Charity Several days earlier Sitting around the shop the male would practice his dexterity and hand skills with a simple coin, all the while formulating just what to do once he was free from the shop. It wasn't until teh bell went off his attention would shift as he saw a rather peculiar being enter. Not really use to dealing with other races, it was the first thing he'd take not of about said being; they weren't human. Small cat like ear appeared as they seemed to have some sort of appeal, a warm smile brought to his face. Aside from this factor there was the fact the neko like being was also a female. A soft spot for woman for obvious reasons he'd blush some as she approached the counter. A brow arched he'd ask curiously about her reason for visiting and just what it was he could help her with. Upon such an inquiry he'd be met witha toothy grin and a playful pur as the girl spoke explaining a design for a blade was needed; the type simply dangers but a large bulk would be needed. However the design upon them was a familiar stamp as such he'd see his father's reaction and the immediate dismissal. Calmly he'd wave the female off to look around while he talked to his father. The two getting into a heated decission as he ultimately tride to reason with him one last time. "Father, there is no alignment here in this shop, we've sold to murders who betrayed those down in the dungeons; hell the male who tried to slay me has been here twice since the event and you've never turned him away. This order is large, large enough to pay our next three months in adavanced. I know they are criminals but it is not our job to judge nor condem folks for their actions. That is the gods, for us our goal is to make sure those who have money and need good gear are supplied and folks don't die in the dungeon. Besides, contrary to belief, there is more good coming from the thieves and this group in particular is trying to better their community. If you've noticed they never bothered to steal from anyone but the rich and those with more than they can afford, aside from that kind of association they don't even keep their money. They often donate to the poor and help to repair and upgrade what they can in the slums. Since their arrival things have improved there, less kids go to bed hungry and our economy surprisingly has gotten better. Mind you I've only heard most of this during my time at the cafe and business ends of town, but you know how it is. The rich keep their money not often spending it to stay ahead. Look if your that opposed to the idea father, I'll do it. You can keep what you normally charge for the work and whatever extra I'll take and even donate to the orphanage. How is that? That way you don't feel as bad and we can at least feel like we are doing good out of this, besides if we help them they are less likely to be robbed in the slums, after all a rival gang wouldn't want to deal with the wrath of these guys; they are rather large. So...what do you say..." After a few more minutes of delegating he'd smile and walk back calling the female taking the order he'd tell her to come back in several days to see a sample. As such he'd agree and leave; having kept his word about working something out eh would assist his father to the best of his ability around the shop. Until the time came. Several Days Later As such she had returned and he'd give her the sample of the work; beyond pleased she'd pay for her goods recieve her billl of sales and gave him an address to deliver the goods. Nodding he'd divide the cash as he promised, took what was left over and begin moving the packed gear onto a cart outside and have his father's mule pull it as he soon made his way to the slums. Although slightly worried the Governing bodies might come down hard on them; he is not ethically responsible for who purchases the wares so long as they purchase them. It was his inner greed making logical sense and justification but it was the truth in his eyes no matter. Yet lips locked he'd soon find himself nearing the destination. A few shady looking men waited, after giving the signal they came over unpacked the cart and handed him a symbol badge; claiming so long as he had that he'd be safe in the slums and if he did run into trouble just show it; those who didn't respect it would be handled with extreme prejudice. Nodding he'd smile and wish the merry men luck with their quest and prepare to head off once more back home. However as he made his way back he'd remember the gold he brought and noted the promise. Lost some he'd ask around a bit before finally fining and arriving at the orphanage. Upon arrival he'd park the cart and mule; tying him up to a post he'd soon enter and look about. Eyes scanning the area he'd fold his arms until he saw someone he thought worked there. Asking them if he might meet the ownered he'd arch a brow and soon follow wind. Arriving not shortly behind them as he was introduced to a female he'd look a bit confused, "Are you the owner of said orphanage? I came here to meet with them and give a sizable donation from my father's shop. He said he wanted to help the best he could he hoped it might help with the upcoming holidays and raise the spirits around here." He'd say with a smile hoping that she'd accept the offer, little did he know, she was in fact a goddess. @Hestia
@Damion DeAndre Hestia was sweeping out the dust and debris that was on the floor of the orphanage before she noticed someone come up to her. "Just a moment!" she called out, trying to finish up the sweeping. She dusted off her dress with one hand while the other she kept a hold on the broom. "What business do you have here, child?" she asked. "Ah, yes I'm the owner of Hearth's Home, this orphanage. I'm Hestia, goddess of the hearth." She smiled as she was handed over the money. "Thank you for your contribution! I'll make sure it goes into feeding and taking care of the children here. Hm, if you want, you can come inside and help volunteer. We're a little short on staff at the moment."
Charity As he stood there waiting for the female to finish her task and hand over the contribution the male would arch a brow as she finished and spoke, she was a goddess it would appear. He'd think to himself as she thanked him for his contribution, yet as he was all ready to leave it appeared she seemed more than willing to seek his aid. A brow arched once more he'd turn around and look to her. Rubbing the back of his head he didn't want to make a bad first impression, then there was the fact she was a goddess. So he figured he might as well go ahead and see just what it was she seemed to be all about. Nodding he'd follow in behind her and fold his arms some. So this was Hearth's home for an orphanage. Interesting. However, why would a goddess care so much about kids? There was no real profit or gain in this for most; aside future possible worshipers but that probably didn't matter to her. "So Hestia huh, I didn't think goddess when seeing you immediately. You tend not to flaunt it too much huh? But then again that is probably why you run an Orphanage huh?" He'd ask curiously as they walked inside and he looked about, the place looked like it was rough to manage. The children seemed nice, but the place was run down. A certain part of him wanted to help more and as such he was glad to help out some. Maybe this god would be the god he could work for, use his greed and desire for power to sway others and turn this orphanage into the most resilient place in the slums, starting here then working around it, he could probably do it. The thought spun on his mind some as he would walk about. "So Hestia, tell me about yourself and this place. I have met a few gods in my day; you intrigue me more than you know. You see I'm a supporter but only until I feel I've grown strong enough to become an adventurer one day. Then and only then will I select a god from those I've met and give them my undying allegiance. I won't lie, so far you've interested me most. I know we've only just met, but of all the gods you've not only caught my curiosity but now you have my attention. I must know more, like why and what is it your looking for. Most gods aren't like you, not in the slightest. You must have a big familia" He'd say smiling warmly before folding his arms and looking about more walking and listening to her. The more and more they walked the more interested he became in this area, perhaps it was soon to say but he felt almost as if this was indeed the goddess of choice, such kindness compassion. Yet he'd bite his tongue and await for her to speak. @Hestia
@Damion DeAndre "Thank you for your help, I really do appreciate it," Hestia said with a smile as he entered the orphanage premises to help the volunteers out. She couldn't help but chuckle at his observation. "I did take the form of a Pallum, after all. I wouldn't be surprised if anyone didn't recognize me, I prefer to be in the background." She adjusted her cloak at the mentioning of not wanting to flaunt her status. "Oh no, I simply run the orphanage so I can take care of the children here. I don't want them to end up in the streets, cold and hungry. They deserve better than that." "Can you help out the volunteers watch over the younger children?" she asked, "I can take you there. It should only take a moment." As she walked, she pondered how to answer the man's question. "Hm, well, I am the goddess of the hearth and home, as I said before. It's partially why I named this orphanage Hearth's Home. I watch over the children here to make sure they have a warm place to sleep and enough to eat. I love to help out anyone in need, sometimes I go around the slums to help out others, despite my duties here. Can't really help it, I love to see people smile." She grinned at him. "Truth be told, I don't have much to say about myself. But this place, I can go on and on so I won't bore you with the details." The two of them entered a room where a bunch of younger kids were running around screaming and playing games. It would have made a normal person wince. Not Hestia, though, her smile only widened. "Just make sure they don't hurt each other. It should be simple enough, shouldn't it?" she said as she saw that there was at least one volunteer tending to one of the kids that had started crying.
Charity Words exchanged ideology brief it appeared some of his assumptions were true. She did so because she wanted to prove herself useful and that was it. No ulterior motives a true saint; the ideal god...goddess. Yet as they spoke he'd run his fingers through his hair some and scratch at his head. There really wasn't much more to her that she was willing to share, then again she was indeed busy. So he'd let ie slide .Moving forth he'd be guided to a room with a bunch of kids. A faint smile passed almost as if to put on a show; he was more nervous than anything. None the less the male would nod at her request before she had done whatever it was she planned to do. Figuring it was a test he'd move over to crotch down and ask another kid what was up. To which he got a long winded story about a fight and then scattered details that would appear exciting but lead to no real conclusion before distracted and pointing to his shoes. A hearty laugh passed as he then remembered what kids were like, never really being one himself forced to grow up young he forgot often to which he'd ruffled the boy's hair before noting a fight and disappearing. Arriving he'd pick them each up by the shirt and whistling he'd caught the other kids attention and staff, "Alright, that's enough." A few kids watched in awe as they saw his strengths carrying two tweens in such a manner before sitting them down. "Alright here is the deal. I don't care who started what or what the problem is. but I'm ending it. You all want to act like bandits and back stab one another do it on your own time. Not while I'm here, cuz if that's how it's gonna be I'll have to slay you where ya stand. I'm after all and adventurer.." His otherwise boring adult speech shifted some eyes as others gathered around a faint smile passed as they genuinely sounded interested asking him if he was serious. "Yes I am. But to be fair I could share a few tales, but if you want me to do that you all need to relax and behave. Take a seat button your lips an listen. If all goes well maybe I'll visit more often with new tales and for some of you a bit older maybe help teach you a few sword trick, see if we ca't make an adventurer out of you yet." He would say trying to tease some and gain their trust and attention. Yet as he spoke he'd notice a few not interesed and this was fine; but the majority focused on him left the other helpers a bit more relaxed and less stressed. "However before I became an adventuere I had to be a supporter. I still am sort of, but the point is. You aren't just born amazing, you have to work at it. As such, it starts with being good and doing your best all the time. Never giving up and always helping others are also important. So like I said I started off like you. How I got so big and strong was I worked. I learned what I was taught; paying attention and always trying to learn more. I know it's hard or boring sometimes but if you don't learn to appreciate it now later in a duneon it might not be a sgood. I can't tell you how many times I was thankful I paid attention to how important math was, I always thanked my teacher, your lucky to have as much help and people who care here. It' far ebigger and nicer than my home. You have so many teachers. For instance you older kdis cna help the younger and your like a teacher. Years from now you'll see one another and be thankful for these type of things..." As he contined on with his speech, it became apparent the kids listened some as shortly after they seemed calmer and more willing to help one another. A few kids asking for more clarity on the work others wanting to learn more. A few however just wanted piggy back rides and some manged to trip him up and pile atop of him laugherexchanged a he'd play along with their game and appear defated. A warm smile passing as he gave the goddeess Hestia had she noted a thumbs up; he wasn't the most influencial guy around but he had a way with kids. Probably to some degree because he as till one and could relate. @Hestia
@Damion DeAndre Hestia watched from afar as Damion began handling the children, a small smile on her face. She always did like it when the children were enjoying themselves, particularly when there was someone new in their presence. And yes, she meant Damion. She continued to watch as he began to make a speech about being an adventurer. Her smile widened when she saw that some of the kids looked confused at his speech. But it was fine, just as long as they were happy, they would be fine. She gave a curt nod as the man began to help out the kids with whatever they wanted to do. The goddess couldn't help but chuckle a little when he gave her the thumbs up. "You know, you can leave at any time if it suits you, sir," she said politely, "I'm sure you must be busy. If you feel the need to leave, you can do so." Some of the kids seemed a little dejected that they weren't getting their piggy back ride from the man.
Charity As he played with the kids some and paused to look back over he'd look confused at her words. "Already trying to get rid of me. I'd rather stay a bit longer, I'm sure father can manage the shop a bit longer on his own, besides. I said I'd aid and as a man of his word that I shall do. Hear that young men, if you make a promise keep it or your no better than dirty swines." He'd say poking a few sides and tickling a few kid before being swamped once more. It wasn't until a few moments later he'd escape and they'd run about the room some. Hands jumping back before he'd chased them roaring like a monster stomping his feet. As they played, one of the younger boys coming at him with a fake sword to protect another younger girl he'd call princess and fight the mighty beast. Playing along the two would do battle before he was slain and them forced to play the horse as punishment for his misdeeds many of the chidlren now getting a variation of the piggyback ride given his lack of space for them granted his height and him not wanting them to hit the ceiling; giving most were low and not high ones in the lower end of town. Shifting weight up after a few of the younger kids appeared tuckered out some time later he'd fall back beside Hestia exhausted, "I don't know how you do it. I've been to floor eight during my travels in dungeons and never been this exhausted, you clearly are truly a god." He'd say teasingly as he laid there closing his eyes catching his breath. "So why aren't you out making a name for yourself, taking those profits and helping turn this part of town into something more notable. A better place, targeting the kids is one thing but if they grow up here they'll be sheltered until they just get corrupted by the surroundings. An environment plays just as big a role as their upbringing." He'd ask almost unsure if she'd contemplated the thought prior. Yet assuming she most likely had the male would part his lips again to speak. "So what else is there I should know about the enigma that is hestia, please share something that might encourage me to join your familia. Aside from your obviously motherly nature and being a good person. What do you stand for, what is your familia's goals, your dreams. What do you plan to do here while you're on this plane, will you return when allowed tell me about yourself I'm curious...." He'd ask curiously his lips curling into a smile as he shifted his body now laying on his side to stare up and into her eyes. He found her appealing in some way; despite not quenching his thirsts or promising him power like some other gods did she didn't seem so eager to appease him, so much as she was to appease herself; this in itself peaking his interest. @Hestia
@Damion DeAndre "Oh no, I'm not trying to get rid of you," Hestia said quickly, putting her hands up, "I just simply remembered that you most likely have a life and that you had some business to take care of." She continued to watch him after that, playing with the children. She chuckled when he noted that playing with them was hard work. "I suppose you get used to it as time goes on." She had to pause when he asked why she didn't make much of a profit that could change the orphanage for the better. "Hm...never really crossed my mind. I suppose I could take in money and use it for something greater, but I feel that money corrupts a person. I only need what is necessary to keep everything running smoothly." She gave another pause as he asked her several other questions concerning her morals. "Well...I am simply the goddess of the hearth and of home. I want to make a place where everyone can get along without any worries, like how a family gets together for holidays. My familia is basically one where everyone can come here and live happily as best as they can. I did not set goals for them, I simply let them be, though most of my services are domestic. The work I do on occasion is mostly maid work, I got to other places to help make the place neat." Pause. "As for what I am doing on this plane...well, I suppose you can say that I was curious as to what my brothers and sisters were doing when they came down to this world and joined them after some time. I fell in love with the mortals here, their happiness and their togetherness. I wanted to see more of those happy faces when I came down to the mortal realm, which was why I made this orphanage in the first place. I can't stand the thought of people roaming the streets, cold and hungry. For now, I have no plans to go back, for I want to stay here and help take care of things. I do apologize if this explanation is long winded, I didn't expect to be asked those kinds of questions."
Charity As he looked forth to the goddess now sitting he'd listen and note her words. She honestly seemed to be unsure herself. Helping others was nice but being content with what she had to offer for now. It seemed like she had no real aspirations the fact she never thought to use her status or a familia to upgrade and better the area also made it odd. Yet her outlooks on money seemed to be very polar to his. A bit of conflicting feelings were now shared, perhaps this wasn't his goddess. She was definitely a candidate still but his fitting in wasn't as well as he had initially thought. He saw her cause nice and her choices morally great but her overall tone and way she went about things seemed to be lacking. Her heart was in the right place but that was about all that really moved him; being greedy and power hungry she wouldn't really fit or fulfill those needs. "I can't say that I don't agree with what you're doing. I just do not see this as the most beneficial way. I know you see money as a source of corruption but I beg you to at least consider it as also an opportunity. You've managed to do good here in this orphanage, imagine if you spread this message and had more, so less kids go hungry. Have a place to rest; sure this might be good enough, but there are others out there who could use someone who cares like you. But, that is all I shall plague you with on that matter. I suppose for now lady hestia, perhaps goddess hestia? I may need some time to think, upon hearing said news I'll need to reflect and think on my actions. As it stands I'm unsure of just whom to make my god or goddess. Please forgive me for indecisiveness. I just don't wish to rush it as loyalty to me means life and death." He'd say now rising to his feet and patting himself down. Hearing her apologize for speaking as she had he'd laugh and wave. It was something he liked, someone who spoke in great detail, someone who said what needed to be said; even if it took some time. He often did so, as a point made is better than points left unsaid. "Well I bid you farewell Lady Hestia, I may need to swing by some time to help out, whether you're the one I choose or not. No sense in punishing the children. I look forward again when our paths cross. again." With that he'd bow and exit the orphanage returning to the duty he'd been set with making his way back to the trading district to confirm the success fo the shipment and let him know the money was delivered to the orphanage. Looking back he couldn't help but smile. Although she most likely wouldn't be his choice it was good to know her heart would always be in the right place and the kids had someone who truly cared about them and for that she had his admiration.
