartly @Shigure Kosaka @Choir Liore Soren struggled to get his weapon ready, but by the time he did so, the battle had already been won. He blinked in surprise before lowering his weapon, expression grim. He'd been utterly, utterly useless. Weren't supporters supposed to help in some way? He should have taken his bow out of his bag along with the quiver full of arrows, but it was too late now. He sighed as he put the arrow and bow back and went over to pick up the soul stones. They were tiny and didn't seem all that interesting as he examined them. He thought that they would be radiating some kind of power. Guess he was wrong there too. The dark elf put the soul stones in his bag before glancing around at his fellow party members. Being a supporter meant he shouldn't be taking the lead roll, right? So he waited for someone to start doing something.
No moment wasted Shigure sheathed her weapon before slowly walking back to retrieve her cup of coco, only a small bit left as she sipped it calmly while returning to Jayden. Lowering her cup with a clam expression before she quickly moved her right hand to slap Jayden across the cheek, if it connected it would sting and cause a small echo as she looked up towards him. "Next time you fuck up like that, the shuriken won't be going into the goblin's eyes!" Shigure hissed with annoyance before taking the front. it was annoying to have them behind her, but she did not want the dog barking up the wrong tree again. Cup lifted to her lips for the last time to finish off her drink before yawning lightly. The cup being moved to hang from her belt as she walked. Arms stretching behind her head while she walked. She did not seem all that focused on threats, ears turning every so often at different sounds by she made no effort to warn the group. Such was proven when she overheard a group of adventures calling for help down the passage to their left. Shigure partly did not care for others, but she also heard them setting some sort of trap in the passage. yawning as she kept walking. 'Think they going to go try to help them?' "Not my concern, they die, less people to look after." Shigure mumbled to herself to reply to her voice in her head. Hades was rather clear only to kill of the goddess could gain, but Shigure would not be the one killing them or trying to in this case. But her small bit of humanity kept a ear out should they step to go down the corridor. The trap that was set was a wire trap some distance from the neck intersection of corridors. The wire tracing up the wall to a net hanging to the ceiling. Two adventures waited to either side of the tunnel for someone to fall for the trap. @Jayden Heartly | @Soren Kalamalos | @Choir Liore
Jayden Heartly Jayden blinked, as if the shock of being called out by Shigure was not totally processing with the young warrior. He tilted his head, but after a few moments, even that ended and his mouth once curved into a grin of triumph, overturned in a shameful frown. He lowered his blade, the tip lightly planting itself into the loose rocky soil of the Dungeon floor. He gulped, raising Smiling Jack just enough to sheathe before walking to catch up with the now advancing Shigure. He called out to Choir and Soren as well to get a move on, but the vigor that the young lad had come in with was beginning to diminish. Being chastised for recklessness is one thing, but having the intention to harm a fellow Adventurer, especially from one that was far stronger than you, was a terrifying thought. As they approached the end of a corridor, watching Shigure's back and tail. Mostly because the hallway was a tad bit narrow, so there wasn't much to look at going forward, save for her figure. Jayden himself, while in a state of sulking, was trying to regain his desire to go fight again. He came here to become an Adventurer, and letting himself get beat up over something as minimal as an admonishing was nothing to put yourself down over. It was true, it felt awful having the threat cross his mind again, but it was all for the sake of his own safety, right? Maybe. Maybe not. Jayden didn't spend too much time thinking of it, as the vague echoing of "help" ran down the hallway of the Dungeon. Jayden stopped, the steel of his boots crushing the rocky earth under them, his eyes peering down the hallway. It was incredibly dark, even for him. He bit his lip, taking a step in the direction of the call, but noticed that Shigure was still walking away a brief distance from him. He grimaced, calling out to her and the rest of the group. "Shouldn't we, you know, go help them? I mean, we can't just let them die, right?" Jayden hated Shigure's comment. That isn't how you treat humankind, or any kind to be realistic. Even Jayden had hatred in his heart, but none for those who had done him no wrong. He unsheathed his sword preemptively, awaiting the approval of the rest of the group before responding to the call. Haste got him in immense trouble last time, and while his patience was once more wearing thin for adventure, his wits were at least sharped enough by that goblin ambush to keep his heart stilled for the moment.
@Jayden Heartly @Shigure Kosaka @Choir Liore Soren heard the call too as they went deeper into the Dungeon. He blinked in surprise for a moment as he tried to pinpoint where the noise was coming from. "I dunno, maybe we should help them," he said as he tried to turn his head to where the noise was coming from, "You guys have better hearing than me, where do you think the call is coming from?" He couldn't help but bite his lip as the call continued. There was a nagging feeling in him, like there wasn't all to that call for help than just a cry for help. The person didn't sound like they were panicking, that was the thing. Rather, they were just shouting at the top of their lungs, or something, he didn't know. He shook his head. It was highly likely that the group of adventurers needed help and should head towards them. He wanted to believe it, deep down.
No moment wasted _____Shigure slowed her pace to a stop before turning back around to face the group. She looked annoyed with them, humanity did not need saving. "They failed to account for the danger of the dungeon enough. Their death is just for that mistake." Slowly walking back to the intersection that aliened with the group calling for help she leaned her back against the corner of one of the paths watching the group, her tail flicking with annoyance. _____"If you wish to risk your own lives to save another be my guest. About time I got to watch light fade from something's eyes. Do make sure to not die quickly if IT IS a trap." Shigure tried to point slowly to the wire when she gave depth to the hint it was a trap. her voice was low to avoid the two people waiting the ability to hear her easily as another call for help called out. Shigure only raised a hand ot her mouth to cover up a light yawn. @Jayden Heartly | @Soren Kalamalos | @Choir Liore
Jayden Heartly Jayden felt himself physically wade back and forth through a swamp of emotional integrity, combined with an overhead torrential downpour of anxious desire. Right now, what he wanted more than anything was to prove to his fellow group mates that even he could make mistakes but still persevere. His credibility as a useful member of the group was rather burned at the moment, and it made him second guess whether or not this decision was clearly thought through. He glanced to Soren, opening his mouth to respond before a crude comment from Shigure intercepted him. Those words sent the young boy over a rather ragged-run line. "Death is the result of their mistake? Who declared you some self-righteous justicar, eh?" Jayden raised a fist to his chest, the dried blood lightly caked over his nose and forehead, some slight droplets now also wading in on his cheeks from the earlier dealings with the goblins. Regardless of the cry, who called for them, why they called, or what the danger they are in, Jayden could not let the guilt consume his very being like this. Heroism aside, people could very well be facing life or death at this very moment, and there was somebody that could help them right now. "Fine. If you're so hellbent on watching something die, let's go take care of whatever it is that's antagonizing them. If I'm wrong, tell me about it after the fact." Jayden put himself in their shoes, and started running in them. He didn't dare run so far ahead that the group couldn't keep an eye on him, but his indistinguishable sense of blind empathy kept his feet moving in the direction of the cries. Before he left, he gave Soren a nod as if signaling to follow if he wished. While he felt obligated to help these people, Shigure had convinced herself they were falling into a trap and should she be correct on that notion, Jayden would want nothing to befall his companions for his own shoddy and reactionary choices. But regardless, he ran, and he ran down the hall. His eyes checked his three and his nine, always keeping eyes glued to the walls, his sword unsheathed as his coat flew from his shoulders and waved in the wind back to the group like a sail without it's ship. Jayden peered his eyes as he neared where he believed the voices that Shigure pointed out seemed to be calling from. @Shigure Kosaka @Choir Liore @Soren Kalamalos
@Jayden Heartly @Shigure Kosaka @Choir Liore Soren simply nodded as Jayden went on ahead of him. He turned to look at Shigure who was intent on not taking part with a frown before following after the Chienthrope boy. Like him, it didn't sit well to leave people to die if they needed help. Still, though, he couldn't shake the bad feeling he got from it all. He followed after the boy, sometimes glancing back to see if the other two with them were following. He frowned when he realized he didn't see Choir, but shrugged it off. Maybe he was sick of being in this party, maybe he decided to go alone. He wasn't sure but he hoped and prayed he was alright. The sound of the call became louder and louder as they drew near.
