"I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that riddle," Amane said, drumming her fingers against her thigh as she pondered its answer. Her first thought was, well, the wyrm. Mostly because it was right in front of her, and arms and legs it clearly did not possess. But, the part about new management? It left her stumped. Something about an office, or a job department maybe? Though she supposed the black-haired woman might not have meant it literally, she thought, watching with blatant wonder (and a fair bit of unease) as the sickly, skin-chilling fog swarmed around the creature, bringing it crashing down; supposedly making it the necromancer's next thrall, according to the dark mage's words. Perhaps being under her control counted as "new management"?

"Is it this thing?" The sorceress guessed, inclining her head towards the wyrm as she followed after Roland's departure. Leaving after only taking out one of them sounded pretty pathetic, if she was honest, but they did take quite a beating from all the natural elements solely from making their way down. And...that's probably my fault, she mused, rather embarrassed, even if no one else seemed to have much complains about her efforts, as far as she could tell. If she'd cast more buffs and protections before hand, they could have ventured a lot further by now. Not to mention only applying the statuses after they entered the cave, rather than before, was a pretty rookie mistake.

"Well, at least that's over!" she piped cheerfully. Fishing around for a joke of her own to bring the mood up, Amane cringed when the only thing that came to mind was, urgh. It was extremely uncharacteristic of her, but she — unfortunately — couldn't think of anything wittier for the time being. Taking a breath for courage, she quipped, "I think that went pretty wrymderfully~" And, oh goodness, she couldn't even maintain a steady tone throughout the sentence, her voice cracking at the end from sheer mortification. Okay, that? That will never be repeated, she thought, digging her fingers in her palm as the felis valiantly attempted to avoid the gazes of any of her companions.

OOC: @Roland Rutledge, @Alphabet Chocolate, @Lucia Mierz. Okay, I swear, this was meant to be a short post. uwu

  2. Lucia only let out a small chuckle, nodding back, as if it were a simple and plain to see answer. "Naturally." She spoke, in answer to Amane's confusion. The Wyrm didn't have eyes to properly show it's possessed nature, but it's advance would no doubt halt even as it's large head turned up to greet Lucia. With a soft gesture it approached her, it's massive body lurching through the tunnel clearly making an effort to gently approach without causing collateral damage to those close before Lucia patted it's head. Though the thought of them only taking down one wasn't surprising, she could only shake her head knowing that it was a worthy enough victory. "Even if it's one, one is enough. Now the Blight can spread, now one can become two, then four, then eight. Growing and spreading from one to another." She tried to explain her plan, since the whole of the fortress's underground was tainted, it was inefficient to simply send dozens of teams down to clean it out every once in a while. Instead, using the creatures themselves to hunt down their previous kin would be much more effective.

"Plus, it would make for lovely transportation through hard ground. Now that it doesn't need it's organs it can be changed and rebuilt into a living space." Lucia mused, finding it to be a very nice adjustment from her old bag tent... But to live inside a large creature will take a lot of work and time. Not only for the furnishings and the construction, but also for getting rid of the smell of rot and flesh, it would be a nice little pet project while she works on getting Lucia up to the proper status of a legendary figure.

  3. Alpha walked down the path, deep in thought, as Amane made a terrible (terribly funny) pun about the wurm that Lucia had just straight-up slaughtered. Anxiety crawled through her at the thought of the woman's necromancy and, despite her positive feelings towards the woman whom she had met before, she just couldn't stand to be in the presence of the undead any longer. She pulled up her interface with a clench of her hand and flicked through the options before finally signing off; she really needed a cup of hot chocolate to deal with this mess.
