Danger's disguise (Closed quest)

  1. Danger's disguise

Hinabi was no stranger when it came to people moving away from him when he approached. He after all , was a rather scary looking Runarl due to his scars and sharp teeth. He was however, slightly distraught by the old man’s agility and appearance. He had originally approached to offer help since he could smell fresh blood, but now felt more compelled to figure out who could have caused such damage to a human’s mental state. A rather troubled and pained gaze set in his sky blue eyes as he looked to the mortal then towards the direction he had pointed.

There was little Hinabi could do on his own, with his policy to never lift his fist again unless to protect the one closest to him that was still alive he needed some fighters incase the beast could not be subdued with wearing it out of energy. His eyes scanning for others that might have taken interest in the old man’s current state and be willing to help out with making wrongs into rights for the fellow mortal. There would be no words from the Runarl as he nodded to the old man and walked back to his small corner to get his belongings.

The first item held by a rope was his ‘Tank for hire, can work for support for 10% cut.’ sign, while the second held with his other hand was the large staff he used for a magic medium. There was little he brought with him, since most things he ever got went to others that needed it more then himself. He set the rope to hang the sign against his back before picking up his small support bag. Inside he kept only a roll of bandages and a emergency fire kit he refused to use. Taking a deep breath Hinabi go ready to talk to anyone that might approach him or the old man seeking to help out. A rather scary look crossed his face sadly, he was not good with people just yet.

  2. It was only fortunate Kessler was on the job as a member of the city's watch at this moment in time as he heard the man's cries and frantic voice. His brow knit knowing that something was surely wrong, but he was not one who'd move unprepared after all. Dressed in a simple jacket and pants that let him move freely, his belt was secure and his coiled length of rope hung just far enough to be available but not in the way. His small stores of medicated bandages were held in his jacket pocket, but most importantly his gauntlets and grieves were in particularly good shape compared to the rest of his equipment.

They shimmered with a warm light, the metal was beautifully etched with a variety of intimidating designs, and they conformed comfortably to his lower legs and arms. H-Grade equipment, it was his first time using such expensive things, but since Amaterasu had been so worried about him after seeing his injuries, she didn't let him go out with his usual equipment any more. Approaching the old man and Hinabi he reached a hand out to the intimidating supporter's shoulder with a friendly and bright exxpression. "Ah-- Looks like someone else got here first?" He said overflowing with pride and happiness seeing people helping other people, as if he didn't understand that Hinabi might have been rejected for his appearance. For some reason the man's appearance didn't seem to 'click' with Kessler, as if he couldn't see Hinabi's appearance but only see him as a person he glanced from him without a second thought for how he looked, and turned towards the man reaching an armored hand out with a great depth of concern and worry for him.

"Sir-- Sir, please, it's alright. Just take a few breaths, here, I have some medicine for your injury, but you need to tell us exactly what happened." He tried to caution, in case the man didn't take him seriously or looked down on him for his small stature, Kessler turned his lapel up on his coat flashing a small badge as he spoke. "See? I'm a member of the guard-- I just want to know what's going on and I promise I'll take care of it the best I can!" He said with a hopeful expression, as if he was practically radiating out sunshine, Kessler was someone who would never know or feel despair, as if those dark or sad feelings couldn't penetrate his bright exterior, he waited patiently for the man to explain to him the details of what transpired.

    Whose up for a..confused..time?

Another day another dollar they always say, that was a saying that vibed with Simon on a very personal level. After managing to survive another night, he took to the streets early morning and began making his way to the guild. He figured if he could get there earlier than the rest he'd be able to snag a decent quest instead of take on all these odd jobs like the ones he had been recently. Of course, as he'd reached the inner city, he was met with an unusually loud yet frightening scream. Thinking he'd be able to grab a couple bucks of the corpse, he made his quickly made his way to the scene.

"Awe man, you've got to be kidding me!"

Before him was a badly beaten up old man, the mark of terror staining his visage. He appeared to be in a hurry as his body wouldn't stop shaking, he also couldn't shake the habit of covering his bases. Yup, there could be no doubt about it.. this old man was running from someone; or some thing for that matter. Now, beyond all of that, Simon wasn't upset at this fact, no. What upset Simon was who he was with. "How do you and I keep ending up in the same place?"

You guessed it! Before him was none other than the casanova himself, Hinabi. Now, Simon hadn't minded Hinabi's company at all. In fact, out of all the people he'd traveled with, Hinabi was the better suited to travel with. It's just the simple matter that Simon couldn't engage in any of his normal shenanigans with such a kind hearted goodfellow like him around. Due to the time they'd spent together, he developed a sort of trust and respect for him. That being the case, he knew Hinabi would be more than pissed if he saw him robbing some old dude.

"You know what, man? We should just form a team or somethin' if we're going to be runnin' into one another this often. Give me some kind of way to contact you or somethin'." Lightheartedness aside, he suddenly paused as he turned to see an unfamiliar face. Pointing to him with his thumb sticking out of a closed fist, he cocked his eyebrow to the goody twoshoes persona and spoke in a calm tone. "Whose the new kid? I don't recall you bein' friends with any boy scouts, Hinabi."

The boy seemed lanky, not entirely what you'd see when you envisioned an adventurer...It was those kind of people you should fear most of all. Keeping that in mind, he looked to the old man then to the others. "So, anybody want to explain what's got this old man's undies in a bunch? Who damaged him..or what?"

  4. Danger’s disguise

"I’m either here mid day, or nowhere near this town. I’m not exactly a welcomed sight as you might have figured out by now Simon.” He shined a pained smile before looking to the other person who had arrived to help the old man. "I only just met the boy, but the old man claims a monster attacked him and he lost his stuff while getting away. That is all I know sadly.”

Hinabi shifted his sign with his tails for a bit while tapping his staff impatiently. He wanted to start moving, he had a lot of repair work still to finish back at his familia house and there was no time to waste idly standing around when he had enough information to work with. He was reckless, but a tank like him could afford that slight reckless side he had. His gaze slowly shifting over his right shoulder as he tapped his staff again louder then the times before. "Well then, who is ready for a defeat and rescue mission?” A foolish grin crossed his face as he kept the slightly louder tempo of his staff slamming like he was building up momentum.

  5. Kessler couldn't help a weary chuckle at being called a goodie two shoes, it was an apt description in some ways, but Kessler didn't exactly view himself as critically as the other man seemed to. Instead, he scratched a hand through his hair with a measure of confusion at exactly how he should try to respond. "Erm... New Kid? I'm not exactly a kid any more." He admitted with a bitter laugh, despite his size and appearance he was at least 19, not exactly a child, but not really grown either. Though he shook those thoughts off before finally heaving a heavy sigh knowing that he should probably give a more formal introduction if these two knew each other.

"I'm Kessler Cole, Part time Adventurer and member of the town's Watch." He explained, he went into the dungeon as an adventurer whenever his supporter was free, and the rest of his time he worked in the city as a guard. Though brushing a hand through his hair, he wondered if he should explain a bit more, he was rather notorious for being a peculiar hit or miss fighter in a lot of ways, but there were few who denied his ability since he was one of the very few who fought with his hands and fists. "I'll represent the guard here, if you guys want to go, I can't let it happen alone since this attack is an issue of the town as well." He admitted with a kind expression knowing that at the very least, he couldn't let the pair go alone without some help.

As it turned out Simon wasn't particularly wrong to be so aware of him though. His short and meek stature was largely due to his friendly nature, he was still one of the three monster rookies that charged through the dungeon. "At the very least, together we should be able to deal with whatever comes." He said bringing his armored hands together clearly ready to get going on this mission, whether the other two were or not he wasn't certain, but he couldn't let this go too easily now that the safety of civilians was at stake. "It was last seen heading towards a cave... It would probably be best if we started our search there."
