With the immediate threat dispatched, it was now down to a standoff between the elves and their allies, and the boss mushroom. Most of the group seemed to have resolved to attack, but for now they had time to rest. Kaeliel brought up the game menu to check what time it was back in the real world; it hadn't gotten too late, fortunately. ...The real world, that was right. This was still a game, wasn't it? Ken had played plenty of games with death and destruction on even greater scales than what had transpired during this journey. But still... this felt a lot more real, and personal. Kaeliel wasn't just pixels on a screen, she was right there in the middle of it. Shaking her head in an attempt to banish these thoughts, Kaeliel walked over to one of the humans who had apparently arrived just in time for the battle against the mushroom creatures. At the very least, Kaeliel hadn't seen the red-haired farm girl earlier. "Hello," she said with a smile. "Thanks for your help. We really need all we can get." Was the "we" referring to the players, or the Yladian people? A bit of both, really. "My name's Kaeliel." She offered a hand to the human. @Eudora Bauer
Blood was already surging through Eudora’s ears as she began to nudge her way through the large group hovering at the border of the Astorean forest. The Doom Shrooms had collapsed to the ground, and there was a pitiful scattering of cheers. Eudora’s brow furrowed. Players were known to be hard to please when it came to fighting monsters, never seeming to get their fix fulfilled, but this was measly even for them. Surely they were feeling a bit more victorious than that. That was what Eudora believed until she felt the rumbling beneath her feet. She attuned her ears and followed it back to its source, finding a towering mushroom lurking in the nearby forest. The thunk of her stomach hitting her throat was almost tangible. Someone approached her at that point, forcing Eudora to tear her eyes away from the Mycollosus. A Yladian stood there with a smile on her face. Which was baffling. And yet, as she spoke, Eudora was unsure of whether she was a Player or not. She opened her mouth and attempted to find words, but found none. She swallowed and tried again. ”Yes, well.” She said. Now I’m not sure it was the smartest decision I could have made. She left that part out. The Yladian brought Eudora’s attention back. She had offered her name and a hand. Eudora hesitantly reached out her own and grasped the Yladian’s hand in hers. ”Eu-Eudora. Bauer. I … I was not expecting this when I rode out here. How long have you been fighting?” As much as she tried to keep her eyes on @Kaeliel Arellende, the Mycollosus that preemptively waved its stone sword seemed more demanding. This is what had been provoked. This is what the had to face. It didn’t surprise Eudora that bravery and stupid luck were often entangled in a world like this.
