Dear Eleanor
There was no pain in Eleanor’s passing, only a stinging sensation in her eyes from the bright light moments earlier. She somehow found herself standing in a grand hall unlike anything she has ever seen in her life. The ceiling was incredibly tall and decorated with the depiction of the gods. Even stranger was that the ceiling painting was animated, its rich color moving ever so subtly, a clear sign of a magical artist if there ever existed one.
All around Eleanor was a practically empty room. There were doric columns that lined the perimeter of the hall, completed with a torch propped up on the same level as her face. Beyond the hall seemed to be the darkness, blanketed with all manner of stars, nebulas and galaxies. If Eleanor had the guts to come toward the edge, she would be able to see that she was in a realm unlike her own. It was somewhere mystical… the hall was literally in the midst of the cosmos. Where on earth is Eleanor?
Before she was consumed by questions, a cloaked figure approached her. If Eleanor concentrated her gaze, she would be able to make out that the woman had snow white hair and a cloth around her eyes, all of which are shrouded underneath her hood.
“Child, it seems you have been able to retrieve my relic and extinguished the Prince of Fire,” the woman sighed softly as she looked out into the cosmos beyond the hall. “It seems so long ago that I had been with him, and even within that time, he has not change. Always one to be consumed by fear, jealousy, and ambitious. Although I am a bit regretful that he had not redeem himself, I am glad he won’t be able to haunt the mortal realm again.”
Turning her attention back to Eleanor, the woman spoke with a soft voice resembling that of a lullaby, “since you so willingly sacrificed yourself for the sake of others, I will grant you one question to ask of me about anything you would like to know. I am one who can see the future and the past equally and I can see that you are not of this world. It does not matter to me which world you would like to inquire about.” The mysterious woman smiled.
