Appearing out of the digital ether, Kaeliel stretched her arms, reacclimating herself to her body and her surroundings. She stood amidst the many tents that constituted the living spaces of the elves' refugee camp. Unfortunately, none of them were hers; with all that they'd lost or been forced to abandon in their escape, there wasn't room to accommodate an outsider. Besides, it wasn't as if she needed anywhere to sleep there. King Astor had grand plans to develop the area, and she hoped that one day she'd be able to settle alongside the elves- at least until they were able to take back their homeland of Yladia. Though she still wasn't truly one of them, Kaeliel was starting to become more familiar with the refugees- and some of them were becoming familiar with her. "Miss Kaeliel! It's good to see you again," a young apprentice druid said as she spotted the silver-haired elf. "Hello, Seldanna," Kaeliel answered with a smile. "How have you been doing?" "I'm getting better at healing, Miss Kaeliel," Seldanna answered. "Do you think we'll be able to practice again today?" "Certainly," Kaeliel replied. "Just let me get caught up with how things are going." Kaeliel enjoyed practicing naturamancy with Seldanna and the other apprentice druids. While it seemed to the NPCs to be helping them learn, it was also a learning experience for Kaeliel (and Ken, her player), who was taking the opportunity to learn the incantations to her spells, so that she could use them more naturally without going into menus. Having the game take over for her during spellcasting always felt a bit weird, even in the context of being a human man in an elven woman's body. For now though, she would take a walk around the camp, seeing if there were anything for which she might be needed.
The sound of light and enthusiastic footsteps could be heard crushing against the leaves of the ground, as Sui made her arrival to her new destination. "What is this?" She inquired in a somewhat surprised tone, before taking notice of some of the camp's inhabitants, "And what is that?" She inquired again, with a wide eyed curiosity as she observed their appearance. The inhabitants in the area seemed quite tall, unique, and pointy eared. Remaining in her position for a while, with a look of absent-mindedness, she eventually stuck out a fisted hand, before opening it to access the palm menu. After various scrolling and multiple clicking throughout the menu with her other hand, her eyes brightened upon finding the information she'd been searching for. "Aha, Yla..dian" She eventually spoke, before closing the menu. She had not read hardly any of the game manual, besides whatever were the bare minimums required in order to create a character, log in, and move throughout the world. She hadn't the patience for it. She'd been learning the mechanics of the game, and referring to the palm menu as she went. This was her general style of things. Even now she hadn't an idea exactly where she was. One could state that she was lost, however, that statement wouldn't be quite correct; For, she had nowhere in particular she was going. She caught a few of the inhabitants of the camp staring at her, quite surprised by Sui's appearance, before going about their daily business. It was something of an irony to her. The inhabitants here looked weird to her, and she looked weird to them, "There's a moral lesson to be learned in that somewhere.." She spoke lightly to no one in particular but herself, before continuing her entrance further into the cap, a look of curiosity and cluelessness.
Stelluna walked up to the entrance of the refugee camp. So, this was what the fuss was all about. Admittedly, she was somewhat of a newcomer to these lands. She didn't really pay attention to current events when she was traveling with the caravan. That was more of a trader thing, all she really cared about back then was what was lurking down the road. Stepping inside, she saw vast rows of tents and various Yladians wandering the camp. As she wandered around the camp, one of the people around eventually got curious enough to talk to her. "Er, hello. Are you new around here? I don't think I've seen you around before." Caught a bit off guard, Stelluna took a moment to compose herself before replying, "Yes, I just arrived here. I'm just visiting though, I've heard a bit about the camp and decided to explore." "Um, alright... See you around." The Yladian bid a quick retreat, leaving Stelluna alone. She decided to find somewhere a bit more isolated. The constant bustle of activity and noise was getting on her nerves a bit. Finding a quiet spot near one of the corners of the camp, she sat down near the base of a tree and began to rest. As she looked around, she felt a sense of loss but shrugged it off and started thinking.
Humming a tune to herself, Kaeliel walked around the camp, briefly pausing to help a little boy who'd tripped- giving him a hand up to his feet and using her naturamancy to heal his skinned knee. Smiling and giving the child a wave, she turned back to continue her rounds. She soon spotted a human woman who looked lost- obviously a player, given that she was opening up her menus every so often. "Hello," she said, lowering the hood of her cloak. "What brings you out here?" If a new player had come to the camp to help, that would be a good omen for the Yladians' future- it would mean that word of their plight was spreading quickly. As she approached the human, she also noticed someone else who seemed out of place. Another woman, this one Yladian, sat beneath a nearby tree- but she didn't look like one of the refugees. Was she also a new player? Kaeliel waved to greet her as well.
Sui was too far in her own world to take specific notice of anyone in particular, until a voice directed specifically to her suddenly interrupted her thoughts. She blinked back into reality, observing the character who had just suddenly appeared in front to her. Since there were so many Yladian, and everything looked in general odd to Sui, giving her inability to distinguish, she assumed that this woman might have also simply been a NPC like the majority of the rest of the residers here. She paused for a while, pondering deeply about her answer, "I don't know!" She eventually replied, a cheerful smile widening upon her face. "I just happened to randomly wander here." She continued, before her attention span distracted again to the surrounding buildings and citizens. Eventually she returned her attention back to the woman, "You seem nice." She continued again. "You're the first person to actually have ask me a genuine conversation with me. Everyone else here just keep staring at me strangely." Recognizing the wave, she later also looked in the direction of the other player.
The two people looking at her felt different from the others. There was something off about them, as if they didn't quite belong with the world. Ever since she walked into a camp, she felt something building up within her. Simply put, this was not a place Stelluna belonged in. She was always much more at home on the road or in the thick of a fight. This place was a bit too... complacent. Everyone's sitting around and waiting instead of going out into the world. She had nothing against the people here but it just wasn't her place. Walking up to the two women, she said, "I apologize but I really do have to go. If you need any mercenary work done, I'm always ready for a job." Having said her piece, she turned around and headed for the entrance. It took a bit of time since she was still new to the camp but she found her way eventually and left. She might revisit once the place was built up and shops started opening. [[Exiting thread]]
