Unstable Knight Melody had been attending her own business in the slums when it all went down. Her sleeves rusting in the wind for a few moments before she straitened them while looking at the knight before her. "If I could kindly ask you to stop this unstable carnage and go get help it would be in the best interest for all of us." Her voice was cold as ice as nebula green eyes glowed in the setting sunlight peeking over the slum buildings. Her suit was already fairly dirty causing her to be rather angry at the knight for causing it. Legs shifting as she evaded backwards as the knight slammed his sword at her previous location. Melody watched his actions, the dilation of his eyes, the slight bits of foam emerging from his sealed lips, the slight trembling of his arms as he picked his weapon back up glaring at her. Clearly he was not himself, or had something that did not agree with his digestive system. Hands rising as Melody began to pull each finger of her glove up slightly before she looked at the knight with rage. Anyone around her could see the cut into the suit top, and the gray dress shirt below it. "Now this is personal sir knight. Do not regret destroying my property. I don't forgive sinners easily." Teeth pressing the tips of her gloves before she moved her hands to the sides with a bit of dramatic sense to them revealing her skin and fingernails. Mouth opening as the gloves fell to the ground and she waved her left hand to challenge the knight to attack her. "So ... Soup ... The Soup!" His voice seemed slurred causing Melody's eye to twitch as she had to back step again to avoid the crashing of the knight's blade. She knew she was not going to have a advantage, but she could not simply let this knight destroy any more of the slums as he tried to escape custody. @Melody Bellwood | @Choir Liore | @Kessler Cole Actions Action I: Melody attempts to talk the knight down, 'Servant's agility' triggering. Action II: Melody narrowly avoids downward slash, coat getting cut in process. Action III: Melody removes gloves like a boss, and hears the ranting 'So ... Soup ... the soup' Action IV: Melody narrowly dodges second downward strike, a second cut in her coat.
Apparently, he needed to meet the 'Guild Advisors' if he wanted to actually go down to the Dungeon and start earning money. No matter how it was approached, that was the first step - otherwise, he could start and get no money. Wouldn't that just defeat the purpose of everything? Ah well. His back still itched - because this whole... 'falna' thing was weird. Honestly, it was likely just phantom pangs. He'd agreed to join Skadi's familia because... well, he needed the power to go into the Dungeon, and what was more - she was alone. She was stuck until she got some sort of help, and... well, even though she was a Goddess, he wanted to help people as best he could. He refused to look down on others just because they were different or poor. He needed to make a name for himself to start down that path. Using his parent's money to try and point out that discrepancy was just hypocrisy in the maximum. For now, though, he was going to go speak to the Guild. Or at least, that had been the plan, until he heard the sound of a weapon striking the ground. It was a very unmistakeable noise. Loud. People moving away from others. He wrinkled his nose at that. Who was fighting? Why were they doing it in the middle of streets? Glancing around, he turned the corner - heading towards the people who were fighting. One was clearly a knight - who looked like he might be maddened, honestly. The other person? She seemed to be a... professional of some sort. She reminded him of the butlers he was used to, back at home. But alas, the other guy was fairly... huge. And armed. Letting out a quiet sigh, he slipped the bow off his shoulder. Murmuring, quietly, he drew the string back. "Give power to my hands." His words were a whisper - barely audible. The energy of the air surrounded his fingertips, taking the form of a nocked arrow. He was rather certain of himself - of the two, the madman was likely the one causing trouble. If he was wrong, he'd likely be paying for it later - whether he wanted to or not. He took a moment to aim his shot, before releasing the string with a slight twang. The arrow whispered through the air to knife toward the Knight's weapon hand. While the crazed absolutely deserved to be treated with dignity, this was different. He was a threat to himself and others, and he needed to be stopped sooner rather than later. If he could try and disarm him, the situation would be that much closer to a resolution. Already, he was trying to determine what the best course of action would be. He was already drawing a new arrow from his quiver, the other one depleted once it struck either the man - or a building, should he miss. __________ Action I: Conjuring an arrow of Air Action II: Firing the arrow at the knight's weapon hand ( +2 ranks to Crit chance due to Hide and Seek ) Action III: Readying new arrow. @Melody Bellwood / @Kessler Cole
Kessler had been going about his patrol as usual, supporting people as they needed, keeping an eye on the town. His job as a member of the city's watch was a noble pursuit he constantly find himself thinking with every situation he ended up having to involve himself in. It was particularly so when he could see kind people praising him or offering him gifts, just being in their memory was the best feeling he could ask for, but the addition of walking away with a small handful of bread was a nice touch. The woman who handed it to him had remembered him for a while now that he had a reputation worth remembering. Though he didn't find himself to be the strongest rookie adventurer, that didn't stop other people from saying so. Just as he was finishing up his last bite of bread, he heard the sound of the blade, it was subtle enough for one of the ears on the top of his head to flip up just to be certain but after a twitch of it, he couldn't help sighing knowing he wasn't wrong. The sound of a blade striking cobblestone was quite clear after all, it made him grimace slightly, but after the faint pause, he ran towards the source with a heavy sigh knowing that today would be trouble. Upon arriving, seeing the man shooting arrows at the armored man's weapon hand, Kessler's mind was already racing with thoughts. "That arrow won't penetrate-- Everyone's in over their head." He couldn't help a faintly weary expression, at just a glance Kessler knew the man's equipment was on par with his own, the man had a sword though that was of a higher quality, Kessler was only fortunate that he didn't have to confront that weapon since he himself didn't use one to clash with. "Calm yourself sir, I'm with the city watch." Kessler spoke with a loud voice, though his meek demeanor was clear from the fragility in his action that made his attempts at being loud awkward. His hand touched the pin at his lapel that labeled him as such, but whether or not he'd actually be calmed by a person who worked for the city was another story. "What's your grievance with these people? Why cause these problems? We need answers at least to settle this." He tried to settle things peacefully at first, just him being a member of the watch was sometimes enough to stop some encounters. He didn't get his hopes up though, his gaze narrowing with concern expecting another blow from the man. If that was the case, Kessler would have to endeavor to bring the man down with the help of the few close by. Even if Kessler was heralded as a rookie talent, he wasn't able to keep up with legitimate veterans yet. "If you don't comply, I'll be forced to intervene, Please consider it." He asserted with a measure of hope, but his heart was pessimistic since things had already come to throwing blows.
Unstable Knight Melody had no time to worry about the archer or the one claiming to be part of the city watch. She had to focus everything on the knight before her to stay alive, and because he had pissed her off she was not going to focus on others for some time. "Clearly he does not want to talk about anything but soup right now." Melody relayed what she had heard to the two new arrivals as she rolled to the right as the blade swung from the left side of her. Pushing herself up and going back a few feet until she met a wall. "It is bad enough you destroyed my suit, but to strike it twice and leave a two centimeter difference in the cuts is unforgiveable sir knight!" Melody dashed forward, Her figure bobbing downward and left under the knight's swing before she slammed her palms to his chest staggering him slightly. Not wishing to risk it Melody did her best to get back before she felt the air rush out of her lungs, the knight's right fist slamming into her gut and sending her backwards towards Kessler as she tried to catch her breath. Right hand's knuckles slammed the ground as Melody struggled to her feet. "A butler of the Felding family does not go down from a single blow..." A comment spoken if either of the men tried to offer Melody a hand as she got back to her feet holding her stomach with her left hand while her right hand adjusted her tie. "The knight is under the effect of something, Im not sure what but eyes don't get that dilated normally." Melody's insight having been close to the knight was all she could offer as she stagger to stay standing while she breathed heavily. But if they focused on Melody to long the knight would begin to try and make a run for it. His speed was slow to start but he would slowly pick up the pace before Melody would have the air in her to comment. "He's making a run for it..." A low tone growl escaping her lips as she tried to pursue the target. She had to make sure he paid for her outfit, and got the help he needed. Regardless The group was in for a long fight, with little chance to win it seemed. @Melody Bellwood | @Choir Liore | @Kessler Cole Actions Action I: Melody evades leftward slash with tumble right. Action II: Melody moved to have her back against the wall. Action III: Melody rushed forward bobbing left under incoming attack before landing a weak push back. Action IV: Melody gets the wind hit of her and sent back a good distance.
Dismay was written on his face – his magic arrow mostly hit the hand, knocked it slightly sideways, before the energy-based projectile shattered out of existence. Brilliant. His armor was apparently far stronger than Choir had given it credit for. From his position, he could see the third person join in the fray – though he seemed less eager to fight than the Knight himself. Letting out a slight breath, he tsk’d, and reached behind him, drawing an arrow from his quiver. Whether or not he could pierce that armor was completely irrelevant – armor itself always had weak points. The joints had to have openings with which to turn and move, otherwise they would be unable to avoid some blows, as well as soaking them. He’d just need to focus on those, while the others tried to wrangle the Knight into submission. Choir did wince from his covered position, however, when the blond Butler-woman took a hit that looked really heavy. Yet another punctuated reason on why he was not interested in fighting in closed quarters if he could help it. But rather than press the attack, the wild-eyed Knight started to turn. That provided him with opportunities – he drew back the string, and launched the arrow, aiming for the back of his knee where there would be some form of opening. Even if it were covered with chain mail, that wouldn’t do much to protect from the impact of an arrow. He wasn’t going to bring the knight down on his own – his best bet was just to harry the man. And harry he could do. Another arrow to the opposite leg, meant to do little more than cause the knight to stumble – making it hard for him to run away while trying not to get gimped in the process. The question, though, was whether or not the three of them could stop someone like this. He didn’t know – how could he? But they could try, and that was what was important. What they needed was the attention of other knights – more guardsmen. Clicking his tongue, he considered how to get that. @Melody Bellwood @Kessler Cole
Seeing the knight breaking off into a run, Kessler could only sigh, specially when the girl was blasted back. Offering the butler a hand up without hesitating, he helped her up even if his armored hands might not be the best for supporting someone else. Instead, Kessler's gaze slowly narrowed into slits as the Knight remained aggressive, his war tiger traits coming out, the Hybrid's cheeks grew stained with the markings of the cat race and his fuzzy ears suddenly stood up to get a better sense of his surroundings. It was at times like this that malevolence billowed off of Kessler's delicate and meek frame. It was a murderous intent thick enough to cut with a knife and a savage hate that was strong enough to feel even without seeing. Unfortunately this was merely a side effect of Kessler trying to use his skills that might be valuable in the fight. "Keep on his knees and shoulders-- take a shot whenever he's winding up to take a shot." Kessler offered advice to the archer, knowing that even if the man couldn't aim for those narrow gaps in the armor, just diverting the force of his swings would be a great help when the fighting started again. With the knight stumbling from the blows to the knees though, Kessler didn't want him to have a chance to breath as he began closing the gap with a swift run. His Agility wasn't too far from the knight's reinforced level 2 agility even let alone however fast he might be while his legs were being targeted. As he closed the gap, Kessler swung an arm towards the ground, his Tyrant's Fists clawing up a collection of stones and mud that he crushed down in his grip. The sound of metal groaning from the force applied to compress it wasn't unusual for the Adventurer as he stopped his run just long enough to plant his foot suddenly. Using the force of his run, he let that sudden stop shoot up his arm to add more speed to a throw as he fired that muddy stone like a bullet towards the knight's back to keep him down. Using that chance to try and increase his pace once more, Kessler tried to close the gap further to cut off the man's escape route holding his arms up with a weary smile. "Under the influence of something isn't an excuse--" He started only to see the man winding up to swing at him. Kessler only flashed a meek smile, knowing that words probably weren't going to help, but he couldn't simply stop if there was a hope the man might come back to his senses from hearing someone talking to him. The swing though made Kessler react swiftly, his widened stance narrowing as he thrust his body forward into the swing grabbing onto the man's arms and being struck by the hilt rather then the blade. It was painful, undoubtedly painful, but Kessler gripped the man's arms tightly trying not to get thrown back like the butler had. His arms wrapped around the man's he tried using his body to slowly but surely make it harder for the knight to act as he pleased.
Unstable Knight Melody was not going to be much help in her current state. Taking the moment to catch her breath and relax. She was the first on scene so she had to go back over what had happen since she arrived. She wa in the area to help deliver some food to a group of farms that lived outside the city and was just passing through the area. She had just finished the delivery when the sound of a sword crashing drew her attention. When she arrived that was right about the time everyone else started to show up, be it a strike after her arrival. To be honest she was not going to be much help with trying to find out the root to the knight's sudden rampage. But that would not stop the butler from trying her best to help the knight return to his senses. Clasping her hands together before she moved to help out finally. She was not strong, nor was she all that fast to be honest. But, those where her strengths so she was going to do what she could with them. Reaching the knight and the war tiger before she moved to the side of the conflict away from the sword. 'here goes nothing...' Melody thought to herself as she built up all her strength into her right palm. Pulling the hand back as she held the knight's arm with her left before slamming the palm to his elbow. A rather unhealthy cracking sound filled the air as she reeled her hand back revealing a crack in his arm, but her palm fractured in a few places as a result. Jumping back as she held her right hand growling at herself. Even with everything she had it was not enough to break his arm under the armor, only break her own hand for trying. Waving her right wrist a bit to try and shake off the pain as she winced with pain. 'Not to self don't try that again.' @Melody Bellwood | @Choir Liore | @Kessler Cole Actions Action I: Takes a moment to rest and think back. Action II: Gives chase to meet the group. Action III: Tries to break the knight's arm, fractures her palm instead. Action IV: Regrets her choice of action. But cracks elbow armor slightly.
