  3. All of the death and devastation… it was hard to be positive about saving so many supplies when they'd lost so many lives in the process. So much had happening that, honestly, the appearance of murderous mushrooms didn't really shock Kyupin out of her gloom.

Jack's shout, however, did that instead.

Fighting sucked. But dying sucked more. She would have time to cry over the losses they'd all experienced – for now, there were still people alive that she could protect. Knowing that, Kyupin knew she had to at least try.

Nocking an arrow into place and pulling her bow to full draw, Kyupin looked around wildly for a target. If they had to keep the fights even, then she would support from afar, trying to keep the balance so others could just focus on fighting. "Eenie," she skipped over the red fungi being occupied by many adventures, "miney," over the green's being thoroughly wiped out by magic, "mo!" Her fingers let loose the tail of the arrow, letting it sail through the air and pierce through one of the blue monster 'shrooms.

She plucked another arrow from her quiver, prepping her next shot and keeping her eye on the next weak spot to be exposed. She sucked in a deep breath, then drew her bowstring taut.

  6. Kaeliel reloaded her quiver with some extra arrows she'd found while hiding from the spores. She breathed heavily now that she had the chance, brushing her hair from her face. Looking about, she saw that most of the remaining elves had survived the poison, which brought a look of relief to her face. The actions of the princess and the druid hadn't been in vain.

Their next challenge now lay before them. Several groups of mushroom warriors- and what was presumably their leader. Stepping up along with some of the other adventurers, Kaeliel raised her bow towards the group that most of the others were fighting- including, surprisingly enough, a girl all in black who'd come out of nowhere. The dark-skinned Yladian raised a hand in greeting to the newcomer before setting about firing upon the mushrooms.

"I agree, we take on the big one," she said. "It's the one that caused those terrible spores, and brought the stampede, correct? We can't let it stand."

  9. With so many people working together all four druids found their way into the back of the cart @Rory Ulric had brought via the Yladian driver he appeared to have been aiding prior. She would have thanked everyone, but there simply wasn't time for it. The massive exodus of elves simply had to keep moving. Not long after they had saved the small group, that had saved them all through their actions, the cloud of spores dispersed and fell away from them. The storm had drawn to an end and Gwyn was more than happy to see it go. She enjoyed battling against the forces of nature, but that wasn't something anyone could fight. Save Oakheart druids apparently and even then was the price worth the reward?

Their group approached the final stretch on their way back to their home, and the newfound one of the elves, when the thunderous steps reached them. From between the mushroom trees she could see the shape of the massive creature the mote of light spoke of. The elf who had cast the thing seemed quite drawn to it for a meal and she could easily admit that it could feed the elves for a long, long time. There was also that fact that she wanted to fight it. She wanted to add that notch to her belt just like the Ancient Vampire Wurm before it. It was going to look like a fucking pincushion when she was done. With a wild grin she cast her vote wholeheartedly and turned to face the approaching Doom Shrooms.

The longbow was pulled from her inventory and pulled up to strike, Nathair's rattling hiss growing louder as he moved closer to defend her as she took up the call of the hunt. She drew back on the bow and aided @Jack Anders against his mark.

  12. It seemed as though there was no end to their plight. There was a brief respite as the spores passed and the air cleared. People began to load up the injured and any goods that could be saved, then set out upon the road again. Astorea was drawing near at this point, separated from them by a massive forest of trees and mushrooms which they moved through cautiously. She waited patiently for the obvious ambush to take place, and was surprised when none came. At the fork in the road, she turned to inspect the massive mushroom monstrosity meandering maliciously. THAT would be quite the prize to take down, and could prove an exciting engagement. Anything that large had to either be protecting something important, or be something important, and important things had a way of getting her attention.

As she smiled and decided the best way to convince others to fight it, a message from Enik popped up, trying to awkwardly coerce them all into the task. Their choice was interrupted by the presence of several smaller mushroom men however, which she began to hurl bolts of malefic energy at. A few of them struck the blue ones, but most of her shots flew wide and vanished harmlessly into the forest. Nearby she saw Gwyn assisting the light-barrier man, while the vast majority ran to engage the red mushrooms. Divide and conquer was an acceptable plan, and so she chose to abide the words of the healer and focus her attention on the blue group further.

  15. As the storm cleared up, they were left with only a couple moments before the next decision had to be made, and Emmeline looked towards the giant mushroom monster to the left with a narrowed gaze. There was no way they were leaving and not taking it down. However, before they could all come to an agreement, 3 monsters jumped in their way, and after quickly deciding which one to fight, Emmeline turned her gaze towards the green mushroom.

She hadn't been playing the game for too long, so she wasn't that powerful, but as she darted towards the monster carefully, feet light on the ground, she found herself surprisingly quick and agile. She let an incantation fall gently from her lips as daggers made of ice formed around her, floating clock wise until she directed them where to go and hit their target. Not very powerful, but she hoped later down the line they would grow to be stronger.

  18. Having tuckered herself out during the futile rush to keep their livestock under control, the tall Yladian found herself limping and coasting along during the sporestorm that washed over the caravan like a tidal wave. With too little constitution left to truly help much, Luvi was left leaning on a fellow Yladian for support more so than helping others in kind.

Once clear of the spores, however, Luvi finally got a much needed breath of fresh air! It was enough to finally catch up to herself, at least. Once she was finally back onto her own two feet, the Yladian stood tall and listened to the elder speaking to her through a mass-broadcasted spell. Truth be given, Luvi felt like a nice meal after all of this would go down plenty well for herself. If the elder believed they could take the myocollosus down, then she would most certainly try! However, before they could proceed down any path to choose, they were already set upon by more robust myomonsters!

In a bad combination of being unfamiliar with 'enrage mechanics' and being a bit of an independently driven Yladian, Luvi went out of her way to ignore @Jack Anders helpful advice by attacking the doom shroom that had seen the most attention thus far! Luvi believed that taking one out before it could do anything too serious was important, not to mention that she spotted what Luvi believed to be an innocent bystander in @Kasumi Kurogami embroiled herself into combat before most of them! Luvi shot a series of sublty enchanted arrows at the monster she chose, snapping her left fingers to activate a small spell that she had cast via her arrows. Though the arrows did some damage, more damage was done via a haphazard fount of life energy, malefic energy forcing its life to seep away as a green cloud.

With the shroom predisposed with her spell and everyone else's attacks, Luvi ran up to the shouting human and pulled out one of her cards. It was a black card with a fluffy white chibi bunny with her ears flattened and a frown. There was text on the side framed by a white cloud which said, "Do you need help?"

  21. Word of the Yladian Exodus had quickly spread among the common folk. Many picked up their weapons, assuming to take some adamant stance about the oncoming hordes of Yladians. The villagers who grabbed the nearest possible pointy object quickly locked themselves inside with it, knowing that this was Player-created, Player-driven, and Player-infested. Many of them wanted to stay far from that kind of trouble. Many were Eudora’s neighbors and acquaintances, whom she watched disappear behind closed doors and shutters. As a follower of King de Falder, she, too, had the urge to retreat back into her home. It seemed practically sinful to imagine herself gearing up with the very same who raised what was thought to be the steadfast Castle Dormont.

And yet here she was, wringing her bow in her hands as she lingered in her front doorway. “The masses coming into to Adecu… Astorea must be driving out the critters. I’ll try to make use of it and get us some food.” She said to her father, attempting to swallow her own pathetic attempt at reasoning. She kissed him on his forehead and headed out, catching the closest traveler who assured her he was crazy enough to go into the fray.

The ride had taken them most of the morning, and as the horse Eudora shared reared at the sight of the fungi bordering the forest, Eudora found herself being jimmied off of the horse. She balked at her compatriot, who looked down upon her with cowardice in her eyes. The traveller gave her a gruff“Yer on yer own, scamp.” before hightailing himself and his horse back in the other direction. Eudora pivoted between the disappearing horse and the mass of fighters and refugees on the other side. No turning back now.

She grit her teeth. She pulled her bowstring taught, and sent an arrow skimming off of one of the leathery surface of the nearest Doom Shroom before sprinting into the Player-lead fray. She had yet to regret her decision. Then again, she had yet to see the Mycollosus looming on the other path leading into the forest.

Legatos Vox stalked the ever expanding group of players and Yladian NPCs. Quietly helping the elves in need but not yet making his presence fully known to the other players. It was obvious from the get-go that this little troupe of theirs were unequipped for the journey that laid ahead, yet he didn't let that stop him from carrying on like everyone else. It was a hard and difficult journey with too many things that went wrong and continued to go wrong.

Calming the livestock and beasts of burden, calming the children and the restless, and don't get him started on the spore storm! Lives were lost despite the player's best efforts but everyone was determined to see it through - even a complete and utter newbie such as himself. Truth be told he had little to no experience with this game - he literally had just started playing nary a few hours ago - still acquainting himself with the game's many facets and controls. But one thing was for certain, Legatos was having FUN. It was greatly rewarding to finally have a chance to destress and enjoy himself - real life tended to be tedious and unrewarding but Terrasphere for little he knew of it - rewarded them for their work. It felt like he could actually achieve something with the right amount of effort! That was satisfying in itself.

The young former actor kept to the group only lagging behind to help the few stragglers who were stumbling behind the rest. For the most part the venture had been easy, too easy. So when they found themselves stopped from their goal by some kind of walking mushrooms known as "Doom Shrooms" Legatos wasn't the least bit surprised. His fellow players kicked into gear almost immediately as spells and skills flew this way and that. Legatos, being a rogue was far less flashy - but his abilities got the job done.

Using his Phantasmia magic he befuddled the Green Doom Shroom with a bit of mental trickery. The creature wasn't very intelligent which worked perfectly enough for him to manage to get a critical backstab from it's rear flank. Slashing into the creature he quickly jumped back as he inhaled the toxic spores keeping an eye on his health and energy that went down slightly. "Ugh, gross..." He muttered covering his mouth out of reflex. Luckily it looked like the trio of mushrooms were all nearly dead...

  28. After the red mushroom fell, Rory turned toward the green and with a mighty yell, he charged it. Rory ran up to it soon as it went to stab him with its spear thing. He blocked it and stabbed his sword into its leg. As it fell to one knee Rory shield bashed the other causing it to fall down making a cloud of spore/dust.

Rory then took his sword and stabbed it into its head, sadly it seemed the mushroom's head was thicker than he thought, but thats ok. To fix the issue he started to slam his shield into the sword, causing the sword to go deeper into the mushroom's head until it stopped moving. He pulled his sword out and turned towards the green, growling at it.

  31. The storm of spores was brutal. It caused far too many casualties. Asuna was about to feel a stroke of terror and grief over the situation. Then she remembered that this was different. It was truly 'just a game' this time. This meant nothing for the NPC but at least the real human beings were not dying. She had to try help keep the game's characters safe though. She wished she had chosen Illumancy so that she could have saved at least some of them. Asuna would have to build her way back up to her status in Sword Art again.

After the noble sacrifice of the Yladia's. Asuna would find herself following the group into a battle with Killer Mushroom Men. With a massive monster called Mycollosus in the distance. It was finally time for real battle. She gripped her sword and accepted the challenge. Thier was nothing better to get one's feet wet after all. In the horde of fighters and mages she thought she saw a flash of steel from a black coated figure. Was it? She did not have time to check because the monsters upon her. She swiftly thrust her rapier forward. Skewering two Doom Shrooms at once. Kicking them off of her blade she made her way closer to what she could only assume was the boss. She never feared death before, so why now?

  34. The mushroom spore cloud finally began to die down, leaving Aceline with a nice coating of hores snot on her face. She was so going to use the gold from this quest to purchase some new clothing, and maybe a bath. Still, the horse was saved, and after a few minutes of working on that tarp, it was clear that the family she was escorting was safe as well. That seemed to not be quite the case for everyone, but there was little time to mourn those who were lost when the source of the spores arrived.

Now, airborne spore she really couldn’t fight, but mushroom enemies? That was more in line with what she had expected to fight. Even if her equipment was dingy and mattered, she would be the flower of the battlefield. It seemed, however, other players had already had the same idea, a horde of them charging forth towards the mob of mini-mushrooms. Wanting to at least have something, she joined the group that was targeting the green-shrooms, which seemed to be of the smaller crowd. One of them in particular seemed to already be gunning for the boss, and Aceline had to give a little grin to that. She had been in the back of the pack this whole time, but she didn’t mind here at the end making the extra effort to shine.

Running forth after @Asuna, skewering a few of the remaining Doom Shrooms with her own rapier on the way, she gave the woman a wink. ”We’ll have to talk shop after this is over. Would love another rapier-user to work with. Kind of my first time using it,” she laughed. ”But looks like that giant mushroom’s going to give me a good chance to use practice.”

  35. DM Notice

We will resume your regularly scheduled destruction in the morning. For now, rest and rejuvenate yourselves, or work on other threads.

Take this time to decide what sort of role your character will play, and to plan things OOC. If you have any of the mastery listed in each of the role, you are qualified to select that role.
    • Tank masteries include shield, guard, geomancy, aquamancy, phantasmia.
    • Support masteries include muse, naturamancy and illumancy.
    • DPS masteries are any melee or ranged martials, evocation magics, malefimancy and astramancy.
Whichever role you select you will be LOCKED INTO for the entire boss fight, so pick wisely!

There are benefits to each role; tanks can soak/negate damage meant for others, supports can heal and buff, DPS bring the boss down faster.

You will be entering with the HP and ENG you have as of your last posts, so bear that in mind. You are not required to participate in the boss fight, but you do not qualify for rewards if you do not participate.
