  1. Vermillion Manor

img The Vermillion Manor had been more active than usual lately. Mostly due to the hyperactive nature of the current 'fresh blood', @Alphabet Chocolate . Vermillion was used to her fair share of girls throughout the centuries. This new one was leaning on the more wild side. that wild playfulness was what the crimson noble liked about her though. After spending so many years in the manor or becoming jaded enough, the girls she kept became less interesting to keep around. ABC had the potential to be a good jester for her. Today Vermillion was working a bit more to reinforce her views unto the rogue.

"Your rose is utterly the definition of gorgeous today. Although we could perhaps improve your wardrobe. It is somewhat beneath you. My BFFs are above the rabble of this distorted world. You are my treasure.... "

She cooed as she stroked Alphabet's head with her hand. They were in a lounge that had a slightly overweight farmer from some village magically bound to the floor nearby.. A sacrifice that certain villages did to appease the Arch Vampire when she was in the area. She kept them around the manor for a quick feed or to just entertain herself with giving the filthy men their just deserts. Pain and torment. Vermillion looked at the poor fellow who squirmed helpless on the floor.

"Hmhmhm... what do you think he does with himself day in and day out? Completely unaware of how filthy he is and unable to do anything meaningful except grow food, If that.... millions starve every day. Scrawny stick people."

She rested herself on a red, ornately carved chair. She took a bite out of a plump apple, her fangs tearing through it like butter. It was a odd contradiction to the delicate way she chewed and swallowed it.

"I grew this without the aid of a man like this. So does this mean he is pointless? ...he is useful to the short lived who will not get beyond sixty if they are lucky. So wrinkled and disgusting. No reason to keep that kind of filth fed. ABC, there are so many better species and planes. This one is nothing better than a breeding ground for a meal. Often a lackluster one."

Vermillion looked at Alphabet again and patted her apple to her lips as she thought for a moment before continuing.

"I know you have friends out there other than me. You are not willing to let them go even if they would you... Surely even in the place you come from. You know that in general, most are not worth the physical effort that went into their birth. That's why I think you could have a few as toys . Have you ever played red light green light? It's rather fun when the player is not willing to play. I might show you how to play the best version when you return."

She took another bite of apple and then rang a small bell that was on the table.

"This farmhand is stinking up my lounge. I'll eat him later. Annette will keep him in the fridge for awhile, hmhmhm. ABC I hope you will learn to stay here much more and stop going back to that outer world. I have heard from Tensai how dreadful that filthy place is. You are a treasure and better than that. Here you have power, and can use that power to get what you want.... and what I want hmhmhm."

Vermillion finished and offered the girl her half ate apple.

"I have a small errand for you. I need to see if you are a good BFF that I can rely on. We have always need of new friends. I am so lonely here... Find us a nice young lady to play with. They have to be a good one though. I do not take just anything. You should know that with how great you are my excitable friend."

Vermillion offered a smile and nodded. She would see how useful this one was, and go from there.

[Alphabet's post can cover both this and her task. @Eldhi may post wherever she would like to be when Alphabet encounters her as well. Vermillion is out of the thread until/if Eldhi is brought back to the manor. Remember that Alphabet can request to be warped to the manor whenever she wishes. That is how you can return if you choose to cover that.]

  2. Alpha blushed, flustered from the refined girl's compliment. Her face colored into a bright red shade which could've competed with Vermilion's apple in terms of hue and saturation. Embarrassed, she hid the lower half of her face with a hand as her stomach had butterflies in it. Demon flower or not, Alpha had always loved praise. "Oh, uh, thanks! Haha!" she attempted to shrug it off as if it hadn't affected her as much as it did. Vermilion was super cool and Alpha definitely wanted to at least emulate her to some extent. It wouldn't do to just humiliate herself in front of her best friend!

She pointedly ignored the tortured man, guilt simmering from the depths of her chest before she quashed it down. The man was just another character of this game. He didn't really matter and she should just enjoy the time she was spending with her amazing, new friend. "Yup," she nodded with a dubious grin accompanying it. Her face was twisted in the way that she didn't mean what she was saying—she only understood Vermilion in the loosest sense—but was hindered by her hesitance to disappoint the aristocratic vampire. Might as well go along at it, she decided. She didn't spare the man another look or thought. His existence became akin to a piece of unwanted and discomforting furniture whose presence went unsaid and forgotten.

And then, when her nickname was spoken again, her face became rapt and her ears flicked to pay full attention to Vermilion's words. "Of course, Vermy!" she reassured the girl with utmost confidence. "This place is much better than back home anyway! I'll still with you till the end, got it?" a vibrant smile replaced her previous uncertainty as she laughed at the mere prospect of leaving this place. A land of constant fun and adventure and everything in between? Who'd want to leave this utopian manor?

Finally, at the end of Vermilion's long-winded talk, Alpha gave a dutiful nod and salute to her benefactor and dearest friend. "I know a bunch of people! Oh, you're gonna love them Vermy—I know Lucia and Rudolf and Eldhi and this girl named Amane I met once and Kyupin and everyone! I'll go see if someone's online and I'll shoot them a message and we could totally have an awesome slumber party!" she enthused, her eyes shifting into starry caricatures. It seemed as if the air glittered around her as she danced around haphazardly.

Without another moment's wait, she excitedly flicked open her closed fist to open her game interface, scrolling through the player directory until she stumbled upon a recognizable name: Eldhi. The first and last time she had seen the girl was on a bounty quest to investigate a ruined town and cult presence and, she was sure, they had an amicable relationship by the time they had separated. She was certain that Eldhi would love to join their party! And she couldn't wait for them to go into Vermilion's doll room and play dress-up and everything!"

@Eldhi ohemgeeee! im gonna be in [Esuilus, Yladia] and uve got 2 come!!! were having a slumber party and everything!! meet ya there!
    *excited

And, as the message was sent, she looked back at Lady Vermilion one more time. "I'll just wait 'till she gets there and then I'll bring her back to your place, Vermy! Then we can have the funnest party ever!"

And, with that, Alpha vanished from the manor.

  3. The fiery calamity brought upon by the Azog the Prince of Fire was extinguished by the brave heroes, whether they be players or NPCs. Such a shame that Eldhi couldn't participate in the events, exams were coming up and though she was home-schooled, it didn't mean her parents would let her slack off on her duties. When she logged back in, Azog and his volcano had been tamed. Ah well, perhaps next time. Besides, Eldhi wasn't sure she could make it until the end with her character masteries, burning to a crisp was not a fun prospect.

As a result of their triumph, it was another lovely day in the World of Terrasphere, free from volcanic ashes and flowing lava. "I wonder why did he lose... maybe he should have titled himself 'King of Fire', being just a prince sounds... short." That was why she must attain a name worthy of Tyl! She must not end up like Azog, losing because of a half-assed title, yep, that was definitely the reason. To do that, she must gather more experience and sparring was one viable method.

"Hyaah!" Currently, Eldhi was in Astorea, participating with a group of other sword-wielding players in a forest clearing, using it as their arena to hold a 'tournament' of sorts, using practice weapons as they tried to beat each other into submission. The white-haired knight had just downed an opponent, bowed, and then went to the side to take a break when she received a message notification. Oh, wonder who could it be?

Opening the console, a bright smile fell on her tanned features, "Alpha!" Yep, it turned out to be her bubbly, cheerful, Kunoichi friend she met a while back in the quest to investigate the 'Black Star' cult or so it was called. She wanted to play, huh? Certainly! Esuilus was just next door from Astorea anyway. Giggling like a silly bunny, Eldhi immediately began 'typing' a message

    img
    Eldhi
@Alphabet Chocolate Hey there, Alpha! Long time to see! Sure thing, I'm in 'Astorea' right now so I can come over there quick! Where shall we meet?

Aaand there, sent! Wiping her sweat with a napkin, it was time to conclude the sparring and have a party with her friend, a slumber party!

    Later on...

Taking inter-region transportation services, Eldhi finally arrived in the region of Esuilus, part of the Yladian territory. "Er..." Eldhi was sure this place should be called 'Mushroom Kingdom' instead, what will all the literally gigantic MUSHROOMS all over the place! Seriously, there were so humongous, they were as tall as trees! This was the place if someone took Zalra and replaced all the crystals with mushrooms, mushrooms, and more mushrooms!

...No wonder why Alpha chose this location, it all made sense now.

Scratching the back of her head, Eldhi kept following the in-game map through her player interface, approaching ever closer to the rendezvous spot marked by Alpha. It was a random clearing surrounded by giant mushrooms, like in a forest, only with mushrooms. "Ehm...?" She couldn't see the girl anywhere, was the ninja girl doing her ninja things again? "Alpha, where are you?" She called out, perhaps louder that she had liked. Let's hope a mushroom monster wouldn't strike now of all places.

  4. Alpha was right about to respond to Eldhi's message before she heard some faint words being spoken through the clearing of wild mushrooms. She perched herself atop one of the vibrant fungi, having waited for Eldhi for a surprisingly short amount of time. A slight confusion fell over her, wondering how Eldhi could've possibly arrived that quick. She shook her head and pulled up her user map, hoping to pinpoint a familiar blip. She could ask Eldhi about it later, when they were at Vermilion's place and sipping milk and munching on cookies and whatnot. At the thought of her refined friend, she tugged a bit on the flower which buried itself behind her ear. It was an awfully uncomfortable addition at times but at least she had that nice rose smell to her and, whenever she got bored, she could idly pluck the petals for some sort of entertainment.

She snapped out of her thoughts when her eyes zoomed onto the spot on the map she had just pulled up; a player dot. Excited shivers ran through her spine and her fingers tingled. Thoughts of what to come encouraged her to move and she practically bounced and leaped and skipped her way closer to Eldhi with a flurry of flowers and stars tracing behind her heels. "Eldhi!" she laughed, quickly launching herself onto the girl's back as she grew closer. She attempted to latch herself onto the unsuspecting girl for a tight, loving hug. "It's been so long!" she whined.

"Ohemgee, you have to meet Vermy! I'm so glad you came and everything! It would've been lonely if Vermy and I had our slumber party by ourselves, you know? I mean, Vermy is cool and everything and she the bestest in the entire world but it just wouldn't be the same without you! Oh, I can bring us there right now! And we can eat all of the chocolate chip cookies with extra chocolate! And muffins! And french toast! And microwaveable pasta!"

She continued to babble on and on without fail. This was going to be the best party ever!

    @Eldhi

  5. Surprised, yet unsurprised, considering it was Alphabet, Eldhi suddenly found herself ambushed! ...by a rather clingy blue-eyed petite brunette who literally attached herself to her back. "H-hey...! Hahaha!" Eldhi giggled, rather ticklish as Alphabet wrapped her limbs around the taller girl's body. Gosh, Alphabet was so short, Eldhi felt like a big sister even though she was the youngest sibling in real life. That's alright~ A little sister was fine too!

"Yep, it has been quite a while." Eldhi gently urged the Kunoichi to climb down from her then turned, facing Alpha... who now had wolf ears and a red rose set just behind her left ear, what curious (and cute) accessories. "Hey, where did you get tho-..." Before she could even finish, Alpha went on an outburst of pure bubbly excitement. Word after word just endlessly streamed from her as swift as her speed.

Something about Vermy... who's Vermy again? Then uh... they had a slumber party? Okay... and Vermy was apparently cool and the best. Seriously, who or what was 'Vermy' again? Were they a player or an NPC or... or... what? Then the topic suddenly veered to chocolate-covered chocolate-chipped cookies, muffins, toast, and ...pasta? Come on, Alpha, slow down a bit! Not everyone was as hyper as you.

"..." Eldhi's eyes, a pair of contrasting red to Alpha's blue, blinked a few times in utter confusion. "Woah..." A barely audible gasp of awe escaped her throat before she briskly shook her head, clearing her throat, alright she... understood some of those words. "Are we seeing a friend of yours then we can have a slumber party together?" At least she got that notion from all that chaos, well, Alpha would correct her anyway, "Sure! Introduce me to her then we can all be friends!"

Oh yeah, before she was sorely interrupted again, "Nice accessories by the way, where did you get those?" Eldhi curiously asked, one hand gesturing to the top of Alpha's head.

    @Alphabet Chocolate

  6. "Vermy!" Alpha declared proudly, flourishing the rose for the world to say. She puffed up her chest in pride and her cheeks were bloated with air. "She gave me one for the tea party and everything and it's so pretty! It lets me visit her anytime and I want and stuff! Oh, I'll go ask her if she could give you one two!" she gestured to the flower excitedly. "Then we can match!"

At the last word, Alpha gently pushed away from the Defender of Justice, standing on the tips of her toes as she reached out an arm to grab onto Eldhi's hand. "I'm gonna introduce you as Eldhiorse, my faithful steed!" she proclaimed with her other hand at her hip, her eyes beaming upward into the sky. "Now, let us go!"

With a ceremonious (and outright hammy) cheer, she tapped her heels together...once...twice...and thrice! The last time seemed to be a charm as the both of them vanished from the mushroom gardens, through a void that vaguely reminded her of her first visit to Vermilion Manor; riding in Narth's carriage as Rosaline (aka Roland) and her seemed to travel through space itself.

She landed less than ceremoniously on the dirt floor, rubbing her head and nursing the bruise that would certainly develop on her bottom. She really should practice teleporting a bit more (or less if this was the expected outcome each time). "Ow, ow, ow! You alright, Eldhi?" she winced, eyes squinted shut from the modicum of pain. Even if it didn't hurt as much as, say, getting burnt alive by Azog or ripped apart by Arachna, she was still injured through her broken pride. Embarrassment fluttered through her at the blunder. "If anyone asks, this never happened, Eldhi!"

    @Pandora @Eldhi

  7. "Ah, I see..." The white-haired knight put a hand against her chin, rubbing it in contemplation. So this... Vermy, whoever they were, sounded like a princess. She loved tea parties and roses. Great! A knight meeting with a Princess, straight out of a storybook, with the addition of a plucky Ninja Girl this time.

"Hmmm..." Though the flower looked nice on Alpha and it was a beautiful flower by its own right, Eldhi didn't feel like it'd fit with her overall chivalric image. She never heard King Arthur and any of the Round Table Knights having flowers in their hair. However, it was just an accessory anyway, she'd not disappoint her friend over such a small thing, she could just take it off when she left anyway.

What was the worst that could happen?

    ---

"Now now, Alpha, introduce me a-..." Eldhi cut herself off midway, giving the shorter girl a resigned smile instead, truly she felt like a big sister right now, "Nevermind, it's fine~ I'm your loyal steed, Milady." The Paladin gave a chivalric bow as Alpha did her trick, presumably using the red rose to magically transport themselves to Vermy's abode.

Eldhi kept herself calm during the brief travel and somehow, landed with grace befitting a knight even though her agility was nothing compared to the Master Ninja, she guessed she was just lucky to reappear in an ideal position. "Oh, are you alright?" The taller girl stifled a giggle as she offered a hand for Alpha to take, just like a proper knight!

"Heh, my lips are sealed, no worries. Now then." Her red eyes turned to observe her surroundings, "Are we here?"

    Vermillion Manor
@Alphabet Chocolate and @Eldhi had eventually arrived within the foyer of Vermillion's mansion. The warping methods used by those with Vermillion's roses are very specific and without the aid of very special arrangement. Vermillion's members would never be able to come and go from this place. The looks of the place would give little clue to the true nature of the place. Once again the paintings were portraying dream like lands and the luxurious decor made the statement of a very high class lady must rule here. Vermillion's maid awaited them patiently at the foot of the stairs and upon seeing the newcomer made a twichy frown before she grasped her arm and spoke.

"Welcome to H-House Vermillion. You must be A-lphabet's friend? ...Please make y-yourself at home. Alphabet... milady requests your p-presence and your friends a-as well... promptly."

Annette made her way up the stairs and gestured down the long hall ahead right at the top. If they would pass by and Annette and go down said hall. She would lean forward a bit and whisper into Alphabets ear.

"The manor is... currently i-in a state of mirage. You will reach our lady's chamber without d-difficulty.... the enchantment will allow it."

She offered a timid smile and would watch them proceed. There was little need for her to personally escort them. After traveling down the hall for a surprisingly short time. A painting of Vermillion would hang above a gold encrusted double door. Once again this was a painting of a beautiful blue sky and what looked like towers or maybe buildings in the background. Yet it was impossible to make out everything due to the strange art style used. Upon reaching the room within. Alphabet and Eldhi would be in a chamber that had a high ceiling covered in stained glass. The room had many roses and a few other flowers strewn about. Small streams of water flowed from small golden statues of angels throughout the six corners of the room. A long red carpet led straight from the doors the duo had entered right up to the back of the brightly lit room. Situated within this strangely religiously inspired place, was a tall red throne that was occupied by Vermillion Romanov.

The girl was dressed almost entirely in white with a bit of red here and there maybe to just fit her namesake. She was short for such a tall backed throne but still had enough of a regal air to not be too big of a surprise. Her hands were focused on a object that shone brightly in the sunlight coming from above. It looked like a rainbow. Her face was incredibly serious for one so young looking. Her eyes shifted to see the two who entered. A gentle smile spread across her face and broke the tense stare she had just had. The object rose up into the air and vanished into ether. She then rose from her throne and moved at a good pace towards Alphabet wrapping her arms around her.

"ABC! How wonderful to see you have returned! With a friend as well no less!"

One of Vermillion's hands remained gently on the Alphabet's shoulder while the noble turned to Eldhi.

"Welcome, You can call me Vermy or Vermillion, which ever you prefer."

Vermillion began to eye the knight up and down slightly. The inviting smile remained as she continued.

"I'm so glad ABC brought you over. I had just been speaking to her about playing red light, green light. Perhaps you will join us when we do?"

  9. Alpha nodded, shrugging off the dash of pain that shot through her body. She rubbed the back of her head sheepishly as her other hand latched onto Eldhi's own and she lifted herself up from the ground. Before much else could happen, however, the purple-haired maid approached. Alpha tilted her head, the girl's name at the tip of her tongue. Hadn't Vermilion mentioned this girl's name before? Back during her first visit? "Hiya....Annette? Arietta? Amy?" she guessed back and forth, engaged in her attempts to remember the girl's name. At some point, realization and serendipity replaced the glazed look of pondering eyes and she snapped her fingers, a light bulb going off atop her head. "That's right! Your name's Purplish, right?" she grinned before giving Annette an awfully strong pat on the back. She laughed uproariously as she slung her head over Annette's shoulder, gesturing to the maid with a pointed finger whilst winking at Eldhi. "Haha, this is my awesome friend, Purplish! Say hi, Purps! Oh! And this is Eldhi, my other awesome friend!"

Finally finishing the introduction, she piped down as she heard Annette began to speak. She'd heard that it was always the quiet ones who knew the most (or was out to kill you; it was one or the other or maybe both) so she had a great deal of interest in what Annette had to say. Before the meek girl could finish, however, Alpha gave another confident laugh and beamed at the shy girl before making her way back to Eldhi's side. "Thanks for the warm welcome, Purplish! Can't let Vermy wait for too long, right? Now, where was that weird throne room thing again?"

Before long, with Annette's whisper, Alpha took Eldhi by the hand and attempted to pull the girl down the hall. "See ya later, Purplish! C'mon Eldhi, faster! Faster!'

Finally, after the long journey, they had both reached the chamber. Alpha seemed to be growing eager by the minute and, upon seeing Vermilion, all restraint seemed to flow through her as she charged, arms open and ready to suffocate the vampiric girl under the power of friendship hugs. "Vermy!" she cried, snuggling into Vermilion's embrace while excitedly retelling everything down to the tiniest detail. "—and then Eldhi was at the mushroom place, right? And then I saw her and oh my god! And, and, and—" she continued, oblivious to the ongoings around her before Vermilion released their hug, still placing a comforting and warm hand on Alpha's shoulder. She leaned into the touch, happy and smiling.

"Ooooh! Red light, green light is the BEST!" she interjected.

    @Eldhi @Vermillion (XIII)

  10. The pair of adventurers soon arrived in what appeared to be the hall of a fancy mansion. Wide and lavishly decorated, paintings of immense value set up on the walls, a large crystalline chandelier hanging from the ceiling, and curtains of crimson framing each tall window. The central stairs that led up to the second floor were covered with a red carpet of the same color as the curtains. "Woah..."" The sight definitely left an impression on Eldhy, while this place wasn't exactly a medieval castle, it was the next best thing. The whole style reminded her of that picture book she read once, 'The Rose of Versailles'.

As if on cue, a young woman clad in a stereotypical maid dress with short purplish hair stood at the ready, welcoming them. "Yes, I am." Eldhi smiled, giving a light bow, The girl looked nervous, even Eldhi could see that. Was it because of the Paladin's armor and weapon? Didn't seem to be so. Ah well, whatever concern she might have was drowned by Alphabet's infinite energy. "There's no way that can be her name." Eldhi chuckled, the first three guesses were more fitting but then in true Alphabet's style, the ninja girl picked 'Purplish' instead. "Nice to meet you, Miss."

After the brief introduction, Purpli- no, Amy? Ah, whoever she was, whispered something to the wolf-eared brunette then the bubbly girl took the Paladin's hand, "Wait, isn't she going to escort us?" The knight gave a confused look even as she was dragged away by Alpha's deceptively strong grip. This Lady Vermy must be something for Alphabet to be this eager. Yes, that was saying something considering the ninja girl's personality.

A jog up the stairs, through the carpeted corridor, passing by ornate doors, and at last, they arrived at what presumed to be Vermy's room. "..." Eldhi looked about then blinked at the door, the golden double doors. Were they really made of gold?! Well, no, considering this was a virtual world but... by Tyl! How many Gold pieces did Vermy spend for this door, let alone the whole manor?! The numbers would be so high, might as well call them priceless. The white-haired girl didn't have much time to appreciate the painting set above the extravagant door as Alpha dragged her inside.

    ---

Behold, the regal throne room of Vermillion manor, surpassing even kings' and queens'. From the meticulously-maintained red roses, the stained glass high ceilings, the sculptures, the throne itself, and overall architecture; The chamber was the epitome of opulent wealth. "Is she...?" Thereupon the crimson throne sat a beautiful violet-haired noble girl around Alphabet's size, her eyes purplish-red, clad in a fine white dress with red accents, she was the centerpiece that brought everything in the room together. It seemed she noticed the two's presence as she stopped... whatever she was doing and addressed Alphabet.

The moment they greeted and warmly hugged each other, Eldhi finally witnessed just how close they were. "ABC...? Now that's an interesting nickname." Her Yladian friend, Solaria, mentioned how Eldhi gave her an unusual nickname of 'Solly', if only she was here now to see this. Anyways, time to do her part and be a knight!

Eldhi stood straight, cross one arm diagonally on her chest then made an elegant bow, worthy of a lady of such stature, "An honor to meet you in person, Lady Vermillion. I am Eldhi Arc, a humble knight, at your service." Mmm... just how chivalric was that?!

"Eh...?" After the whole regal introduction, it would be a lie to say Eldhi wasn't surprised - and sliiiightly disappointed - that the petite Lady wanted to play a, no offense meant, 'childish' game. Weren't they going to have a royal tea party? However, it wasn't her place to protest, she was a guest and she should honor the gracious Lady who hosted her. Besides, she really didn't want to disappoint Alpha with how eager she was to invite her here. "Very well, I shall endeavor to play to the best of my abilities. May I know the rules, Milady?"

Vermillion placed the index finger of her free hand to her mouth as Alphabet excitedly awaited the game and Eldhi a knight... obviously one who had a bit of a hero complex, also seemed to be willing to partake. Vermillion glanced at Alphabet again and her smile grew just a tiny bit with a mischievous but not evil or sinister look. Her finger lowered and she squeezed the rogue's shoulder a little with her small hand. Vermillion's voice could be heard within Alphabet's mind even though the noble was not speaking at all. Possibly a effect of the rose.

"Now I will show you what fun can really be like.... I want to see that enthusiasm. Show me how much fun you can have with your friends! My BFF.... "

Vermillon walked up to the knight and waved her hand towards the throne. Her eyes sparkled with a childlike excitement.

"Excellent! You will enjoy this I'm sure. I always try to make my guests feel comfortable. ABC here was my last guest. She became so happy she did not want to leave! Hmhmhm."

The hint of danger in her words would likely go over someone who lacked cautions head.

"The game is as follows. You first must turn and face the throne like so!"

The short noble would gently try to help the knight face the throne if needed but would not intrude into their personal space unless invited. She then continued from behind Eldhi. All of this was not really the Arch Vampire's main interest. She only played games on rare occasion in the past. To maintain a connection to her past. However ABC's involvement has given a bit of a rekindling to the noble.

"Now when I say green light, you walk, do not run, towards the throne. If I say red light... you should stop. Don't and you lose the game. It's really quite fun, you'll see. It's a game of strict control. Fitting for a knight who is bound to serve."

Vermillion put her hand on the knight's back, checking the poor quality of the armor and her eyes gleamed a little with interest at how to deal with this offering best. Unfortunately Eldhi would not be able to see this slow change.

"I must say... hmhmhm... there is only one last question before we play and have a fantastical amount of fun."

The nails on Vermillion's hands got a tiny bit longer as her back began to bulge with two small bumps that would soon emerge as wings.

"As a knight you must have a oath. What is yours? Do you think it is something that you can accomplish? Does being here with me now accomplish that oath? If you are a hero then why is this world in such a sorry state? If you are a loyal servant, then why are you playing games so far from your master? Forgive me, that's more than one question and this is just a game for all of you people isn't it now? I suppose what I am saying is... hmhmhm. You are a total failure as a knight in both discipline and ability. Perhaps you should consider a change of career my friend."

Just as she said the word 'failure' the light from the stained glass above changed. It grew darker and redder. The roses suddenly began to move and their vines snapped into the air. The water that came from the angels... now all statues of bat winged golden gargoyles, all became red as blood. In fact the entire room was filled with the smell of blood and the sent of the roses. The strangest part was that the smell created a almost mesmerizing effect. It was not at all disgusting at least not to the current occupants.

    "Now then hehehehe!"

The vampire folded her arms and flew back to block the chamber entrance with a single beat of her newly generated wings. She decided to torment this knight for a while. Vermillion had made no prior effort to learn about this visitor from another world. She was not a obvious member of that Yulan group. Nor were there any worthwhile rumors of her feats. So to find out if she was worth it or just a quick meal, Vermillion would have a bit of amusement first. At the same time she would test how corrupted Alphabet had become and how devoted she was as well. Vermillion had on occasion found that some of her prized collection would be less compatible with her. If that was the case, she promptly would deal with them as a good master should.

"ABC here;s how you play! You just see what you can do to make this wannabe knight bleed more and more every time she fails to stop! I adore the crimson.... hehehehe won't you help your best friend see it on her? All over her? Hehehehe! If she refuses to play I will kill her myself of course. Regardless, this is a wonderful offering! Hehehehe!"

The Crimson Noble grinned with her fangs. Gestured a hand towards the knight as a rose vine whipped the ground by Eldhi's feet. A signal that the game had begun to reach the red throne that now sat upon a pile of skulls.

    "Remember no running! Green light!"

RULES: @Eldhi and Vermillion rolls 1d100. If Vermillion rolls higher than Eldhi, she did not stop in time when Vermillion says red light! If this happens @Alphabet Chocolate must roll a attack roll of 1d100 to cause damage to Eldhi! Regardless of results, add Eldhi's roll to the DC. Eldhi may forfeit the game at any time, however it will result in a battle. She may also not log off as this place prevents that option. There are no modifiers in these rolls.

  12. Truth to be told, Eldhi didn't know about this particular game, at least not as far as she could remember. However, the name suggested it was of a similar vein to the ever popular hide-and-seek, often played by young children. Eldhi might actually be around three years younger compared to her virtual persona but she believed she still looked older than both Alpha and Vermy. Why did she feel like having another 'little sister'? Two of them now, was this how her eldest brother felt? Since he was born first before his two little sisters, Eldhi being the youngest.

The white-haired knight turned her gaze to the regal throne before gazing back down at the much shorter girl. Alpha liked it here so much, she didn't want to leave? ...but didn't she just leave to meet her in the Mushroom Kingdom? Being a rather cheery young girl herself, not as much as Alpha though, Eldhi thought nothing of it, likely just the usual exaggeration of children. Heh... calling them children now, was she? Well, she would be attending middle school if not for her albinism hindering things so... yeah, she wasn't that young really.

"I see." Eldhi faced the throne back as per Vermillion's instructions. The rule was... simple to say the least, so she must walk to the throne when the light was green-... ooooh, traffic lights, huh? She got it now. Then again, did they have traffic lights in Terrasphere? ...err, maybe? She hadn't explored the world enough or Vermillion was a fellow player or if not, the likely alternative would be this whole thing was Alpha's idea. The part of strict control... er, it wasn't exactly wrong but... couldn't Vermy use other words for it? Discipline and loyalty should be nice. Ah well, not a big deal.

"Oh? Go ahead, Milady." The white-haired girl silently hoped she would be asking her whole motivation being a knight, she could go on and on about the Legends of King Arthur! "Well the oath i-... uh..." Just as she wanted to answer the excitable girl, the Lady paraded on, and on, and on. At some point, the sinister turn of her voice would be noticeable even to simpletons. Eldhi quirked an eyebrow as she abruptly faced Vermillion in mixed confusion and offense as the questions turned from simple curiosity to downright insulting.

"What the...?" When the very reality around her shifted, turning the once elegant interior into one similar to Count Dracula's castle with the whole horror Gothic architecture, gargoyles, and blood. The sinister giggle cemented it, she had just been tricked. This whole place, everything, was a lie. The foul... creature, a vampire, a female Dracula! So that was her plan, huh? A villainess luring the heroine into her lair, how deceitful, fitting for a demon like her. Tyl abhorred the demonkin and seeing what happened now, it wasn't hard to figure out why.

Gritting her teeth as primal fear rose from her gut, as much as Eldhi hated to admit it, she was in deep trouble. The creature before her was clearly a high-level one, whether a player or an NPC, there was little chance for her to beat it. To make matters worse, she was on her turf, but... she had a chance, she had Alphabet with her. Now that the 'Lady' had shown her true monstrous colors, there was no way Alpha would still want to be friends with her. Together, they could beat her! However, what courage she managed to salvage threatened to crumble as Vermillion addressed her Kunoichi friend... or 'friend'.

"What...? No... Alpha, you... you're with her?" Eldhi gasped in disbelief. All this time, everything they went through. The Investigation quest they went together, the fight against Ashmouth the Lava Golem, and all the fun times they spent together, was everything just one big bald-faced lie?! She couldn't believe it, she was lied to, betrayed, the plucky Ninja girl was in cohorts with the bloodthirsty abomination, both claiming the pretense of being cheerful young girls. Monsters underneath the surface... both of them.

This... this wasn't fun anymore, Eldhi wanted to log out but she was locked in. It seemed the game recognize this event as a 'Boss Fight'. So, taking the side of the villain, huh, Alphabet? "Disgusting..." Eldhi spat, using her rising anger to offset the fear gripping her heart, the little twitches of her features revealed she was close to just cowering in fear but... but she was a Knight of Tyl! Protector of the People, Defender of Justice and Righteousness! This... this was her test. She must bring forth the light to burn her, just as the sun would burn Dracula.

"Alpha..." Eldhi growled as she brandished her longsword, the edge glowing golden with Illumancy, "Please tell me this isn't true." A small part of her heart still believing Alpha wasn't a betrayer. Please tell her that she was tricked too, tell her that she wasn't planning this all along.

Eldhi refused to participate in the game. No dice thrown.

  13. Alpha was honestly excited for the game. It seemed like the perfect ice breaker and event for Vermilion and Eldhi to meet and, although even she was somewhat frightened by Vermilion vampiric form when they had first met, she was disappointed that Eldhi would react so negatively towards her best friend. It wasn't as if the pain was real and it just wasn't right to judge Vermilion based on her appearances and whatnot (she failed to notice the hypocrisy in that statement). She was about to speak up, to defend herself and Vermilion, when she heard Eldhi's next words. A crushing sense of despair overcame her.

    "Disgusting."

She covered her ears with her hands, small tears beginning to form at the edges of her eyes as she turned her back away from Eldhi. She barely noticed Eldhi brandishing her sword and that act of betrayal against her and Vermilion was something which pierced through her heart. It was as if Eldhi's blade had some mystical effect which managed to slice not only a physical body but also shatter Alpha's emotional state.

"You're just being mean!" Alpha shouted, voice squeaking from her tears. She was never that good with emotions and her teachers would always tell her that she was a very sensitive person in that respect. "Sticks and stones hurts bones but words don't!" she cried.

The waterworks went on for a long while before, finally, rage began to melt into her features. Her shoulders tensed, her eyebrows furrowed, and her lips bitten to a crimson red. "Don't be mean to Vermy!" she stomped her foot, gritting her teeth and essentially throwing a temper tantrum. "And you're just a butt-face and you're a watermelon with seeds that's a thousand years old!" she screamed out everything on her mind, her voice hoarse.

At long last, at the end of her enraged ramblings mixed with overtly-emotional tears, she tossed a nasty look at Eldhi. "We're not friends anymore!" she declared, stomping her foot a few times on the floor for good measure while throwing her hands up in the air to signify her endless rage. Only a bag of Halloween candy could calm her down now.

Maybe Vermilion would know what to do...

Once again....hmph! Once again her prey decided to resist and not play along. Vermillion was getting tired of this disrespect from these outsiders and their misplaced overestimation of themselves. Then again it was not her specialty to puppeteer nor manipulate, So in the end it not matter. It would have just been more entertaining and Vermillion always could use a bit more excitement around the castle. Oh well... on to the point then. Simply taking control of a situation often quite literally was far better in Vermillion's very unhumble opinion. Far better to subjugate a possible treasure and see if they are worth it or better served on her dining table.

"Look at that... you made our friend sssso upset! Why are you people sssso inssssenssitive? I would not have killed you, only tormented you and ssshown you how weak and helplessss you are. Hehehehe well alright then, dear ABC, I think ssssshe doesssn't want to play with usss..."

The arch vampire flapped her wings and lifted off of the ground as she began to glow with a red energy. Her face was distorted with her own disgust at the knight's choice, however Vermillion did not attack her directly yet. It was not needed. This was her home in her throne room no less. And of course there was Alphabet who could do her very first bloody sacrifice for the Crimson Noble. Turning this knight black.... would it be worth it? If Vermillion did that with every girl she met it would be crowded with useless sorts here. Although sometimes it was just for the fun of watching the tragedy of a dream filled innocent become a nightmare as their desires and ideals go into wild directions...

"..." When the brunette girl threw a temper tantrum instead, crying her heart out because Eldhi refused to play the vampire's sadistic game. It was at that moment that the Paladin knew that the traitor was just as insane as the so-called Lady Vermillion. Sadistic lunatics, both of them. Did they seriously expect her to continue on a jolly mood to play some morbid version of a child's game after all this? The insults to her pride, the horror house interior, and the creepy laughters. No matter how much Alpha tried to convince her, they were mere empty words to Eldhi now.

"Save your crocodile tears, scum." Eldhi snapped back at Alpha, the Paladin's own words brought holy judgment to the Kunoichi. "A demented abomination such as it..." Eldhi gestured to the winged girl, "I shall not suffer the demon to live!" She readied her combat stance, rage from being betrayed and humiliated was enough to overpower her fears now. Never before in her life, including her real life, Eldhi had never felt so angry. Sure she hated a few villainous characters in the video games she played but this... this was personal!

"You are correct." Giving a cold glare at Alphabet, Eldhi's own red eyes narrowed in utter pitiless hatred, "We are enemies. You are an affront to everything I stand for, come, fight me! This is what you want, right, Alpha? This is the moment you have been waiting for! I may perish this day... but know that I despise you." She wanted revenge, vengeance, for Alpha to break down, taste how it felt to be betrayed.

"As for you, bloodsucker." Eldhi chuckled once, facing the sharp end of her glowing blade at Vermillion, "The light of Tyl will purify your black heart!" With that, Eldhi spared no more words as she charged straight at the floating vampire. Dauntless against the blood-red aura surrounding her, she had no reason to fear for Tyl's brilliance was with her!

Driven by zealous fury, she charged forward, her blade brimming with light as she made a wide swing, "Hyah!" launching a crescent-shaped wave of Holy light at the vampire, "Rraaaagh!" Not done yet, Eldhi launched herself diagonally up to Vermillion's eye level and then slashed at her. Hopefully hitting her wing to ground her... hopefully.
