Speed Date! Korra & Parvati

Discussion in 'Trade Quarters' started by Briareus, Nov 4, 2016.

  1. Upon entering, the warm hard wood floors and paneling emanate a cozy feeling which tickles delightfully against the senses. A young serving boy with glistening, white hair quickly scurries up with a clipboard and confirms your name before guiding you to the fourth booth within the newly opened cafe, Sugar & Spice. After taking your order, he nods meekly and promptly hurries off to attend to the needs of others while you await for the other party's arrival. Upon their arrival, he'll return to take the other's order and bring both to the table shortly thereafter.

    Just who exactly had lady luck paired you up with? Only time can tell.

    @Korra Quinn @Parvati Roshan

    Parvati didn't spare a second glance at the serving boy and just sat down at the booth. She scanned the menu and then told the boy she would be having a Mad Hatter's Tea Party. She casually waited for the person she was paired up with while looking around the place. The cafe was a quaint little place and had this new look about it. But that didn't really interest her much, she was more curious about the partner she was going to get.

  3. Korra naturally showed up to such an event, though there were likely suspicions that this was all her idea, they wouldn't necessarily be wrong. When she joined her familia and Bri, she didn't have any conditions, any requests, any needs-- The only thing she mentioned was an off handed remark about perhaps having speed dating. Naturally, Korra didn't expect him to take it this far, but she was still pleased, particularly when she saw Parvati. "Hoho~ We meet again, and for something like this~" She spoke with a teasing tone as she grabbed her chair on the opposite end of Parvati.

    Spinning the chair without hesitation, for a more relaxed sitting posture, she pressed her chest into the back while looking at Parvati across the table with a warm grin. "It makes me wonder what you're looking for a little~" She added in with a sweet coaxing grin, her childish side really showing from how giddy she was.

    Parvati's face lit up when she caught sight of Korra. "Ah, story singer, so it is you who I meet today," she said, a smile on her face, "I have no knowing of the concepts here. I thought I will try them for some time." The boy from before came back to take Korra's order, but she didn't pay him any mind. "So, story singer, have more songs been sung as of late? Perhaps you have met others that enjoy it?"

  5. Korra chuckled sweetly, happily leaning her head forward nodding back, glad to be remembered. Though when she heard that Parvati was trying things out that only made her grin wider. "I see~" Korra mused, but glancing to the server, her words were very precise "Something sweet", it sounded vague, but whenever Korra ordered a drink that was always what she would ask for no matter where. In the end it would always be a fun little surprise for her. The talk about meeting others who enjoy it and finding more songs to be sung though made her flash a mellow grin. "Not yet, I'm not quite that fast though I do try. So far the one who's liked it most is you isn't it?~" She explained with a happy smile knowing that Parvati was the first to take an interest in her song and not also be put off by her advances while at the same time not refusing outright either.

    "Hm, a shame that I am the one who likes your songs most," Parvati said with a frown, "Perhaps others have not seen your talents well." She shrugged as she watched the boy move away from them, presumably to either get their order or to go to another customer. Her gaze then turned onto Korra, her amber eyes speaking of curiosity. "If I man, perhaps one small thing, does Kirin shed his scales? I am sorry I am asking this, I am curious as to see if he does."

  7. Korra flashed a warm smile shaking her head in response, after all the reason many couldn't appreciate her song was because it was either overly provocative for no reason or because she was hitting on them simultaneously. For Parvati a lot of those references or metaphors went over her head leading to this current harmonious relationship no doubt. Though hearing her ask about Kirin shedding scales, she cocked her head in question wondering why. "Mm? He does, Kirin's scales don't grow with him, so every so often he'll shed them off. That's part of being a dragon isn't it?" She asked wondering what brought on the sudden question.

    "Ah, I see," Parvati said while watching the boy from before bring out both their orders. She took her drink and blew on it before taking a sip. Even that managed to burn her tongue a little. "Truth may be, Mother told us to find a dragon and bring back something from it," she said, clearing things up for Korra, a smile playing on her lips, "She never said what to take, though. Perhaps, if it is right, I can have one scale?" She swirled her cup a little, looking down. "Of course, no is fine. I just wanted to ask."

  9. Korra flashed a mellow grin in response to Parvati's words, taking something from a dragon was surely an arduous task if you didn't know one, Korra happened to be rather well off in that area, whether or not Parvati noticed, every bit of clothing Korra wore was made from Kirin's scales, mane or other parts. Reaching a hand up, she tapped a finger to her hair band giving the azure spiral horn a gentle flick. "If you wanted a part from it-- One that would cause some awe, instead of a scale, you should take the horn instead." She said giving the small horn on her headband another flick to indicate it. "I got this one when Kirin was really small, but it's a lot harder to get then just scales-- Like baby teeth, Kirin will only ever have a certain amount." She explained with a soft chuckle.

    "Oh, I doubt Mother would know where such things came from, much less what dragons have," she said as she blew on her drink and sipped at it, "Scale is fine. Though horn sounds interesting, I do not think mother would think it came from a dragon. Rather, she think it would be from one horned horse." Parvati sighed happily as she flashed Korra a smile. "Thank you for understooding. I thought you would be unhappy if I asked while, as they say, out of the blue." She didn't mind as she sipped at her drink.

    Time would pass and eventually Parvati would tell Korra that she needed to go. "But we will meet again, story singer. I am sure of that," she said as she exited the cafe. Just another good meeting, after all. She didn't mind how things turned out.

  11. Korra couldn't help a playful snicker, the girl's story was amusing, someone asking for something from a dragon without the expertise to assess exactly what it came from? It was a silly thought to Korra who was musing about it. "It seems like you were sent on a goose chase then maybe? If you don't know how to tell, how would you know the scale came from a dragon and not a fish?" She tried to tease with a happy smile, but it didn't bother her, instead she turned up to her vest brushing a hand over the threaded scales. "If you want one, I don't mind~" She offered but the thought of being mad didn't occur to her. It was perhaps valuable to have draconian materials, but Kirin only had draconian ancestry and was still too young to provide any material that was earth-shatteringly powerful. "It's not a big deal. Kirin sheds scales every few years, I collect them and sell them out of habit anyway. They're better in the hands of a friend right?" She explained with a happy smile.

    Seeing the girl leave though Korra drained the last of her juice, licking her lips to moisten them. "Leaving just like that? Even though it was a date?" She teased pursing her lips at Parvati, she didn't expect anything, but simply wanted to see her off with a playful teasing gesture before relaxing back into her seat to spend more time at 'home'.
