Mushroom Cave Dungeon Theme Registration Thread Roll Thread Esuilus is a fairly new region that has seen a high rate of new expeditions. Like most new areas. It has become a bit of a mad rush to see who can get the most loot in the first month or so of the areas discovery. Luckily the current climate has slowed this down some. Which has left the Mushroom Cave, a cave with a very generic name, left virtually unexplored. The monsters in the general area are the weakest in Esuilus so what does this mean about the inside? Have a craving for shroom? Lot's of shroom to found here for sure. NOTES: This quest is a simple dungeon romp. Requirements None Objectives Explore dungeon and leave at you leisure. Posting Rules: Roll in the appropriate thread first before you reply here. Minimum of 100 words and max of 400 words, excluding the OOC stuff. Only 1 reply per cycle (dictated by DM's post). You will move to the next area when you fill the progress track. The longer you stay in an area, the more danger you'll be exposed to. You can leave the dungeon at any time. During every roll you may roll a extra 'Gathering Roll' to collect mushrooms. This is only for those with Alchemy or Cultivation. Use the appropriate post template. If item is gained. Add in post until used. Gathering Results [All Shrooms are only usable in THIS dungeon] 1-50:Nothing 51-60:Basic Mushroom (Restores 3% HP if used in dungeon) 61-70:Poisonous Shroom (ICauses 50 set HP damage to a monster in dungeon if mixed by Alchemist) 71-85:Tasty Shroom (Restores 10% HP if used in dungeon) 86-99:Magic Shroom (Restores 10% EN if used in this dungeon) 100: Prince Shroom (Restores 25% HP and reduces damage taken by 1/2 for next cycle.) Several parts were filled with grass and of course fungi of all sorts. The cavern had the perfect atmosphere for fungus growth and you should remain careful to avoid inhaling any spores that may cause adverse effects. Not every shroom in here is safe for humans.... 100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Condition: Leave Blank if no buffs, debuffs, or ailments are in effect. "Hey so is this mushroom good to eat?" Sharara couldn't help prodding and poking at each and every mushroom that she found in the cave. She wasn't an alchemist herself and she certainly wasn't all that well trained in identifying what mushrooms would do what. Which was probably why she shouldn't be touching any of them... Prodding at the one that she was caused a puff of spores to shoot up in her face causing her to cough and recede back suddenly, her eyes dilating slightly as the world spun. She managed to shake off the feeling, but there was some definite after affects to having inhaled the spores. The colors in the room seemed to shift and turn, and all the patterns in the surrounding areas seemed to sort of pulse for a couple of seconds. Closing her eyes did nothing to decrease this effect, in fact closing her eyes caused an explosion of colors and patterns to flow through her brain. "Hey guys I don't think we should touch the mushrooms... At least not these ones right here. 100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Condition: Stelluna walked into Mushroom Cave and instantly found out why the place had earned its name. She watched as @Sharara Gatsu poked a particularly colorful mushroom and earned a spray of spores for her troubles. The Felis seemed to be fine after a bit of struggling and time. While the cave seemed innocuous enough, it wouldn't be wise to let her guard down completely. Which is why she took exploring and general traversal slowly and carefully. It wouldn't do to have her career cut short by falling into a pit of carnivorous mushrooms or whatever deadly secrets the cave may have. Well, if there were any which she was kind of doubting right now. 100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Condition: It was too late to try and warn @Sharara Gatsu against mindlessly prodding unknown mushrooms - the spores puffed all around the other Felis. Wincing, Kyupin watched with sympathy. It didn't look to be too dangerous, as the other wasn't instantly dead, but still... Kyupin scratched at her cheek, watching as @Stelluna proceeded at a much more sedate pace. Which was understandable. "I don't really know a lot about the mushrooms here," she said, "so we should maybe be a bit careful?" With that said, Kyupin looked uncertainly around them, trying to take in every detail of the cave they'd wandered into. She'd heard about this place when discussing recipes with mushrooms with somebody in town, so of course she'd come to check out. Perhaps she should've done more research into all kinds of mushrooms rather than just the ones that tasted good and were definitely safe for consumption. She counted the passages that she could see. Mushroom Cave Dungeon Theme Registration Thread Roll Thread Mushroom Cave [ 163 / 1000 ] The party may have discovered pretty quickly that this fungus cave had little to provide other than mushrooms and semi pretty scenery from the more open areas. The many tunnels always led to wide open 'mushroom gardens' of sorts. With of course many growing all along the walls and floor of the tunnels themselves. Unfortunately, this slowly increasing volume of mushrooms also increased the amount of toxic spores in the air. It would be best to not breath to fast or to deep in here. 100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Condition: She coughed as another plume of spores puffed into the air, brightly colored mushrooms on all side. Frantically, she waved the small dust away from her, covering her mouth and trying to hold her breath. Who knows what was in that? When it looked like the area around her had cleared enough, Kyupin looked to the other two in the cave with her: @Stelluna and @Sharara Gatsu. "Are you guys okay?" She didn't have any kind of healing abilities if they'd inhaled something toxic. Perhaps they shouldn't stay in this cave... She'd let them decide themselves and would just have to do her best to protect them if anything bad happened. Despite not really knowing them, she felt... responsible for their safety. 100 HP MAX HP 100 EN MAX EN Condition: The thicker density of mushrooms deeper into the cave was concerning, doubly so when they launched a thick wave of spores. Stelluna quickly turned away and covered her mouth to the best of her ability. Best not to breath it in, she doubted the key to immortality was breathing in spores from unidentified mushrooms, quite the opposite in fact. Hearing @Kyupin Felnya call out to her and @Sharara Gatsu, she decided responded, "I'm fine, managed to look away in time. Doesn't seem like the cave has much else to it but then again, I'm not pressed for time and we could get lucky and find something." With that, Stelluna continued onwards, a little bit less cautious. If spores were the only thing to worry about, it was probably best to move quickly. The party would continue to wander the mushroom cavern only to stumble upon a group of Killer Moths! These fluttering bat sized moths attacked! NOTE: After defeating the Enemy you may auto cycle reset and resume rolling for the Dungeon Completion DC. Remember that you are now counting down due to decreasing the monsters HP. All enemy DC will be added to the completion points after victory. 78 HP MAX HP 95 EN MAX EN Condition: Sleep - 1 turn. -15HP from Moths. +3HP from armor reduction. -10HP from Toxic Spores. Kyupin wasn't sure how @Stelluna managed to go ahead so confidently, but she tried to mimic it. Even though her sensitive feline ears were picking up on a weird noise, she passed it off as cave sounds. Who was she to know how caves regularly sounded? So she walked ahead, head held up high, until the sound grew too close to ignore. Surely the other could hear it too. "What is that?" she asked, her brows drawn together. She squinted further down the cavern route as if it would help her see. All it did was make it easier for one of those massive moths to whack her in the face, knocking her back and onto the ground. She gasped in surprise at the pain, breathing in the toxic spores that had scattered in her fall. Her head spun, eyes growing heavy. No! No! She waved around furiously, her drowsy limbs managing to whack some of the moths around and away from her face. Wasn't pain supposed to keep you awake? Why was she so... tire....d.....? 85 HP MAX HP 95 EN MAX EN Condition: Stelluna watched in alarm as Kyupin went down to... giant aggressive moths? Well, she'd seen weirder things. Before she could draw her weapon, one of the moths dove in and slammed against her face. While it wasn't what she would call a mortal wound, it did sting a bit. Annoyed, she pushed the moth away and drew her spear. Swinging it in the general direction of the horde, she managed to knock out one out of the air. Though they were far from the most threatening of foes, these moths had a particularly malevolent air to them. She did feel a bit concerned for @Kyupin Felnya though, that fall had to hurt though it appeared that the moths were ignoring the fallen Felis for now. 70 HP MAX HP 90 EN MAX EN Condition: As the moth swung by another time, it just barely missed her. However, due to flying past the mushrooms it left a trail of toxic spores which were fairly difficult to avoid. Stelluna took a deep breath as she ducked under the attack and felt a slight, burning pain. Gritting her teeth, she swung her spear once more. This time, it caught one of the moths by the wings, leaving it twitching and dying on the ground. Only two more to go now, she took a quick glance to @Kyupin Felnya was starting to stir a little. While she could take on the four moths by herself, it was almost guaranteed that there were more dangers in this cave. Like... the bones of a dragon reanimated by mushrooms. She must've hit it hard when she'd fallen. It took a moment, and the moths out of hell were certainly not making it easier, but Kyupin managed to get up. "I'm sorry!" she called out to @Stelluna. It must've been horrible, having to fight alone! But now she was up and ready to fight again. Knocking a moth aside with the flat of her hand, she lifted her bow and let loose an arrow, pinning its wings against the cavern walls. Take that, giant creepy moths! In retaliation, the last living moth smacked into the back of her head, sending another wave of pain. 70 HP MAX HP 85 EN MAX EN Condition: Stelluna as alerted to @Kyupin Felnya being awakened by an arrow whizzing through the air and slaying one of the moths. Well, that was good. Seeing the last moth crash into her was less good but it was better than being asleep here. Stelluna let a last vicious thrust at the remaining moth, the last hit was clean, impaling the insect upon the blade. She flicked the twitching insect away before turning to Kyupin, "Are you going to continue exploring?" The giant moths were curious to her, she had never seen them before in all her travels. The plain name of the cave only adding more to her confusion. They found themselves traveling through large cavern after large cavern, past shrooms upon shrooms. After a while they came across a spring that had several greenish mushrooms growing all round it's edges. They radiated a faint green aura around them which matched the greenish aura of the spring. Option: Will you drink from the spring? Yes / No (cut roll + modifier results in half if you select yes) Option 2: Will you pick one of these green tinted mushrooms? (Must have cultivation.)
