Korra smiled back to Parvati who was drawn by the song, she flashed a content smile, letting others listen to her song was a joy, but this one in particular was one she was happy to play for others. With a soft smile, she snuggled into the girl a bit deeper. "You like it? It doesn't have lyrics but it was the song that helped me meet Kirin as a kid. I've been trying to find words for it for a long time though." She explained with a warm and happy expression. Parvati's response made Korra's eyes shine brightly though, for a moment she hesitated before finally speaking in a small voice. "There's no reason it can't be right? No matter how hard or how rough a day might be, having something to come home to, someone to sleep next to-- That's what makes life so great like this right?" She asked before glancing up to Parvati wondering if she'd feel the same way.
@Korra Quinn Parvati snapped out of her music induced stupor at the question and nodded. "I do like it," she answered, "It is very unique." She blinked a bit when she mentioned that song was what helped her meet Kirin. "Ah, so that is the song to call the Kirin?" she asked, "It is a very good song, very strong." She didn't know how else to describe it. "Mm, I guess so. I have never went through much of coming home to something good for me, nor did I have someone to come home to that I like." She frowned as she tried to remember if there was a time she experienced it. After some time, she found nothing. She sighed. "But perhaps that can change, story singer. I just need to wait for it."
Korra nodded back to Parvati, clearly delighted with a sweet and bright smile. "That's right! It was the song that originally called out to him. Though now I use it to reach out to him whenever he's racing through the clouds somewhere." She explained, it was this song that acted as her incantation for summoning him these days after all. Though it lacked words it was still the song that moved her Draconian steed. Though when she heard about Parvati's life though, Korra began to frown, such a thing was unreasonable, unforgivable even. Having a warm and happy place to go back to was naturally an important part of life, specially for Korra, but even normal people would be able to understand that. Hearing her talking about needint to wait, and even hearing the woman's heavy sigh, Korra only tilted her head back, flashing a coy grin at Parvati's words. "Why wait? Do I not count as 'someone'?" She asked slowly cocking her head sweetly.
@Korra Quinn Parvati couldn't help but smile as Korra asked her question. "Ah, you do count," she said, "And perhaps if I got to know you better, than it would lead to happiness. I do not know, though." She hummed in thought. Being around someone like her was refreshing, compared to the tense atmosphere that was always her home. It was welcoming, to say the least. The Amazoness looked at the sky to see it turning into orange and pink hues. "It is getting late," she observed, "Nearly time for sleeping, yes? Story singer, do you have anything you want to be doing this night?" She glanced over at Korra, her amber eyes blinking in curiosity over what the bard wanted to do.
Korra couldn't help a cheesy grin, a wide smile on her face as she heard the girl's answer. After all, while Korra believed there was always hope until there was apathy, it was different hearing it from the person themselves. Naturally Korra understood the importance of waiting for things that were great, but that didn't stop her from being overly anxious and eager either way. "Hehe... Everyone always likes to get to know people like that. It makes me wonder why sometimes-- Playing it by ear little by little isn't so bad is it?" She teased, but didn't expect an answer, she wasn't trying to use those words to convince Parvati to change, but instead just playfully musing about her own thoughts with a hum. Seeing the sun going down though, Korra shook her head slowly, playing a few more notes with a gentle smile as she answered. "Nothing that wouldn't be immediately turned down." She teased slowly sliding her Lute down into the bag she used for storage and equipment. The other one she used for crystals and sleeping though, she'd try to gently slip inside. It was spacious clearly, there was enough room in the bag to fit a king sized bed three ways. Like a child's tent or a bunk bed fort, it was just spacious enough to be separate but still feel the warmth from the person beside you. "Kirin." She'd call out from inside the beg causing the Horse to lazily plop it's body down against one side of the bag forming a small wall. It idly ate what it was given while Korra patted his side from in the bag content with the makeshift 'pillow' she always used. "There we go-- When the weather is warmer I'll usually just hang my head out of the end, but it's not so hot as to need a breeze now right?" She said with a curious tone wondering what Parvati thought.
@Korra Quinn Parvati cocked her head to the side. "I do not understand what you are trying to say," she admitted, looking a little lost, "But yes, people always like to meet people that make them happy, that I agree to." She flashed the girl a smile. "Perhaps, once this meeting is done, we will meet again in the future, yes?" She watched as the beast began to eat the entrails and Korra put away her lute. The teasing flew over her head, sadly, but she did like watching the girl move her body. "It is very good," she said, flashing another smile, "I see that it looks comfortable. Does it, perhaps, allow two people to rest on it?"
Hearing Parvati's confusion though, Korra gestured with a hand, it was no big deal, but if Parvati persisted, Korra would tilt her head in thought. "Ah-- I've never been one to worry about getting to know people you know? Because no matter what happens, it doesn't change anything right? If the person is trying to trick you or use you, they would just act nice until your guard is down anyway. This way, even if I get hurt a lot, I'll know the answers and reasons sooner rather then waiting and trying for a long time only to find out around the bend?" Korra answered a bit sheepish knowing that those types of serious talks weren't really for her. Someone as outgoing and natural as Korra was after all someone who was wounded an hurt at heart a lot as well. Though Parvati agreeing to meet with her again made her smile back brightly. "Of course-- If you had fun, I wouldn't mind camping out with you as a regular thing too." She said contently. Though when the girl asked about two people resting inside, Korra grinned back, trying to reach out for Parvati's hand to pull her in gently. It wasn't exactly spacious with the both of them, but if the girl didn't fight, she'd find herself side by side with Korra, hip to hip in the large adventurer's bag. The interior was dark, it did well to block out the light but with a soft sound of shaking sand or salt, a gentle glow would illuminate the interior. The source was a small bottle filled with glowing dusts that Korra gave a gentle shake. "I like to think I'm clever-- but I'm probably not the first to think up cute tricks like this." She'd say pinning the bottle to the top of the bag like a small nightlight, the reason being pure darkness with a stranger might not be comforting. While she began tying the opening closed for warmth, she'd speak with a softer tone. "How is it? Comfy? Being surrounded on all sides by soft things has always been my dream-- this makes a good stand in until that dream comes true though." She explained with a giggle.
@Korra Quinn Parvati blinked as she tried to make sense of what the bard had said. She didn't really understand all of it. The language barrier made it harder to understand what Korra was trying to say. Though her face darkened somewhat when she began talking about betrayal and the like. It fit her sisters and her, not something she would want to think about. The bad feelings went away when she was pulled towards the sleeping bag tent thing and snuggled down into it. It was warm and smelled of the sun, nothing too unpleasant. "It's nice," she commented, snuggling deeper in the thing, despite being close to Korra, She turned her head to look at the girl. She seemed to be enjoying herself and it was refreshing to see someone who was enjoying themselves.
Korra seemed confused when Parvati's face darkened, a leery chuckle coming from her lips not quite sure where she'd gone wrong. Trying her best to explain things, Korra was someone who didn't really have an emotional or spiritual guard up, both her heart and soul were strong enough to take the blows without protection so she didn't need them. That sort of thing was perhaps alien to the amazoness which made it harder to understand as well. While trying to think her way through it though, she heard her comment about the bag being nice making her a bit more relieved. "Isn't it? Sometimes before bed, I'd lay here and play for a while longer since it's so cozy. In the summer, I'd hang out from the side to watch the sky, and in the winter I'd get some coal from in town to heat the bottom and keep it warm." She said smiling, though she wouldn't go into detail about how she heated the bag with coal if Parvati didn't ask. It always involved tongs and a scale mat though to keep the bag from burning. "It gets better though--" She'd say turning towards Parvati with a warm grin, reaching out a hand, she'd try to gently push Parvati back with a gentle hand on her stomach, if the girl didn't fight it, she'd find herself laying against Kirin who was plopped down on the outside. The scaled horses sides were sturdy in combat, but had a gentle give that became softer with the bag between them. "With this kind of cold, Kirin on the outside is enough to make things warm enough right?" She explained flashing a small smile shuffling around just enough to try and rest her head at Parvati's chest once more clearly intending on sleeping that way.
@Korra Quinn Parvati would've cocked her head to the side if she wasn't laying down. "Why do you watch sky?" she asked, her face showing her confusion, "There is nothing there but sky, I do not see the appeal in sky watching." Then again, everyone was different so she assumed that perhaps the bard's laid back personality was why she watched the sky without being bored. The Amazoness moved as Korra pushed her, only to find herself against Kirin's side. She would have turned to look at him if there was enough room to move. And besides, she was comfortable in the position she was in now. "Mm, makes sense, to have Kirin warm you," she said, nodding ever so slightly as she closed her eyes. Indeed, it was nice. She wouldn't mind staying here for a little while longer. A thought crossed her mind and her eyes slowly opened. "Story singer, what of your family? Are they not missing you? Perhaps your family is better than mine, for we always fight for love and it is not pleasant." She frowned as she remembered and her face darkened once more as thoughts of her family plagued her. She tried to push those thoughts aside as she waited for Korra to answer.
Korra flashed a grin back at Parvati's question about the sky, others would no doubt agree with her, even Korra herself found staring at the sky boring in some ways. "Kirin came from the sky you know? His family is up there somewhere too, if I find more to sing to and they join me as well, won't I be stronger and more helpful?" She asked flashing a warm grin. "My power doesn't come from a place of training or magical energy after all-- It comes from fate and encounters, because of that I have to keep an eye out you know?" She explained with a wide grin knowing that the more dragons she encountered the higher her peak ability will leap to. The talk of Korra's family though made her flash a mellow smile for a moment, thinking about her parents was hard, she couldn't really remember what they looked like in truth. "My parents were poor and gentle people, they couldn't afford to live here without moving to the Slums though... So they moved away to earn money. They'd send me enough to live after leaving me with some family friends who looked after me. I couldn't just live on their coin forever though, so I make my way on my own. We kind of grew apart, but they're happy and I'm happy, that's the important part right?" She added flashing a bright grin. Korra's past after all wasn't one fraught with hardship or tragedy, there wasn't particularly anything grim about her past that would put her off. Seeing Parvati darkening though she reached back far enough to try and pat the girl's head reassuringly. "My family's pretty boring though, not something interesting you would guess with how neat Kirin is. Even if your's isn't as good, I bet you're more colorful for it." She explained with a bright grin knowing it wasn't much of a bright side but was still bright.
@Korra Quinn "Oh? Kirin is from sky?" Parvati asked, turning her head to look up at the darkening sky. She didn't think that something would be found from the sky. Maybe someone who had tossed a rock and it landed at her feet, but only that. Oh, and birds. Couldn't forget about the birds after all. She stopped craning her neck to take a look at the sky and turned her attention back to Korra. She was solemn when she heard of her family's situation. It was almost like her own, except there was no fighting, no backstabbing, nothing shady and underhanded. Still, it was a little sad to hear that from the girl who seemed so cheery most of the time. She tried to find Korra's hand to hold it, but she wasn't sure if Korra would accept the gesture. "I suppose so," she grunted as the topic went back to her family. The only one who was truly different from everyone else was her sister, Artemis. Maybe Parvati too, since she could use magic whereas her sister's could not. She let out a hum of thought. "Story singer, how do you practice one's magic?" she asked, "I am training for it, though it is hard to do."
Korra nodded back with a sweet chuckle, Kirin did indeed come from the sky after all, but he was the only dragon she'd found thus far. "That's right~ Kirin lives in the clouds and runs through the skies. I've never seen it, but I always imagine a big herd of him and his family running about up there sometimes." She explained her childish thought, her imagination was quite apt at coming up with fun stories like that after all, but she'd never seen Kirin take off into the sky or run with others. Whether or not the legends were true she wasn't sure. Feeling her hand being held though, Korra gently gave Parvati's hand a soft squeeze, the warm supple touch of her hand gripping Parvati's back kindly and reassuringly. If nothing else, Korra made for a good shoulder to lean on when one was troubled, her warmth would always welcome any pain or trouble. Though listening to Parvati talk about magic, Korra leaned back into her a bit more, for a moment, Korra seemed deep in thought before finally making a small gesture with her hand. "It's not that I practice their magic--" She said flashing a coy grin as she glanced up at Parvati from her chest. "--They become a part of my magic though, their experiences and songs become a part of my power. Kirin is the best example. I feel his pain and stress because of it. If I have more like Kirin, then my repertoire will expand too. Kirin alone is already strong, but imagine if there were more lining up beside him?~" She explained proudly knowing that she'd become a terrifying force if she could unite more draconian bloodlines through her music.
@Korra Quinn Parvati couldn't help but chuckle at Korra's description of what Kirin's family was doing in the sky. She would have called it cute out loud, but held back her tongue in case Korra took it the wrong way. She didn't want to alarm the girl for being inappropriate, especially since she barely knew the customs of Orario. She still had a lot to learn, after all. The Amazoness found the warmth of the bard's hand comforting, even though she was the one to give the comfort. Funny how things turn out, especially when with around other people. She gently squeezed the hand back, not letting go. Her hand was far too comfortable to let go, as embarrassing as that thought was. She had to blink when Korra said that the magic had to be a part of her. "So, you have to be the magic?" she asked, a little confused, "I do not understand and I apologize for it. But let me think, magic has something to do with the person and their passions, yes? And through experience, one can become more powerful? ...No, wrong, not what I meant." She struggled to find the proper words to say. "Experience becomes the person? No, wrong too. Ergh..."
Korra didn't hesitate to hang onto Parvati's hand, feeling the squeeze back would make her gently squeeze once in a while to see if Parvati would keep reciprocating. It was only a small and playful gesture, but the return was a welcoming sign as she laid against Parvati's chest. Being asked about her magic though, Korra's gaze narrowed, her lids closing to a small slit as she considered how to respond. After a short hum, she finally answered with a low tone. "Magic is different from person to person. It will either manifest as a gift from your familia's God or Goddess or in the form of your calling manifested. For me, well, my calling is rather vague." She said lying without blinking or guilt. She simply couldn't tell someone she and Dragons had the same calling of hording and finding companionship any and everywhere. It was for this reason Kirin came to her when she played, and why she claimed to be a maiden associated with the Dragons. Instead, looking up at Parvati she nodded slowly. "It's my calling that makes me magnetic and helps my repertoire stay versatile and unpredictable, but it's not the same for everyone. Your's would be different right? What do you find happiness in? Pleasure from? What do you live for?" She asked cocking her head curiously as if to say this answer would answer Parvati's question.
@Korra Quinn "Ah, so magic is different for each one," Parvati said, trying to make sense of her statements. So, I had to have a calling of some sort? What was the calling for me? she thought to herself as she laid there quietly. She knew she was able to create fire at her very finger tips, but other than that, she didn't know exactly what she had either. Perhaps she was in the same boat with that regard. She blinked when Korra began asking her, in her opinion, strange questions. "What I...live for?" She became quiet again as she pondered the questions. Truth be told, she found joy in just using her magic. It was something she poured her heart and soul into, and even if she created a tiny flame, she would be happy. But how was she going to explain that magic was pretty much the only thing that came to mind when she mentioned happiness? She didn't know. "I find joy in...few things," she said haltingly, giving Korra a sheepish smile and a nervous laugh, "I suppose I find joy in women. But that does nothing for my magic. I...have no knowing of what brings my magic out. It just...happens. I cannot describe the feeling." She frowned as she tried to collect her thoughts. "For me, magic...just comes. I call, it comes. And it makes me happy knowing I can use magic when others of my kin cannot." She stopped speaking and let out another little laugh. "I might not be making much sense, hm?"
Korra couldn't help a small chuckle in answer to her question and worry about what she lived for. It made her snicker just a little, she couldn't help a sweet laugh at the girl's words, particularly what she felt joy in. Though the girl's confusion about magic made her chuckle back, it was in-eloquent but Korra got the idea. "Ho? We have that in common~ Women are very joyful aren't they?" She teased with a very happy smile taking a long hard look at Parvati while she waited to see what the girl thought. Though when she talked about using her magic, Korra gave a mellow hum in answer her magic. "You probably haven't had a chance to explore much-- We all have things that we live for, even if we can't remember or think why. Things that are like us-- For me, Music touches everybody, moves hearts and minds, offers support and strength and brings people together. My magic is music-- Music is my magic, and my Magic gets stronger from others and encounters." She explains with a happy smile trying to elaborate for the girl who seemed really lost. Korra wouldn't hesitate to try rolling over to rest her chin on Parvati's chest looking up at her happily trying to fold her arms under her chin to look up at her. "I'm sure there's something great in your's, something that can be strong but also gentle. Something that is both wild but also restrained. Even if you don't see it for yourself, I'm confident there's something beautiful inside here." She explained contently trying to pat the girl gently to indicate her heart with a bright and reassuring smile.
@Korra Quinn Parvati nodded when Korra said she hadn't really explored her magic. "Yes, true," she said, "I have not practiced enough. I have no knowing what my magic is because of it." Her gaze became a little faraway when she thought of how she used to practice magic when no one was looking. Those times weren't many, admittedly, but they were all happy experiences she enjoyed, rather than the forced spars she had with her sisters. She snapped out of it to listen to Korra. "Something to live for..." She frowned. "I have no knowing of what I have to live for. Not taking Mother's property, I am sure. But...maybe you are right, story singer. Maybe I need to find it for myself." She wiggled her hand out of the sleeping bag and used it to brush away her bangs and the beads that covered her face. "Hm..." She paused when the bard said there was something inside her that was good. At least, that was the message she got from it. "Do you think that?" she asked, "I have no knowing of whether or not I have something good inside. Perhaps there is, but I do not see it yet." She tilted her head downwards to look at Korra. "What do you see in me, story singer?"
Korra relaxed against Parvati up until she was asked what she thought and what she saw in her. Korra couldn't help flashing a very wide grin at the question before glancing up to Parvati once more. "Are you sure you want to know? If nothing else, I'm good at knowing people better then they know themselves. What if you don't like what I see?~" She asked with a tender gaze watching Parvati closely for the answer. While it might sound like a playful jest, it was far from it. Korra had experienced a lot from other people, living life through their stories and through their lives, her magic revolved around others, her power from others, her desires were others even. All of this experience accumulated and culminated into a good enough intuition. If Parvati approved though and remained curious, Korra would press her face a bit deeper into the girl's chest, suddenly trying to use her weight to try and snuggle into her chest even if it was just an inch further. It might be uncomfortable, perhaps even inappropriate, but before Parvati could protest, she might feel Korra's hand delicately tapping at her side. The gentle rhythm of the girl's heart being recorded with soft tapping as Korra listened closely with closed eyes. "It's warm... Soft... Gentle... There's a lot in here-- I can hear the confusion in here though-- uncertainty right?" She asked with a mellow smile, though that was all stuff she could decipher just from talking, she continued with a mellow tone before finally glancing up at Parvati. "Do you want to hear what I hear in here?" She asked glancing up at Parvati as if she were listening to a song that the girl herself might not be able to hear. It was perhaps cheesy, but it was something that Korra was rather adept at. It was this way that a lot of her most powerful songs were made after all. Thinking that this would be another chance to expand her repertoire she asked Parvati with a musing gaze.
@Korra Quinn "I do not care if it is something I do not like. But, perhaps if there is some good in there, I would want to know," Parvati said, giving her permission to tell her what the girl saw in her. She blinked in surprise when Korra began rubbing her face into the Amazoness' chest. To be honest, it was a little uncomfortable, but she was fine since she was a girl. "Mm." The Amazoness grunted in affirmation when the bard said there was some confusion in there. She was confused, confused by all the new customs she had to witness and the life she started leading since two years ago. She had no purpose, other than the task her mother gave her, and it was a little sad that she was aimless in which direction she should go, metaphorically speaking. She blinked in surprise at Korra's words. "My heart has something?" she asked, not sure how to react. She paused for a long while before she nodded ever so slightly, making sure not to accidentally touch Korra's head with her chin. "Tell me what my heart says then, story singer." She looked down at her, then back up to the sky again, watching darken. She waited for the girl to answer her.
