As the last of the Doom Shrooms which had attacked fell beneath the strength of steel and spell, the roads became safe for travel once again. By overwhelming majority, the adventurers and champions decided to test their mettle against the Mycolossus which stomped around in the nearby clearing, and set forth on the leftward path. The Yladian formation remained behind, too numerous to enter the clearing and assist with the fighting without tripping over one another and becoming victims to the massive creature's attacks. Instead, they remained vigilant for more Doom Shrooms while the outsiders went to claim the Mycolossus as bounty.

Entering the clearing, you note the gargantuan detrivore standing towards the back line of trees, its ridiculously sized stone sword held in hand. On either side of it stand groups of Doom Shrooms. These are colored Purple and Pink and heft barbed spears, which they begin to hurl in your direction as you enter the clearing. All land short, but there can be no doubt that you have gained the attention of the Mycolossus and the smaller shroomfolk beside it.

You must pick a role for this special encounter, put it in at the bottom of the post. This role will stay with you through the entire event.

Do NOT roll until you pick an action, not all action let you roll.

    Role: Tank
Shield, Guard, Phantasmia, Geomancy, or Hydromancy qualify. You only roll if you attack as an action.

Pick one of these actions to use, you can flavor it however you want. You cannot roll the die unless you pick an action that let you (i.e. attack). All tank actions scale off of the tank mastery.

Attack: (cost 5 EN) Roll d100 and add appropriate modifiers, also add 20, then divide the result by 2.

Taunt: (cost 10 EN) Attract the attention of the target to prevent it from targeting other roles and zones. Roll d100 and add appropriate modifiers, then divide the result by 2.

Hold the Line: (cost 20 EN) Requires 3 tanks (including you) to use this powerful ability to cut damage next cycle by half for everyone in your zone. You may not roll.

Rest: (No cost) you rest, recovering 20 EN. You may not roll.

Second Wind: (no cost - passive) If a tank receives lethal damage, they resist the killing blow and come out with 20 HP and 40 EN without Death Affliction. This can only happen once per event. This does not count as a Revive.

    Role: DPS
All weapon mastery and magic mastery qualify. You only roll if you attack as an action.

Pick one of these actions to use, you can flavor it however you want. You cannot roll the die unless you pick an action that let you (i.e. attack).

Attack: (cost 10 EN) You attack as normal. Roll d100 and add appropriate modifiers.

Reckless Attack: (cost 10 HP and 10 EN) You attack with abandon, doing more damage but expose yourself to more danger. Roll d100 and add appropriate modifiers THEN, add an extra +30 to the result.

Berserk: Only for characters with Berserk. You must subtract 10 EN when you enter Berserk the first time, on top of the energy cost of your chosen attack. Roll d100 and add appropriate modifiers, then ADD whatever amount your mastery says below certain HP threshold.

Remember that there are threshold limits to this skill, so if your HP is too high, you cannot benefit immediately.

Rest: (No cost) you rest, recovering 20 EN. You may not roll.

    Role: Support
Naturamancy, Illumancy, or Muse qualify. You only roll if you attack as an action.

Pick one of these actions to use, you can flavor it however you want. You cannot roll the die unless you pick an action that let you (i.e. attack). All support spells scale off of support magic. You can only support people who are in or adjacent to your zone.

Attack: (cost 5 EN) Roll d100 and add appropriate modifiers then divide the result by 2.

Single Healing: base 5 + 3 per mastery tier (excluding beginner, but +7 for Expert and Mastered) = final heal amount. You may not roll.
    • Cost: 2 EN per tier (including beginner).
    • Note: You can heal with any tier below your current level to converse energy.
    • E.g. Adept Heal: 17 HP / costs 10 MP.
    • Note: Tag the person you are healing and write the amount.

Group Healing (max 3 targets): base 5 + 3 per mastery tier (excluding beginner, but +5 for Expert and Mastered) = final heal amount divided by 2 (Round up). You may not roll.
    • Cost: 3 EN per tier (including beginner).
    • Note: You can heal with any tier below your current level to converse energy.
    • E.g. Adept Heal: 17/3 = 6 HP for 3 people / costs 15 MP.
    • Note: Tag the people you are healing and write the amount.
Single Damage Buff: base 5 + 3 per mastery tier (excluding beginner, but +6 for Expert and Mastered) = final buff amount. You may not roll.
    • Buff lasts 3 rounds for 1 target.
    • Cost: 2 EN per tier (including beginner).
    • Note: Tag the person you are buffing and write the amount.
AoE Damage Buff: base 5 + 1 per mastery tier (excluding beginner, but +2 for Expert and Mastered) = final amount divided by 2 (Round up). You may not roll.
    • Buff lasts 3 rounds for 3 targets.
    • Cost: 2 EN per tier (including beginner).
    • Note: Tag the people you are buffing and write the amount.
Revive: (costs 20 EN) Revive someone and put them at 20 HP and 40 EN, with no Death Affliction. One use per Support per event. No character may be revived twice. You may not roll.

Rest: (No cost) you rest, recovering 15 EN. You may not roll.

Passive Regeneration: (no cost - passive) +0.5 EN for every light armor piece and magical tool per tier (round up). This happens automatically at the end of every action the user does.

The status bar in your post should reflect that this energy has been gained after energy costs for casting.

    Modifiers
For this cycle, everyone gets a +5 modifier to their roll per mastery tier (except beginner). +10 for Expert rank.

In addition: If you had Beast Taming (IF you have tamed a beast) or Dual Wielding (IF you are wielding an extra weapon), you ALSO get +2 modifier per mastery tier (except beginner) +5 for expert.

  5. With the last of the pesky Doom Shrooms down, it was time to engage the Grandaddy of All Mushrooms, and by god was she ready for that fight. Though there was absolutely no benefit to it, save bragging rights, she ran well ahead of the rest of the formation and into the clearing. Spears began to sink into the grass and soil about her but none struck her body, and so she ignored them, taking up position to the left of the entrance (zone 6) of the clearing. She needed to remain well away from the dangers the creature all faced, and sling her magical spells from the back lines. She wasn't meant to be NEAR front lines, despite the theory she could tank with Geomancy. No, let the fools take to the front lines... she would cripple their enemies from back here.

    "FIRST BLOOD!"
she screamed in triumph, the gambler and the fool within her causing her to channel malefic energy and send an orb of darkness up into the body of the Mycolossus. Small flames of darkness ate at its soft flesh and she focused in on it with Investigation, noting the drain of its health points.
"Fahrenheit FOUR FIFTY ONE!" she cheered, enjoying the numbers the boss had remaining. What a good omen that this wasn't all going to go up in FLAMES.

  8. She may have decided to work as a supporter, but that didn't mean she couldn't join the fight either! Solaria wasn't used to just standing back when there was danger in a game- in fact, she was still new to the whole 'healer' part in general. Instinctually, she rushed from the back to the frontier, taking on the far left zone.

Of course, while impulsive, she wasn't a total idiot either. While the boss may have been right near her, she wasn't going to attack it- at least not yet. Instead, the strategy in her mind was to get rid of the small fry first. Taunting the doom shroom she'd come to face, she grinned as she made her first move. "You're going down, you stupid mold."

  11. The consensus seemed to align with a fight and Gwyn was quick to turn to Nathair, "Guard." It would be in danger against the massive Mycolossus and she wasn't skilled enough to bring it back. Plus, if more Doom Shrooms arrived she wanted them to have what extra help would be spared. The massive snake coiled near the front of the Yladian's makeshift caravan and lifted its head to keep an eye on the surrounding fungal life in the event any of it cared to make a hostile move.

With that settled, she plucked the string of her longbow to bask the sound of its dangerous hum and ran to join the fight. Upon entering the clearing she huffed at the sight of more Doom Shrooms acting as minions for the larger fungi. "Well fuck, nevermind that shit." How dull. She watched with longing as others moved to strike at the boss, but it would last more than long enough for her to carve out her own portion of its health. For now she needed to get its support down or they'd be taking more than enough damage to be an issue if it was anything like the spawn of the Vampire Wurm incident. Plus, any fight was a good fight so long as the other party also wanted blood. That and pink was an abhorrent color. So abrasive. She whistled sharply with two fingers to her lips, the shrill noise summoning Nathair from their position. With another whistle she bade it move forward after her mark and drew back an arrow. Those little things the anaconda could handle.

  14. She watched as the others plowed forward, ready to tackle the great big boss and its smaller mobs with reckless abandon. "I'm not sure this is... a good idea..." but nobody heard her, and they had already drawn the attention of the giant mushroom creature. Looking over her shoulder to the ragged group of Yladian elves, Kyupin let out one last pathetic whimper before trying to man up. She, too, plowed forward, moving towards the loudest sound in the soon-to-be-battlefield: @Lord Lemming.

There was no way she'd take on the boss and survive any direct hits, so Kyupin focused on cutting down as many of the smaller monsters, hoping to eliminate any distractions before they could get to their main fighters.

Her arrows sailed through the air, piercing a stray pink Doom Shroom, and then another.

As she prepped the next arrow, Kyupin steadied herself. After all, there was not mush room for mistakes in this massive battle.

  17. With a majority of the adventurers having agreed to face the challenge head on, Jack could only ready himself with ever building anticipation. Despite a majority of the players being fairly new faces with lower leveled mastery and equipment, he felt fairly confident that they’d manage to succeed one way or another. After all, that’s what the veterans were for right? A little helping hand for the next wave of players never hurt.

His enchanted lantern at the ready, the man would begin fervently casting. Lips mumbling at an alarming pace, a strong surge of holy light washed over a particular ranger he had grown acquainted with. Though her luck perhaps wasn’t the best, her skill set and ability to cooperate would appeal the most to this dark haired support. As such, he’d help average out her numbers a bit more.

“Try to not miss, Gwyn! This thing’s a lot bigger than that racist slave hunter from before.”

He’d stick his tongue out teasingly while laughing at the unfortunate damage dealer. Afterwards, he’d refocus his attention back towards the remainder of the ground in an effort to help coordinate their attacks.

“Tanks split up – try to get one to agro each side pack. Supports start buffing! Buffs don’t overlap, so pick someone who could use some love instead of stealing someone else’s love! Stay spread out for any area effects!

Might wanna try keeping the side ones alive for now if the damage output isn’t too heavy. The big one might go berserk if we kill its pals off.”

Legatos quickly moved to the right ignoring the boss in favor of helping deal with the smaller enemies. It wouldn't do for them to get sideblinded after all! With a quick if clumsy strike of his sword he sliced into the pink mushroom monster with relative ease. An eager and excited grin on his face he felt uncharacteristically giddy. Though he gave no external expression. Hm, and it seemed he wasn't the only one gunning for the Doom Shrooms. "Let's see how this goes... shall we?" He muttered to himself, amusedly.

  24. Beating the first few enemies didn't take too long, and soon enough they were heading onto the big boss that had been voted on for the group to engage or not. As Emmeline had decided on yes, she found herself mentally preparing for this fight as they got closer. It was her first big boss fight since she joined Terrasphere. And honestly? Part of her was excited to kick some ass.

As she approached closer, one of the more senior adventurers, the one from earlier, spoke up as to direct them what to do. She nodded as if agreeing with him, even though he couldn't see her nodding, and jogged over to the side, focusing on the big boss so they wouldn't accidentally activate an enraging mechanic if she helped attack the smaller ones. Then, she began to cast her spell, but not a basic one this time- This time bigger and better.

As she tossed out ice shaped like daggers from her hands, lips pulled into a straight thin line and eyes narrowed with focus, she successfully hit the monster and did some damage. However, her attack was so big she ended up hurting herself in the process. Pretty reckless, right?

  27. Avalon’s eyes scanned the path that the elves and adventurers took to leave for Astorea. Much to her chagrin, she was a bit late for the party – monstrous mushroom corpses littered and decorated the ground ironically matching the large and unmoving mushrooms of Esuillus. As the distance between her and the group decreased, Avalon’s eyes could finally see a giant doom shroom in the distance armed with a proportionately large stone sword. The rogue sped up to reach the Yladian forces just before the path divergence.

Without a word, the woman turned on to the left path in order to follow those who chose to slay the Mycolossus and claim it as bounty. Her masteries were very much zero, as she only started the game a few hours prior , but Avalon never had the chance to experience adrenaline in such a healthy body. When she arrived at the the current location most other adventurers were, her eyes focused on the mycolossus’ before the allied forces. Before the rogue could act, however, Jack Anders stepped up and tried to help organize the group of people fighting the mushroom. In general, Avalon would think twice before following suit with someone else’s orders, but she had no experience at all to backup any other actions.

The withe-haired faerin shrugged, unsheathing both of her trash-tier cinquedeas before sprinting to the mycolossus' right, in zone three. As she closed the distance between herself and the target Avalon lunged to its side, stabbing with both of her weapons and pulling both in a slashing motion. Due to her inexperience and reckless attack, however, one of the mushrooms managed to graze an attack on her.

  30. The trio of mushrooms blocking the path fell swiftly under the combined might of the adventurers alongside that group of carts - and of course Kasumi's help, if meagre. But the threat wasn't over yet. Over the tops of the trees, it was visible. A huge, hulking mushroom-creature far larger than the three they had defeated. It seemed that was their target now, and by extension Kasumi's target. After all, she didn't really fancy being attacked by something like that herself. The safest way to avoid it was to stick with the people who were clearly capable of fighting it!

And so the twintailed girl advanced towards the creature, her focus on one of the smaller two that accompanied the gigantic fungus. "Hey! This way, stupid mushroom!" At the very least, she could try to attract the attention of the purple one so that it couldn't take out the ones more adept at dealing damage to it!

  33. Kyupin's eyes flitted around the battlefield, trying to take in everything but mostly being overwhelmed. She didn't have enough arrows for all of this chaos!

That's when she noticed @Kasumi Kurogami, bravely drawing the attention of the mobs to herself. Her eyes kept drifting back to the twintailed girl, which was how she was able to spot the purple mushroom fast approaching from their blindside. "Watch out!" she cried, quickly drawing her bow and loosing the arrow in a single motion. Thankfully, the arrow shot straight through the approaching funghi, knocking it backwards and pinning it to a tree. She sighed in relief, lowering her bow for the moment to rest her tiring arms.

Quickly, Kyupin shifted position again, moving towards the middle of the back line. The motion was the only thing holding her nerves in, and being central made the targets more likely to be in her actual range.

  36. Romeo held a pair of darts in his left hand as they approached the Mycollosus and his shroom-men to his sides. He was glad that he was a ranged fighter; after all, with his current skill (or lack thereof), he would be little more than a bad meatshield if he had to go and fight melee, and with a trashy sword, at that.

Not that his darts were better. They were still trash, but they could do damage while he was in the back. As the Tanks and Melee players rushed in, Romeo stayed back to where the started, and instead reared his hand back and then threw the darts with as much strength as he could muster, right into the center of the group of pink shrooms. Before they had landed, he'd already released another pair into the pink mushrooms, with the exact same powerhouse form that his body wasn't quite built for, evident by the new throb in his shoulder.

  39. As the ranger readied up another shot on the pink Doom Shroom, she felt an odd sensation as a status effect popped up in the corner of her vision. The UI informed her of a received buff. She wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth or look behind her to figure out who exactly had given it to her until she heard @Jack Anders calls out to her. He followed it up with orders to others, but her target was set.

With the buff in place and the clock ticking down on it, she wasn't going to waste a heavy hit to the Doom Shroom. Instead her eye turned to the looming form of the Mycolossus. If she was going to do this, she was going to do it in full. She didn't watch it, but she could see the energy bar drain as she charged a furious Precision Shot to strike the boss they faced together. The arrowhead slimmed until it was a narrow thing, long and thin like a particularly lethal needle. The power of the buff behind her, the tension of the Reckless Attack charged, and Nathair's furious strikes were set. She pulled just the bit farther against the strain of the bow and with a steady exhale released-

Just in time for the string to snap. The longbow's incredible draw weight wasn't sturdy enough to handle the strain she had asked of it and she cried out at the whip-thin wire snapped to lash out and clip the side of her face. The other end bit at her forearm, but the sting of it was all that made it through her armor. Luckily, the arrow still flew, but it was a gnat where it should have been a dragon. The archer snarled furiously at herself and lifted an arm to draw across her face, blood smearing onto her sleeve. Gwyn was going to have to restring the damn thing in the middle of a damn boss fight!
