  1. Under most circumstances, Elizabeth would not put herself under the tutelage of another. In fact, the only reason she was here was to take what this old man taught and see what kinds of magic she had to surpass with her dark arts. Surely other mages would come... and Merkaba would gauge their and the teachers power. The magic of this dimension would bend to her will. A interesting exercise this would be. This quest would not involve her follower Alphabet Chocolate... ugh, the name. Merkaba would be alone and not have to deal with childish antics. Praise be Babylon!

Already upon entering the quest's destination. Elizabeth could feel the animosity of the old man's students towards her. This place lacked dark mages. It made sense that mages of other schools would hold a distaste for that which was superior. Merkaba was the uninvited guest here... oh well. It made it all the better when she dominated the room. She was fairly certain that weapon use would be unacceptable here. After all, the point was to train magic. So she left her scythe in her item bag.

"I have come to practice my craft... I will wait here for you to begin."

The dark lady folded her frilly arms and waited in the corner of the area where the least light shined.

  2. Mage Apprenticeship

Location: Stokbon outskirts | Season: Spring | Time: Unknown
_____Alice did not recall how she had ended up in her current situation. Her arms wrapping lightly around her mystery egg as she struggled to keep up with her friend who seemed to be rushing her along a decently traveled path. He had waved a few signs before their trip and Alice was still trying to understand them. She had already translated ‘Magic academy’ but beyond that the message was still rapid signs that her friend was known for. Soon enough the area she approached answered her question.

_____Before her was a large tower with a courtyard and a heavy feeling of magic in the air. Her frame slowed down to a near halt as she started to back away from the place. She could not deal with people, much less so many at one time as she looked through the arch way and say countless students using magic and a old man slowly making his way around to assist them in training with advice or showing them.

_____When she tried to back away she felt someone pushing her forward, turning her head to see her friend who was persistent in her learning how to use her magic. To anyone else however there was just Alice who seemed to be wobbling near the entryway nervously eyeing the teacher and the other students. After a moment however her friend won the small dispute and she rolled forward protectively wrapping herself around her egg as she rolled into the area and sat as still as possible hoping others would ignore her.

_____The grass around her slowly seemed to grow upward and this ripple slowly spread outward causing a small field of grass to be unevenly higher than the rest in the hard giving away what magic she might be using. Slowly moving herself to sit cross legged she refused to let go of her egg as she sat in the growing patch of grass shaking like a scared little kid. Her friend had vanished once again leaving her with complete strangers.

  3. Yuki felt like there should be a few more quests like this one. Quests that help to boost their attributes after completion instead of having to spend a large amount of coins or points to become stronger and more capable in battle. But, he was sure that doing this would make the game a bit too easy for players. Nevertheless, he was glad to have been able to pick up this quest.

It was even better that he had a type of magic as one of his starting attribute or otherwise, he would have been upset about not being able to do this quest. Roja didn't have trouble finding his way towards the academy, but when he arrived he noticed a young girl cowarding in a patch of grass with no one helping her.

"Hello?" Roja said towards Alice in his usual soft tone of voice trying to get her attention. He didn't want push her fears further, but he had a feeling that he was just gonna make things worst for the timid girl. "Its ok. No one here is gonna hurt you or anything. Your completely safe." Roja said attempting to calm the girl down. He held out his hand towards her wanting to help her up off the ground.

  4. Merkaba saw a child show up and then go hide herself away in the grass. Elizabeth could feel her fear and tension form where she stood. Why are there so many children trying to be adults in this world... oh yes because it is being labeled as a game. Ridiculous. Well, this quest was for practice so juniors could possibly be invited. It would just make things more boring and if they were like Alphabet Chocolate the most annoying girl in the world... then Elizabeth would be frustrated by them too. Looking at her, Merakaba saw she was not a dark arts user at all. Not with garb like that. Poor choices child...

Then there was the male. A swordsman? Here to practice magic? Ambitious, Elizabeth liked that in a man. Her husband was ambitious until he died of course. Merkaba turned her gazed to other things. The place was a good size for a magic battle. Perhaps summoning would be put on display here? The dark witch started to exercise her magic muscles some. Bringing her mana out just enough to create a dark glow around her figure. Then dismissing it before it would release a spell and drain energy.

Honestly, she grew bored. When would this begin so she could see something worth this trip?

  5. ”It would appear everyone is here now, if you all could please gather around. Either with those of matching magics or with someone you know here. Most of your training is going to be alone, however I will offer aid where I can.”

_____The old man spoke calmly as he tapped his staff to the ground to get everyone’s attention. He would look to the dark aura of Merkaba and faintly smile. His staff tapping again as the shadows she was in seemed to rip away and be replaced with light before he waved for her to join them in the light. Alice, was having none of that. The moment the shadows moved she panicked and tried to run away again holding the mystery egg in her arms tightly. A light thud as she fell backwards having run into nothing but air, and her friend who refused to let her leave.

_____She did not want to be here, there had already been the scary lady staring at her, and the boy who was trying to talk to her. She was not safe in the slightest! There was also the constant downward looks she felt from the other students there. Her race, faerins did not exactly have good standings among the NPCs. It was the race of most this world's slaves, while it was somewhat abolished recently it did not change the fact most people did not like being considered equal students with a fearin.

_____Most the other students split into their groups and began dueling each other, the old mage moved between everyone’s duals offering advice or using his staff to catch magic and stop it from harming a student who might not be able to block it. A boy dressed in white would approach Merkaba and challenge her, ice drifting around his hands to hint his magic type, but the fire in his eyes was not going to take no for a reply. Roja would be approached by a mage in brown robes, but not seemingly giving away what magic he might be using. Alice, just sat growing the grass and waving her hands at her imaginary friend demanding he move so she can go back to hiding in the forest.

  6. Merkaba was not impressed when the old man chased away her shade. She was looking to see some real power. Which one of these mages, if any, would show her something worth this trip? Well, with everyone getting into position. It was time to find out. Finally, a good exercise she hoped this would be. Merkaba's face was stoic, cold as the ice coming off the hands of her little dark sacrif... training partner. She would stand straight, her back arched just a little and she raised her right hand near her face. Her fingers moved slowly as purple energy danced between them. Her other hand flipped her hair. She wanted to teas the little frosty cone mage some. first. See him use his power then she would know just how fast to be done with him. A stronger foe warranted a longer training period for her. As for the other's training sessions. They were unimportant right now. Best find out if this one was anything special.

    "You should know."

Merkaba spoke in a sinister tone. Her voice dripping with venom and her eyes seemed to glow a little as they burned into the into the boy. Her fingers moving slowly and her streamer wings beginning to blow as her mana hightened for use. While the very best of Malefimancy came from long rituals that took a great deal of preparation and patience. It still was a aggressive and killer magic that when used by someone who knew how to control it,, was quite possible to fight more regularly. Debuffs and ailments be damned! Merkaba wanted to bring some blood out in here.

"Dark magic is a gift from the dark gods. You should reconsider your craft. It won't stand up to me nor to the future perils that await all that refuses it's dark embrace."

The old teacher was keeping the magic in check. He was good but was he really good? This would test him as well. She wanted to she if he could protect this boy. She would not kill him of course. Merkaba would just break him, prove her power and move on, or see he had some skill and have a real training session. Closing her eyes and listening to for the boy's chant. Anyone at his level, why even she still had to use a chant to release a spell. So she listened and whispered to herself ever so incoherently her own. How to deal with him at first? Something simple, she did not know exactly what he would do after all.

"A procella caedis in abyssum irent. Veni in manus tua, et non faciunt. Hoc iter orbis terrarum, et conteret inimicis meis inanis. Daemonium in ungue!"

She would then open her eyes and quickly kneel to the ground. her pale hand slamming into the floor and small black ripple emitting from all around it.. Her head tilted upward towards the boy and she would slowly get back up while eyeing him. Her spell seemingly did nothing else.... of course that was what she wanted the fool to think. How he reacted would tell her a lot about the old man's students and just how much there was to learn from this... training.
