Tutorial Dungeon

At the cave entrance, Trinity would be waiting for those who accepted to come to the place she dubbed the 'Tutorial Cave'. She would be completely weaponless and only garbed in her flashy but not very protective looking clothes. A smile on her face as usual. She was sitting on a rock right at the mouth of the cave. Kicking her legs back and forth like a little kid. Humming the theme song of Terraspere to herself. As the players drew closer, she would wave and gesture to them to come over.

"Hmhmhm, welcome gang! Like I told you earlier this place is for learning how to get your feet wet! Ready to get dirty?! Eager for some treasures and goodies?! Adventure awaits in the world of Terrasphere!"

Trinity giggled merrily and would jump off the rock to make a extremely over dramatic gesture towards the cave entrance. Like someone introducing a superstar. Pulling out a small clipboard as if from nowhere she began to skim over it. Then she spoke.

"Let's see here... you have to get Trinity, that's me kay? To the cave's end and back alive. Piece of cake right? Time to learn how to bash cute critters with your sticks and stuff. Hahaha, adventure ho! Let's gooooo!"

Grinning she turned and ran full speed into the cave.

_____Mary was likely going to be the hardest one to deal with as her red eyes glowed with annoyance towards little miss cheerful. Her hands rested against her legs as she simply considered ‘accidently’ pushing her into harm’s way a few times to harm her, but make sure she never dies. It was a truly tempting idea as her tail waved happily in approval before she dismissed the thought and sighed lightly.

”Nyaa has a question… If we, say aren't able to fully keep you safe and you get hurt does that affect us overall? Just a what if question honestly.~”

_____Mary hummed her question happily, her mood even drawing out a small purr from her lips as she wondered what sound the girl would make if she got hurt. To Mary there was no real reason to take the game seriously, it was a game and if she died she would either respawn, be able to make a new account, or have more free time to herself. That was part of her reason for choosing to act as the dangerous and vile person she was.

”I also think you should let one of us go first if we are supposed to protect you. I don’t mind being the front of the group but Nyaa have a bad habit to chase fleeing targets.”

_____Mary lifted her hand to cover her yawn as she watched to see if the girl might reconsider going into the cave first. She did not feel like supporting her case anymore than her first comment so if the girl chose to lead the way anyways Mary would follow second. Last thing she wanted was to guard the back and be left with nothing to fight despite hearing combat so close to her. She also wanted to get to killing more than anyone else there most likely as her tail conveyed such and swayed with ill intent in mind.

 

Alpha felt her eye twitch as the blue-haired girl ran into the cave. The girl was nice and friendly and, don't get her wrong, Alpha really appreciated that. The only problem was that she had walked quite a distance to get to the area over here and her stamina was really depleted. Feeling the ache crawling up her legs, Alpha couldn't help but give a barely noticeable sob. Looks like there would be some more leg work for today.

"W-wait!"

For once Alpha wasn't the boundless bundle of energy bouncing all over the place; her archetype had been taken from her. Alpha took a deep breath, looking back at the girl ahead of her --- a girl with ears and a tail which flicked to and fro. Alpha had a sudden urge to reach out and touch but she couldn't bring herself to move another step without another set of hacking coughs and huffs. She really did need to exercise a bit more (despite being having a rogue mastery, her stamina was a bit lacking).

As she regained her breath, she steeled herself, sweat dripping down her face yet staring at Trinity's retreating back with determined eyes.

"C'mon partner, let's catch up!" she smiled.

 

Trinity stopped running ahead shortly after hearing the call from Bloody Mary outside the cave. Turning and looking at the adventurers. Trinity would slowly begin to walk backwards through the cave tunnel. Moving much slower now. She would keep her hands behind her back and look at her 'protectors'.

"Welp, it would be better for everyone if I wasn't hurt right? I don't know that's just the rules kit kat. No worries kay?! You guys just need to kill some weako monsters and make sure the adventure goes well! So beware of nasty bats, and scary slimes Or would that be the other way around? Hehehe."

Pointing at the rock walls with one hand while continuing to walk backward looking at the group. Trinity began to give some beginner information.

"Remember that in this game. You can't go through walls and stuff. Also you guys should keep track of your needs meters. They sometimes decrease faster in harsher environments. Luckily this just a cave. Nothing to worry about! But it won't always be that way!"

She spun right back around and skipped for a few steps as she continued.

"Isn't this cave realistic? Everything is made to make things perfect for you adventurers. Every little detail to ensure a wonderful journey and a epic tale! With danger around every corner, and..."

Looking around she would see that they were in Room 1. This would be where the first encounter would occur. Yay! Fun stuff! Trinity spun back towards the group and gestured behind her at three slimes that fell from the ceiling . They were bright green and about as big as a young man. They opened a single creepy eye from within their mass and begun oozing along closer.

"Well what to ya know? On cue! Okay, you guys just have to bash them in the eyes! That's their weak point! Remember not to over exert yourselves! Your strength and skill is tied to your masteries. Think how you like to fight and use what you gain from here well! Also, don't forget to focus on a single enemy for about five seconds. You'll see their name, health, and general comparative strength based on colors! Isn't that just the coolest thing ever?!"

After finishing what seemed like a preprogrammed speech. Trinity nonchalantly moved to the northern most area of the room and watched. Swaying a little to a beat that seemingly only she could hear. All the while smelly green slimes approached Mary and Alphabet.

_____Mary was not a fan of this trinity girl’s positive nature. Her mouth releasing a light hissing sound as she followed and began to wonder exactly how badly she could allow the girl be hurt without looking intentional. Her tail flicked around slowly as she skipped for a few moments before they encountered the monsters and Mary entered her usual mindset. Fangs showing behind her parted lips as she rushed forward and attacked without even listening or checking the monster’s information.

_____Hands stretched out with palms flat as the black cat decided to take all three targets by herself. She wanted to let the others get hurt sure, but she could not resist killing something when it got in her way. Her tongue slowly traced across her lip as she jumped towards the first slime and aimed for the eye and where she assumed a brain would be in the creature. Be it acidic or extremely sticky she did not care.

"Oh, uh, this shouldn't be too hard, right?" she grinned nervously, raising her arm up to wipe a bead of sweat that focused on her left brow. Alpha was really thankful that their guide and charge, Trinity apparently, had at least given them the weak point of that tiny army of one-eyed slime globs. Alpha watched as her partner, a lithe cat-eared girl, flung into action and proceeded to attempt to swipe the first of the slime-army (as Alpha called it).

Well, if she could do it then Alpha would too. Alpha, albeit a bit more hesitant and slower than the other girl, picked up one of the sticks lying around the area before charging head-first into the scene. She immediately targeted the slime to the right of the one her partner was attacking and held the stick like a javelin. As she charged, she hoped that her makeshift weapon of choice would be able to pierce through the slime's eye.

For the entire time that they had been here, he has only kept to himself and hasn't said a single word. This wasn't unusual for the young adult, but this time seemed different. It was because Trinity annoying behavior and constant talking was really starting to get on his nerves earning the NPC his indirect hatred. Why did the game's developers make her so annoying? If she was gonna do this the entire time then they were gonna need to protect her from him.

Thankfully, he would have something to aim his pent up angry towards. Poor slimes.....they had no idea what was about to become of them. Drawing his short sword, he rushed towards one of the slimes aiming to stab it in its eye hoping it would seriously injure it.

The slimes stupidly approached the party without any realization that they were about to have their eyes brutally stabbed, punched, clawed and who knows what else. Trinity kept watch and cheered as the group charged forward. Alphabet being the slowest due to her looking for a weapon first. Trinity began to describe the action like a sports commentator. Not really helping whatever stresses the group may be having.

"Look at that kit kat go! Such ferocity and aggression! Showing no sign of fear, she charges into the fray! Look out slimey things! You're about to become what the cat dragged in!"

"Aww, it looks like Alphabet Chocolate does not want to fight empty handed! Personally Trinity thinks that's a smart move! Go short person! Fight with your stick of truth!"

"And it looks like the handsome guy over here is taking things pretty seriously! Just look at that face! He is totally gonna rip these slimes in half! Hahahaha!"

Meanwhile the battle would ensue...

• The charge directly at the slimes caused them to focus on getting to you exclusively at first. However they would eventually notice the other two attacking and turn to face their respective foe.
• The claw attack was successful on the closest slime to Mary. It's eye spasmed as her claws dug in. A non hazardous ooze dripped from the eye but it was still functioning. Enough for the slime to counter attack with a sudden blobby bounce onto the Felis. Due to the closeness of her. The attack would be successful causing her to drip in goo which ate at some health. The slime would prepare for another attack but it had a slow recovery after its initial attack.

• Alphabets stick would pierce the slime's eye very well, even coming out the other side. It's eye oozed wildly as it seemed completely blind now. It seemed that just another blow may finish it off.

• Roja's short sword would be the most effective of all. Completely shattering the eye. Causing the slime to melt into the floor with a sickening smell. Roja's slime was defeated!

_____The Slime would likely be regretting it’s action as the attack landed without issue on Mary and the girl stood still for a moment. Her tail slowly began to quickly flick around behind her before she hissed and got fairly more violent against her pray. Hands turned into her only needed weapon as she slammed them into either side of the slime’s blobish figure around the eye and pulled, fully intent or ripping the eye from the goo but not stopping aggression there.

_____Even if her action was enough to kill the slime she would claw away at the remaining body while jumping on the discarded eye, her eyes filled with rage. And something else that was hard to fully make out. Mary, when she suffered damage always lost her sense of control and as long as the slime was still near her she would keep attacking it until it was nothing more and she could try to calm herself down. If someone tried to approach her she would lash at them also and the cycle would simply renew itself.

Alpha glanced and found that her partner, the one that was pretty tall and probably had male reproductive organs, was much more successful in his fight with the slime-creature than she had been. She winced upon seeing her cat-girl companion get coated in a layer of sickly grin goo that looked an awful lot like donkey bile. Alpha shook her head to discard herself of the unsavory thoughts and returned her focus to the slime ahead of her—she still had an enemy to defeat, after all.

"Okay, uhm, that worked," she looked over to her stick which was covered in green slime. She choked, wrinkling her nose. Shaking off the excess goo off the branch, she pointed it to her enemy with the intent of charging in once again. She quickly centered her outstretched arm and makeshift weapon onto the creature's eye and rushed forward, screaming an unintelligible battle cry.

She'll get that slime creature this time!

Roja looked on in disgust as the slime he killed melted into the floor leaving behind a pile of green goop. He held his nose to protect himself from the terrible smell that followed its death by his hands. How could it smell as if it had been dead for weeks seconds after death?! Yuki would step away from the slime's "corpse" and decided to check on his party's progress.

He was the only one who killed their slime, but everyone was making good progress while one.......decided to go overkill. "you just do you." Yuki said casually to the cat girl of the group before watching the other Rush at her slime.

Trinity nodded her head in delight to her own beat as she watched the little slime skirmish unfold. It was awesome! The players were doing so well and having so much fun in Terrasphere! Trinity wanted everyon to enjot and love this place, it brought her AI such strong feelings of warmth to see everyone having a good time... even if they were killing and shouting and such. It was all for the thrill of the game!

• Bloody Mary's shift into 'black cat rampage mode' (not a real ability just what this DM will be calling her insane charges when sngered lol), would push her body hard but the eye of the slime could only take so many rapid claw strikes before bursting onto Mary's hands and arms. Causing her more damage but the slime was defeated!

• Alphabet would attack the slime again. The stubby ooze had little range unless it could leap forward but the stick was just long enough and the girl fast enough to pierce the eye yet again. This blow indeed defeated the creature as it melted into nothing.

• Roja's current action would be to simply watch the field around him. This helped conserve his energy.

"Yay! You guys did great! How was your first dungeon fight? Cool right?! Betcha can't do that in real life! Okay let's move on! This lesson isn't over yet!"

Trinity spent no time hanging around Room 1. She headed right off through the next passage. Her high pitched happy voice trailing behind her.

"If you check your needs meters you will see that depending on how you fight and what you cast, your energy meter will dissipate. Always know how to balance out your aggression. Especially in longer raids and dungeon events! Don't want the eviiil boss to smash you up cause you tired out too soon!"

Trinity would pass by a path that seemed to open into a side cavern to the left. Ignoring it she continued along at a stead walking pace. She spoke another hint as if on cue...

"Sometimes the main path is not the one you want t o stick too, and sometimes it is! Secret treasure and other rewards may await the brave explorer, but then you got the traps and stuff. They trick you into thinking a place is safe and ya know what they say about the kitty right?"

If the party continued to follow Trinity. They would travel down a long path before eventually coming to Room 2.
If any of them took the side path they would end up in the Side Room.

Roja wouldn't waste any time after the battle was over and followed Trinity on the path deeper into the dungeon. He decided to use this time for cleaning his blade from the left over slime on it while listening to Trinity's advice no matter how annoying her voice was. It was simple, yet very helpful advice to take to consideration. A person's energy basicly decides how long they can stay in the fight for and if he wasted too much then it was game over for him. Best to be careful with his actions.

Roja took a quick glance at the side cavern that they were passing by, but didn't think too much of it and continued on his way. It wasn't even apart of the mission. However, he would think differently after Trinity mentioned the possibility of secret treasures in other parts of the dungeon. Maybe the side room that she had them pass by would have a item that would prove useful and if not he could see it for some gold.

"I'm gonna check the side room." Roja said before turning to head into the room they passed by without paying his team much mind.

_____Mary did not feel like dealing with anything else as her frame went still after her prey was dead. Head was the first to move as it scanned slowly with closed eyes, and then she shook wildly trying to get the slime off herself. Her tail puffed up with protest for getting so messy but after a few attempts she would follow behind the group some distance. Her tongue tracing her hand to lick her wounds it seemed.

”Why can’t we fight something with blood in it, i want to watch it bleed it…”

_____Mary doubted anyone who hear her, but that did not fully stop her from speaking to herself. It was not like she needed to worry about how people saw her in the game, or cared. Eyes following the group and watching the male break from the group also, if she was more in the mood she would very well follow the male and try to snap his neck from behind since he was alone, but as she licked her palm she was content for now and simply followed. If there was more monsters she would act though.
