Tuskarr ★ Ben clapped his hands together, his intense stare focused on the NPC in front of him. Poor guy was blushing! "And you said I'd get 20 gold for this, right?" he purred, head cocking to the side in a coy manner. Oh yes. That was definitely a delightful little flush. He leaned on one leg, hand planted on his hip. "Can't we make it a lil' more?" he asked, eyelashes fluttering, "for me?" He was practically cooing at this point. It was fascinating how easily he could bend people to his will in this game. "T-That's all I have. I'm sorry." Ben clicked his tongue, unsatisfied with the answer. "I really am!" Sure, sure. He huffed slightly, folding his arms but acquiescing with a nod. He was still a pathetic newbie, and gold was gold, no matter how little at first. Everybody had their humble beginnings, and he supposed these would have to be his. Accepting the contract, Ben turned around to head towards the fields the Tuskarrs were rumored to lurk in. Though the reward sounded disappointing, at least he'd get to experiment a little bit more with the fascinating combat system of Terra Sphere. And maybe earn some points to drop into his skills so he could advance into somebody worthwhile. He spied a few of the others tackling the Tuskarrs, noting that most of them were in pairs. Were they really that hard to beat? Focusing on the heavyset beasts, Ben called up their nametags. And promptly flinched back with a loud hiss. Yeah, he'd need support for this. Or some other sucker would handle most of the fighting while he dropped in a few hits to qualify for a good ol' bounty. ... that definitely sounded much better to him. He spun around in place, scanning his surroundings, and eventually decided to climb a nearby tree to give himself some height advantage. And a cool-entrance advantage. He'd just have to make sure he got enough hits for the system to register the boar under his bounty. Or party up before the Tuskarr died. Ben hummed under his breath, building up a melody to buff himself with, anticipating the adventure that was soon to come. Thrown die: 100 200/180 @Meruru Blanchimont
Meruru had gotten a bit used to being on her own, far from home now. It had been about a week since she warped somehow to this new land, region, hopefully not world. Her experiences with different people were pretty interesting, and different parties were becoming increasingly fun to hang out with. Getting to know so many unique and interesting people was part of the fun in any adventure. She was also gathering a good deal of ingredients for her workshop to be! Her dream was going to come true. Meruru really never expected it to happen in such a way and so quickly though. There was just one big hurdle left. A really big one at that. She was broke. Yep the princess did not really have the chance to bring her royal wealth with her when she was taken from Blanch. So now she had to scrounge up a lot of gold to be able to actually open her store. That was what led her to take every quest and bounty she could. Meruru was not much of a fighter but she needed to work to get her place! It's not like money was just laying around i the grass right? So she took a whole bunch! The first one on her list was something she wanted to get over with fast. Tuskarr hunting. Urgh... boars. It was becoming a bit of a epidemic of the creatures wasn't it? Meruru had quite a few close calls already on gathering trips with the big mean pigs. So now she had to deal with even more of them. Luckily she only had to kill one for the money. She doubted she could handle two honestly. Even at this point. Luckily also was the fact that a bunch of others had paired up and came to hunt too. That was good. She could just ask for help from one of them!. Meruru approached a nearby Tuskarr cautiously holding her rod tightly in both hands. She hid behind a big tree and sighed. Okay... how to do this? She heard something above her. Looking up she saw... um... a nearly naked person! Woah! "YIKES! SORRY!" She shouted accidentally and quickly covered her eyes and mouth with her hand to both not look at anything naughty or to alert the boar. The later was unfortunately too late though. The nearby Tuskarr snorted as it charged with reckless abandon at her. Hopefully it would somehow miss and bang into the tree or something... that would be too easy though wouldn't it? @Ben Dover
His eyes flickered down to the girl hiding beneath his tree, disbelief clear in his expression. Could she even fight a Tuskarr? She looked... well. Not fighter-ly. Not really. She even had her eyes covered like a child, not paying attention to him OR the massive, angry boar. Ben snorted in amusement, deciding to stay up in his perch as the Tuskarr revved up and charged at her. If she died, that wouldn't be his problem. Mother nature had to do its job and weed out the idiots, right? As that thought solidified itself, a massive force slammed into the trunk of his tree, shaking it wildly and sending him toppling out of the tree top and on to the girl below. "OOF!" He winced, but the pain wasn't too bad. Did the boar just run into the tree? Reaching down blindly, he patted the girl he'd landed on, "Thanks for the pillow, love!" and then plucked himself off of her. Without even a hint of caution, Ben peeked around the base of tree, eying the dazed boar. Yup. It smacked straight into the wood. "I'm surrounded by idiots," he mumbled under his breath, eyes rolling. Oh well, a free kill was a free kill, and if he worked fast enough, he wouldn't have to share the bounty with Miss-Cover-Your-Eyes. He reached down, pulled out a dagger—where had that come from? There was literally nowhere to store things on his body! You know what, best not to go down that rabbit hole—and then deftly lifted himself on to the Tuskarr's back. Blade, meet Tuskarr flesh. The dagger easily pierced the hide, sinking all the way to its hilt. This definitely snapped the boar out of its daze. It roared, rearing up to knock him off, but Ben was good at riding things. Using that expertise, he held on and pulled out his dagger again, just to slam it into the hole he'd made with an eager shout. "You llke that, don'cha?!" he grinned, stabbing again and watching the health bar of the Tuskarr drop. And then, eventually, it collapsed underneath him. Whoops. Staying perched on his newfound seat, Ben looked around, wondering if the girl had stayed to watch. "Whoops, did you need to kill it too?" he asked slyly, batting his eyelashes. "Sorry, I got carried away." He was not sorry. Not at all. You could see it in the smirk on his face, if Meruru could find it in herself to even look at him. He did not notice the three smaller boars that had witnessed the death of their mothers, glares focused on his back. @Meruru Blanchimont
Meruru heard a loud smash followed by something fall right on top of her! Ouch... Opening her eyes she found herself sprawled on the ground with the half naked man on her back.... wait what? "Ahhh!" Meruru was nervous and embarrassed. She was not even sure how to respond. She was relieved when he got off her and she quickly jumped up and bit her lip nervously, as she worried about how bad that may have looked. She heard a roar and turned to see the man was now riding the giant boar. That combined with his comments was a bit... suggestive. Meruru had to remember that she was not supposed to reveal her status as a princess to anyone. It was just that this sort of thing was not something she was experienced with. It's okay Meruru, just go with it. Everything is good. The Tuskarr died pretty fast as he stabbed it in the side while talking about how much the boar liked it like that. Kay. Meruru kind of just watched kinda unable to respond properly. Then the smaller boars made themselves apparent to her. She snapped out of it and shouted a warning before running in with her rod a swinging at the boars. This was kind of becoming a trait with her. Just going crazy with her rod when things got hairy. It really was her only option until she had a proper alchemy set up though. Good thing she swung very enthusiastically! "Watch out! There are more boars!" Off she went swinging and the smaller boars made small drops next to their foreheads before trying to run away. She caught one and began to bash violently. It took a few bashes but eventually the small boar was pretty dead. Meruru wiped her forehead and sighed. This was really going to eventually lead people to think she is a mad masher or something... @Ben Dover
He let out a low whistle, leaning heavily on to the boar to get a closer look at her enthusiastic bashing. "Wow," he gasped, "looks like you had some stress to relieve!" He had half a mind to offer a much better way to relieve stress, but the bounty had demanded three little piggies, hadn't it? He pushed himself off the corpse and chased down the other two piglets, his movements flowing like some obscure dance. They had not gotten far, having stayed in place to watch and mourn their brother be beaten to death. Luckily for them, Ben was a far kinder soul. He stabbed his dagger straight through one little piglet, then, using the dagger as a handle and the impaled boar's tusks as another weapon, pierced the remaining piglet. A quick, painless (but probably traumatic in those last moments) death! "It's a pig kill pig world," he sighed dramatically, shaking off the two corpses hanging from his blade with a click of his tongue. He fiddled with the UI, bringing up his Contract to make sure everything was complete. Yup. And oddly enough, he'd somehow automatically joined this girl's party. (Meruru Blanchimont? Weird name.) Which meant he'd have to hand in the bounty with her. "Alright, I want my reward!" he crowed, taking off without waiting to see if Meruru followed. "I was promised 20 gold pieces. So if that's all he has, too bad little missy, I'm taking it." @Meruru Blanchimont (( ooc: after your post you can close, if you'd like? that way it's 3 posts each. :3 ))
The half naked guy ran off and killed the other pigs. This was kind of cruel. Still it was the quest and Meruru did sign up for it. She really needed to get that money. This was a total pittance though compared to the amount she needed. 1000 Gold? Sigh, if only she had brought some of dad's money from home. Too late for that. She did not even know how to get back. Meruru would nervously shake the blood off of her rod with a grossed out look. She really needed a better way to deal with this stuff. How long could just mashing things with her admittingly crappy stick be a acceptable way to fight? With the beasts all dead and the most of the hunters having left. Meruru then heard something from the guy that really depressed her. Gosh... she did not realize that. She did not get a actual Tuskarr kill. Or at least not a grown one. Did the little guys count too? She slumped over and sighed. Making money was hard.... she may have goofed this one. "Oh man....." [FIN]
