WAIT BEFORE YOU DO THAT GO HERE AND MAKE A IC ACC FOR YOUR CHARACTER Poop. I named my OOC account after my character or I didn't spell it right or I forgot to capitalize, what do I do? Just click here, my friend. There, now: CLICK ME TO GO TO THE CHARACTER CREATION BOARD! SCROLL DOWN TO THE NEXT POST IF YOU'D LIKE SOME HELP WITH YOUR CHARACTER APP. Well, there's always the choice of asking people in the cBox for help or going to our discord and asking people for help. However, if you don't know what to put for the biography that's ok, just make a decent effort at something simple and then you can go back and edit it later as you learn more and get more comfortable with your character. Awesome! Once you've done all this, you're good to go. Whether you're a God needing to make a Familia or you're an Adventurer looking for a Familia: Familia Management Board (Keep in mind that you don't HAVE to make or join a Familia right away. Character CreationSTRUGGLE WITH YOUR CHARACTER NO MORE! Overview So you're stuck on making your character and fleshing it out to all that you desire it to be? Never fear, I've got your back. Below I'll be explaining something that I like to keep in mind when I go into my character creation process. Some things may not ring with you, but just keep in mind that these are all suggestions and things to keep in mind! So don't beat me up too much for my opinions! ಥ⌣ಥ A lot of times people also make characters and then realize that they don't wanna RP that character after they've made it. I'd like to enlighten you on things that I do to ensure that that doesn't happen and you make a character that is going to please you after you've been accepted and don't feel lost once it has. Just hear me out, I'm not as stupid as I look, I promise. Before we get started, I just wanna say this. IF YOU'RE NOT ENJOYING YOURSELF WHILE YOU'RE MAKING A CHARACTER THEN YOU AREN'T GOING TO ENJOY RPING THE CHARACTER, PLAIN AND SIMPLE. So if you don't like what you're doing, stop and start from the top. There is nothing wrong with starting over if you don't like it, because in the end you're going to not like the character and end up abandoning it and starting fresh anyway. So take your time here, and if you need to take a break and watch an anime. Anime always gives me muse for character creation. It sparks idea for me. The Basics Ok, so some of you might think I'm going to start with the name and stuff like that. Wrong. I'm going to start with a Face Claim, I always start with a Face Claim. As when I find the right one I always feel as though I get this overall sense of where I want to head with this character. The look of a character can do a lot for your muse as well. So yeah, lemme help you find a Face Claim that suits your needs! So the place I personally like to browse on is http://www.zerochan.net/ if you have some ideas in mind for what you're looking for all you have to do is type in a key feature and it will give you a plethora of choices. Don't be afraid to spend A LOT of time on this as your character's appearance is something that will stay with them for a long time. So just type in a hair color or even an anime that you like. Even a body style and see what you get. If you didn't find something you liked you can always go to http://deviantart.com/ and try to do the same thing. Though here you can find original artwork of people's OCs. You can type something like _anime_ OC or samurai OC or warrior OC and it'll give you a lot of choices there as well. Somethings to keep in mind while you're search is: Does this Face Claim set the tone for how my character will act? Can I create a personality that I am able to RP with, with this character? Is this character good or evil? Do they look like an Arms type, Mage type, or Hybrid? What race do they look like? (Remember just because the FaceClaim is human does not mean they have to be human! Words can be used to expand the look of your character!) If you still can't figure something out... well... you're screwed. No, just kidding. Just ask us in the cBox or Discord and we can help you out. This stands for everything from start to finish. Everyone here is here to help you and never feel discouraged to ask. Alright. So now that you've gotten your Face Claim let's move on. NAME! Of course, your character needs a name. Typically we like to keep things traditional with the whole First name Last name thing. However, if you'd like to choose an alias then go right ahead. Nobody is gonna badger you for doing so! Though having an overall identity is always nice. Just not required. The easiest thing I can tell you for this if you're struggling is to google "Japanese names" "Japanese surnames" or whatever type of last name you wish to find. That's what I always do. Don't be afraid to be creative and just google translate a word and then put your own spin on it. That's how I got the name, Bera! :P AGE! See? This is why we did the FaceClaim first because now this part is easy. If you can't figure this out... delete your account. Jk, just think about it harder. SEX! Don't be that guy that puts yes please. You're better than that. Anyway, this is strictly biological. You're allowed to self-identify your character however you want in the personality section, but keep this part right here legitmate. If you're a God that can shift between genders than make this known here, be sure to put their dominant gender, though. SEXUALITY! Alright, now you can put yes please if you just want all of them. Just know you're including pigs, horses, cows, guinea pigs, and newly born kittens when you say this. There's a plethora of different options here, I can't really guide you to what you should put. So just figure it out. RELATIONSHIP! This is rather simple, also. All you gotta do is put what kind of relationship they are in, if any. If not put single. Ok? Next. APPEARANCE! This portion is not shown on the app and just has a sentence saying you can or can't put this here. However, going back to what I said before on the whole adding features thing. If there is anything you want to add that can't be seen in the image to the right then add something here if you feel like it. Personality ALRIGHT. THIS ONE IS A DOOZY. That's alright though I'ma ask you some questions that might help you figure this out and then give you some tips to flesh it out. Remember, everything I say is a suggestion not required. This is only a paragraph so it shouldn't be too hard, but if you want to stay engaged and interested in your character I'm going to try to make it easy for you to do so. WHY!? HOW!? These are the questions that you need to be asking yourself all the time. Just create scenarios and ask yourself why your character would do that or how they would react. What is the featured persona that stands out the most in your character? Give an overall gist of the character to start off with. Their main trait should reflect here and then you can list some other traits that branch off of this. What does your character think about war or peace? Do they thrive in battle? If they do, then why? If they don't, then are they a coward or do they just choose to be indifferent? Why? Is your character serious? Perhaps even whimsical? Maybe they like to keep things serious when its needed and then the rest of the time they are rather playful or a jester. Maybe they're just a straight up loon all the time. What does your character think about certain races? Did something in their history cause them to hate the Runarl? How long has this been like this, and are there any exceptions? You can keep asking yourself questions like that for days, honestly. It's rather easy to do, really. I do have another approach to this. Take 3 positive words and 3 negative words that you are going to have to figure out anyway. Alright, now embellish. When you're writing these small embellishments about your character be sure to think if there are exceptions as most people aren't always going to be super strict about every single thing. Your character can be happy, but at times they can be sad. Your character can be serious, but if they start drinking they start to loosen up. You can go so far in depth with little things like this that it will take no time to write a paragraph and you'll start to get muse and an interest in your character and your fingers will just keep typing away. Another thing that I like to do here is add a little bit of myself to their personality. That way, when I get into deep topics I can use this to make writing more interesting to me, because this is how I actually feel about this subject or something. I don't know how to explain entirely. However, if you do this do not attach OOC and IC. Just because your character is similar to you does not mean you are that character and people are just attacking you.
