    Dunnstads Schönheit Wettbewerb
Dunnstads isn't well-known for its fashion district; the agricultural and immigration-based area being ridiculed frequently by the haute couture of Stokbon one too many times. Their newest beauty contest, however, will be challenging that stereotype. Schönheit Wettbewerb is the biggest competition in Dunnstads for the explicit purpose of showing that country folks can pull off fashionable wear...and they're looking for entrants to prove it!

Dress to impress and win their valuable reward: a mysterious egg which seems to be a conglomeration of various fabrics and materials. A peculiar prize, to be sure, but you'd also be earning some bragging rights and showing your nature charm and charisma to the world! Wouldn't that be fun?

Instruction: Describe, in a post with a minimum of 250 words and a maximum of 500 words, how you dressed for the competition and what you did to dazzle the judges. Roll a 4d20 at the end of your post and tally up the total for your score. Add +.5 per tier (excluding 'Trash') for every piece of armor you have. The highest score after 24 hours will win the egg.

    Code:
    [dice]4xd20[/dice]

    NOTICE:

» You may only obtain one Mystery Egg per week; this limit resets every Sunday.

» If you currently have a Mystery Egg on any of your character, you will not be able to participate for a reward.

Falderen was a place full of all sorts of funny places and fun activities! After seeing the hustle and bustle of Stokbon's giant city streets, Temperance continued her little pilgrimage of world seeing and made her way south and east onto the peninsula of the Dunnstads region. There, she had waded through the beaches and felt the sand and waves on her toes, cooled by autumn waters and warmed by the afternoon sun. It seemed that many were enjoying the leisure as well, with lovers camping out on the dunes and having romantic picnics, whilst fishermen returned from their morning catches with large hauls to take to market. Everything seemed just about perfect!

Moving from the beaches, she wandered into the city and began to roam its packed street, patting the horses that wandered by. A large crowd near the area drew her eye and she wandered towards it, pulling her cloak tight around her to keep it from catching on anybody's belts or rings or sword hilts as she passed them.

    Wow!

Some grand event was going on, with all kinds of county bumpkins and milk maids posing in their clothing, showing off the day to day wear of the layman. Clapping along with the crowd, Temperance watched the show for awhile, until a man calling himself a 'talent scout' found her in the crowd and told her she ought to try modeling a costume as well. Unsure but seeing no reason not to, she followed him to a place called 'wardrobe' where 'hair and makeup' helped her out of her clerical vestments and into the shirts, shorts, stockings and buckled shoes of a Stagecouch Boy whose job it was to open the doors for carriages and haul luggage around. Wandering out onto the stage, Temperance did a few laps and poses, before going to retrieve her own clothing again.

    What fun!

  3. Alpha stepped out onto the podium with a flourish of glitter and glue-on pieces of fabric and foam stickers. Despite her ragged looks, she had stepped out in an elegant twirl with a bounce to her step. The gracefulness was fully attributed to her skills as a rogue and she hadn't ever thought she'd use her innate mobility for a situation like this. Regardless, she enjoyed it very much; especially when the cheers of the crowd grew louder despite the initial silence upon seeing Alpha's outfit.

"Heya folks!" she called out, fingering the rose on her canine ear. A spark of mischievousness tickled her mind and she felt a sudden urge to do something. "Alphabet Chocolate of Vermilion," she started, bowing to introduce herself with a sly grin that was hidden by the shade of her hair. "It's nice to see you guys!" she cackled and, with her green nature magic, began to dance. It was of no particular style and her moves were wild but fluid, somehow entrancing the audience with this surprising display of nonconformity. As they watched, however, she gathered bits of magic at her fingertips and, as she finished up, gave a pat to each of the judges and transferring a bit of magic through them.

"Thank you!" she declared before stepping away, a nasty laughter threatening to crawl out of her throat. Ha! Surely she, Alphabet Chocolate, was the vilest of fiends. For a month straight, those judges won't be able to taste anything except broccoli! She giggled at their suffering and silently thanked Vermilion for this opportunity to show her true evil to the world.

  4. Kyupin giggled as she twirled around once more, the skirt of her dress spinning with her. It was nice; taking a break from all the fighting and dying and crying her heart out. She needed this kind of simplicity, stepping back and dressing up like a child playing pretend again.

It probably helped that the assistants had been so friendly with her too, cooing over her looks and petting her hair. Some even scratched her ears! She hadn’t expected it to feel so nice. But it had. It had felt amazing. She needed to get those ears scratched more often. It just wasn’t the same when she did it herself.

Slipping through the curtains, Kyupin faced the crowd with a brilliant smile. For a moment, there was silence. Judgement. Curiosity. Some might’ve been nervous by the quiet that filled the area, but Kyupin? Kyupin almost enjoyed it - it gave her time to look. To really look. She looked at each and every person sitting in that audience, having an extraordinary day watching a fashion competition. That was the strangest their lives would get. Seeing them like this, simple and content, made her heart swell with fondness. This was what she fought for. To protect the little joys.

    She wanted to impress them.

Her nimble feet guided her into a beautiful twirl. The skirts of her dress flew, colours blending together in a kaleidoscope of fabrics. Her hair, usually bound, was let loose, waving in the breeze. Perhaps the strangest part was with her bare feet. In such an extravagant outfit, the bare feet brought a hint of humility to it.

She looked at the judges. Smiling, waving and curtseying. There were cheers in the crowd, a small one that spread like wildfire, encouraging the others to cheer as well.

Kyupin flushed, her cheeks aching from the force of her grin. And then she turned, and left. Maybe the judges thought it was horrible. Maybe they loved it. Did it really matter? Kyupin trotted back to the dressing rooms, letting them fawn over her and undress her once more. Soon, she’d head back to the dirty life of an adventurer.

But that was later. And this was now.

“Oooh, just a little to the left~ Purrrrrfect!”

  5. Ohh! A fashion contest!! Ash had never entered one of these in real life, but there wasn't any reason not to try, right? While fidgeting in line waiting for her turn to go up on stage, Ash hit upon a brilliant idea: she had a bit of nature magic, right? And she usually carried a couple of plant seeds with her? Why not spruce up her dress with a bit of flowers? People usually loved flowers.

Humming cheerfully, Ash made little vines of delicate flowers twirl around the sleeves of her dress and trail away at the hem of her skirt. A little brush of magic here braided a rose or two in her hair, and another touch here for a daisy chain necklace...

There we go! Perfect! And just in time too, looked like she was up!

This was hardly the time to get nervous about how many people were staring, so Ash held her head up high and gave a big smile to the people as she stepped forward. Spotting the judges, Ash gave them a little bow and continued walking onwards.

While she was doing a bit of a twirl to show off her dress, a she had a brilliant idea. Why not use magic to give her outfit a little touch of liveliness to it? So, as she spun around for her next turn, she sent a bit more magic to the flowers in her hair, making more flowers bloom until it it looked like her long hair had transformed into petals halfway down her back.

That done, Ash grinned once more and turned to march back off the stage, leaving a small trail of petals behind her as she left. That was exciting! And fun! Who cared if she won or not, she was just having a great time!

  6. No price of entry meant nothing to lose! But, as Aporia debated what, exactly, she should wear to such a fancy-shmancy competition...she was left feeling somewhat at a loss. It wasn't exactly like she could import her real-life wardrobe into the game. Fussing over her hair, Aporia twirled once, twice, three times in front of the mirror.

"But aren't I ----all things considered---- already pretty cute...? Hmmmm..."

Deep in thought, Aporia finally shrugged. After taking herself in, she was already pretty stylish, or at least, she felt so. It wasn't like she didn't put a lot of thought into her appearance everyday:

    -Cute, playful bangs.
-A mature but feminine bow, half-tying back well-brushed red hair.
-An exotic Kimono complimented with a risky but rustic western frilled apron.
-A dignified obi drawing the eye to her well-toned back-line and rear.
-Another blue bow at her chest to draw the eye to her adorably animated face and brilliant amber eyes.
-Thigh-highs at just the right shade to match her hair, Perfect for symmetry!
    -An AT field....

What else could there possibly be to add?

Well- there was one thing for special occasions, a simple ruby rouge produced by her alchemy. Running a dainty finger across her bottom lip, she applied the color. Though it wasn't a beauty contest, a little character didn't hurt to bring out the maturity that was usually well regulated to her eyes.

Aporia ruled that it wasn't simple arrogance to take pride in the effort she usually took in her day to day appearance. She did her best to look different, she did her best to look cute, and her outfit was oozing with personality----hers.

    "Being oneself should be allowed!"

Puffing up her chest, Aporia winked into the mirror and giggled.

Flier in hand, she set out to explore the festival.

Win or lose, it should be fun to see everyone~

  7. They all seemed to be having so much fun, but Gwyn? Oh, Gwyn was not made for such a thing. When she had come across the little fashion show while traveling through the Dunnstads she had stopped from the shock of seeing one at all rather than actual interest in it. She didn't care to watch it really and she cared even less to join it, but the archer found herself clapping along as players she knew and those she didn't came and went across the stage. She clapped for @Kyupin Felnya the loudest, pleased to see the sweet friend she had made enjoying herself. She enjoyed a little happiness after their charged conversation in Stokbon a while back. The crowd certainly adored her and Gwyn snorted in amusement at that. Catgirls. It was always the catgirls. @Aporia Calvaros only proved it further even if the judges still seemed most captivated by the show @Alphabet Chocolate had put on. Then again, she appeared to have added ears and a tail to her ensemble.

Outclassed, but not one to back away from a challenge, Gwyn moved forward into the awaiting hands of the assistants. The ranger didn't know she wouldn't like it and it wasn't acceptable to knock it before trying it.

She did, however, curb their enthusiasm to 'doll her up' as one lady offered. Instead, she allowed them to help straighten her ruffled appearance. One of the men present gave her a flat and almost obnoxiously pointed look when he found a leaf crushed into one of her rolled up sleeves. The worst of it was brushing out her ponytail and letting her hair down, reminding her that she might want to consider a haircut. It was near to halfway down her thighs at this point. Oh well.

At least she didn't have to fend off nerves. Judges and attendees were of little concern to her and Gwyn walked onto the stage without a moment of hesitation. There were no swirling skirts, no delicate laces, no adorable tail or fancy magic to help her. Her hunting leathers were shined and the marks of wear and tear only added a rustic charm to them. The talented weave of the Yladian jerkin and pants she wore caught some eyes from what she could tell past the lights. The leather pants were embroidered with animals caught in action tearing through delicate lines of tree trunks and ferns while the jerkin was woven of leaves and armored with thin bark backed by leather. The small flowers woven into the seams and dotted across the fibers were reminiscent of baby's breath and matched her eyes, much to the pleasure of one of the attendants before.

Gwyn was not the type to curtsy or spin or strike a pose. No, the most obvious thing about her was her stalwart personality. And so, when prompted, she bowed. The toe of her right boot was tucked behind the heel of her left and she folded one arm across her waist and the other across her back. Her hair fell in a thick sheet of gold around her for a moment before she rose from the formal bow with a slight grin growing on her face. Alright, so it was a little fun after all.

  9. Amane was idly strolling through Dunnstad, her pace slow as she stopped every now and then to admire the scenery that surrounded her, sea and sky stretching for miles, all the way until the edge of the horizon, a picture of infinity. It was unbelievably calming, especially after the hectic action that was the world boss, to just take a breather and remind herself that Terra Sphere was a lot more than its quests and fights — that its world was a beauty all on its own too. There was much to enjoy: the warmth of the sun, the sea breeze, the sand beneath her shoes. And in her shoes, she realised, to her dismay. It had been a long time since she had last been to a beach, and the more unglamorous details had slipped her mind — like how wearing anything but slippers to it was tantamount to inviting hell. Somehow, they had even gotten into her socks.

As she struggled to clear her geta, balancing precariously on one foot, tail swishing agitatedly in an attempt to maintain her balance, a couple passed her by, remnants of their conversation carried to her by the salty winds. "...country fashion...contest...showcase is in the city, heard some players are even participating...something about...pet egg though?..." Oh, was that a mini pet egg contest? She thought as the NPC pair left the beach. She wasn't a particularly big fan of mini pets, unlike some players she knew, but she didn't have anything pressing to get to now, so it couldn't hurt to try. Besides, she was curious to find out what kind of contest it'll be.

Several minutes later, Amane found herself in front of the stage, debating the merits of getting what looked to be a one-of-a-kind egg...and embarrassing herself in front of a dauntingly large crowd, or cutting her loses and fleeing. As she watched other people, NPC and players alike, flaunt their outfits in front of a panel of judges, the latter option was sounding more and more appealing by the second. But before she could take her leave, an overenthusiastic assistant ran up to her, grabbing her hand without fanfare and began dragging her behind the stage. "Your clothes look gorgeous," she gushed. "From what town do they originate from?"

"Oh no, I'm not participating——" Amane tried to explain with a laugh, but the assistant was having none of it, quickly dragging out some outfits while muttering ominously under her breath, "...would these fit?......or these..." The mage's more ornate pieces of clothes were quickly removed, replaced by the more country looking fare of simple, plainly died cloths. In no time at all, she was ushered in line, the bewildered felis resigning herself as her turn to go on stage approached. A plastic thin smile on her lips, she posed stiffly in front of the crowds, her posture picture-perfect in the manner that she'd been trained to adopt during formal events. Ending her display with a slight bow, she stalked off stage.
