    Jelly Egg

    Druuk IslandLa Confiture
The confectioner's haven known as La Confiture has been widely received as a remarkable dining location and a cultural landmark in a specialized culinary community off the coast of Druuk Island. Their latest meals, however, seem to have been lacking the spark it once had and the Head Chef Moreau is enlisting the help of hired mercenaries to find the perfect ingredient for the dish which would regain the confectionary its prestige and famed taste: slime jelly. The treat is a delicacy in the surrounding native tribes and once was an essential item in any five-star cook's pantry. Its succulent, sweet texture and versatility in any recipe, however, left the species over-hunted and nearly extinct.

You're tasked with retrieving the flesh of the endangered slimes rumored to be loitering near the Coral Reef. Easy job. Until you notice the distinct appearance of a fertilized egg laying around while you were out searching.

Instruction: Describe, in a post with a minimum of 300 words and a maximum of 500 words, how you found the egg, came to the decision of retrieving it, and what you would do after. Roll a dice of 100 at the end of your post. First person to roll an 80+ wins the egg.

    Code:
    [dice]d100[/dice]

    NOTICE:

» You may only obtain one Mystery Egg per week; this limit resets every Sunday.

» If you currently have a Mystery Egg on any of your character, you will not be able to participate for a reward.

» If you have at least Seafaring proficient, you can add +10 to your dice roll modifier.

» If you fail to roll an 80+ your first try, you can try again. If you do so; however, if your second roll fails as well, you will die.

  2. _____She was not going to stand for it! Alice stood as proud and strong as she could in the sands of the beach not far from the slime’s habitat ready to protect them from those that sought to harm the creatures. Beside the forest Faerin was some of her more bold friends ready to keep people away. Behind her was good old Momma bear, the brown grizzly snarling and looking as hostile as she would if someone stepped in her territory. Though the bunnies that sat on the bear slightly weakened the bear’s scariness.

_____To either side of Alice was wolves both big and small and foxes, in the air a few birds ready to hold the line beside the beast tamer to protect their fellow creatures. Alice herself held a large stick ready to hit anyone who tried to pass them or harm her friends, her legs slightly shaking, she was not the best at standing her ground against others but she had to try! Kitsy, her small fox friend was sleeping around her neck not so much caring for the current turn of events so long as it did not interrupt her nap time.

_____Most other times Alice would have used this to admire the sea and reef not far from her spot but as she heard the sound of the very few remaining slimes moving around behind her she resolved her focus to the task. She was there for a few hours already and would stay until her needs meter told her otherwise, that was when she felt something hit the back of her legs and drew her to spin around stick at the ready.

_____Resting behind her was a few slimes trembling at the sight, Alice throwing the stick away to try and calm them down. Here she was trying to protect them and she scared the small creatures. Reaching out carefully to pet them and sat down to keep them company while the forest watched their backs. ”I won’t let the scary people hurt you…” Kind words as she did not seem to notice the egg the slimes moved towards her.

  3. While she wasn't very good at fighting, scavenging seemed to be easy for an offline hoarder. Wandering the coastline as requested by a stranger, the small looking girl kept her eyes peeled for anything remotely 'slimey'. At first, she was fairly adamant about it- but, the longer she kept herself seeking something, the more she was able to be distracted by thoughts unrelated.

Although it was a bad habit, she was already distracted by the coral in the distance, colors dancing within the waters that crashed ashore. The rainbow of flora filled her with whimsy, mind beginning to stir with ideas of things she could write about later. As she conjured a poem and spoke it aloud, she was already skipping deeper into the cove not far away- but not watching her step, which really was a problem.

"And the blood red rose said to the- EEP!" As she sung her inner words, her foot caught on something unfamiliar, sending her flying face first into a mixture of sand and dirt. The blue glow within the cove caught her eyes, which stung from the various particles that caught her in her descent to the ground. Her voice laid a light echo against the cavern walls, embarrassing her further than she was.

Struggling to her feet, she looked behind herself to see what she'd fallen on, though shook slightly from the disorientation of the fall. At her feet laid a seemingly hardened goop, the shape a bizarre array of points and curves.

"What is this?" She pondered aloud, crouching beside the crazy fossil and poking it lightly with her finger. She'd poked the wrong spot, and found it scratched her slightly, her finger moving to her lips to calm the pain. "Jeez, this thing really hates me doesn't it?"

With a sigh, she looked a bit more around, before noticing a shadow beyond the shape on which she'd tripped. Lifting it, she realized it could very well be what she was looking for. Garbage or not, she wasn't sure. And so, she fled the scene to turn the strange thing in.

  5. "Slimes." Roland groaned, "Why does it always have to be slimes?" The gooey creatures and Roland had a bit of a past with one another. As Roland had always been at odds with them, considering they were resistant to his normal attacks. While in other games they were plentiful easy level monsters here it seemed they were much stronger, or at least there were variations that were. A slight shudder passed through his body as he remembered being consumed by a rather large one, passing out from lack of oxygen. Luckily a passerby spotted it, and saved him.

Still La Confiture was a prime drinking spot, which had its own special wines to pair with their meals, so when the opportunity came up to help them further their menu, Roland gladly accepted. After all, it would likely end with him getting free wine, so why not? Of course this had been before he realized that slimes were the target of this particularly fetch quest, but he hoped it wouldn't end as poorly as it had in the past.

With a groan and a grin he headed towards the coral reef. He was instructed to use a boat, but given his lack of sea legs, Roland simply new better. Instead he decided to stick near the shore, wadding through the knee deep water as he fought lower level slime creatures. They didn't provide some of the larger loot drops, but the sheer number pushed up by the current was enough to make it work Roland's time.

As Roland worked diligently, only taking a break every ten minutes or so for alcoholic refreshments, he noticed something glimmering under the water's surface. Curious Roland thrust his hand into the sand beneath him, gripping onto an oblong object and pulling it out of the sea's grasps. What he saw was...

  6. Well, what did she know? As it turned out, slimes were always a staple in every Role-Playing Games out there, Terrasphere included. One thing Eldhi found out as she arrived in an underwater cave along with a small group of adventurers. They were hired by the chefs of La Confiture (such a fancy name) to gather some slime jelly for their exorbitantly costly dishes. Not like Eldhi would buy them anyway, she could buy a set of armor with just one portion! Seriously, they were basically eating jelly! ...maybe she could try one of those in the future if she ever had the gold to spare.

"Okay..." Stretching her body, the little group continued on their way deeper into the cave until they came at an intersection. The slimes should be further inside and as such, they decided to split up. As they continued to traverse the damp cavernous tunnel, they could hear wet slithering sounds echoing in the corridor. They were close indeed. The tell-tale signs of pinkish... thick liquid were visible as streaks on the wall and floor.

Soon enough, they arrived in the colony of slimes, the simple-minded creatures seemingly not even realizing the adventurers' presence or they didn't even mind them. The alchemists of the group began gathering the trails they left behind and carefully harvesting some of their slimy body without injuring or killing them. The slimes were endangered due to over-hunting and nobody wanted them to go extinct, not even the chefs. No more slimes meant no more delicacies, it would kill the business of the famed establishment.

As for Eldhi, she kept watch, ever at the ready for any hostile threats, she was a Knight after all, it was her duty to protect. As she went about her watch, her red eyes noticed a glint at the corner of her eyes, directing the light of her Illumancy there, it appeared to be a...

    Congratulations

    @Harveste has won a:

Jelly Egg – This egg is made of a surprisingly solid liquid substance with a webby outer casing and a rainbow fluid moving inside it. The shell is clear and you swear that the jelly's motions seem awfully life-like...
