    Pain surged through Temperance's body as she was knocked back by the sudden whirl of spinning tentacles, which was something she thought she'd enjoy a lot more in theory. But these knocked her backwards into the ice-and-snow that she had slid down on, landing on her rump and nursing some pretty bad breaks and bruises. Moaning, she sent a surge of holy energy to herself and the two other women, patching up some of their injuries. She held her breath as the creature sent out a gas attack, sparing herself all sorts of nasty side-effects from its poisonous touch.

    Hopefully Rudolf or the kid would pick off the little slimes, while Gwyn shot the big dumb boss slime to death with her powerful attacks!

    The Megalomass Ooze is ENRAGED by hitting critical health. It undergoes a metamorphosis as it's body leaves the ground. The ancient magic that may have brought it to life in the first place now changing it's body into a emergency defensive state. The hovering sphere of hardened goop summons several of it's spawn back into it's body as 5 Black Slimes leap off the ground in a strange sight to rejoin mother. Their bodies instantly adding to thick black 'armor'.

    This turn does not refresh the cycle. All cooldowns remain in effect for both allies and enemies.

    Slime Shed: (Passive) All weapon/physical attacks cause loss of slime from Megalomasses body. This slime then rises up and becomes a Black Slime! Higher the damage the more slime is shed.

    Megalomorph: (Passive) Megalomass morphs it's body into a large floating sphere of hardened slime for 2 Cycles. It now has AC: 75 (Natural Rolls Below 75 Miss This Boss). Effects available actions during Bosses turn.

    Slime Rebuild: Black Slimes rejoin Megalomass to recover 50 HP per Black Slime: 5 rejoined.

    As she rapidly fired off the group heal, Temperance immediately prepared another casting and sent another wave of holy energy through herself to restore much of the damage that had been done to her in the attack moments ago, then turned her attention to Gwyn and Alphabet. She would need to provide each of them with a considerable chunk of health to bring them back to tip top fighting condition, but that would take a few moments to cast... moments they might not have!

    The slimes that were ignored began to climb back onto the large slime monster, restoring its mass and likely its own vitality as it turned into a large dark orb that flew up into the air. More slimes had been knocked off of it from Gwyn's powerful shot, nine of the little bastards covering different parts of the sewer floor and goop-gooping about like gross jerks!

    She wasn't cut out for fighting, but she had given the girls some powerful magical boons which would make short work of the tiny slimes... or, if they could strike well enough to penetrate the slime-strewn hide of the largest foe, perhaps bring its reign of disgusting terror to an end. How dare it live down here, in the dark and the dank, not bothering anybody and generally minding its own fucking business! Well the HEROES were here to teach it a lesson, and she was NOT SURE WHAT IT WAS!

    She'd definitely have to ask them why they were doing this, once it was done.

    Like just... why?

    Damage Buff Ends

    Gwyn's eyes narrowed on the boss as her shot tore into it and cleaved off more of its mass, the amount of the miniature oozes was growing, but if they could put down the source it would be easy enough for the archer to remove the field of clutter with a few Volley Shot AOEs. As it was, for now her lone mark was the boss itself. It was so close. It toed the threshold and she'd see it pushed over before the slimes were able to do more.

    Instead of reacting by lashing out in another round of attacks, the inky black form pulled itself to into an armored ball, rolled up like an armadillo in defense. Not that it would do much to stop her. A weaker arrow might ping off the shell of it, but the next holy arrow did no such thing, slamming into it with the gleaming might of divine wrath. Gwyn might not care for gods or the powers of their different domains, but she could definitely admit to it being effective. She wondered in passing whose name Temperance praised. She immediately stopped wondering after the kind realization that she didn't really care. Gods were one and the same to her and like magic they were a great unknown. If they wanted to reach out they very well could. The archer didn't chase after foes with no proof, no trail, only myth to their name.

    There were plenty of living things to nag the heels of in the search or out of loyalty or devotion. Be they the enemies she faced like the ooze or the friends she made here and the waking world. No one deserved her attention or praise without reason and at present the Ooze had her attention. Gwyn couldn't say it was smart enough to understand that that was a bad thing, but it hopefully wouldn't matter much longer.

    Slowly but surely Roland made work of the tentacles slicing through them, while Gwyn pincushioned the monster with arrows. It took some time, but eventually, the monster recoiled in a howl of pain, receding into itself forming a giant ball. Roland didn't understand magic in this world, but he could know that the creature was likely taking a defensive position. The problem was it probably wouldn't last for long, and when it attacked, its effects would be devastating. Though the oil on his swords had long since dissipated, he pushed forward towards the beast with an unintelligible scream, slashing at its new form.

    Each stroke, however, seemed to bounce off the outer shell of the monster failing to penetrate inside. "Damnit!" Roland called out, "I can't hit it while it's like this, we have to do something!" Feeling useless there was little the swordsman could do but wait it out, and hope someone provided an opening soon.

    It was difficult trying to balance which blessings people needed more... On the one hand, there were still various injuries that needed mending if the group was going to keep on its feet and take down all of the threats. But at the same time, the rising number of enemies meant that if damage weren't kept up, the danger would just keep growing and growing. With a huff, Temperance moved from channeling holy magic into healing spells and shaped it into something she was more familiar with: the warm blessing that would increase might and magic, and bring out the true potentials of her allies, empowering them slightly.

    This time there was no cutesy kiss aimed at Gwyn as she sent a wave of light over at the archer woman, watching it envelope her bow and empowering it once again. It was perfect timing, as the previous spell had just worn off with her last shot... and Rudolf was shouting at them all about how he was having trouble hitting their enemy. So far, Gwyn's aim had proven true enough, and done the most to tear at the beast. So to her went the gift of her god's power! Now, the priestess just had to keep tossing out heals.

    Damage Buff: 2 Rounds Remain

    Their little party stood on a rather shaky foundation, what with their tank's inability to keep the creature's aggro to himself or to strike out at it. At least he was making a token attempt. In the dark of the boss's lair, she hadn't seen the rogue cut away her piece of the ooze either and she wasn't sure as to why. Even with her stealthy capabilities, spotting an ally in her party in the middle of an enclosed boss fight should have been easy. The archer hoped that she hadn't fallen in combat from an attack she hadn't seen make its mark. Roland and Temperance were at least still standing and neither looked worse for wear. A small mercy in the face of any fight. So long as their support stood, they had a chance and when combined with the low health of their enemy? It looked good from where she stood.

    The warm hum of the damage buff from said healer had faded, but a new wave of power washed over her and settled into black longbow. Watching the light shimmer across its surface would have surely been a beautiful sight had she the time to appreciate it. With the knowledge of the magic's grip on her arrows, Gwyn focused on the task at hand. Another fletching shifted between her fingers as she pulled an arrow to her hand and rested it across the string. It was getting to the point now that she no longer felt the strain of the bow's full draw. A combination of growing used to its capabilities and her own strength gaining every step of the way she was sure. She missed the burn in her muscles. Perhaps it was nearing time for a new one, though it would be sad to see Sera's clever work retired.

    The future of the weapon might have been unsure, but it still did its work and it did it damn well. It was as if it sought to prove itself in that moment, in the space between the support's enchantment and Gwyn's sure grip. Whoever Temperance's god was, the ranger hoped the fucker was proud of the divine bolt sent sailing into the center of the ooze's mass.

    Alpha stared as Gwyn's shot flew through the creature and rendered it apart. She had been busy dodging the ooze's attack and, by the time she refocused her attention to the battlefield, it seemed that the fight was over. Well, against the colossal slime creature anyways. She gave an appreciative nod to the strange Temperance before turning her attention to the smaller slimes next to them. "Here we go!"

    Quickly, she extended her arm over to their zone in a familiar, fluid movement. Magic gathered around her palm again as she poured more strength behind it. "Okay! Can't have Gwyn take all the credit, right?" she grinned as the ghostly visage of a small terrier pup formed from the light green energy. "Fetch, boy!"

    The pup gave a few barks and yips in excitement before it dashed full-speed towards the group of slimes that had gathered around Temperance and Gwyn. It weaved past Roland and, in a flash, it crashed into one of the oozy abominations and exploded into a blast of pure light. Alpha whistled as she eyed the light scorches on the floor and the bodies (or lack thereof) of the slimes. She would've been happy if they've been simply mutilated but being blown to microscopic pieces wasn't that bad of an end. "Five-thousand points to Alphabet Chocolate!" she laughed.

    Boss: Megalomass Ooze Defeated!
    Mega Dungeon: Rank E- C Cleared!

    Megalomasses ancient slimy body slowly liquefies more and more ,as it bubbles shorter and shorter, smaller and smaller, right into the floor. Leaving nothing but a horrible stench and blackened floor where it once sat. The party is left alone with nothing but the sounds of sewer water falling from the the drains far above to accompany them. Or was it? Another look around would show that there were several pieces of what at first may have been just trash, but in actuality, equipment was found underneath where the massive slime had been! Old, slimy and rotten equipment but hey!

    @Roland Rutledge

    Loot

    Pipe Helm
    (Heavy Armor - Head)
    A rusty old helmet that looks just like a piece of a drain pipe! Makes a statement but... is it one you want to make?

    @Temperance

    Loot

    Forgotten Shoes
    (Medium Armor - Feet)
    Sneakers(?) worn by someone long, long ago. They smell really bad too, but they are comfy!

    @Alphabet Chocolate

    Loot

    Featureless Doll
    (UA Magical Tool - Focus)
    A old doll that was flushed down the sewers It was probably a toy but now with all the rotten bits it looks much less kid friendly.

    @Gwyn ap Herne

    Loot

    Toxic Rod
    (UA Magical Tool - Rod)
    A rod left behind by a mage who died alone in the sewers trying to solo. It has absorbed a great deal of the toxicity of it's surroundings. Perhaps it can someday be used to release such poisons.

    After picking up the last piece of loot. One of your party will notice a small latch in the floor... it is not possible for this place to go deeper is it? Pulling on it out of curiosity causes a circular 'cover' to lift up showing a a bunch of words carved into the floor underneath.

    "You who feel trapped ,read this and be free. I have found my personal hell and I do not wish for the same of you. The last of my magic that I can control, I use here for you. Return to the lands of Falderen and leave that which is best forgotten be. "

    Upon reading those words you would feel a energy from all around you gather and... your party would find themselves outside the front gates of Stokbon, feeling and looking quite filthy as well.
