Simon Volkner Whose up for a bad time? Not but a few days had passed since Simon's fateful reunion with his dearest young brother, Zazue. Having partaken in a multitude of odd jobs following his eviction from House Volkner, he wasn't against doing what had to be done in order to survive. That being said, whilst his brother partook in his own quests, he decided it was time to get back on the saddle. First things first though; he had to reacquaint himself with the dreary chasm that was the Tower of Babel. With hands in pockets, the groovy cat strode along the path. He couldn't understand why humming tunes to himself made the journey easier-- music drove him, inspired him, soothed him. Waking up to a world in which survival was not guaranteed regardless of your social or racial standing? It was hard to not mentally deconstruct without it. Moving forward, Simon found himself approaching the Tower of Babel's entrance; a young girl accompanied by an older woman handing flier out towards any adventurer who'd take them. "What's this? Someone advertising for a shop or somethin'?" He questioned, now a short distance from the young girl. Grasping the crudely drawn image in hand, he immediately felt drenched in hesitation. "A teddy bear, huh?" The survivalist within him felt obligated to ignore her frustratingly stubborn behavior. " Why should anyone feel inclined to help some runt find an easily replaced toy? " He thought to himself. However, at the same time... An image of Ra appeared deep within his consciousness, the words "Do good for your people, Cattle. We are not gods of malice, spread the joy of my holy word." He clinched his fists "Damn that Ra...I've been fine up until now. Suddenly, I'm engulfed by the desire to help those around me." Ultimately giving in to his divine intervention, he knelt down and gazed into the young girl's eyes; a soothingly calm smile now stretched across his visage. "Ey there little one, what's up with this teddy bear, huh?" Just as the young girl opened her mouth to speak, her mother interrupted; her words sharp like a jagged edged knife. "My daughter accidentally packed her teddy bear into my husband's bag when he went dungeoneering. When he was back, he claimed to have lost it inside the dungeon to the hands of a rogue Goblin. If you could get it back, I'd greatly appreciate it..." Simon rubbed his chin, gradually returning to his feet as he looked towards the mother. "Is that right now? That's quite an unfortunate circumstance for this young girly's teddy, isn't it?" A bit of his sarcastic side exuded from his words as he spoke. "The father must be great with holding on to precious items, no? He should look into a supporter or something, prevent that happening." Now gaining an agitated expression, just as the mother reached forward to lay into Simon, they were both interrupted by an unfamiliar voice. "I'll be sure to bring your bear back, don't give you mom a hard time in exchange ok?" OOC @Hinabi I hope this works for an intro.
Serenity awaits "I'll be sure to bring your bear back, don't give you mom a hard time in exchange ok?" Hinabi’s tone was gentle as he slowly approached the group. He felt bad having listened to their conversation without making his presence known but he was not going to let any conflict rise if he could avoid it. Sky blue eyes looking down with a toothless smile towards the girl to avoid her getting any more scared than he could since he was covered in scars. His gaze then set to the male with a gentle wave for them to take their leave, the sooner he could get away from the child the sooner he could yell at the kid for what he had said. ”You know, for someone who seemed to be offering to help you acted out of line for such a thing.” More gentle words as he looked towards the male, his tails flicking around slowly moving his sign ‘tank for hire, will work as support for 10% cut’ on his back to let more people see it and not just those behind him. His staff resting in his right hand while his left held a small support bag. He truly seemed like a gentle giant if you avoided the chains and scars across his figure. ”Would you mind if i took a look at the drawing sir, this way we both have a rough idea what we are looking for?” His sharp teeth showing as he let the support bag slide across his arm to free his hand once more. Ears twitching slightly at each sound as the got closer to the dungeon, there was going to be a fight no doubt. Hinabi just hoped this male could fight or they would be doomed, the Runarl was against raising his fist unless to defend others around him. Thread type: Closed quest Tags: @Simon Volkner
Simon Volkner Whose up for a bad time? The man was around his height but vastly different in size and shape. He'd been engulfed by scars of a dreadful memory's past, yet warmly smiled while bearing all that pain deep within. See, Simon was unfathomably proficient at judging one's character. All he had to do was get a good look at you and he could tell if he'd like you or not like you. With this man, he was a genuinely good person. Sure, he'd suffered through an immense tragedy; one he wouldn't dare inquire about. Never-the-less, he didn't mean these women nor he any harm. ...Perfect.. just the kind of guy he didn't want to see. Guys like him didn't last long on the field. More than likely, his great loss was probably his own inability to complete a task or save someone at the right time. Guys like him were like Zazue and unfortunately? Guys like Zazue were always the first to go. Regardless of their incompatibility, a job was a job and this man was his partner whether he liked it or not. When the man turned to scold him, he raised his eyebrow as the two ladies made their way out. "Romeo.." He paused "I'll call you Romeo." He gave a sigh and a shrug "Well, Romeo, it's not my fault the kid's father isn't equipped enough to handle a simple stuffed toy. I was just point out the obvious, you dig?" His voice was smooth and laid back "Besides, from the looks of it, until you came along I was all they had left." He took note of the sign hanging from his slimmer frame, scoffing at it before the man asked to take a look at the drawing. From then on it was business, nothing else. "Oh..yeah, here check this out." He held the drawing between the two of them "We're looking at some kind of goblin here, probably in a pack by this point. I know that doesn't entirely slim down our options but this one appears to be wearing flashier clothes than the rest. From this we can assume he's their leader which definitely gives us a more rough scope on what we're looking for." He slid one hand back into his pocket as he held the paper from the center. "I'm thinking we only attack what we need to attack. We can sneak past the rest if we keep it cool and play it safe. We'll wait for a moment to grab the Goblin's individual attention and only take out the others if we absolutely have to." He held out one hand as it glowed a purple hue, the other glowed a light blue. "My first spell allows me to sink an enemy into a pit of Gravity for a good long while but it takes a significant amount of chanting time. You'll have to have my back for that one if possible. The other spell allows me to shoot a basic yet effective beam of arcane energy at an enemy." If they were to work together, he felt it necessary to discuss their abilities prior to entering Floor 1. Once they'd finished this, they'd be aye okay to proceed with the mission. "What about you, Romeo? What kind of arsenal are you packin'?" OOC @Hinabi Let the strategy begin!
Serenity awaits "My name is Hinabi, though a lot of people chose to call me two tails or monster.” Her seemed to have grown slightly annoyed at the male before he spoke again. "Ever heard of keeping your mouth shut if you have nothing good to say?” His peace spoken he looked at the drawing quickly before making it a mental note for later and moving on just listening to the male. He had nothing against the plan, but when asked about his magic his face grew dark. "I have a magic wall spell, and can take a few hits if needed as you could tell. I forbid myself from ever attacking others again so my combat magic will not be mentioned any more then that.” Eyes moving to the sky to get his focus off the matter before looking back to the dungeon, back to his normal kind appearance. His grip on his staff slightly tightening as he could hear the monsters slightly from where they stood. Sometimes being a tank Runarl had it’s perks, you could hear and move to match the movement of the next attack before others noticed it. Decadence and deceit. A fallen world and a broken system. Was it the god's fault for the cruelties and dangers of this world? He honestly didn't know, he honestly didn't care. In time perhaps this intrepid interloper within the world of adventurers would break the divine yolk and see the world remade...yet he was hardly strong enough for such a task. He needed to grow stronger and that required delving and diving into the dungeon. Was it irony then, the finding of a god or goddess that allowed him to steal their very power and then plan to destroy them? Yet if the gods were guilty or innocent the woes of the people were still theirs. This world hadn't been quite the same since their arrival but it had still been theirs. He couldn't blame the people that lived in this world for his or anyone else's troubles. There were monsters out there, of course, thieves and rapists, murders and politicians but today and the next they would not be his enemy. Thus he was left with the option of helping others for a reward and hopefully growing stronger as he did so. Seeing a small group appear around a young girl Nezuel would grow curious. The high elf wasn't ready to jump to the girl's aid if required, as his magic took some time to prepare, but as he listened from the sidelines it seemed apparent that they were there to help. Deciding it better to delve into the dungeon with a group and earn a reward while building up his strength he decided to approach the two adventurers. "Hello strangers" he'd say, putting on his best fake smile and voice. "I couldn't help but overhear, are you on a quest in the dungeon? Perhaps I could join you, three heads are better than two, right?" @Hinabi @Simon Volkner
Simon Volkner Whose up for a bad time? Despite it being stated one too many times, it'll be said again for the sake of a reminder. Simon is an incredibly proficient judge of character, to the point where he could make a job of it...Why didn't he think of that? Regardless, upon Nezuel's entry, it was as if the hairs on Simon's body all collectively stood up in response. Immediately turning around in a somewhat defensive position, he welcomed the new arrival with an oh-so-vile glare. Something about the man seemed off.. something about him wasn't to be trusted. "You want to join us, huh?" He couldn't quite let go of the mans piercingly blood red eyes. Bearing them in mind, he began questioning him as he'd done to everyone else. "What purpose ya got travellin' with us?" He was on higher alert with him than he'd ever been with Ra "Ya wouldn't be wantin' to try anything fancy.. would ya?" As he looked to Hinabi then back to Nezuel, he spoke in a light tone before turning around. "Lets lay the track, jack. My friend over here is gunna determine if you're comin' or not comin'. He deems you worthy? You're more than happy to join us." His eyes narrow "He deems you dangerous?" His hands begin to light up "Well I'm not turnin' away if you're here to throw down, ya dig?" With that, he began heading inside the dungeon "Don't take too long, Romeo, we've got a little bear to save." OOC @Hinabi @Nezuel I promise Simon is a nice guy! He just has to get to know you first!
Serenity awaits "I got no problems with a third person joining us, good or evil. I'm used to being surprised, and getting stabbed in the back so it does not matter to me.” Hinabi followed behind Simon, his staff tapping the ground every other step shortly after he stepped with his left foot. "Well then again i tend to turn around as the tried to stab my back so guess it would be more i can tell when you plan to attack if you try. And just because i wield a staff i assure you i'm not so easily taken down.” He looked towards Nezuel with a peaceful smile as they entered the dungeon. No matter how many times he had come into this place it was still jaw dropping for him. Sky blue eyes seeming to turn a dark grey in the lighting as he watched the walls and ceiling around them. Left hand raising to his ears to pull out some of the ear wax that usually made it easy to deal with the city area. It was not much of a difference but it helped in crowds or when people shouted at him. "So what formation will we be taking? I can be the front or rear guard if needed.” His right hand moving his staff to his back for the time being as he listened to the sounds more than anything else. Eyes mostly closed as his ears moved around slowly and his tails touched the wall he had his left hand against for some guidance. The belly of a beast was never fun to be inside, and the fact he saw a few torch lights was the reason he kept his eyes closed, but it was rather hard to tell he was afraid of something with his relaxed smile and even breath. It seemed, by the way the two of them looked and by the way one had a staff and ones hand lit up, that they were both mages of a sort. He'd debate with himself later about the advantages and very large disadvantages about going into a very dangerous dungeon with a party that was mostly incapable of physical battle...yet that wasn't exactly the case with Nezuel. "If he deems me dangerous I'll consider it a compliment....but it is much more beneficial for me to come with you if I was such." he'd turn towards the Runarl. "I too am acquainted with those I know stabbing me in the back. Regardless I shall not do so as long as long as you agree not to as well, agreed?" With that taken care of the party of three could actually enter the dungeon and continue on their merry, and possibly suicidal, way. Since he had stopped talking to the Runarl, however, Nezuel had been silently chanting to himself. It was apart of a rather long spell that he tended to cast before entering the dungeon. For some reason he had forgotten to do so today...he only hoped the two others in his group didn't interpret it as him attack as he couldn't stop chanting to clarify. Perhaps from the way his hands and staff were never pointed at them would give them a bit of ease as direct magic and damage dealing magic usually required some sort of gesture. Eventually, when he was done with the spell casting, a hand would arise from a magic circle in the ground. It was a husk, an undead human clad in rusty armor with a singular sword it held in its right hand. "I present to you Raime." the necromancer/summoner would say, indicating the undead being. "He can take the front guard...hes quite...tanky." @Hinabi @Simon Volkner
