"Looks like we've landed on th' island Cap'n," the Corsair spoke, tipping his hat so the shade fell over his eyes and hid the daylight sun. "What do ye want us t' do next?"

His captain, a lady with long, billowing bronze hair and a missing eye, refused to turn and acknowledge him. She took a whiff of her cigar, blowing the smoke out of her pink lips before blowing out the cigar on her pant-leg. The sun accentuated her scarred body and lascivious bosom; the slender thighs and subtle nuances of her body. A woman who had obtained beauty but stealing the very life out of her victims. A woman with the power to drain the life out of whoever she kissed.

"Be tellin' Mister Smee that we've reached Druuk Island and be tellin' that scurvey dog t' mobilize our forces fer a raid," she slurred, last night's alcohol and festivities still warm in the pit of her stomach. "Careful though, I've heard from th' birds that there'll be some fighters at th' dock; hired mercenaries I suppose."

She frowned as she remembered. The delivery gulls at given her news that the islanders had learnt of the raid beforehand due to a leak by one of her mutinous crew. She, of course, had him hung by the neck and sent his body to the ocean floor with an anchor and without a hope. Still, despite the retribution she wrought on him, the damage had been done and the islanders had time to prepare. She had to be wary of these hired folk but, luckily, she knew that if she got rid of them then taking over the rest of the place would be as easy as frying an egg on a hot summer day with a fire outside and an oiled pan all ready for her to use.

She heard the screams from far away in the distance as the island pier grew visible from the sea. A smirk fell on her face and a cruel look placed itself on her features. Her fangs bared and wild, she finally turned around to face the Corsair. "They'll be preparin' on th' dock. Get th' crew ready. They may try t' sink our Jolly Roger."

The Corsair turned, ready to go inform Mister Smee of the events and to gather the crew onboard. The Captain let loose a heart guffaw at the challenge and dropped her cigar down to the seabed below, unsheathing her cutlass from her waist. These land-lovers would not best her today, she thought as her ship approached shore. The cheers and bloodthirsty gazes of her crew, however, drowned her thoughts out.

-> Try to Sink the Jolly Roger.

  2. On the Island close to the about to be attacked dock. Would be a figure that would stand alone. Separate from the other's who had taken this dangerous mission to stop a very powerful group of pirates. This 'quest' as such things were called by the controllers of this game world. Was going to be very draining and yet... it would be the greatest source of appeasal to her dark gods. How many men could possibly pass this day and their souls given to Merkaba? Let the majority of this battle be fought by those who were unenlightened but Elizabeth would reap the benefits. The coming waves of mayhem and bloodshed wet the witches appetite. Finally something truly to get herself indulged in.

Merkaba had made many preparations for this. Her scythe in hand and her magic readied and able. The Jolly Roger and it's crew were in the distance. How silly to base this on a actual fairy tale villain. Perhaps the tale was based on this dimensions pirate by someone who had connected to here through great magic? Or was it a mere troll by the game creators who had linked the worlds together? No matter. Merkaba had set up a wonderful little soul collection magic over the area. Everytime a death occurred no matter what side. It would be brought to Merkaba in a steady stream. The magic also drained the life force (HEALTH SAP EFFECT) of the victims that had yet to die. It was a very powerful spell. One of Merkaba's best currently. It also was based on her real life dark art rituals. It was very slow to prep however, as most dark art rituals of this level were.

There were skulls lined up all around the pier forming the shape of a pentagram. Black candles were set to burn upon her activation word. The life and soul draining would then begin. Elizabeth had to be sure that it would only life drain the enemy so a spacial set of symbols was drawn on each skull. Of course, this spell was useless until the pirates actually began arrived on the land, and she did not want it to wear off before they would die and lose out on their souls. So she would wait patiently for the right time. Letting things play out.

Merkaba awaited further into the Island but from a place where she could see the ships approach the pier. With several rocks arranged in a circle around her. Only a bit more and the sounds of battle would begin, and then....

    A harvest.

  3. She paced the dock in anticipation. She'd gotten here early, eager to put her latest acquisition to use; A pair of claw katar she'd commissioned just hours before. She worked through a stretching routine, more to ease frazzled nerves and anticipation than anything. She'd never met any of the people she was supposed to be meeting here, and she preferred to do her social networking when pirates weren't trying to hack her to pieces.

As she scanned the quest description for the tenth or eleventh time, inspiration struck, and she used her skills in stealth and subterfuge to disappear beneath the dock. There was a bonus objective for burning the ship, and a sabotage mission seemed right up her alley. She's hide, swim to the other side of the ship, climb aboard, and set the whole thing ablaze before anyone knew what was what, then join the battle from behind.

That was the plan, at least. If nothing else, she could at least use her concealment to take someone important by surprise. Either way, this was a great idea, and she was great for thinking of it. Hell of a way to make a first impression on her new teammates too, eviscerating a man from behind, then strolling forward with a smile and a handshake with a burning ship in the background. The fact that everyone in her group was going to think she was some kind of pyro/serial killer made her pause for a moment, but she could sort through all that later.

she mumbled to herself from her concealment beneath the pier "I'm going to get my dumb ass killed in the first five minutes trying to pull this off..."

she shook her head and did her best to maintain her earlier enthusiasm as she scanned the horizon, looking for ships and listening for the arrival of the rest of the group.

  4. Dempsey would notice the arrival of one of other players that took on the seemingly difficult quest. This player was a handsome male wearing all black with a short sword on his back. Other then the weapon, no other items were seen on the person. "Sorry I'm late." Roja said as he gave a small wave. "I was in the middle of something and remembered that I had this quest to do. I'm here now though." He explained as he took out his sword and begun to clean it with a rag.

  5. _____Those ready to stop the pirates at the docks would get a small light show as the trails of Arcane light crossed the sky and went towards the ship despite the distance. Arcanamancy was great for long range, and when the caster had her armor on she could manage a few larger blast without much trouble. If anyone turned inland Echo would be standing in a small hillside charging a larger beam towards the ship. The girl clad in heavy blue steel and used her tower shield against a rock behind her to prevent recoil and fallback.

_____In her right hand rested her short spear that was acting as her magic focus point. The small beams of purple light moving towards the growing orb as she closed her right eye and lifted her left hand to try and give herself a better aim at her target. She was going to burn most of her focus out with this blast as she kept charging and trying her best to wait for the ship to move closer. Hopefully her first barrage was enough to damage the lower haul of the ship and caused it to start sinking.

"Yall done should duck soon, I never tried using a blast this large... What could go wrong.~"

_____Echo warned those on the docks as the energy begin to spark from the orb, she was not able to make it any larger as it grew to the size of a gyro ball some people used for exercise and the girl chose to simply hold it, and aim to the best of her ability. She would be lieing to herself if she thought this was not going to knock her out for a bit, or at least off her feet, but once the crew of the ship started to disembark Echo would let the beam rip the sky and aim to cut the ship down the center. But she was a sitting duck until then for counter attack.

Captain Hook's eyes narrowed as the hired mercenaries did little to stop their approach. There was something fishy going on, if she did say so herself, and she could taste the bitter stench of dark magic wafting from the island in great waves. She snorted. Had the residents of Druuk Island fallen so far with fear of her crew that they'd oblige in the dark arts to defeat her? No matter, the evidence that these fools had employed such personages for their personal protection merely inspired her to crush their skulls even more. To forego their own morals for such a thing made her laugh and her loyal pirates followed nicely, giving their own guffaws for reasons they had yet to know.

She turned, facing her crew with a bloodthirsty expression and an unhinged countenance. It was best for her crew to fear her power and obey her rather than go about loosely and die due to underestimating their opponents. Whilst this level of magic wasn't the strongest she'd ever felt, she knew that to underestimate any opponent, regardless of age or appearance, was what caused the downfall of many pirates and musketeers before here. With a loud, affirmative voice she addressed the crew:

"Ready th' cannons and fire yer weapons, and dinna spare the whip! Slaughter as many o' those fools as ye can before we reach land and make sure t' weaken their forces, by Davy Jones' locker! They cannot defeat us on water and, once we disorientate them, they cannot defeat us on land!"

Her crew hurrahed and, as she looked back on the island to see her cannonballs wreck through buildings and disperse crowds, she raised her cutlass to the air. A twinkle was in her eye as Mister Smee stood up, coming to the ship's beak. Their figurehead, the decapitated and embalmed body of the giant crocodile which stole her hand and left her without an eye, was kind to Mister Smee as he stood upon it with a scope. "They're distracted by th' cannons, Cap'n. What do we do next?"

She grinned, a vicious and malicious tint showing itself as the cannonballs landed around the outskirts of the dock. "We wait Mister Smee," she cackled, waving her sharp weapon around. Mister Smee zoomed in the dock, seeing one small boat left enough to carry a handful of people. Captain Hook winked before turning back and calling to her crew with a bellowing voice.

"Change o' plans! Leave th' last ship undamaged. It'll be faster that I handle them meself on th' good barnacle-covered Jolly Roger and, afterwards, that'll keep Druuk Island ours fer th' takin' when we weigh th' anchor!"

A chorus of cheers and affirmatives greeted her words and, for once in a long while, Captain Hook couldn't wait but fight these youngbloods. She went down to the Captain's Chambers, ignoring Mister Smee's calls, and closed her eyes. It's been a long day and she had to calm her excited nerves for a bit. If they proved themselves to be worthy enough to surpass Mister Smee and her crew, then they'd be worthwhile to best in a duel. She grinned, dreaming of what's to come.

  7. Merkaba felt the dark power rising.... her mana burned for release. The ritual was demanding release but until the dark witch spoke the word that would bring the curse upon the pier, it would remain bubbling beneath notice. The skulls and candles were now glowing and all she needed was her victims. The pirates of Captain Hook would be like delicious delicacies before her. Now, when would the chickens come home to roost? The firing of cannons on the buildings of the pier then came. Merkaba's brow raised slightly. So, they were not going to come to the land? What were the other defenders of the dock doing? Nothing? Staring with slack jaws? Sigh...

Merkaba also had her two of her ritual skulls hidden within range of that cannon fire. If they were destroyed the spell would be impossible. They had to take action now. Pulling up her menu she , yes in the middle of battle, contacted each other member of the defense party. They needed to stop those cannons or else. The victory would go from easy to unnecessarily hard. Merkaba could take to the field and just fight the silly thieves but it would be far from graceful.

Excuse me. You should be aware of the cannon fire right now. I have several ritual items for a spell that will turn the tide of battle. Two of which are with buildings that can be hit by those cannons. Do not allow them to be destroyed if you would. You simply have to get the pirates to land on the pier. Stop the cannons!. Even if it means false surrender. Stop them.

Follow this advise or pay the consequences, your choice.

Sending the message with a click of a virtual button. Merkaba looked back out at the ensuing action. Waiting for results to turn to her favor.

  8. Dempsey marveled at how the two magic users stood at the ready, with powerful spells prepared as if there were no possible way the invading pirates wouldn't recognize such an obvious ambush. The two parties were locked in a stalemate, and she imagined that the pirates could sit and wait aboard a ship longer than the two spell casters could hold their spells at the ready, while both of her parties magic users somehow envisioned the pirates mindlessly docking and walking directly into an obvious trap. with exasperation born of knowing that if she of all people had to be the brains of the outfit, things were grim indeed. She scurried from her cover beneath the pier, scrambling to summit the dock, then paced it's length until she was closer than not to the shore. She took a deep breath and shouted as loudly as she could.

"SHOOT. THE FUCKING BOAT. WITH YOUR MAGIC. ARE YOU TWO STUPID?"

Red in the face now, she continued her tirade, while still keeping half an eye on the water behind her in-case the pirates have a change of heart about coming ashore.

"Once their boat is damaged enough, we can just kill them one by one while they come ashore, and have this all wrapped up by lunch. C'mon guys... Seriously! If we try to wait them out, they'll just leave and raid somewhere else, and then WE won't get paid, and i will have wasted a perfectly fine morning for noting, because you two want to have a wizardy pissing contest!"

She screams with frustration and stomps her foot on the pier.
