    BURNING

She was running out of steam quickly, breath coming short and her eyes dry and blurry from exertion. They were all running on fumes this far into their fight. How many could claim to have stood in the heart of an ancient hollowed volcano, tomb to a fallen dragon and home to the temple of a goddess? How many could say they had laid low cultist who had stained a temple red with the blood of its own clerics? How many could claim to have slain a minion of the plane of fire and watched as its master tore through reality to shake apart the volcano and seek to drown the world in magma and vengeance sought? How many could claim to have killed a creature that rivaled the gods themselves?

So far she was counting roughly thirty. Give or take a head or two. It was hard to see past all the steam, ash, flame, and tears that blurred her vision. Behind her she heard Kyupin's admonishment and her mocking mimicry and couldn't help the dumb smile that crawled its way across her expression. In the face of all this, the Felis still had the time to scold her? Had the energy, the voice, the care at all to do so? She laughed weakly past the parched throat and ash-filled lungs and turned to watch her as the arrows sailed past her. She had come so far. They all had. There was only further to go.

The archer turned back to look up at the stunned Prince of Fire, her rage dying out as his own rose to punish them with new waves of heat. It didn't seem possible for them to defeat this monstrosity. It didn't seem possible to lose against it. It was an odd place she found herself in and her body shifted without conscious thought. Azog was near death, but no strike of her own would be powerful enough to slay the monster at present. Not without the help of others. Gwyn didn't need to be the first of the last to draw lava like blood from the hardening body of the elemental. All she needed to do was make just another crack in that immortal armor it boasted. Just a little bit more.

Gwyn fell easily into her archer's stance. A single gleaming arrow lay like a thread of fate between her aiming eye at the center of Azog's chest. She loosed her string to cut the thread, watching with a feeling somewhere between wonder and resignation replacing the thrill of the hunt in the space between her ribs. She could be content with this. When she spoke, it was a rasp of a whisper kept low so @Kyupin Felnya couldn't hear, a message just for Azog from her. "Bitch."

Everyone who is standing on top of Azog will recieve the burning condition that cannot be cleansed due to continuous exposure. Burning (Condition) -10 HP every time you post.

    Burning does not stack.

Every post, you should be losing:
    30 (retaliation) + 10 (burning) = -40 HP and 40 thirst

He didn't know if luck just somehow reduced the risks in his current zone, but the sight of his HP took a little damage was enough to sigh in relief. But upon he felt Azog's current attack, he had a feeling that his next one will turn the tables to Azog's favor. Not to mention that there are some players from other zones who are still attacking the elemental, which didn't help at all.

That was what Verity was thinking until he heard the vocal announcement. The plan might be reckless to his taste, but considering what the woman just justified and the relic team is still in this rift, it looked like attacking might be his only choice now. Also, he has some potions that he made during practice, so he also had to help out the others to replenish their thirst meters.

First things first, he added the elixir in his sword once more as he put on the magic boots that the Brotherhood provided to him and everyone else. With his Breeze Shroud spell creating the wind behind him, he jumped up in the air to reach the desired zone and as he let the gravity did its work, he swung his sword to the elemental's chest before he landed near the other adventurers.

Unfortunately, as he did, he started to feel the intense heat as most of his body began to burn, which quickly gave him the burn debuff as he saw in his UI. At this rate, he won't survive this area at any second now. "I don't think my HP will last longer. If there are healers in this area, I think it might be a good time to do their job right!" And he didn't just mean for himself, but to the adventurers that he guessed that are in the same situation as him. After he said this, he turned his attention to @Kyupin Felnya when he heard her pleas. "I'm not a healer, but I might able to provide you something to help you hydrate."

    BURNING

It felt like the world was crumbling around her. The heat burnt her throat more than the spores of Mycollosus had burnt her when she went to help find things in the rubble after it's storming of Yladian lives. As she turned to see the flames that haunted a familiar face, she panicked. "Kyu!" Rushing to her, she saw the burns that coated the girl's body. @Kyupin Felnya was in horrifying shape.

Her inner need to protect kicked into overdrive. She could no longer see anyone but Kyupin. A glaze of fear in her eyes, she set up the best healing spell she could, nearly crying as she did so. "Kyu, you're not allowed to die, got it?!" As the spell took effect, she put on the magic boots and glared angrily at Azog.

"You...Really piss me off!" Cursing a bit under her breath, she rushed at the beast, getting burnt heavily in the process. The air was too warm and dry. She could feel dehydration wanting to settle in, and her tears that tried to escape her eyes quickly evaporated with each step. "You...Can't win. I won't let you hurt anyone else! I won't lose anyone ever again!"

    BURNING

This was it, the final phase of the battle, he knew it when a hot air balloon dropped down in their position that contained boots that allow him and his teammates to walk on the lava, of course he knew what that meant, the heat from such a beast would eventually kill him so this was the end, he had to give it his all or else he would die along with everyone else in this region yet he wasn't afraid and he sure as well wasn't about to give up! Running over to the balloon, he opened a crate and took a pair of magical boots for himself, they looked like normal boots with the exception they had a faint aura, it didn't matter right now , they just had to work to get the job done. Donning the boots on, he holler out for his teammates to follow him if they wore the boots and were planning on damaging the beast like him.

After dashing to Zone 5 where Azog laid, he could tell his life was surely numbered by this extreme heat touched his body, it felt like he was being melted away from the inside, the pain from before was becoming far noticable. His body urged for him to withdraw but he refused to die like a coward. He wasn't a Hero but if he was going to die today, he would have a warrior's death no matter. The beast was incredible from this close, almost awe striking but his form had no effect on him mently, he stared enough at the beast from before, it was time for action, to use all he strength agianst him.

He was still tired before, the extreme heat made the air hard to breath, he had trouble exhaling but he wasn't going to let it stop him. Spending a minute exhaling the air, He drew his Odachi from it's Saya and dashed forward towards Azog using all his energy he could muster. Raising his blade into the air near his head, he didn't hesitate nor did he take his time when he began gathering his energy again. Not taking his time caused his blood vessals to nearly erupt, causing even more pain to him, for a moment he wanted to fall to the ground. Through sheer will power alone, he contiuned his charge at Azog, Channeling the energy he could from the undamged blood vessals, the energy quickly shot up into his hands and blade which soon form as a purple aura. Using his body as a conduit for the energy he needed, He thrusted his blade down vertical and horzontal many times

    REALITY SLAHES!

Causing many purple like claws out of energy to appear and overlap each other as they roared through the small amount of distance between Seto and Azog. These dozens of energy attacks ruptured into Azog's side, causing him to let a roar yet again. After the attack landed, Seto smirked as he fell on one knee, using his blade to hold himself up from falling, it wouldn't be long now he would be dead, he hoped the relic would get here in time, there was almost no time left and he didn't have much time left.

    BURNING

It seemed that everyone had managed to slow down the lava by cooling it enough. Additionally this seemed to cause trouble to the elemental. It seemed that it was having trouble moving, as if stuck.

She sighed in relief, no more lava tsunami. Alas it seemed her relief came too fast because then it spoke, no, it chanted a spell. The power in those words was easy to feel.

Then, the spear it had used at first appeared, red, hot as if made from the magma itself. Before Ilusa could do anything more than notice it; it attacked! Fast, so fast she barely saw it move.

It splashed across the reliable tanks. The duo was like a wall, impenetrable wall that made the attack ricochet. Ilusa could see how their health pummelled; Roland’s health pummelling into red zone! Still, the fire spread from before the tanks, searing everyone, but it was nothing compared to what they withheld. “Roland!” She called @Roland Rutledge , the brave, brave man, heedless of the pain the burn on her throat caused when she spoke. “After this, I’m giving you the best ale I have!” The Felis promised, because without him, they would have died. “Selluna, you too!” Of course the other tank also needed to be praised. Though @Selena looked more like a wine person…

Then came the magically amplified message. First the portals disappeared. Then the lady up in the air shared her plan.

“….Oh. You’ve gotta be kidding…” Ilusa bemoaned, but no, it seemed that the other did not in fact kid. Looking around, she saw sea of low health. And though she wanted to heal the brave tanks, numerically speaking, they were the best off and the boss was stunned so it would not attack.

She watched the boots that fell from the balloon and sighing put them on; ontop of the shoes she already had. They were large and enchanted. But hopefully they will work. Of course she was not the first, but seeing that other players could walk and not immediately die. Glancing at @Astor Balthas who put the shoes on too, the Felis took a breath and then steeling herself, she grabbed him by hand. “Let’s go.”

With burns and soot on them they should be a sorry sight. While she could not speak for herself, she thought that he looked surprisingly majestic; like a King. With the hold on his hand, which he returned, they walked over the lava.

The heat was immense. The shoes worked and yet the heat attacked her body. It evaporated the water inside her, she could feel slowly getting thirsty. It also aggravated the wounds, and sometimes it bubbled.

Then, they reached the immobilised, stunned prince of elementals that they needed to crack open. “Hurt him, a lot.” Ilusa told Astor, looking at him with confidence and after last squeeze to his hand she withdrew her hand, looking around this new zone for those who needed the healing the most. Everyone was coming here, so there were a lot of targets.

Squeezing her wand, she ignored the pain, the heat, the slowly chipping away her own health and new burns. Light filled the wand and then it shot off soaking into the targets, healing them and herself.

Alpha had felt an overwhelming fear when the gorilla had squeezed her tight, threatening to turn her to ash with its fiery body and tremendous strength. Its touch scorched her skin and she felt flesh burn in the treacherous volcano. Yes, fear had gripped her in that moment. She had only died once so far—versus Arachna during her earlier days. She hadn't expected to come close to another death; no, she hadn't wanted to think about the possibility. It wasn't until Gwyn and Elsian had saved her that she truly knew what relief and gratefulness felt like. "Thanks," she coughed and, before long, a wave of magma set her body ablaze again. She screamed for what seemed to be an eternity as an onslaught of flames licked against her injured form. Again. And again. Until her health bar had drained down to a paltry replica of its former self and she knew that, if she tried to do anymore more, she'd surely succumb to her wounds.

Regardless, she soldiered on and, with the magic boots fitted onto her feet, she flew over to where the chaos had erupted and chased after Gwyn. "Don't worry!" she called out, wincing at the pain. She hadn't known Gwyn all too well, only meeting her once or twice, but she knew she had to help as woman as she had helped Alpha herself. "I'll heal you up; just keep going!"

It seems Astor's fantastic hair has drawn the attention of a female Magma Gorilla who rose out of the lava where she has been waiting for an opportunity to court the king. In one jump, the monster would snatch @Astor Balthas off his feet the moment he stepped on Azog and intended on carrying him away for good. Maybe they will have a nice wedding and some happy and healthy flame children together.

You have five hours to kill the beast, before it reaches the edge of Azog and leaps into the lava below.

This gorilla does not give Azog invulnerability.

    [BURNING]

img Looks like luck was on her side. If luck was a thing. For Beretta she liked to think everything was cause and effect. There simply happened to be enough causes to save the day so to speak. The battle had reached it's climax. Beretta watched several others put on some type of magical boots and go running onto the Fire Prince. Her eyes strained in the heat haze to make out much else. Just more shouting and then a roar of commotion from the arrival of reinforcements.

"*Cough* Not the most clean victory but I have to take what I'm given right now."

Battles at this level always were a bit haphazard. The plan was to literally beat a hole into the boss. Beretta's tie suddenly caught fire. She tore it off and lowered her head and covering her mouth with her arm headed for the boots. Putting them on to then charge the boss. A leap from above was followed by a downward dive kick into the elements body, then she sent a double handed fist strike by bringing her torso downward into a crouch.

Yeah this time it burned a great deal.... this was basically a kamikaze attack. Hmmmm.

At this point Alia wasn't even sure what the hell was going on anymore. This wasn't right, right now she took a breath and she focused herself on paying attention to what was going on on the battle field. When they got the boots and the coolant she could barely get things out. She put the boots on though. If there was something that had to be done she was going to help do it. She walked over to Azog and was about to go into an attack with him when she noticed that @Astor Balthas was getting carried away by a Magma Gorilla and well she couldn't let that happen either.

There was the relic team that wasn't there yet which meant then that she could pretty much save Astor and so that's what she was going to do. She was not going to let a team mate die she was going to get him out of the mess that he was in right now whether he wanted her to do it or not. There should be enough of the others that could do what she might not be able to do and she switched her attack to the Magma Gorilla and attacked it in hopes that her efforts would do something to save Astor and possible not be in vain because it was hot and she was tired and she was hoping that she wouldn't burn to death it was not something that she wanted to happen to her. She knew Seto was just as tired too she could tell it in his movements before she struck. This was far too hot.

Everything hurt. Stelluna and Roland had managed to defend against the worst of the attack but she was clearly paying for it now. Smoke covered up everything, the most she could make out was Azog's glow. With a bit of stumbling and maybe some directions, she made her way to the boots, quickly put them on and sprinted to Azog. Plunging her spear into the burning body, she felt the flames lash out against her. Pain seared through her body and she caught fire as well. However, she was still alive and wasn't about to die now. She attempted to put out the worst of the fires before giving up and preparing to strike once more.

Alpha watched as yet another gorilla seemed to leap up from nowhere and (snuggle?) grab onto Astor. Her hairs were on its end and she reacted to the sight with a mixture of exasperation (seriously, why did her boss-who-will-sign-her-candy-filled-paychecks keep on getting into trouble like this? Was he a masochist like in one of those movies that Alpha's parents had tried to hide away underneath the locked television cabinet?) and genuine worry. Her legs and arms ached and burned and hurt in all sorts of ways. Her mind couldn't catch up and, for long periods, she felt nothing but numbness.

Still, with a half-shut eye and a raspy voice, she used her last bit of energy to lace the nearby area with some magic, healing Gwyn, Astor, and the pink-haired girl who had just attacked the gorilla. "Hah," she panted, exhausted from the exertion. A single look at her health meter and she found that she could barely see a red tint. Another look at her thirst meter revealed a desperate situation. "Don't worry," she huffed. Those words might as well have been her catchphrase at this point, she thought humorously. She cracked a weak but confident grin. "We got this!"

In a fortunate turn of events, the lava had stifled its rise. Albeit, their respite found itself ephemeral as that god of fire and hate reared its mighty spear back and flung it forward to the tune of massive damage absorbed by the tanks. However, Ruh Murad was not so fortunate as no one in zone 7 had been prepared to soak the oncoming damage. As that magnificent, sinful spear tore across their zone he winced in tune to a fifth of his health bar being consumed. He would shake this off, knowing there was little time left to spare as the stakes tore through the roof. He saw the supply package drop, his eyes straining through the heat as he rushed to equip a pair of those boots that would carry him to the next zone, the place he had to be. Before then, however, he was swift in pulling up his interface to select his single target healing spell. With little effort he'd imbue the air around @Elysian once again with an enveloping perfume of wispy green. The magic blanketed them, embracing them as it had before with a fresh, revitalizing zing to bolster her against the adversary.

With his action performed, he was determined to move forward to where the rest of his allies had conjugated. With enough focus, he could see their varying health bars: some brimmed with life and determination and others, much like the Felis he healed once again, hung by a weathered thread that threatened to split by the end of this next phase. He couldn't let them down - even if it cost him his very own life at the end of this. His love for them had no comparison, his desire to shepherd was as endless as his love. Ruh found himself fuming on the inside, brimming with anger at his inability to sustain them all, in his current state of experience. He glowered as he moved ahead, putting himself in position for his next spell, as soon as the time was right. He saw another gorilla tearing through the field - he gulped, knowing he had little to offer this time around. Despite his clawing thirst, he would continue to stand tall and proud in resistance to this foul devil.

Well things were certainly moving fast. Kohaku kept silent merely nodding to those in his area and getting ready for a another strike. He was not too happy when the lava came at them though. With no tanks it really hurt. He was not happy to be esstientally burning to death. He was a pyromancer as well and it sucked that he couldn't use his magic on this thing. He took a deep breath trying to catch his calm once again as coolant came down and everyone tried what the could to slow the lava which worked. He on the other hand put on magic boots that would allow him to get to the big guy. And that was right where he was headed. He was too pissed right now to not go that way.

He took a breath when he got there and growled at the fact that being on top of the damn thing only hurt more. Damn this burning. Damn everything. He calmly notched his hand cross bow and eyes bared into the spot in which he was aiming. Yes once this thing fell all would be well. But yet he remembered they had to watch out for the relic team too. Still he was too pissed to heed much warning about anything and he shot the big thing that he was standing on. If this was to last much longer he didn't care about dying now. He just wanted it dead.

    ***Last cycle***

Aporia heard a rumble, which all things considered, down where they were, wasn't something particular unique or alarming. However----the fur on Aporia's tail stood on end. Slowly turning she saw....

A colossal wave of lava coming her wave.

    Really...?

Considering Zone 9's position was supposed to be a spire, at the moment, it seemed more like an ocean buoy.

    "Hahaha, fine. Bring it."

Raising one of the remaining jars of pickle juice over her head she drenched herself like she had just scored a winning touchdown.

Raising both arms upward and opening them in an embrace she let the lava crash over her.

    ***Current Cycle***

Aporia is currently hugging one of the coolant canisters like a body pillow to help her aching body. She was going to help roll the things over into the lava, but before she could even get started, the task was already over.... Not that she minded in the least.

Suddenly---however--- there was yet -----another----- announcment

    "Oh come on!"

    "..."

    "..."

    "..."

"...So I just have to somehow survive right? Booooosssss Aporia wants her raiseee afffterallll~!"

Heaving, Aporia gathered what liquid supplies she had left and used some spare rope to tie her claimed coolant contraption to her back. The coolness she felt on her back was simply divine. Strapping on the lava boots, Aporia sighed.

    "Almost forgot!"

Turning back, Aporia used her 'Rogue' ability Slight of Hand Salvage to stuff a few more of those wonderful cooling machines into the bottom of her bags where they, surely, wouldn't be missed.

    "Okay! -Now- I'm ready!"

    *THEME*

Puffing up her chest Aporia waded into the hellhole that was Zone 5 and distributed recycled rain water, pickle juice, and maybe a couple jars of secretly siphoned sweat. She had been planning on selling the last variety in a certain totally reputable back alley for substantial profit, but hey, desperate times called for desperate measures.

    Hope I don't die~!
