Parvati couldn't help but blush at the word date. Come to think of it, wasn't this like a date? They were out eating together and all. No! Stop thinking about it! she thought to herself as she looked away, still blushing. "...P-Perhaps," she relented, unsure if that was the correct response to say around her or not. Her blush subsided somewhat when they began talking about Kirin. "I see. So good to know Kirin will be alright," she said, "It's not like we can bring him here and feed fish." Pause. "Does Kirin even like fish?" she wondered out loud, pondering that statement. She knew he ate meat, since he was able to eat the entrails of the boar from their first dinner together. Her blush returned when she thought about how the dinner was also like a date. I need to stop thinking about that...
Korra's smile widened when Parvati offered more hope, she even seemed to notice her efforts to cutely hide the word 'date', though she didn't fight or push away as others might have. It was a warm feeling in her heart that settled in as she nodded back, growing a bit less joking she answered with a soft tone. "Hopefully~" It was subtle, sweet even as she continued looking at her menu content with their time together. Though the talk about Kirin made her turn her head up in thought. "It wouldn't be the first time I've taken him into a restaurant. He's usually a big hit or we get kicked out though, very few are actually really mellow about him coming." She explained cocking her head to one side as she mused on that thought. After all she was somewhat popular as an adventurer or supporter at least. Though when asked if he liked fish, Korra giggled softly nodding back. "He does, Dragons can eat anything you know? That's why people are usually so scared of them." She tried to tease with a sweet giggle seeing Parvati struggling with thoughts of dating.
@Korra Quinn Parvati nodded in understanding as the bard explained how they either get kicked out of an area or became a celebrity in the area. It must be tough, being so well renowned while trying to keep her lifestyle from falling apart. "Hm, I did not know they can eat everything," she said, "Are dragons always hungry?" The waitress came back with their drinks and appetizers and set them down. Then she whipped out a pad and asked them what they would like to order. "Catch of the day, well seasoned," the Amazoness said, giving the waitress a light smile. She turned to Korra to see what she would say when it came to her order.
The question about dragons always being hungry was a difficult thing for Korra to answer. There were dragons who certainly were always hungry after all, but the opposite was also true, with dragons that never needed to eat, they were simply far too different depending on their lines. "Well, if it's on the level of a True Dragon, they don't really need to eat, but they do for their own amusement I guess? There are also Dragons like Jabberwock.... Who lives eternally starving." She admitted with a weaker expression remembering once more how the creature happened to eat. When the waitress came back with appetizers though, Korra ripped open a hunk of bread simply smelling the interior happily before trying to smear butter over it as she spoke. "I'll have shrimp pasta." She spoke handing the menu back over happily before turning back down to her bread, gazing back at Parvati, Korra was particularly cute with her favorite foods, nibbling little by little to enjoy and savor her buttered roll.
Parvati couldn't help but blink in surprise at Korra's words. Though she was curious about this Jabberwock never feeling full, she got the idea that it would be bad to talk about it. If it was Korra's business, then it was her business and she should leave it be. She had noticed the expression on the bard's face becoming more strained, but said nothing. When the waitress took their menus and left, she couldn't help but sigh. "Shrimp pasta sounds good," the Amazoness said while watching her nibble her bread. She looked really cute from this angle- She froze when that though crossed her mind and immediately blushed. She shouldn't be thinking stuff like that, it wasn't like they were doing anything, right?
Korra saw the girl blinking, the curiosity practically overflowing from her eyes, but Parvati seemed to be trying to be polite the best she could at least. Reaching out across the table, Korra tried to find Parvati's hand as she spoke in a very hushed tone. "Jabberwock has Draconian ancestry, like Kirin and Hydra, but is different. My teacher used to call it 'The Nightmare Dragon' because of what it does... It eats negativity; fear, despair, sadness. That's why I say, the way it eats isn't normal. It takes the things that are 'inside' and pulls them 'outside' to eat them." She explained, though her expression was a little grim and pale as she explained, she held onto Parvati's hand through it feeling a little better from the contact. "My teacher always said though that great disasters can be great helps though, he thought that Jabberwock could be changed, or that he had the power to help people-- He never really explained how though." Korra admitted with a sad smile. When the topic shifted back to food though, Korra's expression softened and grew more relaxed again, dealing with that dragon was far into the future, Korra didn't have the power to convince Hydra let alone Jabberwock as well. There was still time for her to figure things out. Until then though she turned back down into her bread slowly, as if a chipmunk nibbling. Bread was truly something Korra appreciated, particularly warm buttered bread. With a moist tongue making sure the butter didn't escape through the cracks or over her fingers, she finished it little bite by bite before finally licking her thumbs contented. "Doesn't it?~ It makes me think I should eat out more often~" She teased happily.
@Korra Quinn Korra's hand reached out for the Amazoness' and she immediately took it without a second thought. This action made her pause for a moment before snapping back into reality to listen to the bard. Her brows furrowed at the explanation of how Jabberwock fed. Taking things from the inside and pulling them outside? Didn't she say that was what happened to the people that were back in that cavern of magma? Was the Jabberwock responsible? She didn't say anything though, not wanting to bring up bad memories for her. "Hm, eat out more often and try new foods," Parvati mused, "Though I only eat fish. Perhaps I should change that." She shook her head. "Must be saving money for something if you're not using it, yes? What for, I wonder?" She glanced curiously at the supporter. How much money had she accumulated over her lifetime? "Is it a lot?"
Korra held onto Korra briefly, but Parvati's suspicions weren't far off, the realization was enough, Korra didn't speak on it further on it. Jabberwock was her goal and ideal to strive for as a mage and summoner after all, largely because it was the dream of her Teacher as well. After reaching that point, whether or not Korra would be content and think she's strong enough was another story, but she at least wanted to know if the dream her teacher had was possible-- At least, it was a dream that was much more selfless and beautiful then her dream of a harem, Korra didn't just want it to go to waste. Though the thought of eating new foods made her hang her head in thought, Korra herself usually just ate whatever was in front of her. She addored grains largely because they were so interesting and bizarre to her, the way an ingredient could be transformed was so clever and it's tastes were always so unique despite coming from the same place or ingredient. "New foods would be interesting... Though, hehe fish must get expensive though huh?" Though when asked about her money situation though, Korra lifted a utensil to her chin, playfully tapping it against it as she mused on how much she had saved up to this point. "I never really had a clear goal in mind I guess... But since I was young I was taught it's wasteful to throw things away so I just kept it." She spoke, clearly unsure herself what she was saving for, she just didn't have any expensive tastes. "It's a lot though I guess? I've had a friend tell me I have enough to buy a Duke's province-- Whatever that means." She said laughing sweetly as if it were the funniest thing.
@Korra Quinn She couldn't help but chuckle when she said fish would get expensive. "Yes, very true. Not all fish fresh too," she said, "Rotten fish would taste bad, I imagine." She never really ate anything rotten, in her memory. Maybe it was a good thing, she didn't want to get sick over spoiled food and whatnot. She nodded as she listened to Korra talk, absentmindedly drinking her water. Then Parvati did a double take at Korra. "A duke's province?" she asked, a little bit shocked, "Very rich leaders, they are. Or something like it, dukes do not do much but get tax from people, if I recall. I am not too sure myself, but that is a lot." Though it made sense if Korra was saving up and she didn't find a use for it.
Korra only giggled a little nodding back knowing that anything was terrible while rotten, except perhaps cheese. None of which she was truly a great fan of. Though thinking back, she'd had bad food in the past, getting sick over it was the reason she stopped trying to buy food in the first place. "I used to when I was small, I think that's where my habit of foraging and hunting came from. It was hard to buy food when I first started out." She explained, musing with a measure of nostalgia. Though when talking about Dukes, Korra knew they were some kind of royalty or some kind of politician? Though exactly what kind and how important they were she had no idea. She only giggled as if it didn't matter and gestured with a hand. "Are they? Hehe, that's so silly though, imagine me? Some fancy duke after buying my way into the country like that? With cute baubles and a nice cape or something in a fancy dress right?" She teased thinking it was absurd and amusing to consider. After all, Korra wasn't someone who could live like that even if it was her dream to be a princess, being noble and managing land seemed like a hassle.
@Korra Quinn "Mm, makes sense," Parvati said, "Foraging very fresh, I have learned while trying to find dragon to slay." She shrugged. She was still looking for that dragon, but she was very tempted to cheat a little if she could convince Korra to give her a scale from Kirin. She didn't want to push the subject, though. The Amazoness couldn't help but smile at the image the bard was sending to her. It just looked so cute, thinking about her in a cape and a fancy dress. Her blush returned a little as she tried to put that thought away. "Hm...not sure if life will suit you, story singer," she said, "Dukes are often disliked by people, and they hold high standing in politics. Politics and inheriting are not fun." She sighed. "Still need to find that dragon and a man. Not looking forward to finding man to marry..."
Korra nodded back, she'd foraged for her food ever since she'd been poisoned in her youth by rotten bread from the markets. After that, she simply relied on Kirin's nose to find food since it was already a creature of the wild, it naturally knew how to find food for it's own stomach. After a while of using Kirin, Korra simply learned what to look for and how to find it herself leading her to be the rather adept hunter she was at the present. Though hearing her talk about it not being the life for her, Korra could only give a nod and wave of understanding. It certainly wasn't her kind of lifestyle, as much as she liked the admiration and attention she might get, the rest of it was far too much work and bothersome. "Definitely not for me. None of it's still okay." Korra said, though listening to Parvati talk about finding a man, Korra pouted briefly, crossing her arms trying to turn her head slowly. "Psh... Why find a man if you don't want one? You could just stay with me instead. It's not like I don't have money." Korra explained.
@Korra Quinn "Yes, I rather prefer your company, story singer," Parvati sighed as she leaned back despairingly. Women were far better than men, in terms of looks, personalities, and, well, everything else. "But I would think Mother wants me to have more Amazonesses. Not sure if want, though." The Amazoness had no idea if she wanted children after all this time, but she knew if she did, it would provide even more of a conflict between finding a man and just being herself. She hummed in thought as she tried to think of what to say next, fingers drumming on the tabletop. Currently, she was wondering what Korra wanted to do and on the visit to the young woman's teacher, but she felt like that would be a little too rude. "...Tell me, Korra, story singer, how you plan on getting stronger?" she asked finally, "Perhaps more healing? I do know you do not like to fight."
Korra smiled back, rather happy that Parvati thought that her company was nicer. It was one of the best feelings to feel that sort of connection after all, though Parvati's talk of her family made Korra sigh a little trying to shake her head back in answer. "Amazonesses won't suddenly die out without your child though you know? I mean I think it would be more meaningful to just leave some guy on her doorstep and walk off right? Then you'll be helping your people and your mother if you can keep helping them like that." Korra tried to offer and suggest that abducting men might be more useful to her nation and her family. Though when asked on how she planned to get stronger, Korra smiled back widely, it was something she was rather proud of after all, Korra's ability to grow wasn't normal in a lot of ways after all. Her stats grew somewhat normally at a glance except her magic. "Well, my Magic just gets stronger from companionship, happiness, love-- I'll just keep trying to find it. I'm at my best when I'm most happy after all." She explained rubbing her hands together slowly. "That's how I've grown so far, it hasn't failed me yet."
@Korra Quinn Parvati's face screwed up at the very thought of it. "I am sure Mother wants man for us to have babies," she sighed, "Leaving him there would not do." She sighed again and leaned back, trying to listen to Korra and not let her thoughts cloud her mind. "Stronger through companionship and happiness sounds fun," she murmured, "I do not think my magic is like your, story singer, but if it was then it would be happy for the sake of magic." Just then the waitress came in with their dishes and Parvati sat up straighter. Her eyes were shining as she stared at the food laid before her. It was clear she wanted to dig into it quickly. "Mmm, yours looks good," she said, eyeing her shrimp pasta before turning on her own meal. She began to eat with gusto, clearly happy.
Korra couldn't help a small pout, if it was over children Korra didn't have a snappy answer for that after all, she could only try to protest the best she could and hope Parvati agrees with her without being too forceful. It was a thought that made her somewhat sad at heart knowing that there was a chance that she might not succeed. "That's even worse though." She said pouting enough for her cheeks to puff faintly, but in the end she only huffed that breath out and tried to sound adoring, though in the end it would probably sound more cute then anything else. "Well, if it comes to that I'll be sure to kidnap you so you don't have to go down that road." She spoke, though she was deadly serious internally it would surely sound like a cute joke. Korra after all wouldn't mind fighting a wealthy family for their daughter, at least, once she had hydra she wouldn't have a need to fear them really. Though when she talked about the food, Korra glanced down with a small smile, seeing that Parvati was eager to jump in. She eagerly gestured to let Parvati know she didn't need to hold back for her. Seeing Parvati so thrilled over her food though was very sweet, she giggled watching Parvti eat for a short while before speaking in a sweet tone. "Is it good?" She asked before finally digging into her own with a mellow but pleased smile.
@Korra Quinn Parvati couldn't help but laugh a little, nearly swallowing her food down the wrong way. She didn't really think that Korra's teasing would ever happen, but she would be more than happy if it did. She simply nodded when asked if her food was good before swallowing. "Tasteful," she said as she chomped down another mouthful of it. As she ate, she couldn't help but stare a little when she saw Korra eating. The way her cheeks puffed out was pretty cute in her opinion. If she was caught staring, she would blush and turn her head down so that she would focus on her food. Now that she thought about it, despite looking like a somewhat generic Amazoness, she was cute in her own right. Especially when thinking back on seeing her naked- Thoughts, stop that, she mentally chastised herself as she blushed a brilliant red color.
Korra's deadly serious offer mistaken for teasing wasn't unusual, after all few would think someone would mettle in family affairs and kidnap someone so blatantly after all. Korra however was someone to whom rationality and common sense did not apply, she lived for one and only one purpose after all, and beyond that there was nothing that would stand in her way of achieving that goal! Time would show how serious and to what lengths Korra would go though, of that there was no doubt. Though Korra would naturally take glances at Parvati who was eating so excitedly, as if it was her first time having cooked food. It was cute, so there was no doubt Korra would catch her staring. Every time she turned away shyly and blushed though, Korra's expression grew warmer. Internally nodding, Korra decided, she would at least try to cross the threshold of having Parvati come out about liking her at least! With that thought in mind, Korra smiled after a few more bites. "Your room doesn't have a second bed does it?" She asked, assuming Parvati's room at the inn would only have a single one, after all, who would be wasteful enough to buy a room with a second bed when you were sleeping alone? Korra simply wanted to make the girl think about where Korra would end up staying though.
@Korra Quinn "Mm?" She swallowed her food before answering. "Only one bed, I fear," she said, "Is there an asking for reason?" She paused at her butchered common language with a frown. "No, said it wrong. Er...will why work? ...Yes, why?" She glanced at Korra curiously as she ate, slower this time. It hadn't occurred to her that sticking around Korra would be a dangerous affair. Why would it be? She was a mellow person and it's not like Kirin attacked people. But she didn't realize that Korra could possibly play with her heart when it came to their relationship. She was, for the most part, unsuspecting of her friend's intents.
Korra grinned happily hearing her reply about one bed, though when she asked why and seemed to stumble around her question, Korra answered in a sweet musing tone. "Then, are we going to share?" She asked biting her lip at Parvati briefly with a playful and innocent hope in her heart of stirring some real feelings from Parvati, with high hopes in her heart she asked if Parvati wanted to share. Blinking her eyes with high hope, batting her eyelashes only a moment, she looked up at Parvati from her plate after asking as if this would be an important step. Far from dangerous, Korra's only interest was hoping that her chance with this cute girl she'd gotten to know was real. Filled with determination to make her new friend and potential companion happy, she wanted to see if there was a line drawn already.
