Looking at the coolant device in her hands, Stelluna didn't really know what to make of it. She never was the type to use advanced devices, preferring more... elegant solutions. However, this seemed to be easy enough. Point at lava, spray whatever was inside and hope it helped. Honestly, she didn't really trust the machine all that much but the lava was a very big problem and she didn't see another option. Luckily, it seemed to be slowing down quite a bit. She was sure that someone else with magic or more technical skill could have made much more effective use but time was of the essence and it was getting hectic.

Things shaped turned increasingly hectic once the lava started rising. As for this blue-haired Yladian, she ended up watching too much and... well, not contributing at all. Looking at the new gorilla-like creature that had gained enough intelligence to just swipe some person and carry them down into the lava, Sylpha decided to actually do something again.

Opening and selecting one of the stronger spells on her list, she found her finger writing in the air (a result of fiddled settings) and an entire beam of purple arcane energy no thicker than her finger shot out at her target - which, she figured, was about as good as any of her spells were going to get.

Splashes of lava burns through her armor and skin, but she doesn't let it lower her guard. Just as all things seem lost, the reinforcement come. She cannot comprehend all of the information in this kind of situation, but now she know the Prince of Fire can be defeated she feels confident about it. Except right now a magma gorilla just jumped over her face into the group, snatching a girl from his group as the flaming hands hurt her. The gorilla tries to drag her into the edge of platform, now that can't be good.

She picked up her fallen sword and rushes to save the girl. As she ran, another magma gorilla rises from the lava and jumped straight to grab Gwyn; not before she quickly dispatches the gorilla that were dragging the girl though. But now Gwyn herself is in danger, Corvella and the rest of the group should cooperate to bring it down first before it is too late. She gets into range and lunged her sword into the magma gorilla, injuring it and spilling lava to the ground.

Gilgamesh had landed, luckily, on his two feet thanks to his inherent Felis reflexes coming to his aid. However, before he had time to catch his breath, Azog, the hulking behemoth before him and his group had just initiated its counterattack, essentially a gigantic wave of lava that crashed onto those in zone 9 injuring them all. Gilgamesh dodged and weaved but to no avail, he was struck by some of the burning lava that came at him, leaving a sizeable dent in his HP. Grimacing ever so slightly from the pain as he was determined not to show it on his face, Gilgamesh readied himself for his next attack against Azog.

He crouched, tensing his leg muscles and then used his feline acrobatic ability to jump high into the air toward Azog. On the way down, he first went into a vertical spinning slash followed by a twin stabbing move, both aimed at Azog in one fluid technique. Luckily this hit as well, causing just a bit more damage to Azog, leaving him one step closer to his defeat, hopefully anyway. Gilgamesh then landed and backed away from the beast, taking shelter behind the tank in their group and hoped that Azog wouldn't notice him.

As Roland tried his best to bravely cover the back lines he felt a renewed source of invigoration thanks too @Ilusa Nakhalee's healing magic. Roland shot he a thankful smile as he prepared himself for the next wave of enemies. What he did not expect was a literal wave of lava that came crashing down around them. Taking point, Roland did his best to cut a literal path through the magma, managing to do so quite effectively due to the efforts of
@Stelluna. As the heat began to dissipate he looked around him noting how poorly the less equipped players and characters were doing with the assault. "Don't worry about me!" he called out mainly to @Temperance and @Ilusa Nakhalee "I should be fine on my own focus on healing the others!" With a sudden shift in stance he moved forward nodding to @Stelluna as he took the forward position preparing himself once more to take the brunt of the assault.

Remained steadfast in the face of this adversary, his brow taut with determination as azure orbs carefully scoured the battleground for the unexpected. The event had been action packed, the grit of a warrior was put to the test in these crucial moments as decision making could be debilitating at any direction. The platforms finally found themselves beneath a sea of molten lava, the liquid so red-hot that even the weathered stone would find flames enveloping it, erupting out of no where as those close enough could hear the shrill of that vacuum. He gulped audibly as his mind mulled over the next possible course of action, but the sum of their efforts was balanced out by the damage they party continued to receive.

His eyes settled on a smaller feline, her tunic alabaster and her form petite and somewhat frail - though, her tenacity would leave her strength with no visible ceiling as she continued to fight, despite how her health dwindled in the face of inexplicable danger. He summoned his menu once more, translucent tabs flying open as he sifted through them with precision until he fell upon his healing spell. With nothing more than might backing him he would conjure a sparkling green mist, albeit less potent than his previous attempt. It would envelop her with a platonic sort of love, one that he harbored for humanity as a whole as the cleric wish for nothing more than her well being.

As his spell settled, seemingly consumed by air so hot that oxygen even burned, his focus recomposed itself to the greater events around him. In combat, as of now, he was powerless to aid them as his own recklessness could cost precious time. He bit his tongue, biding his time as he sought out the next hero - helping in what little ways he knew. The lithe support desperately wished to provide a mass healing, however he knew he hadn't invested enough to reap any value from that skill. For now, he would settle, preparing himself for any snap judgement of his skills.

Elysian was relieved when the gorilla was vanquished, but she couldn't rest easy as yet another one of her zone members was captured as well. The heal she received from @Alice helped give her confidence and even if she hadn't done much damage this whole time she wouldn't give up. The newly captured player was a big damage dealer and they needed her, so yet another gorilla needed to go down. Then they could focus on Azog and the rising lava. She wasn't sure which was more scary.

Elysian bounded closer, pulling back her bowstring in the process. She decided to shoot mid-sprint which proved to be a terrible decision. The arrow missed by a hair, bouncing off of the rocks of the spire and breaking into pieces as it was disinigrated by the lava. Maybe she really was in over her head coming to this battle so early on. Was she helping or making things worse?

At this point it was getting hard to breathe. Not only from the heat and flames but from the ash that drifted around and she felt like she was going to suffocate. Trying not to panic she lifted her orange bandana over her nose and mouth, and it helped slightly to filter out this mess but she still felt like this wasn't going to end well. Just then a warm feeling vibrated through her body, like a friendly hug and even in the middle of this hell she felt safe from the small heal even for a moment. She smiled at @Ruh Murad and gave him a thankful nod as both heals she received gave her newfound confidence.

Looking around there seemed to be a slight lull of activity, allowing Roland the freedom to free himself from his shirt. Despite the attempts of the various magic users, the heat was just unbearable, and beneth his leather armor it was even worse. Seeing @Temperance practically naked, Roland tossed his sweaty garb her way, "Use it or not, at least you have options." he called out with a laugh as he produced another small flask, downing the contents in a series of gulps. Though the whiskey burned in his stomach, it helped him ignore the oppressive heat long enough for him to produce a vial from his inventory. With a grunt he chucked the vial at the lava where it exploded freezing a portion of the lava.

  1. Rat

    Rat

Whoa! Things were getting cuh-ray-zee the longer she hung around all of these wild adventurous folks! A ton of crates came crashing down upon the spires from airships up above the volcano, and several people began to use the supplies to dump coolant into the lava, forcing it to harden and cap into igneous rock right in front of their eyes. As Roland shouted for her to focus on healing others, she looked about, seeing that it was more or less in Ilusa's hands. True, people were hurt, but hitting the big guy was more important than patching up a few boo boos! But who to give her blessing to?
"That's okay, I didn't really plan to heal you anyway, cutie!" she shouted at @Roland Rutledge's back.

She pondered what to do when one of the shimmering portals opened up again. Nobody had explained to her what the FUCK was going on however, so when the portal appeared, she panicked and covered one of her hands in a block of ice. She would deal with the monsters! Hyyyyy-ah! Running up to the portal, she threw a punch hoping to hit the monster she thought was coming out... and stumbled in.

  2. Right after slinging her spell at the gorilla, Sylpha backed up... only to, well, see some lady running in her general direction with a hand covered in ice (@Temperance). However, instead of reacting instantly, Sylpha was... delayed. Perhaps it was the heat getting to her or something else entirely, but she jumped out in surprise from behind some rock at a very late moment, only to jump into the portal for her efforts.

Before Sylpha could process (or rather, remember) why she would do such a thing, the scenery shifted entirely thanks to the rift. Scrambling to stand up, she stood in her new location and took a look around. In complete confusion she tried to remember the past few events...

Ah, right. The whole "retrieve a relic fragment" thing.

  3. _____It was one thing to think she wanted to do something major to help everyone, but as she ended up being one of the two in her group able to enter she had a slight shutdown over the matter. A blank gaze as she froze at the portal edge feeling her fears coil her skin, that was until she felt like someone had pushed her forwards and as she fell turning to see it was her imaginary friend Loki who vanished the moment she blinked. Rising on the other side of the portal and trembling she began her search, hoping to the seven corners nothing bad was going to happen along the way.

  4. She certainly had to pick up a weapon of some kind after the ordeal was over. Attacking with just her hands wasn't working out too well. Brushing herself off, she felt the healing from @Solaria! The saint!!

Rising to her feet, she observed as, not far in front of her, one of the portals that seemed to spawn the flaming beings from before opened, though this portal seemed different. No elementals seemed prepared to leap out and strike her down. "Guess I've got to go inside..." She took a took a deep breath, before--

In a sudden turn, as if in an Indiana Jones queue, she noticed her hat upon the ground! How could she forget, as it had been knocked from her head upon tumbling. Hastily, she placed it upon her head, and gave one last look to @Solaria and @Verity. "Wish me luck." She muttered nervously, and through the portal she stepped.

Bad news, the Magma Gorilla shrugged off her attack and continue to drag Gwyn along with it. They are nearing the edge of the platform, where the gorilla might plan to throw her or bring her into lava with it. She must stop it now, there's no time left. With the energy that's left, she chanted a short incantation version of the spell Fear which shocked the flaming primate for few seconds. Corvella hoped the spell would stun the creature much longer while she prepares the attack. But weak the spell was, the gorilla broke out of the spell's effect, forcing Corvella to land a premature strike which only scrapes the shoulder of the creature "Oh no you don't!" It continues to ignore her strike and drags Gwyn even further. At this rate it will reach the edge soon than she expected...

Even the Prince of Fire was going all out at this point. He could not blame the guy, since the entire raid continued to halt his plans of fire and brimstone. The wave of lava enveloped the spires, and with it the players. Alonso brought up his arms as though to block as much lava as possible from hitting him. Not the best plan due to the futility. If it were not for game mechanics, however, even such a small amount of lava would have ended his existence. Or at least hamper his ability to live until he died. Still pleased with the works of his support crew, the man became even more grateful when the heals went off to keep the party going.

Now came the worst part. Those gorillas went after Alphabet, and though Alonso's growl went off to prepare a charge at it, she was rescued by the others in swift action. Unfortunate that one of her rescuers, @Gwyn ap Herne, was captured by another and started to be dragged off. It was assaulted by the Felis's Zone crew, but this beast decided it was going to be hardier than its companion. "Hands off her ya bastard," Alonso shouted as he rushed down the gorilla. Bringing up his fists to pound into the creature, he forced himself to stop, realizing he needed to adjust so he didn't hurt Gwyn.

Feet shifted as he dropped his guard again to deliver a powerful roundhouse kick to the gorilla's side. It did not fell the beast, but it still did enough to matter.

As if fighting a 100-feet tall Fire Elemental inside a volcano overflowing with lava wasn’t surreal enough, Astor now found himself and his zone mate like sitting ducks as the story-high lava tidal wave towered over them, casting a threatening shadow on the ground they stood. If it weren’t for @Roland Rutledge and @Stelluna, there would be half of the people alive in zone 9 now. Astor then realized just how necessary tanks were in this battle. If they received another attack like that while the boss is enraged, they will be done for. He did not live through Arachna, the first world boss, to tell the tale, but he did learn that an enraged world boss is the scariest thing in the world.

“Tanks, could you shield us against another lava tsunami? The boss is approaching the sub-30%, he’s going to enrage soon. We’re going to get reamed when he does,” Astor said without an ounce of emotion. He was a king now, people look up to him for comfort and guidance, if he appeared weak, what good is his title then?

Running his hand through his fine, golden hair, Astor turned toward @Ilusa and comforted her with a firm squeeze of her petite shoulder when he saw that the rift portal rejected her. “Come on, we have to do our part here while they go and fetch the relic,” he said.

Since it was time to resume the attack on Azog, Astor thrust both of his palms toward Azog and began to recite his chant. “Nemur lahora ven asta fen aeson dir dorah aveorah!”

Above Azog’s head a spell circle appeared. From it, massive ice spikes began raining down on the fire elemental, plunging deeply into his head, forming a crown of ice for a brief moment. He could hear the titan scream in pain as he finished casting his spell.

Azog has reached 34%, he will be enraged in about 4%. Brace yourself.

Also, whatever you do, do not kill the boss until the rift team finish recovering the relic and is ready to use it or Azog is going to be reborn and regain all of his health, got it?
