Cart Pushing (Easy Quest)

Discussion in 'Trade Quarters' started by Marzipan Loaf, Oct 12, 2016.

  1. Lilian really disliked the method Miss Marzipan was using. It was very unheroic and a poor example of being the better person. Lilian just had to say something as Miss Lavian headed off on her own. The heroine was starting to pick up on the fact that the cat woman preferred to work alone.

"MIss Marzipan, I think you are being overly harsh. Someone is less likely to change their ways if even after defeat they are mistreated. I understand the situation but I think the man can learn from our example."

The girl of justice preached as they walked. She looked at the bandit and saw him turn back and grin at her with his missing teeth. Maybe this way was better 'shiver'. Lilian turned her head away from him quickly.

"I hope the caravan goods are safe."

She said to change the topic.

Marzipan's eyes flickered to Lilian for a moment before going back to the bandit before her. "Still, better be prepared if he tries to start something, right?" She said, deciding not to shake her head at the girl. That girl...she was too idealistic. Honestly, who thought people could change their ways that easily? It was unbelievable and she wondered why she let the girl come with them.

She heaved a sigh as she poked her sword at the bandit in front of her. "I'm guessing the caravan is not far away? You better not be pulling anything." The man just smirked and laughed, causing her to grit her teeth. She hoped he wouldn't lead them to a place that wasn't the caravan and then pull something from there. She didn't say that out loud, though, for it might give the man ideas.

The group walked for some time until she spotted a caravan in the distance. "Heh, good," she said. As they neared it, the people who were milling about around the caravan immediately jumped to their feet.

"Are you here to help us?" One of them asked.

"Yeah-" The bandit whirled around, trying to get his weapon out. She immediately gave a hard jab, causing him to cry out and blood to spew forth. "Okay, anyone got any rope? These five men here are bandits and we need them tied up so they won't pull anything." One of the people of the caravan turned to a young boy, who immediately scurried to the side of the wagon. A short while later, he came back with some rope. "Thanks. We'll keep an eye on them if they try to pull something." The people of the caravan immediately got to work as they tied up the bandits, making sure to take away their weapons. She dropped the quiver she'd been holding the entire time and sighed. Well, looks like their job was nearly done.

  3. So everything seemed peachy, which... well... seemed unusual to the huntress. Often when things like this went wrong, they did so horribly. But Lavian was a naturally suspicious person. Still, she had a course of action, she would act on it. Stay in the shadows, stay out of sight - and hopefully out of mind. She sighed, bending on one knee as she lowered her spear-bearing arm close to ground level. Really, if nothing was going to happen she might just be tempted to leave here and now. Even with the promise of coin to be had.

Really, that hero-girl was a piece of work. How did she survive in life being that naive? She would've been dead already if she were raised on the streets. Actually, on that note, did she actually ever deal with adversity in the past? Her world view was so... narrow and slanted that Lavian couldn't believe anyone could be that way unless there were external forces acting to create an environment that would promote her to develop that mindset.

Either way, she was letting this affect her too much. She had a job and Marzipan's safety was paramount about the would-be-hero's. She needed to keep her eyes peeled for threats and any new interlopers so she could foil any potential ambush.

  4. Lilian flinched as the bunny girl stabbed the bandit. This was so against her code. There were other ways to make a enemy cooperate. Such as giving them the promise of a shorter prison sentence. The young girl believed that even these kinds of men had some degree of common sense. Only the truly evil and terribly inhumane warranted more extreme measures. They were just thieves.

The heroine made her way to the caravan and made that her focus. Taking a moment to figure out how they all were doing. She turned and placed her fists on her hips. She spoke to Miss Marzipan and Miss Lavian with a accomplished look.

"I will stay and escort these citizens. Will you accompany me or move on ahead and let the merchant know we have successfully found and protected the caravan?"

  5. @Lavian @Lilian Felding

Marzipan watched the people tie up the grumbling bandits coldly. It was better this way, she told herself. After all, who knows what other kinds of things they would get into? If they were allowed to roam free, then they would cause even more trouble to other caravans and nobody would be none the wiser.

She looked over at Lilian. "Someone's gotta bring these guys to the constable," she said, looking at the now tied up bandits, "I'm guessing we're moving them with the caravan?" There was some cries of protests to that. "Hey, it'd be better to travel in a group and keep an eye on them that way if they try to pull something. We can split up when we reach your destination." Some more grumbling made itself known before the leader of the caravan nodded.

"Very well. Show us the way," he said, causing Marzipan to nod.

"Will do!" And the team set off, bringing along the captured bandits with them.

  6. While her lack of faith in people in general was something that crippled her ability to actually enjoy the company of people, sometimes it paid off. From her position perched on top of a ruined building she could see them coming. A group of two six-man teams coming in from either side. There was a barricade in the distance, in case the caravan made any attempt to break through. Rubbing the back of her nape, the huntress shifted the shaft of her weapon in her hand and stepped out of the shadows into the light.

Placing a pair of fingers between her lips she blew hard and loud to catch the attention of the merchants on the caravan. Marzipan would likely hear her clearly, given her prodigious ears. "Barricade up front. Turn right at the next right-hand corner, do not go straight!" she shouted with her hands cupped around her mouth. "Do not stop or you'll get pinned." with that said, Lavian quickly set about going into motion. Fortunately, she wasn't fighting with gravity so it was all downhill from here.

She'd be able to go through the cityscape using a series of parkour-like movements to come up beside the Hume-bunny, spear in hand. "Twelve people, two groups of six men. They're not well armed but I'd rather keep them all coming from the same direction than flanking us." she looked at Lilian, her expression stern. "Can you keep the caravan moving towards the city proper, they wouldn't chase you once you're that far in. You're trying to be a hero aren't you, then stick with the caravan. Keep the people from being harmed, I'll draw some of them to me or delay them."

"Don't worry about leaving me behind, I'm good at running away. We can regroup back at the market."

  7. @Lavian

Marzipan nodded as she turned to the members of the caravan. "You heard the lady, let's move!" They nodded and began to move in the direction Lavian pointed out. The Hume Bunny stayed in the back along with several others, in order to keep an eye on the bandits that were tied up. "Hey, along the way, can we drop these guys off so they can get what's coming to them?" she asked, yelling slightly. One of the caravanners nodded and walked faster, intent on telling those at the front about that request.

The trip took a while, but they finally managed to get going when they found themselves in familiar territory. Marzipan sighed in relief, glad to know that it was over and done with. They began to make their way into the thicker parts of Orario City. Along the way, they dropped the bandits off at the police station and then made their way to the trading district. Once they arrived, the Hume Bunny began looking around for her fellow familia member.
