50 HP MAX HP 75 EN MAX EN Ozwin grimaced as he saw Ashiore take the full attack of the monster but had to accept that he was still very weak in the scheme of things. Despite him holding a trident he was still nervously slinging spells from the back, afraid of being pulled into the jaws of the creature in front of them. His growing self doubt caused him to dig his feet in, plant his trident in the ground before charging up a larger bolt than his previous one... though the recoil caused his aim to slip it seemed. Was he just being in the way of a stronger player joining in here? Putting Harveste, who was being a supportive friend in harm's path by refusing to retreat himself... "Harveste, we may be fine for now, but the moment you feel to be in great danger say so and that will mark our retreat." He was lying of course about it marking a retreat for both of them but he worried if he didn't tell Harveste he would retreat as well she might hesitate in running herself. 34 + 50 + 10 -10 = - 84 474 / 1200 DPS / Zone 3 / Reckless Attack (Roll) Another Fishy Problem Ozwin's Status Tracker

I don't want to come back to your corpse, not if I can help it." Groaning slightly, she managed a barrier- but only one that was strong enough for the two of them, so long as she stayed at his side. She felt bad being unable to do much for Ash from here, but right now, she was far healthier than they were- and she at least wanted to get him through one more round before fleeing such a battle. Turning to him, she mused, "This may be my last round, but I'm not letting you go through this without a fighting chance. At least a little longer, I'll support you best I can. So you better give it your all, okay?" With a smile, she nodded towards Ashiore. "That goes for you too, though! Don't give up, Ash! If everyone works hard, we can beat this annoying piranha!" As she spoke, she internally wondered...What kind of fish WAS this giga fish anyway? 54 HP MAX HP 89 EN MAX EN Ugh. If she thought the slam hurt, then getting trampled was even worse. The fish nearly flattened her completely as it charged and she grimaced as she picked herself back up. The wiggling motion would be almost comical if it didn't involve literally getting run over. But when she stood back up, she saw that the fish was still facing away from her, in the direction it had charged. It had just started trying to twist its body around, only able to manage brief jerks of movement. So, the fish was still staring straight across the beach and not paying attention to anything. Luckily, it wasn't looking at Ozwin and Harveste either. It was tempting to attack it again while it was distracted with trying to turn around. But she could feel herself shaking in pain from that last hit. A brief glimpse at her UI confirmed that she was dropping pretty low in terms of health. Ugh. Decisions, decisions... In the end, she decided not to risk it and stepped to the side. A green light washed over her body as her healing spell got to work. Her eyes were stricken with fear as she rushed across the field, taking herself to the farthest zone across the way, just on zone separate from the woman who'd come to help. With a deep breath, she managed to project a thought to the woman. "Oz is coming this way too. 40 HP MAX HP 50 EN MAX EN It was a miracle the fish had flopped it's own belly flop. Feeling safe in the corner, she hugged onto Ozwind for a moment, relieved by his desperate attempts to protect them all. His idea had been uncanny- the speed boost really gave an edge, even if only for one turn. But now, that fish was in the center...It was surrounded, yet it felt like they were in far more danger. "Can't give up yet," She muttered softly. Under her breath, she pushed against Ozwind's back. "I'll set up a barrier on all of us. It won't be excessively strong, but should help us get through the fight a bit longer. Think you and Ash can take it on?" Glancing to Ashiore, she tried to mimic her words in a sort of sign language so the giga fish wouldn't hear. Hell, who knew if this giant fish could understand them? It'd be bad if a boss knew what they wanted to do to it! Not long after signing, she cast her barrier upon the whole field. "At least with this, we can cut back damage that's lashed out on ourselves. 54 HP MAX HP 83 EN MAX EN Ash stumbled back quickly as the giant fish flailed its tail fin at where she was standing just a second ago. Whew! That was close! Good thing that she decided to step away; that looked like it would have been a nasty whack upside the head. Ozwin and Harveste rushed over, boosted by a quick spell that Harveste cast. They were standing a fair way from where she was and looked no worse than they had been before. That was good. It was probably better to spread out even further, so that the fish wouldn't be able to take them all down at once. Ash stepped up again until the fish was blocking her line of sight to the pair. Good, now they had the beast flanked. And it was looking rather roughed up too. Buoyed by the thought that they could finish this fight quickly, Ash conjured up the acid plant again and commanded it to take aim at the fish. This time she got a bit overzealous with the attack and excess acid splashed all around her. But that was fine! She probably wouldn't even have to worry about that later, if they could take down this beast now! 24 + 15 + 50 - 10 = - 79 285 / 1200 DPS / Zone 1 / Reckless Attack Link to Roll Link to Status Tracker

Even the fish had to realize it was in danger at this point and might become more desperate any second now. Best to work at bringing it down immediately before it had too much time to struggle and kill them off. All it would have to do is start picking them off here soon after all. Ozwin rolled away from Harveste, and rather than another bolt of electricity he wanted to at least plant and tear his trident into this... this... 54 HP MAX HP 77 EN MAX EN Ash winced in sympathy as the vicious looking bubble attack washed over Ozwin and Harveste. Ozwin in particular seemed intensely affected by the attack. But thankfully, Harveste's barrier mitigated quite a bit of the damage, so they were both still alive. But this was it! They had to finish the creature now. She doubted that the two could take another hit, so this would have to be the last blow. The fish looked desperate now, gurgling and streaming blood from where Ozwin stabbed its side. It would probably bleed out from that wound soon, but Ash got the feeling that it might have the energy to muster up another desperate attack. So, to business. Since she was right next to the creature, Ash decided to keep things simple. Focusing her energy, she slammed her hand on the ground and released the burst of nature magic, causing long thorns to grow out of the sand and pierce the fish's underbelly. 23 + 50 + 15 - 10 = -78 Total 111 / 1200 DPS / Zone 1 / Reckless Attack Link to Roll Link to Status Tracker

With his trident implanted in the fish, Ozwin was completely unable to dodge the blast of bubbles he took at point blank, but he refused to back down or let go through the attack suffering critical injuries on his body. His pain settings being on realistic he could feel death clawing at him as he had never experienced before. He had been wrong. He knew this as he stared into the eyes of the beast, so close to his own, their eyes reflecting what they saw in the other. His eyes reflecting the sight of something stronger than himself, a creature far more than worthy to be called a challenge, and through his eyes the fish knew itself... But his eyes could see how the fish saw himself. The fish's eyes only saw food. A morsel to fill that spot in its belly that cried in hunger. Unlike his own eyes, the fish's wasn't looking for a challenge, and thus didn't see one. The fish only saw food. It had only seen food. And through the fish's eyes Ozwin knew himself. That is what made Ozwin realize his mistake. He thought he sought see monsters as a great challenge to overcome, but now he knew what he really wanted. "You... BASTARD!!!" Ozwin stepped forward, twisted his arms, and then thrust the trident even further into the fish. The trident met the resistance of whatever this fish's skeletal structure was made out of and penetrated no further. But he wasn't done! Ozwin took another step forward and used more might than he thought his body had to start lifting the fish up, blood covering him as he yelled and made the wound on the monster larger and larger. THERE! Seeing the mirror of the beast's eyes he could almost see his reflection change! The fish's eyes... they too reflected a monster now. A madman's grin dawned on Ozwin's face as he saw exactly what this world had to offer him, and what he wanted to take from it.
