    quest Establishing Dominance

    Difficulty: Medium
    Party Size: 6
    Minimum: 5

    Location: Norfova
    Season: Summer

    Norfova.

A land that has lost a great deal of itself to the curse of the hemomancers. It is a land of desolation and corruption. Filled with beasts and monsters that have lost their restraint entirely and now act in sheer aggression to everything that moves into their territory. Few can survive this land for long and it is here in this forsaken land that he Cult of The Black Star will create their base of operations. While it is perfect for their Dark Descender's current needs. It also brings all of the problems that such a region would have. The natives of this dead land will not take kindly to their presence nor allow them to build undisturbed.

Obviously this is a problem that needs to be dealt with....

    Objectives

    • Clear the area of resistance. Eliminating the monsters in the general area of the Guild Halls future construction.
    • Undue any remaining curses left by the blood witches that may cause problems for the cult.
    • Subservient as many of the native creatures to the darkness as possible. Resistance=death.

    DC 240
Highest non-default modifier: +5 per mastery tier (excluding beginner; but +10 for expert).

Anyone with Alchemy can benefit from +10 per relevant tier (if they use it instead of their highest Mastery). Alchemist can coagulate blood and cure some blood sickness.
    Instruction:
    • Everyone in this guild gets ONLY one reply (min 200 words)
    • Everyone must roll a d100 at the end of their post.
    • The entire guild needs a combined dice roll totaling the DC above to succeed this mission.
    • There must be 6 rolls total. It doesn't matter who rolls, so long as they are part of the guild.
    • You have 5 days to complete this mission from the time of this edit. 7/31

  2. After having been recruited during the end of the raid, Daren's missions had taken quite an intriguing turn. The guild leader of the coven told him that he wouldnt be seeing much of the guild due to his future duties but his job would be quite important later on down the road. So for now she simply wanted him to train up and learn more about the land known as Norfova. So far he had learned that many of the monsters and npcs within this territory were either dark or grey. Which meant that any npcs here knew about dark magic. Something that encouraged Daren to actually look around and try to gather actual information.

So here he was, walking toward the meeting area when his eyes had spotted a group of monsters just nonchalantly wandering around. Intrigued by this, Daren silently followed them until they began to circle around. When they had they had obviously spotted Daren. Chuckling, Daren had actually prepared a holy attack and sent it straight at them. A few of them had easily dodged but the ones in the middle weren't so lucky. Tsking loudly, Daren launched a secondary attack before getting a message saying that the COVEN would be trying to establish dominance in this area. That was good, it meant they could effectively control the monsters, quests, and npcs here. With a smile, Daren got far more serious now with this fight. What he had hoped was only one attack turned into four in order to get rid of these monsters.

Shrugging the man then began to walk around more, this time in a circle around the place that Merkaba had decided would be where their guild hall would be. With a smile he waved at the first person to arrive other than him; seeing he was the first there somehow.

Leon really didn't like Norforva. Maybe it was because of the drab scenery or that lingering bad feeling that whirled in his gut every time he took a step in the barren wasteland. Maybe it was because he had a job to do here and couldn't simply back out, waltz away, and go nap under a tree somewhere (there were no suitable trees to sleep underneath in Norforva). Either way, the truth remained that he simply didn't want to be here and, with those sentiments, he found himself hurrying to dispatch the grisly monsters that lurked around in an attempt to complete this mission as fast as possible. It was a shame that he had to actually work for the promised room and board from the coven but it was a small price to pay for some comforts and rest.

"Avada Kedavra!" he twirled his finger and shot a potentially lethal bolt at one of the monsters lurking around. It was a small critter that didn't seem dangerous in any sort of way and singing its fur and roasting its flesh seemed a bit like overkill. Regardless, it didn't really effect Leon in any capacity so he simply strolled around for a while until he found one of his guild mates. Dave? Daniel? Daren! He clacked his tongue against the roof of his mouth when he remembered the man's visage and name. He wasn't all too familiar with him but he had seem him on the roster before and promptly returned his wave with a lazy, nonchalant slowness. Everyone on the guild seemed to have their own agenda so he'd have to be wary but there was no need to turn down a friendly wave, right? "Hey there," he grunted, feeling his voice crack from disuse before falling silent once again.

He hoped the short man (he seemed to be a good feet or two smaller than Leon, although he couldn't make out the exact measurements without a tool or some sort and his view may have been distorted by the distance between them) wouldn't oblige him in a conversation. He already had clean-up duty regarding the monsters around here and he'd rather not socialize beyond standard greetings and farewells. He sighed. This was all way too troublesome.

  4. Earley do this! Earley do that! Earley go and spy on the silly nobles so that I can expand my dark kingdom to fit my ever inflating ego! Earley go look for temples to explore dark powers I couldn't hope to actually master, while giving you nightmares about fucking elder gods! Earley, which skulls of my enemies should I decorate the patio with to impress the neighbors? Earley! Earley! EARLEY!

He growled, trudging through the desert landscape that would be their new home, watching as others fought monsters or dealt with complications in the area. Why had he joined this guild? Rein was a madman that only cared about cutting people apart and playing in their cadavers. Rook was... Rook. There really was no explaining that eeer... person, now was there? They talked in something that was half riddle and half parable, while simultaneously being interesting and infuriating. Leon and the new kid, Daren, were unknown quantities that he suspected were of no quality what so ever. The name Tharen was whispered time to time, but he'd never SEEN the man, now had he? And Seto? Oh, Seto. That man was something else entirely.

But the strangest of their bunch was their esteemed dark lady, the Dark Descender, the Mistress of Pain, the Goddess of Horror, the Lady of Lamentations, the Great Kiss My Ass of gothic lolita hot topic proportions. Eternal Dragon Guardian of Time. Merkaba. She had no interest in an actual kingdom or guild, from what he had seen. She was a child playing with toys too expensive and delicate for her clutching hands, and she was breaking them one by one. He vowed to himself he would not be one such casualty in her crusade; he had joined only to grow his own power and skills, not to be a corpse at her altar. But the time for leaving was not now, and so he played the obedient dog. Wandering the wastelands around their soon to be home, using his magical abilities which were focused upon magic itself, to search for remnants of wards and curses placed upon the land. He encountered several, and each time he found one it was like an intricate puzzle in need of solving. Some were a simple matter of severing the right ethereal wires. Some, a little brute force was applied to crack them in half. Others were far too complex, and so he merely circled them with rocks and twigs to let others know the danger was still present, before moving on to the next.
