  1. After Rory was plugged in, and spending a couple of hours messing with the character creator, decided to make himself. After creating himself it all went white and slowly turned to black. He was scared, he couldn't open his eyes, was wasting disease affecting him even in a virtual world? He slowly tried to move his arm...and it moved! It actually moved fine, no shakiness or weakness at all. He planted both arms on the ground and pushed himself up, sand falling off his face and part of his chest.

He awoke on a beach...face first in the sand, he saw the forest in front of him, to his sides were just white sand with lapping waves. He heard the birds and the waves. Wow, this was really realistic. He went to stand and tripped falling face first, apparently it was going to be harder to move thoughs. He flipped himself over to his back and slowly pushed himself up. He was wobbly, but he could do it. That's when he heard the howl of wolves from the woods as a flock of birds broke through the branches. He took a gulp and turned away from the howling and started a slow wobbly walk away from the noise. Cursing himself for his weakness, wishing to run instead of clumsily walking away from perhaps his doom.

  2. Ahh nothing beat the the fresh sea air of Brisshal. Janne thought to himself as he sat on a sun soaked rock near the beach. There was really nothing better to do during the daytime anyhow. With the caws and the sounds of flight behind him Janne was pulled from his day dreaming. Would seem like somthing spooked em bad. Oh well It was getting somewhat dark and Janne needed to get to work soon anyhow.

It was then he noticed a man very calmly walking in the opposite direction of a distant wolf howl. As Janne Squinted closer he noticed the man walking in his direction. Ironic it seemed like the man had just spawned in. He wasn't here when Janne arrived and he would have noticed him otherwise. Hard to think that he himself had started off in a similar matter. Janne stood up on the rock. His bright green jerkin would stand out among the other colors as he waved and yelled to the man.
Hey You, Yeah you get over here before the wolves decide to pick up the pace.
Janne Would offer a helping hand to the man to climb onto the rock with him if he decided to heed his words. After all wolfs where pretty shitty climbers, and he did have a bow so if they did come around he could pick em off.

  3. Rory continued his walk, sweating a little bit as the approaching wolves, especially since they sound so close. Thats when he saw that green thing in the distance and barely, just barely hear what he had to say. He bit his lip as he started a very, very clumsy jog. He tried to tell himself that his legs work fine, but they were the first things to go during his real life wasting state. He slipped in the sand, almost taking a face plant, but instead doing a roll back up. He stopped biting his lip and chanced a look behind him after his unfortunate mess up. Apparently wolves are actually pretty big. Thank god it was only 3 but they were coming out of the woods, one locked eyes with him, obviously looking for a meal.

Rory whipped his head around and began to run, it looked incredibly goofy, like someone fighting against his own legs as he ran for perhaps his savior. He heard a wolf bark and more running behind them as they threw sand in the air. They were almost upon him, but Rory was almost to the rock as he took an awkward leap toward the man going to grab his hand as his face smashed into a rock. If he grabbed it, he would use his arm as a lift for himself up on to the rock, where he would grab his face in pain for a moment as he stood up a little quicker this time before saying. "Thank you." and looking down at the wolves as they would attempt to jump the rock before sliding down.

  4. Ouch. Janne had to give the dude credit, when he wanted somthing he would get it. Even if it meant face planting into a rock. Janne hoisted the man up. Before taking out his bow and loosing an arrow and letting it fly into one of their assailant's skulls.
The other two wolves took off as Janne hopped down to rip his bloody arrow from the Wolf before offering a hand down from the rock. Damn dude, that looked like it hurt even with the minimal pain setting. Janne then put his bow back over his shoulder.
Strange, wolves around ere are usually lethargic chasing their prey from all of the newbies they eat. Janne said, Maybe they hadn't eaten in a while or maybe not. He thought to himself before turning around to greet the man formally.

No problem, Wolves can be a pain in the ass when you first start. Janne said as he put out his hand for the man to shake. Names Janne. I take it you just started? Im heading to stokbon for some contract work here soon, maybe you would want to tag along so the wolves don't think about coming back for revenge ? Janne said jokingly.
Who knows may even find you a weapon for your self on the way.

  5. After Rory got done rubbing his face (it strangely didn't hurt as much as it should). He saw this guy whip out his bow like a boss and put one down like one to. Rory did raise a brow as the man said something about pain settings? What is a pain setting anyway "Err pain setting?" Rory said as he took the mans hand to get down (he probably would of fallen without it anyway).

After getting down he brushed himself off before noticing his hand after a couple of seconds and grabbing it in a rush with a shake "Rory, and you're correct at my newness. I would also like to come...if you don't mind?" Rory would say and laughing a little at the joke before cocking his head and saying "If you don't mind a question, how does one get equipment here?". Normally he would be embarrassed, but it was this way in martial arts to, the only way to get better is to learn. No matter how hard it is, speaking of which, what was he wearing? He looked down at himself, noticing he was just wearing some sort of cloth shirt with pants, like a servant out of medieval Europe. Damn, Doesn't that hurt the heart eh?

  6. yeah pain settings,
    Janne started to explain.
The normal setting is i think 80% which is the default. The other setting you can go with is the Realistic setting which most people do not use.
He explained as he started walking.
And you are correct i do not mind if you come along, anyways most of the weapons you will find on the side of a road or in a mini dungeon. These are really shit weapons but its better than nothing. Once you get enough gold you can buy one from the shop or if you stumble upon a conflict and see it through you may find a chest of sorts.
Janne said as he took his bow off of his back to show it to Rory.

I got this and the Jerkin im wearing by wandering into a besieged castle. Little bandaging and helping people flee and by the end of my labor a shiny new bow i found. Janne said slightly bragging after all he was very proud of his work. Anyways what did you Spec into? One handed two handed? Ill keep my eyes peeled for a weapon on the way to stokbon. Id recommend saving any money you get from Quest NPCs and buying a weapon first then armor.

OOC: ( we can find you a really bad weapon in the thread that is for RPing only You are gonna have to do an event to get a weapon or save up your gold and buy one from the site shop)

  7. His business in Brisshal was concluded, he had fulfilled his contract set before him by an elder of a village nearby. Since the dissapearance of Merkaba a short time ago, he had decided to go his way for now since he had no master and no objective for sure, it was during this time he was able to supress the weakened beast from within completely although he couldn't use it's power for his own for the time being, that much irirated him greatly. He hade made his way way down a old highway alongside a beach back to the village that hired him. The village he was returning to was an old village that had been there for ages in lore and had been their since the beta, it was small but the people there were friendly towards people they knew including himself and his Alia very well. Walking down the old highway, he noticed two players speaking to each other, he didn't really raise an eyebrow over the two since he was Brisshal after all, the breeding place of new players. One looked like he was a complete noob being without gear or a sword, at least the other one had a bow and some equipment.

Seeing those two on the beach reminded him of the time when he spent time with Alia on the very same beach right after he entered this world after escaping the forest area where he spawned, new players wern't as lucky as them now since they could spawn almost anywhere in Brisshal. He shrugged his shoulders at the two before going on his mary way towards the village. His thought was interuppted however when a large dire wolve dove out of a large shub near the beach and growled at him. This was going to amuzing somewhat he thought to himself as he drew his Odachi out of it's saya on his back. raising his Odachi high in the air, he waited until the beast made a run for him. Waiting for the perfect timing, he brought down a powerful vertical strike right on its head, slamming the blade right on time of the forehead, forcing a critical hit which stopped it dead in it's track's but he wasn't done just yet since the beast was having a hard time getting back up. He switched his handling of the grip with his hands to an underhand grip position on the hilt. Mustering all his strength into his arms, he lowered his blade towards the ground before performing an upper swipe with his Odachi into the wolve's stomach. The impact and momentum of the blade sent the wolve flying some ten feet in the air before it's slammed agianst the cobblestone path. "Well that was amusing" he thought as he sheathed his Odachi on his back, looking down only now did he notice the blood on his ebony armor, he sighed in dissapointment, Emmeline would have to clean his armor later. Looking over his shoulder looking for the wolve's corpse, it had landed near the two players, It didn't matter to him as long as he could return to the village soon.

  11. Rory began to follow the obviously much more knowledgeable player. He furrowed his brows as he listened and struggled to bring the player menu up to look up what else he could do besides change this pain thing. If Rory remembered correctly he just had to make a fist and look at it. He smiled when it popped up and went through the options while listening to Janne. Hmmm he was going to be spending the rest of his life here...so why not make it his real life? He turned his pain on to realistic along with everything else. He nodded in approval before closing it and continued to listen. He rubbed his chin as Janne talked about gear "Gold or dungeons...ok." he said with a nod to himself, he wasn't sure about weapons on a road, but who knows? He heard games have all kind of crazy stuff. "I'm going sword and board with some...armor smithing I think?" Rory said as he struggled to remember what he took.

Like he spoke the devils name the wolf fell right near him. His eyes widened as he jumped away. Rory took a gulp, preparing for another semi-awkward sprint until he noticed it was dead. He took a sigh of relief and looked around for the cause of the dead wolf. thats when he noticed the guy wearing badass armor and a big sword. Rory nodded his head, one day, he'll look semi like this guy. He asked Janne "Who's that guy? He looks skilled, or is geared a better term?"

  12. Yeah good ole sword and board, Or just sword either one is good really. but then again im a bowman so take my sword advice with a very large grain of salt.
It was about this time the wolf landed near them. Janne instinctively reached for his bow before realizing the wolf was, well done dead. he put his hand back as he inspected the player far away who assumingly did this to that wolf. Looks like a player. More of a combination of the two really, if they got good gear then they probably have good skill.
Janne said as he flew up a hand to wave at the guy. Most people in the game have a good head on their shoulders. Haven't got killed by anyone yet so that has gonna say somthing. Mostly because you get a big ass target painted on your back if you do PK
Janne explained. Anyhow we had better get our butts in gear before it gets dark. Im pretty sure thats when the creepy crawlies come out. Janne said again jokingly.
No but once i get you to the city i gotta split. People to steal from and pockets to pick.
Janne said as he started walking again. Also if you are ever looking for work feel free to hit me up. Im in pretty good with the beggars in the slums and somewhat well connected. Janne then fiddled around with his UI menu and proceeded to send Rory a invite to party.

    Invite

Janne feldgrand has invited you to their party. Accept?

    lootroll

Just in case we get lost or separated. Janne added.

  13. Rory listened, and listened well. From what he understood was 1. Sword and board or just swords were common. 2. Good gear=Probably good player. And last but not least 3. Players can kill you, but its highly frowned upon. Rory followed Janne gesture of waving toward the guy as it seemed like the right thing to do, and it seems this guy's semi got it down. Rory furrowed his brows at the sound of tougher monsters at night. Does that mean more loot cause tougher? Or just more painful to travel at night? Rory shrugged, assuming he would eventually find out, especially since this guy was a thief.

Rory's eyes widened as the menu popped in front of his face...OH! This is a party invitation he read about online, where you group with other players. Rory's brows un-furrowed as he finally understood something with out explanation and pushed the circle button, hoping that was the right button before saying "What kind of jobs?". Cause there was no way in hell he was going to steal purposely. About this time he kicked something in the sand, almost falling, but they were going at a slow enough pace that it was just a stubbed toe. At least it confirmed that he had his setting on right. It seemed it was a hilt to something, Rory pulled it out of the sand. Indeed it was a hilt...to the most incredibly rusty one handed sword he'ed ever seen. He was going to frown, but hey, gotta start somewhere.

  14. OOC: Sorry guys, I won't be able to post multiple times in this thread a day

He eyed the player with the bow for a moment, he had looked like a newer player by the looks of his gear but at least he had something to the other player. Looking at the two, they were no threat to him, it was obvious he would easily be able to kill them himself but what one the point of that when they had their uses. Placing his left hand on his neck, he slowly twisted his neck left to right in an effort to release the slight pain in his neck. For only a number of seconds, some large cracking like noise occurred as he walked towards the players. He was going to take that wolve corpse back to the village and use its pelt if it wasn't needed by the local smith. About fifteen feet away from the two now, he crouched on his knees for a few seconds and lifted the dead corpse unto the left side of his back. Using his leg muscle, he pushed himself up and began walking back to the road when
he raised his voice towards the two were still standing there.

"If you two are looking for work, try Dawngrave up the road, that village is always looking for "capable" hands who can the more dangerous jobs done."

He had heard the two talking about gear and work as he approached them, this would be a great benifet to him, them and the village. He would need to take his leave from Dawngrave soon to perform other duties he had to attend as well as gather other information for his goals, these two could, for a time take his place at the village since he wouldn't be there. This would be a great help to the village who always needed help and these two needed money, a place to stay and some gear, they would be idiots to decline an honorable job that was easy. A glimpse of blood called his attention as it rolled down his ebony armor, he let out a simple sigh as he walked himself back to the road towards Dawngrave, Emmerline was definetely going to kill him later now. He could see it now, despite being a maid, she running after him trying to kill him or poision his ale when he wasn't looking. He stopped for a moment on the road before looking back at the two.

"If your not afraid of making an honest coin for today, I can present you two to Dawngrave's mayor. You don't need to worry, there is plenty of work for players like you."

  15. well you know, steal from this fellow give item stolen to another fellow. Its hard to keep up with the semantics of who owned what first. Janne said as he looked at the fellow as he found a sword. See what did i tell ya? Now you can do slightly more damage than your fist. Janne said jokingly. Nah but if thievery isn't your thing i get good ole fashioned find X and kill Y quests all the time, Seems like that would be more up your alley. Janne said as the man from afar addressed them both. Damn this dude looked familiar. He couldn't pin it down but he knew he had seen him some where before.
Not many players had ebony black armor like that and a custom Japanese style sword to boot. Awfully nice of you do to that for us Mr?? Janne stopped speaking hoping the man would fill in the blank with his name. Janne had a place to be already, but wouldn't mind taking a detour if Rory didnt mind to. Being a thief Janne had a sixth sense of who to trust. The correct answer would always total out to zero, Janne hated to judge people on the spot but his bloody armor mimicking somthing a demon would wear wasn't easing Janne's nerves.

  16. Rory scratched his chin as he listened, Rory was glad that stealing wasn't the only way to get stuff in this game. He smiled as he reached for it, picking it out of the sand and examining it. It was really rusty, but it was at least something. He began to listen again and put it awkwardly on his waist as he nodded. Killing monsters sounded more fun and heart thumping then the grief of stealing anyway.

Rory didn't mind what the man looked like, he thought he looked awesome. Meaning, he fought guys with demons and shit on their gi's but demons on armor? Bad ass. Speaking of which, the guy had a sword, a big on at that. Rory was pretty sure it was better than his. Whatever the case, he was offering jobs, jobs=money which equals better gear. Rory winced in his head, it sounded greedy, but it seems gear is an important asset in this new world and that type of thinking he would soon put a stop to. "I don't mind work, you Janne?" Rory said bluntly as he turned to his new comrade waiting for his response. He seemed nervous, Rory would be, but whats he got to loss? Not much if anything at all, he turned back to the demon guy and waited, looking around his surrounding for anything, if anything at all.

  17. Seto didn't pay any more attention to the players, he didn't care if they were nervous, confused or both at the same time, If he was a bandit or if his vile side took over, he would have killed them already without a second thought. After his pause on the road, he signaled the two with his hand to follow him into Dawngrave, He continued his way down the old highway again wasting no more time. It was only noon now but there wasn't any point in idling and doing nothing, he was a busy man and there was always work for him to do...at least until Alia returned to him from one of her sessions in real life. The next ten minutes walking down the cobblestone road to Dawngrave was quiet, no travelers, no bandits and barely any birds chirping, Seto himself was silent but that was normal for anyone that knew him, he was a man of few words, only to speak when necessary. During his silent walk, he wondered of these two and what were their plans? the one with the bow had already looked like he had some ill plan perhaps, the other was clueless, just spawning into the world and not having any sort of idea what to do.

After a short walk, Seto walked under the Torii gate to Dawngrave then slowly up the tall flight of stairs, showing the town and it's people in full swing perfoming their daily activities to stay alive. Dawngrave it self was largely based on shinto architecture in layout and it's building. At the front was a Torii gate, then a flight of stairs then came the small guardhouse and a fountain to washe one's hand and face with Toro stone lanterns placed agianst the main road of the town. The first building after the guardhouse was the shrine administrative building with an Emo wooden plague for prayers. Across the road from the Shrine administrative building was the inn next to Massha, a small building that housed different shrines. After the Inn and the Massha came the many common houses the people lived in and almost evey shop you could need from smithing to potions. Although the village is often quiet, it strives when new players enter the game for the first time or stay in the area for the next several hours. At the end of the main road was the Hoden main hall used for worship and resting place of the dead with the mayo's house behind the shrine itself.

Still leading the two probably, he walked down the main road and and upto the smithy that was located near the main drag, he rung the bell and waited a few seconds before the local smith came out.
" Lord Kurama? What do you need?" The aged smith smiled at him with a confused expression on his face, wondering what Seto had wanted, Seto inreturned lifted the dire wolve corpse off his shoulders and plopped it on the counter. "I heard you need a pelt from a dire wolve, your welcome Totsu" He turned around and walked away and sigeled the two to follow him again, not letting the smith get a word in. They walked around the Hoden main hall to avoid any disturbing any worship going on, walking up the wooden steps to the deck of the Mayor's house, Seto knocked four times and waited until an older fellow, an almost skinny and bald man spooke up to Seto, "Oh Lord Kurama, you have already completed that contract? Did you elminate those bandits in the forest too?" He sighed and stepped to his side showing the two he brought back with him. " Not exactly, that contract was easy enough elder but on my way back, I stumbled opon some newcomers. They most likely couldn't kill an ogre but I thought they would prove useful to the village since there always much do?"The old man laughed a little outloud with his arms behind him, he snirked a little before speaking, "Of course Lord Kurama, there always work to do any if these two work hard, I'll pay them and house them for free. Say can these two kill goblins and help our craftsmen stock up my lord?" Seto shrugged his shoulders, "Possibly elder, I leave them in your hands." He looked at the two before walking down the stairs and into the town, "Am going to find Emmerline and take a break before heading out, you two behave now."
