Djinn Cross Race: Dark Elf Age: 22 Sex: Male Sexuality: Straight Relationship: Single Djinn is a rather handsome-looking person that is pretty hard to be considered as ugly, to tell the truth. Possessing a slim yet tall body fine-toned for close combat and grey-colored eyes that might as well as sharp as an hawk's, proving to be worth of his accuracy, the man's hair is mid-long and white as snow, of the same color of his slim eyebrows. Small golden earrings can be seen dangling from his ear, reminiscent of his home village, and a single jewel rests upon the skin of his forehead, red-clad. To point out his outlandish-looking visage and jewellery would be a correct critique. His clothes, albeit never very permanent, is most often than not consisting of a simple buttoned dark green coat alongside black pants and shoes, which almost make him look official despite his playful nature. The only thing that could be considered as outlandish enough on his set of clothes would be his stark white turban of which he almost always wear no matter the rest of his attire. Rather curiously, his right arm is always covered by bandages and he has always refused to take them off, even while bathing. Whenever it is necessary, he will always replace them before they show their time, preventing his closed ones from seeing what is beneath. Height: 6’1” Build: Slim and athletic Personality Though his family has always detested his way of thinking and has many times told him to try and act more like a professional rather than a complete and utter buffoon, Djinn has always been the playful kind. The use of taunts and a rather arrogant approach has never been rare for him to use in combat and he never really looks as though he takes a lot of things seriously despite the wise nature of his mind. He has always been the crafty type, the one to make many plans, whether incredibly simple or utterly complicated, trying to direct those under his command with utmost care and, whenever needed, trying to act more serious during those moments, yet not too much. Despite this, he remains disciplined and sophisticated among his friends and closed ones, and stress has hardly been something he has ever really faced lately. But Djinn is not a perfect man, of course, for he is one with a mind that acts before thinking. Compulsive, he has shown many times to not always completely follow his plans to the letter whenever he happens to find something that he does not enjoy watching, such as torture or misery. Brutality is also not something he refuses to use whenever he is in a battle against something he possesses true hate for, going as far as to break his mostly pacific nature with extreme violence, and he is also one with a tongue that refuses to stay put when it meets something it dislikes, criticizing things with brutal honesty. Nevertheless, Djinn does not consider himself as a terribly evil man nor a benevolent angel, though he has always tried his best to aim for the latter despite the origins of his family. Positive: Disciplined, Playful, Wise Negative: Brutal, Compulsive, Critical Biography For many centuries, the Naimaran Brotherhood was considered to be the most dangerous, ruthless and, also, efficient band of warriors that one could ever hope hiring at the right price. A group of Dark Elves specialized in the arts of swordsmanship, archery and assassination, their reign within the mercenary business has came to and some years ago after they were forced to retreat to the Kaios Desert and the East due to a severe and crushing defeat from an opposition still in the reigns even to this day. But this is not the story of the Brotherhood. No, instead, we shall focus on a particular individual going by the name of Djinn. Born from Dark Elf parents that were killed in battle after a failed mission they had undertaken, the boy and his older sisters - the youngest of the four, Iris, Katia, Mila and the elder Crystal - were forced to live on their own alongside the Naimaran folk within one of their villages located in the Kaios Desert. Ensued for the boy a childhood that he would had wished to avoid if he ever had the chance. Considered generally weaker than the other Naimarans while he trained along with them, he was soon treated as a weakling by the entire village once he had started to expand his knowledge from the books of a friend, an older lady going by the name of Yulia whose career had ended a long time ago after she had lost not only the will to kill, but also the left arm to fight with. This bookworm lifestyle of his brought joy to Yulia who had longed for a friend to accompany her through her final solitary days, but his sister did not take his refusal to go on any mission that he was proposed to too kindly, with Mila being the only one to understand his motives, touched by his kindness. Iris, spoiled by her prodigal combat skills and the fame that the village brought to her every time she came back from a successful mission, had mocked Djinn for a very long time and has even gone as far as to insult Yulia's name many times whilst he was near her brother, which often caused him to revolt and treat his sister as badly as she did, causing her to beat him many times. Once, she had even gone as far as to break his arm as punishment and she would had surely gone further if Mila hadn't interrupted her. After such events, Djinn became ashamed of himself and had refused to meet Yulia ever again due to fear of being mocked despite the fact that the lady had gone weaker and weaker by the day. A week after she was unable to receive any more of his company, she died all on her own, saddened and having felt as though she had lost the only true friend she had received in years at the very end. It was once Yulia was gone that, suddenly, the bookworm started accepting missions and acted as though he had completely changed, surprising the village folk and his sisters and breaking Mila's heart, who had been convinced, by now, that her brother had actually been a complete pacifist for all this time and that his antics had finally been broken by Iris and the others. To make sure she would never go too far, Djinn, noticing her anger, had decided to become more playful around her, trying to fool around just to make her smile, and he always succeeded, calming her down as a result. But this attitude of his persisted thorough his missions and, soon enough, once one of the village folk had considered his attitude downright insultingly easygoing whilst he had gone as a team alongside other men of his village, he was considered a shame to the Naimaran name once again, though, this time, Djinn barely seemed to care. Iris took this as a chance to laugh at him many times, but her many attempts to mock him always seemed to fail every time he had decided to reply back to her in a similar mocking time, recalling all of the missions she had failed to complete ever since she had fully been bathed within the arrogance that she was bestowed from her previous successes. At the age of 23, Iris, sick and tired of her brother's attitude, allowed her rage to steep into her hands as her blade sang its metallic anthem towards Djinn's right arm while he was sleeping, the boy 21 years of age at the time. Having been taken away from his peaceful slumber by the excruciating pain that came from his member, he had immediately allowed his left arm to grab the dagger that he always kept close to him whilst he slept and had quickly sent it straight towards whatever was in front of him in front of his still-closed eyes. Once he opened his eyes once again, he was met with the vision of his sister Iris having his dagger plunging straight through her bloodied right temple and protruding from her left, her eyes wide in pain as life slowly left them. The moment her dead body fell against his chest was the moment he simply told himself that his birthday was going to be pretty shitty. The next morning, the body of his sister was discovered and the people of the village immediately judged Djinn as the one responsible for the murder. Told to be a traitor to his own kind, he was ordered to leave the village before the next night, else he will meet the wrath of the Naimaran. Though his sister Mila tried to defend him, Katia and Crystal immediately went against her and told her that, if she ever sided with him, she would also be considered as much as a traitor as their brother was. Understanding the stupidity of his people and their stubbornness from accepting the fact that his sister was the first one to strike, he was left angered by the words of his folk and flesh and, out of spite, told them everything he has ever wanted to tell them ever since they had started mocking him without shame nor regret. Once he was done, leaving everybody shocked and some of them ready to take arms, he then told them that they could kill him if he ever wanted to after midnight, for they will never see him again anyways. He had then walked back to his home and had started packing in silence, having already allowed Mila to bandage his arm before then so that his wound would heal. Without her, he might've lost his arm for sure, though, now that he had to recover, the next days will be difficult. As such, Mila accepted to join him in his travels until his arm would heal and, together, they left the village before midnight and followed the path out of the desert and towards the West, where they would settle towards Orario. Thankfully, due to Mila's presence, Djinn was able to survive the trip, but, once his arm had recovered enough for him to use it correctly once again, his sister had to abandon him there so that the Naimaran would not start chasing them like he himself had asked them to in his rebellious attitude. Though it was a heartbreaking moment for Mila who went as far as to give her own blades to her brother, Djinn had simply told her that they would see each other once again in the near future and that there was no way this would be the last time she would be with him. Once she fully left him, he then travelled alone towards Orario and, soon enough, he reached the continent safe and sound. It was almost pretty luckily too, given that he had been attacked by a petty thief along the road that wasn't even skilled enough to shoot his weapon correctly. And now that he is here, he can finally start re-building his life away from all the people from the desert. Dropping his Naimaran past, he renamed himself "Cross" and then proceeded to Orario City, ignoring the pain that seemed to pulse from his arm from time to time as he did so. Status Familia: N/A Occupation: Co-Leader of the Thousand Suns Guild Archetype: Arms Current Level: 1 Strength: I - 55 Vitality: I - 30 Dexterity: I - 75 Agility: I - 90 Skill: Naimaran Eye: [Passive, Empower] "Thou Naimaran shall not kill if not tasked to, for that is how true peace is born." Though he is an outcast, Djinn still respects the creed of his home village and has, like all respectful Naimaran assassin, acquired what outsiders refer to as the "Naimaran Eye". Due to this, whenever he has no want to kill his target, Djinn can use this skill to increase both his Dexterity and Agility by one rank to ensure greater defence and quick neutralization of the target instead of its death, and thus, even if said target is a Monster. With that said, this skill cannot work if Djinn finds himself wanting to kill the target or having no choice but to do so in order to survive. Eagle Eye: [Passive, Empower] Rather interested by the use of ranged weaponry ever since he has stolen a crossbow, Djinn has developed a technique that allows him to focus entirely on the target before him to make sure he can have the best shot possible, thus increasing his Dexterity stat by two ranks. Djinn can only use this skill whilst using either ranged or throwing weapons. Equipment Weapons: Naimaran Curved Swords: A pair of curved, almost scimitar-looking swords that were given to Djinn by his sister Mila before he was forced to leave his home village located within the Kaios Desert. Black in color and in the possession of surprisingly luxurious-looking golden ornaments on both the hilt and blades, both swords are surprisingly light, which makes them a perfect fit for any assassin or hired mercenary. Wooden Crossbow: A plain wooden-made crossbow that Djinn stole from a bandit who tried to steal his weapons whilst he was travelling towards the lands of Orario. Although definitely cheap and mass-produced by blacksmiths, the weapon can however demonstrate a relative sense of utility thanks to its impressively silent shots. Armors: Preferring to aim for a speed-oriented combat style, Djinn has always preferred to wear lighter clothing, thus preferring cloth and leather over steel and metal. At the moment, however, he possesses a single metallic guard on his right shoulder underneath his coat, and he also keeps metallic plates on his wrists to block incoming blades without hurting himself or risking parries. Property: To be acquired Played by Hibiko Posting Pace: Can go from one to two posts a day during the week to three to four posts a day during the weekend. Comfortable Post Length: 350-750 words.
