Same as Always

Discussion in 'Entertainment Quarters' started by Korra Quinn, Oct 11, 2016.

  1. Korra smiled brightly nodding back. "It's true, without dangers and risks, this would just be a mine for monster stones after all, there would be no troubles at all." She said with a shrug knowing that it was something that was a necessary evil at this point, people would keep dying and suffering from it, but it kept the country strong. It was because of that Orarios wasn't already being overrun by foreign territories and the like after all, fighting through all of the veteran adventurers would be far too stressful and hard.

Though when she talked about seeing why supporters got less, and why she didn't care, Korra chuckled softly nodding back in understanding. "Okay okay~" She said still touching the girl's ears since Marzipan didn't say anything about not liking it. If the girl didn't stop her, Korra would end up playing with them all the way up to the surface before stopping at the very top of the stairs with a small content smile knowing that giving Marzipan some time to rest after the playful petting session was a kind thing to do since it was perhaps rude to pet her so persistently just because she might be allowed to if she was. "All better?" She asked, having Kirin carry them out when Marzipan was ready to continue so they could divide the take.

The entire trip back up to the surface, Marzipan had her ears played with. Unfortunately for her, she welcomed it because it just felt so nice. She had a hard time saying no to that. Even if she did, would the girl have carried on anyway? She didn't know but the comfortable feeling was making her wish she said no. Maybe later she'll complain about it. Maybe.

She sighed when they finally reached the surface. And the petting finally stopped, which she was thankful for. It was a breach of personal space that felt nice, but she'll let it slide this time. "Yeah, thanks again. Should we head over to guild headquarters and cash in these stones before we divide it amongst ourselves?" she asked, ears twitching.

  3. Korra only smiled back kindly, trying to give Marzipan one last pet since her ears seemed to be asking for more attention before shaking her head and sliding off of Kirin's back. "That does depend dear, we can either divide the stones up and go our separate ways, or if you want me to come with you to the guild, we can just divide our earnings mm?" She offered with a warm grin.

Though Marzipan seemed to be conflicted with the soft petting, Korra naturally wouldn't let the girl escape something like that, instead, she'd wait for Marzipan to climb down to before leaning in close. Trying to whisper directly into Marzipan's ears, close enough for the girl to maybe feel the moistness of her lips and the warmth of her breath against her soft ears as she murmured sweet words into them. "And-- I'll be sure to pet you well on our next date too, so don't worry~" She teased with a coy giggle trying to skip forward to the surface, seeing the fountain outside. She even lifted a hand to block out the sun knowing it would hurt her eyes after being underground. Kirin naturally followed her but she tried to leave Marzi adorably dazed from the offer.

"Eeeh, I think it would be better if we go to the guild first and divide the money there," Marzipan said as she got down, "That way we can make sure that the split is even. Well, as even as 60-40 can get." She didn't want to cheat the supporter out of her money, after all. She had no idea how much the stones were worth, but it was better to make sure, just in case.

Her ears twitched as the young woman bent down to whisper something in her ear. Her face heated up in embarrassment. "H-Hey!" she exclaimed, looking flustered as she backed away a little, "I don't need the pets, thank you very much!" Pause. "And we're not dating!" She wasn't sure how Korra would take her blushing. Hopefully nothing too bad.

  5. Korra only stuck her tongue out at Marzipan's retort, a mellow smile on her face even as she teased the Hume Bunny with a pirouette before turning back to skip a few steps away as her gait relaxed into a normal walk. "Need isn't the same as want dear~ And not yet we aren't~" She said with a sweet giggle waving her hand through the air over head happily as if neither of those things were an issue for Korra. They most certainly weren't things that would bother her either, as far as she was concerned Marzipan's reactions only solidified her feeling of 'not yet' but not 'no'.

Walking with Marzipan no doubt following behind and Kirin following along with her, they'd approve a very large business-like building, the large tower was one Marzipan would have probably been able to see from anywhere in the city as it hung up over everything. Though it was damaged here and there from an earlier fiasco it was still in plenty enough working order for registrations and quest takings. Korra stopped, turning back to catch Marzipan's hand to pull her into the building with a mellow chuckle. "We'll have to split up for a bit, you're going to go that way and talk to the front desk about becoming an adventurer with the Guild." She said trying to take a few magic stones out of Kirin's bag to put them into Marzipan's soft hands as she explained. "You'll need a bit to register since they'll be doing the paperwork, you have to pay a bit to get out of doing the boring stuff." She admitted before pointing towards a covered desk that had a door at the top to prevent people from attacking the person behind it.

It looked a little bizarre maybe but there were daily perhaps even hourly occurrences of adventurers trying to force their way in believing they were short changed or deserved more money for their work. "I'll be over here-- So be a good girl for me and don't get impatient okay?" She teased trying to give Marzipan's backside a gentle pat to send her on her way before approaching her own desk. There were some pleasantries clearly Korra was naturally well known in the guild, it wasn't abnormal for her to attract the attention of others and others to whisper about her adventures. Though there was an occasional scowl shot towards Marzipan who benefited from Korra's help, there was no doubt a lot of gossip wondering where Korra's usual adventurer companion was.

Marzipan felt like she made a mistake in not speaking up sooner about the petting. She was probably going to do that until the end of time, wasn't she? She mentally groaned at the thought, wanting to bury her head into her hands. Gods above she was so embarrassed, but the girl just seemed so earnest that she couldn't help but not say anything about it. Letting out a huff of breath, she began to follow Korra to Guild headquarters.

The building itself was gigantic and she paused to stare at the exterior. The interior was busy with adventurers and other people that seemed to be talking to them. Was this truly the place where she could officially become an adventurer? She didn't know. Next thing she knew, she was given a gentle shove towards one of the desks. Rubbing the spot where she was shoved, she took a deep breath and headed towards the front desk.

"Hey. I'd like to register as an adventurer," she said bluntly. The person at the front desk nodded and told her to wait a moment for someone to come and get her. The Hume Bunny did as she was told, shuffling a little every now and then. Then a man appeared with the person from the front desk.

"He'll be here to help," the woman said as she directed them to a room. The Hume Bunny nodded and followed after the man, making small talk with him. Once they settled down, they got down to business about the registration. She couldn't help but groan mentally at the paperwork she had to do, but what else was she going to do? Cry about it? Heck no!

The two of them sat together for some time, talking about the rules and regulations amongst other things. She paid attention to every single one of them, knowing that listening would help her in the long run rather than rushing. It seemed to take forever, but the work was finally done and she scurried out of the room, heaving a sigh of relief. "I am so glad I never have to do that again," she muttered as she went to the area at the front of the building. She began looking around for Korra, turning her head and swiveling her ears to find her.

  7. Korra spent her time at the counter making the deal as usual. Naturally bargaining was difficult, there was very little negotiation allowed for the price, there was a very firm market price that was required to be set for a variety of reasons. Occasionally Korra could wiggle a few coins extra though as a small bonus, but it never adjusted the rate, it was just a matter of how much extra she could wiggle out for being faintly memorable at the guild hall. Though Korra wasn't absolutely famous, she was notable enough for people to find being on good terms with her beneficial. At times like this the extra bits was always nice.

She spent time socializing with others, the time Marzipan was gone was long enough for Korra to have another red hand print on her cheek, but when she saw the Hume bunny looking for her, Korra felt a little mischief might be forgiven. Trying to approach the girl from behind, she'd reach up to drape herself over her shoulders, the awkward closeness of no personal space would no doubt be a problem but she tried to rest her hands on Marzipan's hair. Gently fluffing her ears and trying to mess her hair gently with ruffling fingers, she happy praised with a loud tone. "Congratulations!"

The reason was probably obvious, even though it was a playful and maybe overly familiar gesture, this was no doubt a momentous occasion foreigners might not understand. It was practically a coming of age ritual like registering for the army or getting a driver's licence might be. It was a milestone down someone's life that Korra got to be there for someone else for. "Now then, this portion is your's." She said offering Marzipan a small pouch of coins with a bright grin.

It didn't take long for Marzipan to find Korra. Or rather, Korra finding her. She yelped as she sneaked over to her and got her into a happy grip. "Hey, what the-?!" She tried to shake off the person hugging her, her attempts unsuccessful. She let out a small huff as she let the other play with her ears again, fluffing them and her hair up.

She tried to turn her head to look at Korra, but was met with a pouch instead. "Ah, thanks," she said as she took the bag of valis. "...You can let go of me now, you know." She hoped that the girl would listen to her request as she pocketed the small bag. Once she managed to get out of her grasp, she crossed her arms and stared at her. "I guess we part ways here? Either way, I hope you take it easy."

  9. Korra chuckled, Marzipan's reaction to having her head petted was always so cute, it was difficult to resist continuing. Though after she was shaken off and offered the pouch she didn't go back in for more. Instead, she turned to Kirin casually tossing the bag into the horse's saddle bag as if it were worthless. After all, coin wasn't something Korra really needed or even liked. It was just a means to an end for the bard who enjoyed freedom and happiness more then anything else.

Though Marzipan talking about parting ways, Korra flashed a wide grin at her. "Oh? If you're still lonely I wouldn't mind walking you home dear--" She started, but her tone grew playfully coy as she slid up onto Kirin's back contently. "--It's still only the first date though, so I'm afraid I'll have to leave at the door no matter how much you beg me to stay though~" She teased, knowing that clearly Marzipan wouldn't do those things, it didn't stop her from playfully pretending like she might though

  10. @Korra Quinn

Marzipan blinked at Korra as she offered to lead her to her home. She scratched the back of her head, not knowing how to respond to that. Should she let her? Really, it would be nice to have a companion lead her back to the inn she stayed at, but she could walk on her own. It's not like she was in danger or anything so she didn't need the escort.

"No thanks, I'm good," she said after some thinking, "I find my way home on my own." She paused before adding, "And we are not dating." With that, she began to move past Korra and Kirin, waving goodbye to them. "Take it easy, okay?" she asked, knowing she said that earlier. But this was now a proper goodbye and so she left the Guild, proud of her achievement of going into the Dungeon the first time.

  11. Korra chuckled a little at Marzipan's reaction, though a little disappointment, things couldn't work out absolutely perfect every time right? Instead, she only nodded along, not bothered, as if expecting such a reaction before patting Kirin with a gentle hum to get her partner moving along the right path as she mused about the day she'd just had with Marzipan.

"Alright then dear, if you're certain. Until our second date then~" She teased, as if not hearing Marzipan's persistant reminders, playfully continuing on with that little joke as if it were the most amusing for her. Though being told to take it easy, a mellow chuckle came from Korra's lips as she lifted her arm over head to wave to her. "Is there any other way to take things?" She asked with a bright and sweet grin happily turning away to head outside from the guild hall. She looked down at Kirin giving him a few mellow pats as she considered where to settle down for the day to look for more cuties.
