Having taken a quest off of a bulletin board, Harveste was aware and waiting for the chance to start with the people that had joined in accepting it. The fae wasn't very strong, but she'd noticed it seemed like a more domestic chore- all they had to do was sneak around and get the sheep that had gotten out of their pen. As a rogue, the sneaking shouldn't be too hard- but what about the sheep themselves? She may have managed to make a squirrel like her momentarily once, but these were sheep. There was probably a big difference, especially since they'd already managed to escape. "Let's see...What were the conditions again?" Hidden: Reminder of objectives and mechanics from Eudora Bauer Objectives: Help wrangle the sheep back to the pasture. Don’t get caught by Eudora’s father! Mechanics: DC: 330 Each player must roll a [dice*]d100[/dice*] in each of their first three posts to meet the DC. If the DC is met at the end of 3 posts, players can simply finish with an optional exit post. If players fail to meet the DC, George will return and force you off the farm. Modifiers: +5 to your roll per tier of your highest mastery (excluding beginner) +10 for expert. If you have Beast Taming, use +10 per tier instead of +5 (but only if you use it instead of your highest mastery). "Looks simple enough...Now, where could the first sheep be hiding?" She looked around for her fellow quest-takers, hoping to spot one of the sheep in the meantime. Thrown die: 7 Answer + 5 @Ashiore Evretto & @Rory Ulric
Rory liked working, it was like a workout in this game and sheep were way lighter than those ox things from before. Rory noticed the little one called Harveste, ah yes, she was the one who got the squirrel off demon guys head. Rory waved before he jumped a fence looking for sheep. Rory smiled at the open field as the wind blew, it was nice to at be here in spirit than in his withering corpse of a body as he went walking through the field. Being careful in his search for the sheep. Besides, he heard sheep were stupid. Speaking of sheep, looks like one decided to wander up. Rory charged it and picked it up. Now he just has to bring it back, no bigge.
Ash grinned as she made her way to the fields where the errant sheep had wandered off. Reading the quest specifications, she couldn't help but feel a bit of amused sympathy towards Eudora Bauer, recalling her own childhood and her misbegotten schemes that she tried to (badly) hide from her parents. Out of some sense of solidarity (and wanting to see sheep, couldn't forget that, sheep were adorable) she signed up for the quest and started looking. It looked like she was late, however. Two other people were around, and had started looking for the sheep as well. She smiled as she introduced herself to them, and got right to helping! Couldn't let those poor sheep wander around on their own. What did sheep eat? It couldn't just be regular grass, right? There had to be some specific kind of food that they would like. Hmm. She walked over to the pastures where the sheep would normally be, bending down to examine the ground. Huh. Looked like... clover? She could do that. Using Naturamancy, Ash concentrated and let clovers grow in her hands. And then she started wandering around the fields, hopefully luring any sheep back with promise of some tasty food. Glad to see a familiar face, Harveste waved a quick hello to Rory- she would've called out to him, but she didn't want to scare away any nearby sheep. It took quite a bit of searching to find just one- until she looked towards her other quest-mate using magic to try to make plants they'd like. Wandering over, she spoke quietly to the girl she didn't know, hoping to praise her. "That's a good idea. Let me help." Carefully, she tried to adjust her energy to make nature listen to her, but her lack of training was showing- she grew a single clover, that was a bit wrongly sized as that. "If only it had four leaves, I could think the size a good omen," She murmured- but then a sheep caught her sight. It wasn't getting away this time! Thrown die: 69 69 + 5 = 74 226/330 ((Thanks for adding in my part since I forgot last time, Ash! I was afraid to edit my post eheh... Oh looks like we're doing weirdly well~Aside my stinking at math.))
Rory was glad these gals knew magic (Perhaps he should learn some) when it started to attract sheep. All he had to do was wait until they got close then hey would grab them, pick them up and carry them back. Rory was doing just fine with this...until the ram came. Rory saw the ram prepare its charge as he widened his stance, this ram was going down. Rory got into a wider stance with arms slightly out to grab the horns as the ram charged. He yelled a battle cry as he grabbed its horns, pushing him back. It slowly came to a stop as Rory's hands began to bleed from the friction. He quickly put it over his shoulder smiling in victory. Ash smiled at the small faerin who had wandered up and helped her with the clover growing. "Thanks!" she chirped, glad for the company and assistance. With two of them at the job, things would go much smoother. And it seemed like their other partner was doing very well with physically getting the sheep back in the pastures. Luckily, it seemed like the sheepdog had calmed down considerably and was doing its job keeping the sheep contained. Looked like they had most of the sheep already! Even the more ill-tempered rams were in, thanks to Rory's hard work. She and Harveste weren't quite up to the task of physically hauling the sheep back in. But she did frown in concern when she saw Rory's hands bleeding. That must be from where he stopped a few of the charging rams. She waved him over and started to cast a healing spell on him. Thrown die: 69 69 + 15 = 84 Total = 401/330
It felt hard to believe how fast they were getting the sheep back where they belonged- and it was even more amazing how fluffy it felt when she ended up basically riding one back into the pasture when she'd spotted it a bit far from the clover field they'd made. Seeing that she couldn't heal, she was merely able to be grateful one person in the group could. Especially since it was hard to watch Rory getting injured by a ram! As Ash casted the healing spell, Harveste hurried to their side the moment she was done relaxing the ram- albeit with minor repercussions for her own clumsiness as well. She lost only one or two health points, and wasn't particularly worried about the minor bite she'd gotten, but rather focused on the man instead. "Does it still hurt...?" Looking around, she smiled. "It looks like we got them all. Well, I think we did...And the sheep are sure to be happier here now that there's more food, right?" Thrown die: 19 19 + 5 = 24 425/330 ((we finished in two rounds, but it said 3 posts, so I guess we need to do 3 each still. Might as well roll, right?))
Looked like everything was nearly perfect. They'd gotten all the sheep back and it looked like nobody had any serious injuries--not them, and not the sheep! That counted as a resounding success in Ash's book. Still, there were a few minor scrapes to fix up. She cast some minor healing spells to fix up a couple of bites from nasty sheep across the three of them, and after that it seemed like everything was done. Well, since they finished the job with a bit of time to spare--Eudora didn't seem to think her father would be back for a while--surely it wouldn't hurt to spend a little time with the sheep now that they've calmed down, right? Ash had seen Harveste riding one back to the pastures earlier, and though Ash herself wasn't the right size to ride one, she couldn't resist petting a few of them as they wandered the fields again. They were so soft! And so cute! Thrown die: 74 74 + 15 = 89 Total: 514/330 (OoC: I guess so? XD I didn't expect to finish up this quickly either)
Rory enjoyed his work out...but now his co-workers have started to have fun with sheep, why? Who knew, he did know that sheep can be tasty. Of course he wasn't going to butcher any. Rory thanked his healer as he sat down watching over the two. Might as well stay and make sure they don't hurt themselves when a baby sheep climbed up into his lap. Rory absent mindedly petted the sheep as he watched. Glad the work was over and glad he could live the rest of his life in this very pretty world. Thrown die: 10 529/330 10+5=15
