    BURNING

Ooh boy, not great. So first she was holed up pretty well on a bridge, and then people started moving to the spires because the lava started rising, and now all this smoke! She could barely see anything happening right now with how thick all this noxious smoke was. As it was, she barely caught the pair of magic boots that was tossed her way and quickly shoved them on her feet to follow the nearest humanoid shape she could find.

And it turned out that they were headed straight to Azog. Well. Ash supposed it wasn't the worst plan. Nowhere else to go, and it looked like Azog was getting pretty stuck in the thick, cooling magma.

And of course, just when it looked like everything was going according to plan, more monsters showed up! Wonderful. Two of them, the ones that looked like they would heal Azog, were essentially blasted to pieces before they reached what little ground was left. But there were other tiny creatures that scattered across Azog, looking to free the elemental from his hardening prison of stone.

Well, Ash couldn't let that happen. This close to the intense heat, Ash didn't think any of her plants would survive. So, might as well do a bit of old fashioned golfing practice, right? She gave her quarterstaff a few practice swings and then aimed for one of the tiny creatures nearby-

-and watched as it raised a hand, and her staff crumbled into blackened ashes in her grasp.

O-oh. Right. Her staff was made of wood. "Ah... damn it," she muttered, as the tiny bearded creature cackled, and continued remelting the stone into magma.

New arrivals... he just did not stop didn't he. She doubted that the group had much left in them but she still had life in her veins. If there was one thing she could to, it was fight. She charged across the cooled magma once more, turning away from Azog. She just hoped that someone else would be able to put him down before they all got put down. One of the Gold Beards was shattered as Stelluna's copper spear smashed into it. The beasts were weak but putting something down herself felt good. She only wished that they bled, it would help with the heat after all.

The heat coming from Azog lessened a bit, but it's still painful even just to stand. Corvella looked around, seeing her teammates ready to drop to their knees. They have made this far, they wouldn't fail now!

Except suddenly there is a reinforcement coming from enemy's side once again. "You gotta be kidding me!" They are lesser than their earlier counterpart, but is now accompanied by tiny, golden beards. Things couldn't be weirder right now. Other people have finished the small creatures with one strike, it doesn't seem that they are strong enough to withstand any damage at all. She sprinted and bashed her shield in a forward motion to nearest tiny gold beard, destroying it completely.

Ozwin looked around him as everything started getting and sat down to have a drink and watch the others rush at the boss while taking time to put the boots on carefully. Ah seems this nonsense was about to be over one way or another. He drank and watched as the others gave it everything they had and nodded in appreciation as they started slaughtering the mobs that began to appear. He finished off his rum and tossed it aside because who would want to do this shit sober, right before charging down himself for the final spurt.

The others were taking on the Gold Beards, so Gilgamesh decided to try his luck with the boss, Azog. So, he ran towards it, leaped high into the air thanks to his lean feline physique and executed a vertical spinning slash that segued into a spiraling slash covering a nice sized portion of Azog's body, trying to do as much damage as possible. Luckily for him, he was able to pull it off more or less as he had hoped, so he kicked off Azog and then landed next to his group, wondering if he was going to die or not since his HP gauge was looking pretty empty now that it had dropped all the way into the red zone.

Deciding not to tempt fate, he called out to anyone within earshot

"Yo, I need some healing and thirst replenishing right about now. Is anyone nearby that can help me out?"

The excitement was becoming almost too much now as Temperance bounced and bumbled her way to the portal, only to finder herself falling through the sky and onto a large contraption that... hovered in the air! Somehow, despite all reason, it clung to the sky in exactly the same way that bricks didn't, and as she climbed down into the safety of its passenger areas, she saw additional ships heading her way. They arrived, escorted her to the ground, shuffled her to a spire, tossed her boots, and pointed at the giant battle raging in the middle of everything. She was so flipped turned upside down that wasn't sure what to do! So, puffing her cheeks out, the little priestess marched down into the volcano wearing the heavy ugly boots she had been provided, watching as everyone battled little monsters and the big menace in the center.

She was preparing to hurl a bolt of ice at Azog when she saw a familiar shape nearby... her cloak! Running over to it, or at least waddling full throttle in the awkward boots, she neared the flapping fabric and beheld the sad sight of Ivan crushed on the ground, having missed one of those big floating thingies. Frowning, she knelt and placed her hands upon the man, summoning the most powerful spell she knew... to restore life to the man, and bring his soul peacefully back to his mended body. Rejuvenated. Restored. Revitalized. Refreshed.

Nudging Ivan with a hand, she shook him until he opened his eyes, smiling down at him and offering him a hand up.
"You died but I brought you back, you silly IDIOT. Relic girl is up on one of those floaty cloud houses they have, I think they plan to throw her bitch ass down into Azog's mouth or something! I found you... looks like you didn't land on one of their cloud houses like we did! But that's okay, I brought you back. Now you said you regretted the choices you made and that the place you wound up isn't what you thought it would be! Well, the Ynglar Brotherhood are some magicians who have been helping us, from what I've heard shouted around tonight... maybe you could work with them, and get a second change at things, okay! I'm sure they'd value whatever knowledge you could share about your old cult, and give your powerful magic a good, helpful purpose!" She glanced around, seeing that many were nearing their limits and about to collapse.
"Okay I've gotta run now, but you think about that mister! I expect you to be a reformed and proper sir the next time I see you!"

_____Alice was still angry but as she got closer to the group and saw Lucia she calmed down for the most part. Seeing another small creature trying to break the lava as she picked it up and dropped it to kick it against a rock to get it away from her and vent the rest of her rage. A slow inhale before Alice took off running towards Lucia and tried to hug the mage with a smile across her face. She finally got to give her a hug. The small faerin dangling from the girl’s neck as she started to cry.

”It was so scary over there… I just wanted to hug you and then there was the lava and all the fighting.. And… and.. Lucia I missed you…”

_____Alice would hang for a few more moments before moving up to kiss Lucia's cheek before she fell down and turned to look at Azog, he was the reason everything had happened. But she also did not feel as angry when she first returned. Blinking slowly as she backed away, if something went wrong she wanted to watch it and recall it as the very reason she gave up trying to be a hero or help during big events like this.

    BURNING

The intensity of the situation found itself with no parallel, an onyx cloud beyond their realm of vision had begun to slowly descend on the party, outwardly promising death on a select few if the proper actions weren't being taken. His veil clung to his skin, sweat running in beads down his taut caramel skin as his turban seemed stained. Even with the relative breeziness of his clothing, it did little to offer him relief at the very pits of hell as they stood so close to the great prince of ash. A sneer tugged at the corner of his lips, but only the outline of it seemed visible beneath the cloth. His eyes were intense, determined to see it through until the very end - regardless of what little air each heaving breath could draw, despite the tightness of his throat.

A rift tore the fabric of this reality asunder. His had rose to catch his sinking heart as a barrage of refreshed imps and fiends poured out from the tear. He bolstered himself, prepared to run at them with a stalwart stance. His shoulders were squared, his knees bent and he'd find himself bouncing on his feet until his allies rushed forward with the same intent. They proved merciless in their actions, teaming together to shatter the existence of the Kindling beasts, others' raw passion directed towards the tiny bearded creatures. He stood straight, straightening as he watched briefly - there was no sense in him aiding this onslaught as these tried and true warriors charged with a roar in their hearts, one with such intensity that they threatened to shake the very core of this hell pit and Azog himself.

He drew a sharp breath through the clinging veil, knowing what he needed to do instead. He was swift in conjuring his interface, swiping until he found a different category of healing magic. In selecting the skill he would clap his hands together, his palms sliding apart as one dipped north and the other south to move in a counter-clockwise manner. The human would shut his eyes, his hands coming together once more with an intensity as a haze of formed over a select few. His love found itself manifested like rain from a cloud as it sprinkled over them, revitalizing their wellness only the slightest. He glowered, disappointed in the results, but the magic seemed potent enough to spare at least one from certain death if their situation hadn't deescalated by ash prince's next action; those lucky recipients had been @Seto Kurama , @Elysian and @Aporia Calvaros .

He returned his sights on Azog, backing up slowly to keep the others in his line of vision. There was no telling how much longer this could go on, but he'd fight for everyone until breath no longer passed those doors of breath. With no warning he staggered forward, catching himself as his body had been ravaged by the ache to crumble at his knees. He coughed briefly before slowly raising himself back up. He knew he hadn't longer in this world at its current pace. He bolstered himself, preparing for his next action should a surprise come.

Retreating from Ivan, Temperance began to scamper across the hardened lake of lava, glad that the boots protected her at least marginally from its intense heat. She was no fool though, and knew that such fresh 'stone' was easily broken... she would want to find somewhere safe once this fight with Azog neared its final seconds, in case he... maybe exploded? That would rupture the surface and cause people to sink into the fire, oh no!

"IVAN!!! CLIMB UP ON A SPIRE AND WAIT FOR RESCUE!!!" she shouted to her new friend, hoping that he'd get to safety and not ruin her hard work of shoving his soul back into his body like the stuffing of a worn out bear.

Nearing the massive form of Azog, she spotted several figures approaching him ready to deliver their final blows so that Eleanor could make her leap of faith and end things. She scrunched up her face and wiggled her nose, unsure of who to cast her blessing on.

Despite his words, the heat quickly overwhelmed him enough to drop to his knees as he watched his HP meter slowly decreasing. At this rate, he won't able to survive this battle for any longer. Also for the first time in his life, he felt very helpless as he was on the ground, just like the time he was usually bullied during his high school days. He was about to drop dead and let the heat drain his HP...

That is until the woman's voice declared the relic team's return. And it was not only that changed the battle as he witnessed the airships dropped some water on Azog, which was enough to lower the heat around him. That was enough for Verity to stand up as he gasped to recover himself. "Okay... Looks like we should finish this..."

With that said, he quickly charged in and without him pulling out his panel, he chanted the Latin spell as electricity started to gather in his other hand once more. Gritted his teeth, he quickly slashed the elemental's burning body before he shouted with his glare focused on the boss, "Thunder Burst!"

The electricity from his hand quickly exploded, which sent a burst of it to Azog. Unfortunately, his attack quickly drained him a lot with the added heat from the battlefield, which caused him to fell into the ground unconscious.

Grim notions soured the man's demeanor. His blood lust had not yet been tamed, a Berserker who knew nothing more than to end the pathetic life of his foes who dared to harm those around them. Most of these players around Alonso had a decent chance of being his children's age. Playing around was no longer an option. Nobody wanted to traverse a landscape thrust into a fallout winter, all due to the failures of some ragtag group who tried to halt the crimes of a fire prince. Yet, the bearish man could not do it alone. Someone else nearby needed to assist him, and by the logs in the world chat, tried eyes scanned the arena for signs of @Ozwin Ahab.

He was not too far off, as Alonso called over to him, "We end this. NOW."

Using yet another roar, its proud echo matching the incessant sputtering of Azog, Alonso charged the demon who remained a threat to those too innocent to be punished by disaster. Within moments his narrowed eyes closed off all other detriments to his focus. His fists clenched with the might of a feral beast, one who had no qualms about striking down an intruder within his territory. Alonso reached the head of the fire prince, giving his first punch a wide arc, then a second, and a few rapid punches before he grabbed part of the prince's cheek to tear it off.

In tandem with Ozwin's attacks, he leapt upwards, coming down on the boss's forehead, "YOU WILL NEVER BE A KING, YOU SNIVELING LITTLE SHIT BAG!"

    "ALPHA KING'S PUNISHMENT!"

Alonso slammed clasped fists into the boss's forehead as he landed the divine aura relishing its power around the man's untamed body. Bouncing off the boss, he landed on the lava ground and grabbed the top portion of Azog's head. Pulling back on it, he tried to pin the fire prince's head down so @Eleanor Loan can make her leap of faith, "Eleanor! End this for us now!"

Ozwin stared up at the crumbling Duke of Matchsticks and gave a relieved sigh. Looks like this was all wrapping up to a close now. He gazed around quickly at the other players who had worked much harder than he had and grinned mischievously. Holding his trident in one hand he covered the weapon in electricity in such a fashion it appeared much larger. He looked over to Alonzo with a grin and began running alongside the huge buff guy straight at the monster, matching his steps as they ran.

"Oi! Shitcano! You got something on your face!" Ozwin shouted at the massive fire elemental, using the magic boots and his aeromancy to push him as he ran up the monster. The trident in his hands channeled more and more electricity, more than he had ever previously managed.

Alonso pried the monster's mouth open and ripped into its cheek with the move. Ozwin hopped into the open mouth, slashed the other cheek, and rammed the lightning trident straight up into the giant's skull prevented it from closing its mouth and opening its head like a pez dispenser and exposing the throat to the balloons above. "IT WAS PAIN!!!" Oh HOTHOTHOTHOT Pain setting on realistic stupid idea!

He looked back out the mouth with a pained expression and shouted, " @Eleanor Loan express entrance! Jump!"

Sylpha knew that when she came out of the rift, Azog would meet his end. So, once the little critters went down, she immediately opened her palm menu and selected the screenshot button. Well, the one she's been abusing like crazy for a while now.

Even if a picture can never beat the experience of being at the scene, she wanted it for her own reference. If there was any upsides to sharing it, then she'd do that too. However, she needed to take actually take them.

Thus, she aimed at Azog, just in time to catch the scene of the last of his health being taken. Changing her mind at the last second, she recorded a video instead. Unlike the temple where she had limited time as everyone was waiting on her to find the relic, she could now steady herself. Nothing would swoop in last second. Hopefully.

Knowing the scene was yet to end, she kept the camera aimed up at Azog's mouth, waiting for Eleanor to jump in. She kept Azog's mouth at the bottom of the screen so that there would be enough space to capture Eleanor's fall into it.

Yes, she got to capture everything the other players were saying.

It'll probably make them the laughingstock of the community for a bit (assuming there even was one), but they'll still earn the respect of having the last hits on the boss and for looking cool doing it.

  3. Eleanor had come to enjoy observing the conflict going on, seeing so many adventurers working together. Though, just as most things that work as distractions for a terrifying future event, these events seemed to conclude far too quickly for comfort, and it was time for her inevitable plunge. She clung to the moments as the balloon finished it's trip towards her drop site, before glancing down towards the woman with the purple hair. "Alright, heh..." Eleanor spoke, not really sure what to say, "Okay."

She stared down towards @Alonso Thorlion and @Ozwin Ahab, as they called for her, inching her way to the edge of the balloon for her leap. The moment reminded her of when she was learning to swim as a child. She remembered looking around, and seeing all of the others dive head first into the waters until it was only her, little Niko that remained, timidly staring at the surface from the side. Those teaching her, many family and relatives, eventually convinced her to slowly dip into the water, as she was not brave enough to dive, through one simple fact: That she would not drown no matter what.

Even if it was just a game, it felt like jumping out of an airplane without a parachute, something the woman would have trouble with even with one. Seeing the mouth of the beast pried and propped open by Ozwin and Alonso. Looking around, she saw all the others, waiting on her. This was the moment that it all came down to. All of the work, leading up to this...

She still had the temptation to log off, as her heart rate was at a constant, probably unhealthy level of rapidity, but there was an obligation here. "Okay." Eleanor took one last glance down towards the open maw of the beast, before closing her eyes. "Okay." She whispered again, muttering to calm herself down. After a few deep breaths, she finally took the leap.

It had taken a few moments to convince her timid limbs that they were not leaping into an inevitable death. The thought of such had brought her joints to a stale, and unresponsive state. Only when Eleanor closed her eyes could she convince them to act. Feeling the hot air rushing past her face, it felt as if she had become like a comet. Eleanor opened her eyes, only to see herself plummeting rapidly into the open jaws of the fire beast. Everything was moving far too quickly. Before falling within, her hat flipped off of her head, flapping off away from her. Falling face first... She hoped it wouldn't be gruesome.

But there wasn't much time for hoping, as a moment later, impact. A splash of discomfort, a throb of heat in her neck, shoulder, and chest, like red paint splashed against a white wall, and then... Nothing.

  4. Travelling in these dimension portal-like things was getting on her nerves. This time around, it seemed that because of the circumstances in which Ivan had to set up the portal the travel was even worse. If Ursula were to compare this to something, it would be like hammering down molten ore until you got rid of all impurities, except that she was the molten ore and the plane astral magic were the hammer giving her a good beating. Suddenly, they left the hellish portal and arrived at Vulpus… Except they were falling free in the sky. Travelling through body bending portals was not enough, apparently! Adrenaline kicked in and despite the pain she felt, Ursa couldn’t help but enjoy their current situation.

“YEEEEHAW, MOTHERQUACKERS! WE'RE BACK, BUT YA KNOW, THIS IS SO AAAAAAAAWESOME!” She screamed as the wind offered resistance to her fall… Or at least she thought she screamed. The truth is, all of her shouting was nothing but a bunch of incomprehensible babbling thanks to how the air filled her mouth and revealed surprisingly pure-white teeth.

But then, she suddenly hit something soft enough to make a safe landing of sorts. Apparently, those magical people were for their rescue - thank god, or else she’d end up splashing at full force in a pool of lava. Unfortunately, the same couldn’t be said about Ivan — Ursa used her rocket arm trying to snatch the Astral Mage, but her device’s speed wasn’t enough.

Shortly, she could see herself down in Vulpus again as she received equipment proper for fighting Azog on the pool of lava, but first, she had to put her steam mech to work. In the end, though, Ursula could only watch from zone seven with a large grin on her face as the adventurer’s teamwork happened before her eyes while she fixed her steam machine. She couldn't see with a great too many details because of the smoke... Did they manage to defeat it?
